Brian came out ahead of time to survey my place for the estimate and assess the route since I lived off of dirt roads. Actually I moved to Boulder CO in 2020 and hired The Good Move in 2023 to move several pieces of heavier furniture (e.g., queen bed, double dresser) a 7-minute drive from my original Boulder location. I had packed and moved all the rest of my stuff. I was happy that they were willing to move a smaller load a short distance. Especially since the other estimate I got was for twice the price. Mainly because they insisted on packing every piece (including crating several of them) as if they were being transported across the country. There is a small cost to not fully packing each item - in the form of a couple scratches. But best of all, when it appeared that the under-bed drawers to my bed had been damaged, Brian came out immediately and fixed them. I really appreciated that! read more

NOT A PROFESSIONAL MOVING COMPANY. Once they have your money, that's it. In my case, THE GOOD MOVE, was NOT a good move. i used them to move all of my Artwork that was in Storage to my new home. This was before using them shortly afterwards to move the contents of my home as well. Five items were broken then which I photographed and gave forgiveness. They have a ridiculous rule that says you're to report all broken items within 48 hours! I pose the question: How many people totally unpack ALL their contents within 2 days??? I am a disabled Senior citizen and could barely move for 3 days following this major move!!! So, after 2 months and a lot of help, my living quarters were unpacked. I just recently began working on my Artwork only to discover a $400 piece of 3-dimensional Artwork totally smashed in behind much heavier framed pieces of works. It cannot be repaired nor replicated. I thought I had hired a 'professional moving company.' I texted the Owner of THE GOOD MOVE, Mr Brian Richards, about the breakage asking, as a professional Artist, to be paid the $400 for the breakage and heard nothing back. I contacted A Good Move for a quote and they were prompt getting back to me. We waited a few days to muse and Ashley contacted me to let me know that someone else was looking at the same day as I but I had first choice if I wanted it. We decided to go for it and was quoted a flat rate for the truck, moving supplies (including tons of blankets and dolly), crew, and miles which was really refreshing compared to the itemized quotes I received from many companies. On the day of the move they were an hour late but made sure to communicate that with me very early in the morning. They were a man short and doing their best to overcome that challenge. We were able to move our 2bed/2bath condo to our new home in 3 hours!!! They even made sure to change the price since we were initially quoted for 3 men instead of the the 2. They didn't mind that my husband and friend worked right along side them and they really fast! Worst service ever. Please stay far far away. Came with 2 men and NO DOLLY.Very slowly picked one box at a time. Charged us 750$ afted 7hours of job and did not even move half the stuff. Said there truck was full and apparently we have too much stuff ( isn't that the very reason to call movers to help!!..How much stuff can a 1000 SQ FT APARTMENT have?) Also scratched /damaged our entry way shoe cabinet. Mind you we didnt even have any major furniture... ! We had to hire different movers next day to finish the lousy job they did. Very stressful to find movers at tge last minute . Thankfully we found amazing movers who finished everything in just 3 hours and 250$ We had to spend 900 $ for an average sized move because of Mr Brian and his horrible service. I called the Good Move after being referred through a mutual friend (who had not used their services). We had moved a house full of belongings into the two car garage, sent pics of the stuff and listed, as per request, the heavy and awkward items. The quote was in line with other movers we have used and we set the date/time for The Good Move to remove the stuff from the garage, drive it to Boulder from Longmont and place the items into the house. They showed up on time but almost immediately began complaining about the heaviness of some items even though they had ZERO stairs out of the garage and into the truck. They refused to take various items then told us they would not be able to move a couple of items they did put in the truck, up stairs at the new place... even when "upstairs" was two steps from the garage to the mud room! The lead guy told me over the phone (on the way to the Boulder house) he had a back injury and didn't want to squash his fingers against the wall if they took a book case up the stairs. I pushed back and said expectations at the onset of the job were that the movers would move the items (including the heavy items) into the appropriate rooms of the house ...and then he hung up on me then called his boss/owner, Brian to complain about me. During the following call from Brian I felt I was being treated like I bullied his movers and that I was the problem. In the end I compromised and my bookcase found a new home on the first floor and I personally removed the drawers from dressers that were too heavy for them otherwise. They then scratched deeply my 3 day old wood floors and finally left. Over the next few days I found several furniture items were damaged - even the light items! The bill was $1120. The "estimate" for the job was $650. Brian couldn't understand why a surprise of almost another $500 didn't make me happy. But then again he apparently didn't know he hired a guy with a back injury and he believed them when they said they didn't take lunch ... even though 3 guys and a truck took 75 minutes to drive 15 miles from Longmont to Boulder. When I told my neighbor the surprise end price she said "I watched them out my front window. Those two strapping young men carried one cushion at a time slowly from the truck into the house. Of course it took 2 hours longer than it should have. I've never seen anything like it." In summary: Slow, expensive, rude and unreasonable. Read before you hire these guys! I called Brian after The Good Move came highly recommended. I explained we would be moving across the country and I needed someone to pack my house and the truck appropriately for long distance and then storage for a bit under a hot sun. He recommended padding for all the furniture, which he then offered to buy and bill back to me in the final invoice, and I requested our mountain bikes be loaded vertically and packed in the truck last. Everything seemed to run smoothly from start to finish. Imagine my surprise when we finally unloaded the truck a month later and my furniture had been plastic wrapped but not padded as discussed AND our bikes were loaded horizontally in the middle of the truck between a wrought iron bed frame and wood furniture. The gears and frames were bent and broken, and the wood furniture was gouged and destroyed. Furthermore, our kitchen table that was supposed to have been padded, had the plastic wrap they used melted to it from heat exposure while in storage. I contacted Brian upset bc he and I discussed padding the furniture, how to pack the bikes, and that the truck would sit loaded in the sun for at least 30 days upon arrival. This was blatant incompetence. He has since refused conversation toward resolution, and has been dismissive of my claims. I have no idea how my stuff would have fared in a short haul move, but he knew and agreed from the beginning the steps we needed to protect my bikes and heirloom furniture for long distance. Brian's incompetence has cost me $15k in damages so far and since he's already been paid, he could care less. Good luck if you hire this company - I hope your experience is better. Editing to add a response to owner response in case it is valuable information to someone looking to hire The Good Move: The insurance company actually found you liable but you did not carry any coverage for your negligence. I am happy to forward you the voicemail that was left relaying that information. And you decided to pack the truck (not a pod - a 28ft moving truck) with a lack of consideration to the way we discussed and agreed would care for my furniture and bikes, and the damage I am reporting is in fact from your negligence and incompetence, not anyone else's. If you would like to have a conversation, I am all ears. I communicated as you requested and my emails remain unanswered. As you have told me the matter is closed, and you will no longer discuss it, I am forced to seek alternative recourse. An accurate review of your services is part of that recourse. Maybe it will save someone else the hassle of the aftermath of your blatant disregard for their possessions. And a negative review of poor service and a desire to recoup the damage you have caused is not abusive, it is the normal response when someone experiences the reality of incompetence that cost top dollar. read more

These guys did get the job done and we appreciated their carefulness with all furniture and boxes. However, they were an hour late. Something about running out of gas. When I called Brian, he reiterated that fact but never apologized for their being late or offered up any sort of comfort about movers showing up. Our quote for 4 to 5 hours was 6 hours. Movers took 45 minutes for a 20 minute drive. I understand they have to drive slower due to big truck. Of course I wanted to still tip the guys because they did work hard. Received a quote immediately, excellent contact all the way through. All paperwork seamlessly done on line. Movers showed up early, finished early and HUSTLED. They are FAST. We only needed a dozen pieces of furniture moved from the house to our garage but they were large and heavy. They wrapped everything to protect it from dust and packed it so well we still have room to navigate. We had a great experience hiring The Good Move to move our family locally earlier this December 2017. The original price quote was more than what I had budgeted for, so I communicated that with Brian, who was flexible and willing to shorten the estimated hours in order to fit the plan in my budget. It took 3 men and one truck to fit our whole 4-bedroom house. The movers were a young crew; they were courteous and easy to work with. They brought shrink wraps and mattress bags, and they padded down the hallway and the railing, and they wrapped all my furniture (even our old scratched-up dining chairs) before moving any piece. They were careful not to scratch or bump our things or the new house, and they were meticulous about putting boxes and furniture where they should belong - they even figured out which end of the mattress has the tag before putting it down on the bed.
