An extensive renovation of our home necessitated storing most of our belongings including furniture, art, books, seasonal clothing, etc. A good friend recommended Klatt Moving & Storage. Scheduling was easy. A crew of five showed up at the appointed time. They expertly packed and loaded the truck, leaving us with a complete and legible list of what had gone to storage. Nine months later, the same happened in reverse. Thanks to that very legible list, every item was accounted for with zero damage of any kind. Klatt packed our furniture for a long distance move and it arrives like this. When asked, they said they can't insure anything that happened after they packed it. So buyer beware - is this the company you want to entrust your long haul move to? There is a litany of other problems with this company, but at the end, their packing and moving services left us with many thousands of dollars worth of damage, frustrating re-packs of previously packed Klatt packed items, and hours of phone calls seeking restitution. Edit: You can see that the business clearly believes their packing is unrelated to damage while a pod is moving. So if you're not using them for your end-to-end move, be aware they will disclaim any damage from poor packing. read more

They were on time, and so fast!! They moved all of my things onto their truck and took them to storage within a couple of hours I have yet to move them to their final destination, but I am sure that Klatt will continue with their great service, care, and expertise. Do not use this company if you are covid cautious. I said upfront that I wanted people to be wearing masks and vaccinated since I have small children and was told that would be the case. Several men showed up and none had masks and when I offered mine they refused to wear them. I had no choice but to move that day but they were incredibly rude and one guy walked off the job. They spent about 20 min sitting around and deciding whether to do the job at all because I had asked them to wear masks. I texted the company to say what a difficult experience I had. Amazing company!! Before we chose Chris and his company for this move, we interviewed three companies on site and reviewed their quotes. This being our tenth move, we had a few specific details we knew to look for. Chris's quote was not the lowest, but we felt it was the most realistic based on his review of our property and packing/unpacking needs. When we received our invoice, there were no unpleasant surprises, as would undoubtedly have been the case with one of the other options. From the moment his crew drove up, I knew we'd chosen the right movers. They were punctual and polite, efficient and sure-handed. They asked questions when they knew an item may be something my family might need on hand, instead of packed away in a box somewhere. The guys were kind hearted and funny, putting us all at ease as we watched all of our valuable possessions (either sentimentally or monetarily) and temporarily disappear into cardboard. They treated our belongings and our homes as if they were their own. I had concerns about logistics since this was our first in-town move (typically it's cross country, and that's a different experience). Chris magically appeared on site each time I felt any anxiety, and he quickly put my nerves at ease. Klatt Moving and Storage is by far the best moving company we have partnered with in ten moves. Klatt movers were a huge disappointment to me. We have made 19 moves over 6 different countries in recent decades and this was the worst, by far. It started well enough - they are pleasant, charming people. But as the weeks went on, in between the smiles, they never quite managed to bring us a contract and after they had packed and put all our items on their truck, Klatt suddenly insisted they needed $2,000 more (43% higher than original quote). We had no choice, the new owners were about to move in so we had to paid the extra money. In Colorado, the first day of the packing went well but on the second day a totally new group of people appeared, and they patronized me rudely when I tried to explain what items needed to stay and which items to pack. So, everything got screwed up -they left items which should have been packed and pack an gas grill which was supposed to stay. I had to bring items which they had left to their office 25 minutes away. The actual delivery from Colorado to California went worse. Klatt's men stayed only a few hours to unload the truck and then turned everything over to people they had hired locally to do complete the reassembling of furniture and organizing the boxes in some sort of order. They did not even arrange to pay for these local workers - this was left to us and Klatt has never reimbursed us. Nor did they provide any assistance to get rid of the empty cartons or packing materials. There was breakage due to poor packing and missing furniture parts but despite Klatt's initial smiling promises I have not heard from them since the day after the move - 6 weeks ago. Klatt came highly recommended by a friend who is not easily impressed. Klatt gave a 3-man 6-hour bid