I was referred by 2 neighbors. Then I received a discount coupon in the mail. The stars were aligning. I called BAM and spoke with the owner, Don who was very accommodating even when I had to switch the move later from a Monday to a Sunday. Moving day I received a call half an hour before they were due to arrive advising me that they were on schedule. Mitch and Tyler knocked on the door, two great guys who knew how to do their job. The pair of them made a terrific team and got me moved from one house to another in 4 hours. I would most definitely recommend them. Ask for Tyler and Mitch. You won't be disappointed. read more

Had to follow up to my previous review. A day or two after I posted my 1st review, Boulder All Star Movers called me and said that they did not know that my claim was still outstanding (despite the 2 voicemails I had left??) and that they wanted to resolve it right away! Hmmm. Interesting timing after a negative review shows up. The owner then called me the next day and gave me a quote for the cost to replace the 2 refrigerator doors that they had damaged and said that if I agreed right then, he would credit my credit card for the amount that day, but I had to take down the negative reviews I had posted. When I asked to see the quote, he said it was a verbal quote. When I asked for more detail, he said one of his people told him the $ value and if I wanted to verify it, I should call the manufacturer myself (that's helpful, thanks!) In any case, I did call the manufacturer. The amount the owner had told me did not even cover the cost of 1 door. I emailed the owner back with the real $ cost and have not heard from him since ... I of course have sent 2 more emails but nothing. To repeat, do not use these guys :( They trash your stuff and then can't be reached :( read more

AVOID! Not professional but rather a strong come on that sounds good but clearly was not there in the actual experience of what was a simple, local move....protect yourself and look elsewhere than these clowns in overalls. You'll thank yourself you did. In sum, the first flag was Don comes on loud and strong with good enthusiasm but can't help himself but use bad, slick sales patter... Phrases like "You'll get my best crew" just easily roll off his tongue. Another early red flag in hindsight was Don consistently missed scheduled phone appointments that he set up. He then had the consistent gall to depict himself as a victim, saying "It got busy"....okay, slight delays but you choose to keep working and not call does but excuse them...and one was 5 hours?! A responsible service company gets hired for the solutions you say you can deliver, not the problems you choose to create then not own. Truth be told, those who work for Don and Nate were candid enough to apologize for them more than once. Others also shared that too many jobs get booked...actually more than they can properly handle...so Don and Nate work those guys (not all full-time employees, so another red flag in hindsight) hard a lot, "chasing the mighty buck for the top two" as one guy said. There was just so much that was obviously wrong with the actual packing and moving too. Some examples include: - Loads of over wrapping which took way longer to do than was really needed and also cost us more in wrap materials; - A consistent lack of labelling on boxes - so after they left we've had to move up to 30 boxes around our house; - A twisted china cabinet glass door that was easy to see was damaged, they didn't own up to it on the day and it still won't shut now; - Plus various other damaged items; - Some home office equipment was just transported without protection on the dusty truck and then left in our new garage and not up in the new office so we had to move that too; - And well, you hopefully start to get the real picture of what this awful experience was... We even sent pictures of some of the damage at one point after the move but tellingly we never got a single reply....so once they had our money they just did not care for sure. Again, big talk up front, truly a bad moving experience, and so save yourself from all that and do look elsewhere that Boulder All Star Disaster! Good luck! read more

We hired Boulder All Star Movers to pack and move and they did a terrible job with the packing. They left multiple items in our kitchen cabinets. One cabinet didn't get packed all. A bottle of cooking oil was laid down sideways on top of smaller jars; it leaked all over the jars, the counters and the floor. They didn't even tell me about it, they just left the mess there for me to find after they left. Every single spice jar was wrapped in one or two sheets of paper, after they were unwrapped that wasteful use of paper filled up three big contractor trash bags. And if the kitchen cabinet not getting packed wasn't bad enough, they left an entire closet unpacked. This is not a small closet, it's big enough to open into two different rooms and they didn't pack any of it. They also left some art behind. Two paintings were wrapped in paper and left in my living room. Two larger paintings weren't even wrapped, the guys just left them alone. They left a laundry basket and a hamper behind. Fortunately this was a crosstown move. If we had been going out of state we would have been screwed. As it is we've had to make multiple trips to pick stuff up and move it ourselves. If I could rate this company zero stars I would. My husband and I moved back to Texas from Colorado and the movers we had loaded our truck very poorly. Pretty much everything we own is ruined. We are happy to say we don't live in Colorado, so we would never need moving services in that state again, but we will never recommend BAM to anyone and we have and will continue to let everyone in Colorado know about our horrible moving experience and to not use BAM ever for moving services. BEWARE and stay clear away from this moving company!!! Worst experience we have ever had and they never called us back to talk about the damage they caused to our items.... Pictures of our trashed possessions are attached. Clearly all damage was due to how poorly our items were loaded. Books on top of fragile boxes? Come on?!!! And straps not securing boxes well at all?! All of our boxes fell over and crushed other boxes and furniture. Tons of ruined expensive furniture pieces and items...these guys do not care at all about your possessions at all. And rip you off financially big time!! Pathetic!! read more

