I asked them to consolidate the boxes and they stacked boxes on top of garbage bags full of clothes, on top of my telescope, and on top of things like toilet paper. It would be more effective to seperate boxes from softer items and line perimeter of the room so I can find stuff. But the kid looked like he was 17. I sorted a maze but I still cannot find 1/3 pieces of my bed frame. I texted the mover. Nothing. I just don't understand...2024 sucks. read more

My experience with Boulder All Star Movers (BAM) was... fine. I booked with BAM based on reviews and the quote that was provided, and it seems like I had a different experience than many others on this site. I was moving from a 2 bedroom apartment to a house (~4 miles apart), and was quoted 4 hours for 3 movers & 1 truck. Prior to the move, I actually moved a majority of items myself-- so ended up only having 5 boxes and furniture (compared to my initial estimate of 25 boxes & furniture). The movers were supposed to arrive at 9am-- they did not arrive until 9:30am (no phone call letting me know they would be late). Upon arrival, one of the men walked into my items, causing him to spill his coffee... which splashed onto my white walls and onto the floor. He started cursing, and did not offer to help clean it up (I had to return to my apartment afterwards to scrub my walls & floor). After taking an assessment of my items, they proceeded to start blasting hip hop music... which would have been fine, had they asked my permission prior. Also, a couple of times during the move, they asked me if I could load some items into my car?! I was baffled... as this is why I hired movers in the first place! After completing the move to my new house, I was notified that they went 30 minutes over the estimated time, which was an additional $75 charge. Normally, this would be OK, but 1) I actually OVER estimated the amount of belongings I had to move, and 2) they stated they left their facility at 8:45am (and didn't arrive until 9:30am). There's no way their facility is 45 minutes away from my apartment in Boulder, and they all also arrived with fresh coffee. I'm all for grabbing coffee.. just don't charge me for that time. On the flip side, all of my items arrived at my new house... and nothing was damaged or missing. So at least there's that. I just wish the movers were a bit more professional. read more

Awkward service when workers are fighting among themselves on the job. 2. Stand right there at end of the job to collect tip and request review. 3. Break your stuff and go through a whole insurance documentation process to refund you but never actually follow up. My guess is their ratings are over inflated because of #2. This is a strange review to write; was definitely a weird experience. We had moved internationally and left many things in storage (used a different moving company). We decided to stay international so we came back to ship more of our things and donate our furniture to habitat for humanity. They showed up on time. We had cream couches and they did not put any blankets down when moving the couches and just slid them in the truck as well as left them on the asphalt. There were stains on the couches. I cannot say all of them were caused by them but I know some of them were. They blamed the previous movers. When I checked out, they had no original pics to show damage and one of the guys told the other to just take one pic for previous condition; this was end of day as I was signing out. Really felt underhanded. I had another mover ask me for these expensive Adirondack chairs. I said I had committed to the charity who was taking everything. He seemed put out. When we got to the charity he asked again - I told Him to work it out with the charity and maybe they would sell to him. When we got to last stop I noticed the chairs in their truck, he said they said he could take them as I told him he could have them. I literally told him to work it out with the charity. Lastly, they left 3 pieces of furniture in the storage - 2 chairs and the top to the hutch that was donated. He told me they only left one chair and I only found out about the rest when I went to close out at storage. I think they left them on purpose so the one guy could keep them. These were for charity and I can only imagine why they left them. I bet they never made it to habitat. I would never use this company again. I liked two of the movers but again - they should have done much more to protect the furniture. The 3rd mover gave the attitude that he should be entitled to my nice furniture because I was donating it. With the stuff they took, they should have paid me. read more

I've used BAM now three times for different kinds of moves and every time I'm beyond impressed. I get that moving is expensive, but these guys are so considerate and careful with belongings that I want them to get every cent. I had Henry, Cole and Giovanni helping with everything (even a giant, awkward sofa fitting through an extremely narrow, 100+-year-old door and we just don't make doorways that small anymore! I had a mixed experience with this company recently in the move of my home and upright piano. When I originally booked this company, I warned them of the size and weight of the piano and offered to send pictures of it in order to help them prepare for the move of the piano. They reassured me they move pianos all the time and that wouldn't be necessary. On the day of the move, the crew did an amazing job quickly moving everything, except for the piano. They spent about an hour trying to get it out of the house but the crew explained they didn't have any of the proper equipment or manpower to move the piano. They told me they couldn't do it that day and they would have to come back another day. When I spoke with the owner, he told me he would only minimally charge me for labor for another day. About a week later, the crew came to move the piano again, with the proper equipment, and did such an amazing job. Thanks Adrian, Leroy, Matt, and Alex. However, I was charged an additional $625 on top of the original price I was charged for the move of the piano/home and I felt very misled. This was a huge mistake by the owner, not the crew's fault whatsoever. The crews that work for this company are professional, kind, and hard working. However, the owner really unapologetically messed up this job and I had to pay a significant amount over the quote for his lack of oversight on this move. I wouldn't use this company again, but hope that the crews get the praise they deserve. read more

