I had been to Knowlwood before when I worked down the street. They have decent burgers but I always found their fries a bit underdone. Yummy burgers very tasty! Came here with my bf, and they had measures in place for Covid friendly seating. The food takes a little longer than your normal fast food joint. Unbelievably filthy with a terrible sandwich. I could not believe my eyes when we walked in at 7:15 pm on a Tuesday night, 90% of the tables were dirty and only 2 customers were in the restaurant. I ordered a French dip sandwich, since that's something I always enjoy. When I received it, it was as dry and hard as can be.. It had to be the worst sandwich I have ever received. We came here for a quick Sunday lunch, this is our review. We had 1/2 lb burgers, fries, and fried zucchini. Food is pretty affordable Food taste is average, typical burgers and sides. When I pulled up to this place I was really interested to see if the claims of, "world's best hamburger," were true. You know, because there are so many, "world's best hamburger," out there, it has to be a statement that you test every time you hear the claim made. After walking in I was delightfully surprised by the decorations inside. It was all old-timey, but with the neon lights everything felt like it had a modern twist to it. I felt like I was in a diner that pandered to every demographic, and that was refreshing if I'm being completely honest. I ended up ordering the Irish Nachos-because how could I not-and the Frisco Deluxe. Unsurprisingly, the Irish Nachos were absolutely fire. If you don't get the Irish Nachos to share with a hot date, your date may as well just end right then and there. As for the Frisco Deluxe being, "the world's best hamburger," I'm going to have to give it a solid 7/10. The flavor was on point for what it wants to be, but it was by no means the world's greatest. What really draws the burger together is the toasted parmesan bread, now that stuff is to die for! All in all, not a bad place to go on a date or just a night out with the boys. Knowlwoods had great food with reasonable prices. I have never been disappointed. Their burgers are big and juicy with lots of toppings to choose from. They also have a great club sandwich and their cheese fries are to die for. Their food is always cooked fresh and hot. The staff is always friendly too. My son and I live in Mission Viejo but we try to make it a point to stop by a few times a month. I just wish there was a Knolwoods closer to my house. read more

"After my previous review , I didn't think I would ever make it back to this place. Unfortunately, our soccer team decided to have breakfast here after our game on Saturday. To start off, the staff seems like they're miserable and acts as though you are inconveniencing them at any point of requests. I ordered the chorizo burrito (see pictures), and it was definitely not worth the $10. To add, they served it on a plate that looked like it hadn't been washed. I've been coming to this restaurant for over 30 years, and it's just going downhill... there's a reason the others have closed. Yes, we arrived 30 mins b4 close this time, but the service was initially good until we got our food. We ordered fish and chips: seriously smelly and rubbery, fries stale; irish nachos layered: fries stale, cheese chalky and unmelted, bacon so hard it couldn't be bitten into. We returned the nachos asking them to be melted...meanwhile, the 2 young girls behind the counter were just chatting, the cook cleaning, and an additional female staff cleaning up after a family. About 8:20, a gentleman walked in to order and was told they were closed (not till 8:30). 15 mins had gone by, and we were wondering where our food was to which one of the young girls behind the counter jumped in surprise and realized she'd forgotten that she'd put them under the salamander.... they were returned to us in the exact condition we'd brought them back. Obviously, the salamander had been shut down. We didn't bother asking for a refund as obviously no one with any authority or responsibility was in attendance. After a long run, we are never coming back here. The owner should spend less time putting up ridiculous decor and spend more time on product and staff quality. read more

I ordered the Cajun chicken sandwich which wasn't memorable-other than having a ton of bread and not enough chicken. It wasn't seasoned very much and I didn't taste anything to the effect of cajun. I also ordered the onion rings, fries, and zucchini with friends to share and that was delicious! The batter is different on the onions and zucchini which makes it crispier than usual. This last Friday a coworker and I got to visit this Knowlwood and wow--what a blast from the past! It had been nearly 10 years since my team mate had been to Knowlwood and nearly 4 years for myself. Once you walk in you realize how special this place is. They are a fully functioning restaurant out of an original barn! They have a couple of rooms that families or larger groups can meet in and one of them use to be the actual Tool Room of the original barn! The owners are wonderful people. They are local entrepreneurs trying to serve their community with great food and an even greater vibe! I was at this location this morning and ordered for the first time corned-beef hash and WOW! Having never tried this before until today, I was very impressed! I put my over-easy eggs on top of the corned-beef hash, broke up the yoke and came up with a brand new favorite morning meal. Brought my kids back last night on our way home from wild rivers and it was a like a trip back in time and I loved it. The place if full of old irvine ranch items and the building is amazing! I've lived in this area for a year, off Modjeska and Irvine blvd. When I just moved here my buddy said Knolwood was a good spot to check out. But I guess I was too lazy to do so. I finally did today. I loved the ambiance and family owned small business vibe to it. It's very refreshing considering Irvine is so cookie cutter. My host was also super nice I got the egg breakfast, 3 strips of bacon, hash browns, and sour dough. It was basic. Nothing too special. But for the price of $9 with tax you can't beat it anywhere. My boyfriend and I came here before going to the Snoop Dogg concert. This establishment is conveniently located right across from the hotel we stayed at. This place reminds me of Knotts Berry Farm as I believe they featured menu items there. When we came in it was dead empty which can be a good or bad sign. They did not have an appetizing menu and I was not enthused about this place to yelp and my dude could tell. Nothing seemed yummy so I settled on the Irish Loaded Fries and tried the fried Zucchini with a Cranberry Mimosa. Everything was good except the Fried Zucchini was tasteless like it had no taste at all! The fries and the drink filled us up but this place needs a make over. The booths are broken and dirty and everything just seems OLD. They need to vamp it up. Like you can tell when something is Vintage but this is not, it's just old and dirty furniture. The tables were unkept. I'm not sure how long this place can stay in business. I honestly would not dine here again as I was so underwhelmed with this place! It was not bad but convenient. I had a terrible lunch at knowlwoods today, and I should've asked for a refund, not only was the sourdough burger, not fresh, obviously sat for a while before given to me, but the measly six mushrooms that were deep-fried for five dollars were frozen in the middle, not cold, but frozen. It's sad. I go to this place fairly regularly and this was at this appointment and will probably stick to the restaurant and will be a while before I go back to this restaurant.