They took great care navigating the tight spaces to ensure no damage to my furniture or the walls. So professional, but friendly as well! There aren't stars on Yelp for these awesome guys. They were ridiculously nice from first inquiry though the last box unloaded. They were a few minutes early to arrive, did a walk around, and got to work. I swear they sprinted for 3 hours straight while interacting with us, cracking jokes, and taking super careful care of our items. They even took disassembled and reassembled our bed frame! During that process had found one of my rings and immediately ran down to hand it over, making a joke. I had been bummed for a while thinking it was long gone. Tyler and the crew were amazing and they really took the stress out of moving. Which you probably know if you're looking into moves, is one of the worst and most stressful events to go through. Seriously, I knew I was in for something when Donny & his team showed up. First impression: This guy is like 6'3, 225lbs. He probably plays LB for the Univ of Colorado. Wait! That means he will probably pick up the fridge by himself! Second impression: Ok, I've got a moving company loaded with guys who spend a few hours at the gym. Does that mean they are just meat heads without a brain? ..... a few trips into loading & this happens ..... Third impression: Wait, did they just ask my wife if she would like 2 covers put on the mattress so that it wouldn't touch anything? Fourth impression: I've never seen a group pay so much attention to the corners and not having furniture bump, drag, or touch anything it shouldn't. Fifth & final impression: These guys seem to like this work. Why are they so happy to move? Personally, I think moving is equal to a trip to the dentist. These guys are excited about the next load! This is one of those time that you are thankful that Yelp exists. I went online and booked three movers for two hours ($195). In the day of service all three guys called to let me know they were a few minutes away. They all came right on time with one guy who was early and immediately started working. They filled up my 1800PackRat 16 foot container in under two hours...with the time left to spare they moved all the little things in to the garage. These guys were friendly, fast, and very efficient. They took great care of all the furniture and boxes...strategically placing them to be secure in the shipping container. So if you are short on time, these guys WILL get the job done right. We booked Boulder All Star Movers for a local whole house move. They showed up 10 minutes early, were very capable and careful with our items. They also asked where things should go if not labeled. It was a 7 hour day and they worked hard! We had a piano and washer and dryer in addition to lots of furniture and boxes. I would totally recommend them to anyone looking to move. Very professional and efficient. As a side note: Boulder All Star is much more cost effective than some of the other large moving companies. We paid $850 for 8 hours with 3 guys and a truck. Gave them a big challenge to get a huge, heavy couch out of a condo with a narrow hallway. Instead of ramming it through, they took a look at it, discussed their plan and got it out with zero damage. Used their services on Dec 5th 2015. I was a little hesitant at first about having to pre-pay but so glad I chose these guys. The 2 guys who showed up (sorry I can't remember yall's names!) were great. They loaded my storage pod within the 2 hour timeframe despite having to walk the stuff down a series of long hallways. Like others have said it takes a lot for me to leave a bad review. For starters this company waayyy underbid the job. They estimated it would cost 50% to 70% of what I actually ended up paying. When I called to inquire they blamed me for the inaccurate bid and could not/would not point to where I had gone wrong on the form they have you fill out. I told them their form needs help in assessing the situation if they would be so far off. I also spoke with the owner on the phone before even filling out the form and he told me which option to pick based on everything we discussed. I only have an average 3 bedroom house so I wasn't sure how things went so wrong, and they couldn't explain either. To me it's just a way to underbid so you will select them for the job. Then obviously once they are they they will try to charge for anything they can and you don't know it until they hand you the bill at the end. They even ended up sending another truck that day because they estimated so poorly. Even after having two trucks, they still left things sitting in my front lawn and left things in the backyard they were supposed to take. They did come back to grab it a week later for me. They also damaged items based on not being careful or packing things in a smart way. Like piling heavy things on top of things that could not support the weight. They also don't explain things like wrapping items before hand, but will charge you after they do it. Including things like $40 for a piece of cardboard to go around your tv. Those types of things should be included in the bid as obviously everyone needs things like tvs protected. Overall they got the job done but I would expect to pay more than they estimate by far. And get the extra insurance. Their movers also filled out their own reviews for themselves before having us sign the final paperwork. We didn't notice it until we got our copies after the fact. Customer service is just poor. Just a typical company that cares more about money than the customer. I would not recommend. I'm sure the owner will respond and say this posting is confusing as well, like he does for all the other bad reviews. That's how they acted on the phone when I asked why the bid was so far off as well. Update: In response to the owners response I asked specifically for the information he provided on here but was never called back to receive that information about where the disconnect was in the bid. I told them I felt like being under bid feels like your being duped. And if there's something I did wrong I'd like to know because I filled out the form exactly as it stated for me to. Like I stated before, their form needs to be more specific. I didn't realize things like bikes or lamps would be listed as "furniture" items. And "totes" were not counted the same as boxes. They need a section for miscellaneous items I suppose. I assumed they wanted to know the large "furniture" items and just assumed there would be miscellaneous items as well. Like one might assume there are with any moves. To me this is misleading and they evaded my questions around this when I spoke to them directly after the move. In an attempt to help them improve their form so others don't feel like I do. But they never got back to me with the information I asked for like they said they would, and yet were happy to provide it here on the public forum. Also, they clearly don't want to speak about their other hidden up charges, like tv boxes. Nor talk about leaving items or damaging others. They care about themselves and not their customers. Very responsive in here to discount my post, but not responsive when I was talking to them directly. I never asked for anything as far as a discount or anything. The guys who showed up to load were great (strong, hustlers, executed the job well). BUT, only 2 of the 3 people we reserved showed up, and we had no warning whatsoever (in fact, we received a call the day before confirming that 3 people would be there). My subsequent interaction with management (Don) was unpleasant and unprofessional enough that I would never use or recommend Boulder All-Star Movers again. He didn't own up to their failure to follow through on our arrangement, was demeaning throughout our conversation, and truly made me regret my decision to use them in the first place. read more