Could not have asked for a better experience. Called the office to see if they have opening 5 days before we needed to love our move to assisted living. They were available and was given instructions on how to book online. The crew called and asked if they could come early which was awesome for us. If there were 10 stars I would have given this outfit 10 stars. I've moved a lot .... Cross country 5 times to be exact. The first time my husband drove so all fine. 2nd and 3rd and 4th time we used affiliates of a major van line. Each time was a little worse than the first. The last move off CA to CO was an epic disaster. I don't think folks know what they get with BAM unless you've experienced the other side. Let me give you a small picture. The driver (NOT employees like BAM) crammed 3 households into his truck. He arrived 9!! Hours late and better yet arrived speaking on Face Time with his girlfriend while driving an 18 wheeler down a residential street. He had no people to help him unload so he went to Home Depot and picked up 2 people that kept saying "we aren't movers". He broke 3 lamps, "lost" my daughter's snowboard equipment, stole a necklace, .... My stand up desk after he put it together was LITERALLY spitting parts off it. The driver picks it up and throws it in the truck and says "I'll give you a $100". I can go on but you get the picture. With BAM I actually was sad to see the drivers leave. Never thought I'd say that. They packed - CAREFULLY- and helped me put furniture and carpets away. Not a thing was ruined. They were on time and ... are lovely people. Over $1k to move boxes from a storage unit to a condo less than 1/2 mile away. I asked for 3 movers to expedite the process. The guy on the phone said it should take 3 hours or less. Of the 3 guys, 1 stayed in the truck most of the time on his phone "overseeing" the process. When he wasn't on the truck he was taking things out of packed boxes and taking pictures of everything to show what they didn't damage. He spent over an hour taking pictures and this company charges by the hour. I was not told this was part of their process. He did this before they loaded anything and again before unloading my items. They also unwrapped our mattress which we had put in a full mattress cover before putting in storage. For some reason, they removed the plastic wrapping and it arrived covered in dirt. One mover was actually strong and productive and I appreciated him. The 3rd guy was quite small/weak and slow and was 100% not worth paying for. Do not waste your money paying for a 3rd mover with this company. It took them over 6 hours to move my items that were literally all packed and ready to be loaded and unloaded in very close proximity. I think it was because I paid for 3 movers and only 1 of them actually did their job. This company came highly recommended to me and I was very disappointed. read more

I was thrilled to find that Boulder All Star Movers did interstate moves with the philosophy of a dedicated team and truck, just as with their local area moves. I was responsible for getting my 90-yr-old mother's 2-bedroom condo moved from Longmont to Chicago. BAM sent a 7-man crew to pack/load (Omar, Cameron, Brayden, Zeek, Emilio, Will, and John L} because they knew the condo was full of antique furniture and a lifetime of delicate treasures. Our crew was professional, careful, and diligent with their work. Knowing exactly when my mother's belongings would arrive in Chicago was an incredible benefit. I was able to fly to Chicago to meet Will, Zeek and John just 2 days later for the unloading. Everything arrived safely & in perfect condition. My mom and family are grateful for their hard work on our behalf during a difficult life transition. read more