by that was better than a four-man bid by Berg that turned out more realistic. The movers themselves were more professional, harder working than crews I had seen 10 years ago. However, after three hours passed without much progress, I asked what was going on. They said it was going to go faster as they completed some packing. Within a half hour, one of the co-owners showed up at the house and lectured me on not having enough packed and telling they would have to bring another truck the next week.. I didn't have as much packed as I thought, but they didn't even touch the boxes I had packed. Promptly at 5 pm they called it a day with half the job remaining at the old house. I was ready to pay for then to stay but I was given the impression the co-owner didn't want them working late. The moving crew said they would do me a big favor and come back that Sunday. Fortunately, friends stepped in, i hired a friend's college kid for heavy lifting and the process was done by that Sunday. Had there been another occupant moving in immediately, it would have been a disaster. I later ran into a former neighbor who also had a bad experience with Klatt except her crew stayed on the job to 11 the night of the move. Bottom line: Klatt low- bids. Moved from Denver to Boulder, and used Klatt on the recommendation of a coworker. I have no idea what the negative reviews are about. The three guys showed up right on time, were extremely conscientious, and highly professional. The cost was exactly what I was told it would likely be given what they have to do and where they had to go to come and get my stuff. Jeremy and his crew were simply outstanding. Used these guys to move last weekend and they were fantastic. I was very pleasantly surprised with how quickly they loaded and unloaded, despite having to do both via stairways instead of a conveniently placed elevator. I got several phone calls in the weeks and days ahead of the move confirming the appointment, getting details on the move and generally letting me know that they'd be there and when. They were a few minutes later than expected, but as it had snowed the night before with plummeting temps, that was expected. They were also very good about putting down mats and padding to make sure that they didn't stain the new carpet when unloading into the new place. Well done, I'd certainly recommend them. read more

Aviod Klatt at all costs!!! These movers came highly recommended from a long-time friend of the family whom I trust. They had been contracted to move my elderly parents from Loveland to Longmont, and continue on to Castle Rock to finish the job and unload 7 pieces of furniture and 3 boxes. The week of the move, they changed the plan to pack my parents on one day, bring the furniture to Castle Rock, and then move everything else in my parents house the next day. Understand that I had to pay for them to drive from Boulder to Loveland and then pay for the drive to return to Boulder at $100/hr. I didn't understand why that decision was made other than for them to make more money. They quoted 5-6 hours for the job to move the furniture to Castle Rock, and ended up charging me for 7 hours. When I talked to 'Chris' on the phone after getting the bill and he was very unprofessional, arguing with me about the 'industry standards', and offered to take fifty dollars off 'if I stopped yelling at him'. Having moved to CR earlier in the month, I was familiar with moving companies, and was appalled at his demeanor with a customer. These movers arrived at the Loveland residence at 9, loaded and left by 10:30, but instead of driving to the interstate, they drove down to Longmont and took a break, left Longmont at 11:30 (they called me to tell me this), and not arriving in Castle Rock until 12:30. They had the furniture unloaded in an hour. Immediately I found another moving company (that I used to move myself) to move my parents. In my opinion, when I'm paying $100/hr, for people to drive to my house, I want them to 1. take the most direct route. 2. not to change the plan into 2 days, and have to pay them to drive back and forth again, especially when its costing me $200 each round trip. Chris had the opportunity to keep the job (bigger move) with my parents, but instead, he wanted to squeeze me for everything he could. His unprofessional attitude was intolerable and I'm grateful to have found another mover for my elderly parents. read more

I was given a $130/hr - 3 man estimate. Without any communication prior to move day, a 4 man crew was sent and I was charged $160/hour. I respectfully voiced my concern and frustration with the owner over this discrepancy. The response was unprofessional, disrespectful, and rude. I ended up having to pay far more per hour than the estimate I agreed to. Very unsatisfied and feeling swindled Ownership and management is dishonest to their customers and also to their hardworking employees. read more

