Friendly staff with tasty food at a fair price! We stopped by just passing through. We ate early when they opened and our choices met our expectations. Thanks for our dinner.

    Bison meatloaf

Such a cozy place to have a meal! We sat outside in the garden. Our Airbnb host recommended the warm cabbage salad which was delicious, don't skip it! We then ordered the bison meatloaf and bbq chicken. While the meatloaf was delicious, the chicken was a tad dry. Mashed potatoes and veggies were also light on salt (definitely healthy, but in large contrast with the main dish). The bbq sauces are excellent, very flavorful.

My husband and I went here for dinner on a Thursday evening. The staff was friendly and prompt. We ordered the garlic edamame that was the BEST edamame I've ever had. The food was delicious and very good portion sizes! We HIGHLY recommend their dessert. We ordered the skillet cookie (Made fresh in house) so there was a small wait, but very worth it! It was one of the best if not THE best cookie I've ever had. Thanks for having us Knotty Pine! We can't wait to return.

Local bar vibes, super chill. Food was delish. Service was good. I would come back again in the summer for some live music.

    Peach pie a la mode
    Dan M.

This review is only for dessert as we got to Victor late and many places were closing or already closed. This place came recommended for daily pies and this day they had either peach or blueberry. Hard to resist a la mode as the hot and cold just is such a nice thing. The peach pie hit the spot - wasn't super memorable but definitely home made fresh crust. This place looks like an interesting rustic setting with stage for live music. The food menu looked pretty good and the place seemed pretty crowded which indicates it's a local favorite.

    Bison burger and fries

We were visiting friends who live in Victor and they just raved about Knotty Pine. They've only lived here since March but this has become their restaurant of choice (and that's saying a lot - we visited a lot of good restaurants on our visit). My husband was determined to eat as much bison as he could this trip so we decided to share the bison burger. Since we were sharing, we ordered the 1 lb burger. Note to self - 1/2 lb would have been quite enough. Two 1/2 patties grilled to a perfect medium. We added provolone and mushrooms which took it over the top. It was served with fresh cut fries that were delicious. Though we didn't need it, our friends told us the mac and cheese was amazing. Since mac and cheese is a vegetable in the South, I have pretty high standards. Knotty Pine's would have fit right in at an Alabama "meat and three". We had way too much food and couldn't finish it all. Made me a little sad as it was so good. Our friends are originally from Alabama too and you can't take the southern out of a southerner. We are born with BBQ sauce for blood. The BBQ at Knotty Pine meets their high standards and they order it all of the time. They ordered a large BBQ combo plate to share. While her favorite is the BBQ chicken, it's not one of the meats available on the combo. While they had quite a bit less food than us, they still barely finished it. We shared a bottle of house red. It was as good as the rest of our meal. Although dessert sounded good, we just couldn't do it. We had a little wait for a table but once there, our service was great. They have live music but not on the night we visited. I honestly don't know if I'll ever be back to Victor - it's not the easiest of places to get to from my little airport. If I do though, the Knotty Pine will definitely be in the agenda.

Small combo plate. Burnt tips and pulled pork. Mashed potatoes with mushroom gravy and mixed veggies. Very very good.

We came here for dinner based on the Yelp reviews. Great choice. We came in early on a Saturday so it wasn't busy yet but by the time we left the place was hopping. The tables are well spread out so your aren't seated near anyone else. Our server was very friendly. I appreciated that she was very respectful with keeping her distance. Much appreciated in these Covid times. Three of us had a small combo plate. I had burnt ends (they are the ends of the brisket. Bit more fatty and flavorful with a nice char) and the pulled pork as my meats. I picked mashed potatoes with gravy and mixed vegetables as my sides. I love the burnt ends. So full of flavor. The pork was tender and had good flavor. The mashed potatoes and gravy were also really good. My kids had the brisket as one of their meats with their combo. It was flavorful but I would definitely pick the burnt tips over the regular brisket. My daughter said the cole slaw was really good too. Each of the plates came with pickles. They were crispy and chock full of great flavor. Both my kids had the fries and loved that they were crunchy. The portion sizes were large and we all left stuffed. All four of us said we would definitely come back. Come in. You will be glad you did.

    Nelson's Philly

Food was good. Onion rings were really good. Brisket was really good! That's saying something coming from a Texan lol. Pulled pork was meh. Philly was delish! Good prices, much cheaper than TX BBQ. Service very slow due to staffing, but our waitress tried her hardest. Would stop in again.

This was probably the best meal we had while visiting Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks…read more We had a day to explore the area and Grok (of all things/places) recommended visiting Victor and Driggs for the day. Kids had chicken tenders and the steak and fries. Both kids enjoyed their meal. The chicken tenders were huge and kid got 3 of them. The steak was about 5oz, which was a decent size for the kid. It came pre-cut, so the kiddo didn't have to handle a huge steak knife to cut it--which was nice. Both came with a generous serving of golden French fries. Fresh cut or frozen, these fries were good! Either a second ramekin of ketchup or a larger one is definitely needed for the amount of fries served. I had the burger. It wasn't fancy--just cheese, lettuce, tomato, and onions--but it was a thick patty with fluffy bun with lots of flavor. It also came with a ton of golden fries. My mom had the BLT that didn't skimp on the pork belly. I wish the stores sold thick cut bacon like that. She said it was delicious. Hubby had the lobster roll. The kids brought the purple potato chips were the neatest thing (they were good, too). The lobster roll was perfectly dressed--not too much and not too skimpy--and tasted surprisingly fresh. This place is a little more upscale than some of the other places we've eaten at this week. We were welcomed as we were--shorts and tees. Other guests were dressed casually, not overly fancy. The adjacent museum was a cool place to visit, too. It housed 3 restored Navy planes that were neat to see. Since we're headed home tomorrow, we won't be back, but if we were staying longer, we'd make the ~hour long drive just to eat there again!