If you're someone who is strapped for money, DO NOT use this company. To start, this is my first time using a moving company. I usually move myself, but since my new place has stairs, I knew I wouldn't be able to move my larger furniture myself. However, I did spend hours moving everything but a few pieces of my larger furniture (8-10 pieces total). I don't have a lot of money to spare, so it was important that I used their time wisely. Up front, I was told to book 4 hours even though I knew I wouldn't use it all. They said they would just reimburse me for the unused time. I knew they charged from the time they leave their facility until the time they returned, but I had researched a lot of places and found that they were the closest. The movers showed up and were really friendly and made sure to wrap everything and move it. The actual moving of the furniture was great and they took good care of it. At the end, the head mover told me that it would only cost $500 and I would get $100 back (they charged $600 when I made the reservation). Although I was hoping to get more back, I was still happy that I was getting the $100. Unfortunately, that never came, but in the meantime I got the summary of the trip. I noticed I was charged starting at 1:35pm and they had arrived at 2:40pm so right there I paid $150/hour for them to drive to me when I know they are only 15-20 minutes away. I emailed asking about this charge and finally got a response back over a week later. When I got the response, they had noted that they did arrive at 2:37 and it was only a 19 minute drive (which means I would have gotten money back). THEN, they pushed back the end time (the summary said 5:46pm) and said they left my apartment at 5:51pm and it took 13 minutes to get back to the shop. Therefore, justifying their charge for all of that time. The guys finished around 5:15pm, but their iPad overheated and it took at least 20 minutes to cool down. They even put it in my freezer after awhile. After it finally turned on, they also got logged out so they had to call the office to get back in. All of this took about 30 minutes, which means I paid $75 to watch them do this because he had now changed the end time to include the iPad debacle. Some people may not think all of this is a big deal because it's only $150 or so, but that goes a long way for me. I can't afford to pay $150 for them to just show up or $75 while their iPad cools down and they log in. I have a feeling since I was talked into reserving 4 hours, that they thought it was fine charging that. So in the end I paid $600 + tip for them to move 8-10 pieces of furniture 15 minutes down the road and I learned a valuable lesson. I just wanted to share my experience so that others, like me, who don't have endless pockets of money, can choose another company who will respect your time and money more. UPDATE: The time they got from the GPS charges me for the time their workers waited for their iPad to turn on because it was overheated as I mentioned above. They even had to use my freezer after awhile because it was taking so long. They then got logged out and had to call the office to log back in. So I paid $75 to watch this. They said they would follow up with their workers to see if that actually happened, but of course I never heard anything. read more

Our crew was Jason, Roger and Rick. I can't believe how helpful and nice the guys were. They took such great care of my things and my new apartment. They took the time to make sure everything was exactly where I wanted and we were happy with absolutely everything. They had excellent teamwork and communication throught the move. We called very last minute for help in our move. Our friends backed out of their commitment to help us. We thought this was a bad thing however, Boulder All Star Movers stepped up and saved us! Thank you! We called at 5:00 the night before, a very kind and compassionate lady answered. She told us she had two movers available for 9am the next morning to help us unload our truck. Jonas and Kyle called us the next morning when they were 10 minutes from our first location (we were directing them to our final destination). They showed up on time, got over to our destination with no hassles, got all of our truck unloaded up Three flights of stairs with absolutely no trouble at all. They were clean cut young men, no smells of any kind of smoking, they wore their masks the entire time and they took great care of our personal boxes and furniture. They made sure to place our items where we wanted them and they took care of paperwork quickly. WE HIGHLY ENCOURAGE CALLING AND BOOKING BOULDER ALL STAR MOVERS! With so many moving companies, I was a little nervous picking one that would be legit. BAM was very responsive and informative and an all-around amazing experience. I am used to paying a deposit, so paying the entire estimated amount upfront caught me a little offgaurd, but I still kept my confirmation. They called to let me know they were on the way. I couldn't decide if I wanted them to move my pictures/paintings and TVs, but I decided to include those and they wrapped them very well. They also stopped at a second location no problem and completed the entire move with 30 minutes to spare. I would use them again in a heartbeat! Very well priced, nice guys and did a great job. My only advice would be to really think about your moving needs and estimate the accurate number of time, truck size and employees, because I could see if you underestimated, it may be more costly than expected. I noticed that in other reviews, but I think as long as you are realistic about how much stuff you have and how well you packed/organized for them, as well as planned for the right size move, you can't go wrong! read more

