(We were lucky to get in last minute with a major football game falling at the same time as our appointment). The interior of the nail salon is so calming, love the soft lighting, the pleasant background music on, TV with close captioned Golden Girls going and bohemian interior with its crystal chandeliers, Moroccan stencils on one window, subway tile on a wall, and French chic pieces throughout. You don't feel like you're in a nail salon. Estella and Michelle did our honey and milk spa pedicures (the upgrade was worth it) and regular manicures. Both were great and our paws and hands feel so much better as a result. I wish this salon existed back home... I love the little touches as well on how this salon supports good causes and takes the longer route to remove gel versus electric filing which always feels like it damages the top of my nail. The way it was said came across as rude and dismissive, almost as if they did not want my business. I believe every potential customer deserves to be treated with respect, whether there is availability that day or not. However, the pricing for the alternative service and nail art was never clearly communicated to me. To my surprise, while my manicure was still in progress, the receptionist approached me to check out, and my total came to $201. I was extremely upset by the lack of transparency, as I was never informed of the cost or given the opportunity to approve the pricing beforehand. Nelly/Yeli did an incredible job on my Gel Mani/Pedi and took her time during every step of the process. The new location offers free drinks and I had a latte with my Pedicure. The total after was $76 and I tipped as well and was still able to keep everything under $100. I highly recommend Chicago Nail Pro as THE go to Salon for when you're looking to leave feeling relaxed, refreshed, and looking your best.