I am usually not the kind of person who writes negative reviews, but I want to save someone else the aggravation I have just been through using this company. I have tried to talk to the owner twice about my bad experience and he has not once apologized but rather he keeps blaming me for not giving them enough information about how much stuff we had. This is their main problem: they did not come out and actually see our apartment/house before the job, then they sent too few men for the job. At first there were just 2 men, then a third was called by the lead guy. Their truck was not big enough for all our stuff so they had to take 2 trips. In our case, the job ended up taking longer (10 hours) and of course, we had to pay more. Also, because there was not enough manpower, the guys just started dumping the boxes around and placing them in unstable ways so things were really not secure. We have a few broken items, who knows when they got damaged, but I can only wonder if the lack of carefulness caused some of it. Awful experience, moving is stressful enough as it is. We really, really regret using them. The owners response below basically just proves my point that he takes no responsibility for their part. What happened to the basic customer service principal that the customer is always right? I guess to this company, the customer is always wrong. At the end of the day, the business model is the problem, setting the customer up to pay more overtime. read more

This was an amazing moving experience and I would know having moved 31 times. Yes, you read it correctly (prior military spouse). Right from the get-go booking the appointment to the actual moving was easy. I can't say enough about my moving team: Beaux, Cam and James. Here's your shout-out guys! We had a lot to move and a number of cumbersome and large items - these guys didn't bat an eye and had a great attitude the entire time. Everything was packed carefully and thoughtfully. Not one item had even a tiny bit of damage on it when it arrived at our new place - a definite first for me when moving. During the move, one of the guys found my antique diamond ring under one of the pieces of furniture (thank you, cat...) and gave it to me right away which I was SO grateful for! This is a long overdue review for Boulder All Star Movers. It's a bit lengthy, but I provided the additional info to help people understand how very different they were in an industry where it can often feel like a roll of the dice (despite due diligence / checking reviews). I moved my family from the east coast to the Denver area during the pandemic before the vaccines were available to most. The loaders I hired back east were abysmal to work with. They agreed to wear masks while inside, but didn't, and became visibly annoyed when I would ask for them to do so out of mutual respect for both their and my health. They tore holes in furniture for ease of carrying, and broke items both in loading as well as parts of the house (door stops; not a big deal, but that they didn't let me know was more frustrating). Despite signs warning not to open a door because a cat may escape, they not only did so, but left the door only for me to discover 30 min later and then spend an hour searching for him outdoors (no apology, no effort to help, no reciprocity in the respect I was giving them). These things were all in spite of having beverages, snacks, and maintaining a respectful/affable disposition, even when they let me down. Tipping them at the end of all this felt begrudging. So when the time came to unload, I was hoping for the best, but prepared for the worst. The team at Boulder All Star Movers (Jeremy, Jonas, Kyle and Benny) couldn't have demonstrated a more polar opposite experience compared to the other company. First, they were able to accomodate a multi-day (yet also last minute) delay in the arrival of the semi-trailer (ABF/U-Pack). When the truck did arrive, the BASM team showed up when they said they would, and with a call-ahead. Upon arrival, my three dogs were barking incessantly. I asked if they would be open to spending a bit of time (on the clock, of course) with my dogs, knowing this would get my girls to calm down. The crew couldn't have been more accommodating or kind to them, as well as to me. They always had a mask on (as did I). They asked for my preferences in how they might proceed at various points, and were always deferential to my requests. They were appreciative of the various snacks and drinks I had available for them; they were simply very positive people and a pleasure to get along with - we were able to start cracking jokes pretty quickly. They were very diligent and worked with me whenever they had to enter a room with cats inside. They gave me a heads up if they were taking a break, and I found myself encouraging them to take more breaks. I never once worried about damage to the new house. AND, they were damn efficient, to the point that I was refunded some money from the initial estimate. After the bad taste in my mouth from back east, it was a pleasure tipping each of the guys at BASM, and tipping them well. read more