Leroy, Daunte, and Ryan were great! They arrived on-time, and were careful with all of our stuff and hustled everything down two flights of stairs. We were only moving a mile from a 2br apt to a house, and I was quoted for 5 hrs with the 3 men and the truck and thought that was a lot, but ended up being just the right amount of time. I chose to move with this company in December of 2018 due to the great reviews. I knew I'd have to pay for their time in traffic getting from Boulder to Denver, but thought having professionals would be worth the extra cost. Boy was THAT a terrible idea. They sent two very young men to my apartment. I told them in advance that I had 2 difficult pieces : a West Elm Platform Bed and a Room & Board sleeper sofa - they would need to break these down and re-build them in the new place. I had moved these pieces one other time from Chicago to Colorado with no problems, and broken down/built in under an hour. But these guys do NOT know how to build professional furniture. It took them 2 hours+ on both ends - which I was charged for that time when a professional would've been able to do it in half the time. They were also incredibly unprofessional: they lost some of their tools at the old apartment and tracked dirt in to the brand new carpet of my new apartment. They are not detail oriented and at the time, I just wanted the ordeal to be over since I was a single woman dealing with these 2 fools in my home. I tipped them a standard amount for their work, little did I know until a year later what they had done to my furniture... I just moved again and when breaking down the bed, they completely RUINED my $800 West Elm bed. They stripped all the screw holes and screw heads because they just muscled them in at the wrong angles - some of the screws we could barely get out because the hexagon head was now a circle and could barely get a grip. Also because they put the screws and feet on at an incorrect angle, the distribution of weight from the bed was not correct - and one corner is completely destroyed and the foot has fallen off. I would not recommend this company unless you have crap furniture that you don't mind getting destroyed - but even then, be wary that they dilly-dally around to increase their time with you to charge you more. read more

Found these guys from their great reviews on Yelp, but also got a recommendation from a friend that recently moved too. I needed to get my house sale ready, which meant taking a bunch of stuff out of my house to make it look staged. I called around and had to explain myself at each call. When I called Boulder All Star Movers, they knew exactly what I needed and how long it would take them. They told me to reserve online (super easy) and to over estimate the time but that they only charge for the time they take. I was refunded within a week for the hour they didn't use. The guys that showed up at our house were friendly, efficient and even helped with setting up a bed frame we had taken out of storage. We plan on using them again for our moving out move. We hired Boulder All Star movers for a small move and we had to make a couple changes to our reservation and each time, their customer service was outstanding. They were so helpful. Our two movers, Jacob and Marcus, arrived perfectly on time and they gave us a heads up when they left the their station to let us know they were on the way. They were very careful with everything but worked quickly and efficiently and were very kind and helpful. They actually finished under our time quote so it was even less than we thought. Speaking of cost, Boulder All Star movers were among the best priced moving companies that I researched and they had the best reviews as well. Now I know why! Let me put it this way: I paid $350 up front to have a pool table moved. the pool table was not moved. The company offered no refund. I am out $350. I thought about this review for more than a week and consulted several local business folks to ask what I should do. They implored me to write this. I want to be fair to a local business. But I'm told this is terrible. So here are the facts: Weeks ago, I called to ask if the company could move my pool table. I was told that the table needed to be disassembled to be moved. During that call, I told the owner of the moving company that I'd had the legs and bumper removed. I don't know much about pool tables so wasn't sure if that was disassembled or not. The owner told me that the table could be moved and I should sign up for the minimum of two hours. When the three-person team arrived, they told me they could not move the table. They put me in touch with the owner, who told me that he had to pay his crew and therefore I was stuck. He told me that he'd move the table if I ever got it disassembled. He told me that would take 30 minutes. They left. it cost me $550 to get the table disassembled and moved by a different and GREAT company, Straight Shot Pool. That doesn't include the $350 that all-store movers took from me. I should be clear: even if all-star movers paid its labor for the few minutes the workers were here, it also took its cut. In short, I'd advise finding another moving company. Think of it this way: I already subsidized them more than $300. So you don't owe them a damn thing. read more

We hired them to pack and move locally from Longmont to Lafayette, and they did an excellent job. They had 6 men and 2 trucks. The move-from house in Longmont is a historic house in the Old Town and features some extremely narrow stairways, which they navigated very carefully. They accidentally did a tiny amount of damage at each house, but came back and fixed it right away. Their "customer care" is very good. read more

This was a quick and efficient "within-the-house" moving experience, putting furniture back after getting new hardwood floors in our living room. I lined up the team just a few days before the move, and three guys arrived to move our piano into place, as well as a large armoire and a heavy recliner chair. I was concerned to make sure the new floors weren't damaged in any way, and they were very careful to ensure that. They were in and out quickly, and all went well. It was a flat 2-hour rate for a team of three (required, for the piano), and it only took about 20 minutes, but even so, I was glad to pay it to get the job done carefully and quickly. read more