However, our food experience was also mixed. We shared a soup du jour (potato bacon broth based) which was awesome. Parmesan fries app came as a generous portion and were pretty good as was our elderberry mocktail. The big disappoint was the tandoori chicken which the waitress recommended but we found to be very dry. It was described on the menu as having a yogurt marinate, which was already mixed into the dish, but we couldn't really taste it. The tabouli/rice that came with it was also dry and didn't have much taste. The waitress was nice and tried to get more sauce but when she couldn't, she brought olive oil and vinegar which was ok but at that point I would have just liked something different as it was pretty mediocre. Forage is a nice restaurant with some nice options but you should expect to spend a fair amount. I would expect the fine dining experience quality to match the price, but we had enough good food here that I would come back to try something different.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but this was one of the most frustrating restaurant experiences…read moreI've ever had. When we arrived, the restaurant was completely full, but it's a very small dining room with only about 10 tables. We only waited about 10 minutes to be seated, and after seeing the great Yelp reviews, we were excited to eat there. There was only one larger party of eight; the rest of the tables were small groups, so nothing suggested the kitchen was overwhelmed. We were seated at 6:10 p.m., ordered drinks, and placed our dinner order shortly afterward. Then...nothing. We waited so long that we ordered a second round of drinks, assuming our food would be arriving any minute. After finishing those drinks, we finally asked about our order around 7:30 p.m.--more than an hour after ordering. The response from the other server was disappointing. Without any real apology or concern, we were simply told it would be another 10-15 minutes because they "had lots of to-go orders." If the kitchen was prioritizing takeout over guests who had been sitting in the dining room for well over an hour, that should have been communicated from the beginning. Then 10 minutes later, to make matters worse, the other server to whom we inquired --not even ours--brought peppermints to the table to "help with our hunger." Whether it was intended as humor or not, it came across as incredibly insensitive given we'd been waiting 1 hour and 20 minutes. At that point, we asked for our bill for the drinks and decided to leave. Unsurprisingly, our food appeared almost immediately after we asked for the check. By then, the experience had completely ruined our appetite. Our actual server did apologize, and I appreciated that, but it was simply too late to salvage the evening. I've eaten at countless restaurants over the years, and I have never experienced anything quite like this. Long waits can happen, but a restaurant should communicate honestly, apologize sincerely, and make guests feel valued. Unfortunately, none of that happened here. We left disappointed and I feel the need to warn others. I felt bad for our actual server (who we tipped normally) because she couldn't help the delay in the kitchen or her coworker's behavior.

A thoroughly enjoyable evening and dinner…read more Possibly the best ribeye I've had in the past 10 years, but the other "foam and powder"aspects of the dish were just silly. The so called General Tso steak sauce was like a thimbleful smear and completely irrelevant. BBQ Ramen seasoning? Not even enough to get a taste profile of it. The trout with a green curry sauce was good but again, ummmm.... Trout has a subtle flavor. Green curry coconut sauce, and stuffed with another type of Asian something something....might as just as well better to use a neutral tasting fish like a better quality tilapia imho. Let trout taste like trout. Use a different, neutral tasting fish for these kinds of sauces and fillings. Well at least it wasn't covered with a garnish of micro greens lol. Just a little cilantro heh heh heh. I mean don't get me wrong. Both entrees were okay. But a waste of quality fish when a less costly fish would have been fine what with all those other flavors. And the foam and powder embellishments on the steak were barely noticeable. The whole menu reads like a community college cooking school graduate little bit of this little bit of that. When I get home I'm going to have fun writing the different components of all the menu items on index cards, shuffle, and see what combinations come up each time. And I love the idea of a General Tso steak sauce and want to try creating one. And using a packet of Ramen seasoning instead of Cajun seasoning sounds like a fun thing to try. I just won't do it on a fifty dollar piece of meat. If you are counting calories you skip the gross doughnut hole dessert. Dense ball of dough. Gummy. Like they used a cake doughnut recipe instead of a yeast doughnut or beignet recipe. But if not counting calories , go for it. It's fun to try the sauces, even if not that great a doughnut. Great, festive, lively ambiance . Super friendly staff and service.

Unfortunately, the bar was painfully slow. Our first round of drinks took about 15 minutes, and the second took closer to 30 minutes after ordering. We eventually had to check in to make sure they were even coming. The food was fine, but not something we'd come back for. The elk pasta lacked the depth and richness you expect from a bolognese. The trout--poblano stuffed and curry-prepared--was an interesting idea, but the curry completely overpowered the fish, making the dish feel unbalanced. We had curry-dusted trout at The Blue Lion earlier in the week that was far better. (One of the best trout meals I've ever had.)