Those movers want you to PAY THEM IN FULL when you book the move, or they won't hold the date for you. Um, sorry, I'm not going to pay 3 weeks in advance and then have no recourse whatsoever if you don't show up, don't deliver my stuff, break things, or work painfully slowly. Why don't we see if you deliver everything I own to the new place, and then I'll pay you? That's how it works everywhere else in the country. read more

What a disappointment of a company ... not sure why they call themselves all star movers, when they can't even finish a local move. Run by irresponsible boys who lack communication skills. They showed up an hour late. Two of the employees seemed irritated with each other and I later saw them arguing(almost getting into a fight). Then I saw one leave in the middle of job like how childish can a man be to not be mature of the situation..???On top of that broke my items that had sentimental value to my family and I. They were careless through out the move and didn't make a effort to make things better or even pay attention to our needs. 5 STARS! I wish I could give 10. I have moved many times in my life and these are by far the best movers I've ever dealt with. They were very fast, completed a job 2 hours faster than the estimated time while being extra careful of all my belongings. They also helped me move a piano and did it with extra care. They were very communicative with each other and made sure to map out routes in the house so that nothing scratched the wall paint or got damaged. I was impressed that after I wrote a 2 star review i was called by the owner and he was nice enough to refund the $125 that would somewhat cover the $150 extra hour for the to/from their facility that I was not aware of. I would have upped the review to 4 star if their website had been changed over the last 2 weeks to just reword their wording on 'round trip duration' which isn't as understandable as something like 'we charge for the time it takes us to go to and from our facility to your location'. read more

My fiancé and I moved in to Boulder from Washington state last night. We only had a pickup truck and a uhaul trailer to unload, so we did not schedule any help for the move. After making the drive and realizing how much stuff we actually had to move we realized our mistake in not scheduling help. I looked up the top 10 moving companies in the Boulder area and All Star Movers was rated highly. I made the call expecting no help to be available (due to short notice). However I spoke with Courtney on the phone and explained my situation. She assured me that she would ask the guys out on jobs if they would be willing to do a last minute job and she would contact me shortly. Courtney called back in less than an hour and confirmed that she could get us help! Courtney sent two movers, Kris D. and Tim R., they showed up about an hour and a half later. I showed them what I needed moved and where it should go. They finished the move in no time, they were both professional, fast, and very gentle with our belongings and home. If these three employees are a representation of the quality of this company than it is awesome. They all did an amazing job today and if we ever need help in the future they are our first call. read more

Be Warned! I absolutely NEVER write yelp reviews. Ever. But I think people need to know how unprofessional this company was. The entire website says "NO hidden fees, no surprises, etc.. No Expensive Quotes, Zero Hidden Fees. One. Flat. Hourly Rate.  Only pay for the hours you use & never a cent more". There are hidden fees. If you pay for 2 movers for 2 hours and you live in Boulder, 1 entire hour of that is drive time to/from Lafayette. I specifically asked the woman initially over the phone about additional fees coming out. She said there were none. In my particular case, they gave me a 2-4 pm window. They did not call me and did not arrive to my house until 5:15pm. I paid for 2 movers and 2 hours of time. This was not a move (no truck necessary). The job was only an internal room move. At 6pm they told me they were going to have to charge for more time necessary. Long story short, instead of any acknowledgement of unprofessionalism (being late, etc), the owner sent movers home. Job unfinished. A two room job with only 5 pieces of furniture. Note to future customers: At the very bottom of the "what's included section", it says (Bill reflects Round Trip Duration from our facility). Just know that if you live in Boulder, that round trip is one hour of the time you thought you were getting. I will NEVER use this company again and will never recommend.
