Man, this review is so late! I definitely procrastinated on writing it since the story is so long, but here it is. Last July, I got a frantic call from my little sister at about 3 am. She had been hanging out in the city with some friends when the car they went up in got broken into. They lost pretty much all of the personal items they'd left in the car. As a result, my sister lost her wallet, house key and the keys to one of the family cars that was now stranded in an ajoining town. Our folks were out of the country, so I decided that we should get our locks changed to be on the safe side. I looked up Knight's and called Keith later that morning and scheduled a visit for that afternoon. He let me know the prices of the work that needed to be done, the service charge, and how much keys would cost. He also assured me that the work would done on site. He was extremely upfront and professional. I left the conversation feeling very confident in my decision to book him. Unbeknownst to me, my sister called a completely different locksmith to arrive about 30 minutes before Keith. So the doorbell rings and one of my younger sibs comes and tells me that my sister needs me to come and talk to the locksmith. I was confused but just figured that Keith must've finished up a previous job earlier than expected. When I got to the living room I was greeted by my sister and some sketchy Joe from the block. He was wearing a plain white shirt and had no visual company identification whatsoever. And I could see from the window that the car he arrived in was similarly non-descript: a white Camry with no company logos. This guy set off so many red flags for me and definitely wasn't affiliated with Knight's Locksmith. The guy quoted us a price of  $400+ to change our 4 locks (this didn't even include the charge for coming out!). I asked him how he came up with those figures and mentioned the prices that I had seen from other locksmiths. He countered that he would need to take our locks off-site to get them fixed and that the price reflected labor costs and that he didn't have the authority to do a price reduction. I took my sister aside to get more information about how she found this guy. I looked up his number on the Web and only found a small blerb stating "Locksmith" with that phone number. No reviews, no website, nothing  that could validate his credentials. And he was expecting us to hand over all of our emergency fund that we still needed to tow our stranded car and get a new car key made :/  How about NOPE. I told him that we couldn't afford that, thanked him for his time and handed him the $45 service fee. Suddenly, this guy starts scrambling for our business. He says he will bring down the price to ~250. (EXCUSE? What happened to having no authority??) AND that he'd bring it down a few more Jacksons if we paid him in cash. NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE We exhausedly thank him for coming out and send him on his way, praying he would forget our address as fast as he forgot his moral compass. Half an hour later, the doorbell rings again and it's Keith! He is decked out in Knight's gear as is his van (which I call the Knight Mobile).  He comes in and goes over the prices with me again: rekeying is $20 per lock and replacement keys are $2.50 each. In addition to the service call fee, we only had to pay $150! God bless Keith! Keith also heard about the car situation and offered to make a replacement key for it! Unfortunately, our car model's key couldn't be copied since it had an electronic chip in it, but I was grateful that he even offered. And at the end of the appointment, he REFUSED the tip I offered him because we "have other things to worry about". And we did! I have never met anyone whose company name so aptly described their character! And a year later, our locks are still going strong and are miles better than our old locks ever were. I've never before left a yelp review, but that ends today, and that is because Keith provided one of the best professional experiences I've ever had - regardless of industry. I was locked out and decided to call one of those "1-800" locksmith numbers. After being sent a complete fraud who charged me $30 just for showing up and tried to quote me $300+ to drill through the lock without really trying to pick it, I decided to check yelp and Keith's reputation preceded him, so I gave him a call. Keith arrived promptly - literally to the minute. He explained every step of the process and unlike the previous guy, he carefully tried 4 or 5 different methods for picking the lock - each time explaining what he was doing, how it works and if it didn't work, what was the issue. After exhausting all other options, Keith drilled the lock, replaced it with one of his own and rekeyed my key to match it AT NO EXRTA CHARGE! All the while, we engaged in great conversation and since I was new to the area, he provided me with a ton of tips and advice. Great professional. Great person. Stand up guy. read more

Keith is The Best! He's very professional and friendly. I called Keith yesterday to take a look of my lock, it has 2 separate parts, the upper part is functioning ok, the lower part is broken. Keith arrived at 10am, exactly the time we set on phone. After checking my lock, he told me I don't have to spend extra money to replace the lower part, since the upper part is good enough for security. Then he found the bolt of the upper part doesn't fit very well into the door, and he very quickly fixed it. He also added oil to the lock. All at a very reasonable charge. High recommend! I bought two combination door locks from Home Depot and needed them installed. I found Knight's on Yelp, and set an appointment. The guy couldn't come out right away since he was on another job, but said he could come two hours later. I asked him to call me when he was on his way, and I went to Safeway to get my groceries. A guy named Keith called and showed up within 90 minutes, and had my locks installed fast. He even had a spare battery because the ones from Home Depot didn't work. One of my locks was a replacement for an existing deadbolt, and he had that done in minutes, but the second one was a fresh install on my side door. That took a lot longer because he had to drill holes in the door and the wall side, and chisel away wood for the plate. Then he got it installed and all lined up perfectly. Total time for both locks, one hour. Keith was pleasant and professional, and most importantly, ON TIME. Price was fair -- way faster and cheaper than the hours it would have taken my husband to figure out the install. Keith also showed me how to program the locks with any combination I want, or to delete combinations - and he didn't charge me for the extra lesson! Now I don't have to carry house keys anymore! With combo locks, I hope I don't have to call a locksmith again (no more lockouts, yay!) but if I do, I'll call Knight's, and ask them to send out Keith. read more

Absolutely wonderful! Our front door handle broke off so we needed to get it replaced immediately. We met with Keith and he took one look at our handle/lock system and knew exactly what to do. The locks we had were old and poorly made so ordering a new one didn't make sense. Keith replaced our locks and handles and keyed them to match our original keys for a great price. I have used Keith twice, and both times he went above and beyond the call of duty. When the key to my old Porsche snapped in the door I thought I was in for some typical Porsche dealer price gouging. But Keith was able to fish out the broken key and then make me a duplicate at no charge. The second time I found myself locked out of my house and Keith had to break the doorknob to get the door open. Now most places would have charged for the new replacement doorknob, but Keith gave me a new doorknob and 4 sets of keys all free of charge.