Let's just hit the bullet points. 1- I've never seen 3 people move so slow in my whole life. 2- they asked if they needed to wear their masks I said yes they complained and took them off anyway except for one of them. 3- A lot of these boxes were moved previously put in storage and we're getting moved again they were professionally packed and not damaged in the last move. These guys were just throwing stuff in the pod. When my husband asked them to please put the heavy stuff on the bottom and the light stuff on top they said it would be fine and just kept throwing it in there. Multiple pieces of upholstery are ripped and they stacked painted furniture top to bottoms so that it not only shifted terribly during the move it's all chipped and messed up. 4- i know they are going to say u-pack transported it and the damages are their fault but I've never seen a packing job done so poorly and Against the directions of the clients in any of the close to 20 times I've moved in my life. 5- oh also they bill you from when they leave to drive from their office. Not from when they arrive at your house. What!? I have never heard of a moving companies travel time to the location eating into your moving time in my life. Service: Packing / unpacking 6- and I just realized that a part of our dining room table never made it from the storage unit out of their truck. So now not only do I have to reupholster two of my four dining room chairs which means I have to reupholster all four I also have to buy a new dining room table because I can't assemble it without the piece that's missing. read more

I just want to start off by saying I'm not the type of person who leaves bad reviews it takes A LOT for me to leave a bad review. I didn't think I could have a worse moving experience than I did two years ago, when a different company broke my tv. Well I was very wrong. Based off the reviews I thought these guys would be absolutely amazing. And Brandon and Jacob were fast! But at the expense of almost every single item I own, broken or damaged. I didn't know it was possible to be that bad. The refund compensation was not worth it at all. They told me they broke one item of mine after my move, a wooden mirror I had for years that I loved. That was fine, I wasn't mad about it and even said I would leave them a good review for being prompt. Then as the day went on I started to notice more things damaged or broken. My brand new cat tree, which they tried to disassemble, part had been snapped off. I was pretty upset about this because they hadn't told me but I was willing to let it go. Then I noticed my glass cabinet was basically destroyed on the inside. It had to be hard to do this all accidentally. The glass is no longer stable and the wood was cracked in multiple places. They obviously knew about the cat tree at the very least (it was completely broken off at the top) and I didn't appreciate them trying to keep this from me. This is when I contacted them saying I wasn't very happy, also noticing some big scratches on my wooden dresser. I don't know if maybe they were new or what but this is ridiculous. It's been about 2 1/2 weeks and the refund was issued today for $148.62. I paid a total of $300 for the move. So after the refund it turns out I paid $151 to get all of my belongings damaged. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone, I will actually steer people clear of this company. You would think given the amount damage done, a full refund would be given. They also forgot about 8 items at my old house and accidentally left my step stool in their trunk. Luckily I noticed or that would have been gone forever. They did bring it back which I appreciate but come on. How do you mess up THIS BADLY!? read more

We hired Boulder All Star Movers to pack and move and they did a terrible job with the packing. They left multiple items in our kitchen cabinets. One cabinet didn't get packed all. A bottle of cooking oil was laid down sideways on top of smaller jars; it leaked all over the jars, the counters and the floor. They didn't even tell me about it, they just left the mess there for me to find after they left. Every single spice jar was wrapped in one or two sheets of paper, after they were unwrapped that wasteful use of paper filled up three big contractor trash bags. And if the kitchen cabinet not getting packed wasn't bad enough, they left an entire closet unpacked. This is not a small closet, it's big enough to open into two different rooms and they didn't pack any of it. They also left some art behind. Two paintings were wrapped in paper and left in my living room. Two larger paintings weren't even wrapped, the guys just left them alone. They left a laundry basket and a hamper behind. Fortunately this was a crosstown move. If we had been going out of state we would have been screwed. As it is we've had to make multiple trips to pick stuff up and move it ourselves. Adrian and Brian absolutely killed my move! These guys were quick, efficient, and friendly to boot! My quoted price was exactly what was charged and I may have actually understated what I had to move by a little. They just left my house 30 mins ago and I've already referred them to a friend who is moving in a few weeks. Rob and Tyler and Isiah were prompt, efficient and super careful in wrapping and packing up a house full of furniture. Only problem was managing to fit our massive white leather sectional couch through a condo doorway with an immediate left corner turn into a hallway. Several gouges and blue rubbing from pads on wall. They came back later and did some patching. They'll be telling their grandkids about that one. read more