OUTSTANDING!!!!! HIGHEST RECOMMENDATIONS! I have used Klatt for 3 moves over 7 years and they have been consistently wonderful. This past week I had to help move my mother and sister out of a large house. It was a very, very, very complex move in which items had to be distributed to 5 different places at a pace that was far faster than any of us would have liked. I called Klatt to do the move, because I knew they would be able to handle it. Ralph Bailey, the sales manager, came out to give us a bid and his calm demeanor and his professional competence made us all feel emboldened that we could get this impossible task done. And get it done we did with Ralph consistently checking in on our needs (even after he broke a wrist and was going in for surgery, he called just before to check on us!!! This is what commitment looks like!) The movers Trent and Tim along with numerous other movers were outstanding! They were committed, professional, hardworking and kind with us in our sometimes crazy moments. A few of the movers even stayed overtime to help with boxing and labelling so we could get out of the house in time. And Ralph was able to expand and contract the teams/trucks we needed over this 5 day move. Klatt is owned by Chris Klatt who clearly knows how to run a company. Klatt is a solid team of really lovely, real people. Sharon is the General Manager and the point person on the phone and she is really good at being able to answer questions and solve problems and do the billing. As for the price, I was delighted at the bid Ralph gave us and I thought for sure the actual move would far exceed the bid because it was so complicated. But at the end, our moving team leader Trent told us that our move looked like it came in very close to the bid. I will call Klatt for all my moving needs. Klatt makes me believe that there still are companies who care and who will do what it takes to get the job done right and on time. I have moved 3 times in the last 5 years. Each time besides the last I hired some labor off of Uhaul's website to load and unload. This was roughly $200 each time, so $400 for the labor, plus tips and the Uhaul truck rental. I recently hired Klatt moving to move my 2 bedroom rental in Lafayette to our new home in Loveland. The movers were to arrive the day of the closing. I greeted them and gave them some direction before leaving for the closing, and my husband was going to stay behind with the dogs and answer any questions they had. The dogs were acting like maniacs, so most of the time he had to spend in a room with them so they wouldn't continually bark. One week before the move, the owner, Ralph Bailey, came out and gave me a quote. I told him my concerns and he made me feel like I could trust his team to get it done. He quoted me $1100 for everything, which is more than I've ever spent on a move, but I figured that I was buying peace of mind, and I wouldn't have to do much on my closing day. When I was done with the final walk through and heading to the closing, my husband told me that they were done and heading to lunch, and that they left a bunch of stuff behind. The guy had called him out of the room and asked him to sign the paper. He said "you can read it if you want," but my husband said he trusted him and signed it. As soon as he had the signature, he left and they were on their way to lunch. I don't think he realized he should have gone to double check everything, because we told them everything needed to go except a few things we labeled and my husband's computer. Well, it turns out they left the projector screen, a large dehydrator, a curl bar, a skateboard, 4 suitcases filled with clothes, tool bags, the dartboard (understandable, I guess, since it was screwed in the wall in the garage), and a bunch of other things. My husband had to tell them to get a storage cabinet in the bathroom, too. I originally had planned on coming back to get my husband, the dogs, and the few items we asked them to leave, but after a long day of driving back and forth between Lafayette and Loveland twice already, both times with a full load, we ended up having to make two more trips (one the same evening, and one the next day) to get everything they had left. There was an entire closet under the stairs that they didn't bother even opening the door to, and left some of the bigger items in there. My husband said they didn't seem interested in grabbing anything that wasn't in a box, but obviously some things cannot fit in a box, and the dehydrator itself IS a large box. We had moved almost everything into the garage for the movers to make it easier on them, and to make our rental showable. For the amount of money I ended up spending ($1040), I feel like they should have grabbed everything, and I shouldn't have to make 2 extra trips (168 miles, not counting the original extra trip I had planned on making) to go back and get the stuff they left. I seriously hate to complain, but for that price, they should have moved everything. I'm just very disappointed that I had to go back two more times, when I should have been enjoying my new house, and I thought I was paying extra for a stress-free experience. Everything else about the move was good. They put everything where it needed to go, setup the bed and support pieces underneath, and didn't break anything that I'm aware of.
