    The nail inspo I presented
    Ciah H.

Pros: clean, ambient environment, talented nail techs, offered earlier appointment time Cons: expensive, doesn't feel friendly/welcoming, owner is a bit rude I'm only writIng this review because this was my second time going & it felt just like my first experience, which wasn't good. I decided to give CNP a second chance since it's Latina & Woman-owned, which are two things I value. I made a same day appointment over the phone, which was cool. My appointment was scheduled at 4 & I arrived around 4:02. Upon walking in, I wasn't greeted by a single person. Most didn't even look up to acknowledge me, which felt invalidating. When the owner (Esme I believe) emerged, she very dryly greeted me and asked what my services were. I told her and she started naming off prices, which I didn't ask for. I'd done my research and had been a previous customer, so I knew what I was expected to pay. When I asked her about the nail design (which wasn't complex at all), she gave me an estimate of an additional $60 for the nail design I requested. When I asked her why, she chuckled & responded in a sarcastic way, which I didn't appreciate. Whatevs. She then passed me off to another nail tech (who's phenomenal btw!) and went back to her client (with whom she changed her entire tone for). My actual service was great. My nail tech was Kelis, who did such a beautiful job on my nails (would highly recommend!!!) Unfortunately, that isn't enough for me to want to return after having 2 not-so-good experiences in a row. One thing I really stand strong on is good customer service, especially when providing a service that's intended to make others feel good & confident. I'm hoping this review encourages CNP to reconsider how they interact with all of their customers and not just their clients.

    Glazed Donut Gel-X Nail Extensions
    Michele B.

I literally drive from the Northshore to come to this Rogers Park Nail Salon! The sisters who own this salon are great! I see Esme for my Gel-X nail extensions. She does an amazing job. My extensions last me close to a months time. For u die hard acrylic girls they also offer that service as well. The nails are available in all shapes & sizes. From square, stiletto, coffin & more. The sisters are well versed in what is currently trending out there. My nails today are a fine example. The famous "Glazed Donut" by Hailey Bieber is so fun. Pedicures and Hair services are also available as well. And what's easier than booking online? Be sure to download Vagaro app and book all services there. Be sure to also check out their Instagram & FB pages for any inspiration you might be looking for your visit! What I enjoy most about this salon is the friendly staff, the customer. service & it's quiet! Half the time I go to a salon and someone is always talking on their phone. I will follow people for great service. These girls do not disappoint. If you're in the Rogers Park area or even a quick ride from Evanston, YOU NEED to check this place out. Tell Esme I sent you.

    My amazing acrylic gel x!
    Emilia D.

So glad I found Chicago Nail Pro! I was coming into town for a week but hadn't been able to see my usual nail folks, so I booked an appt with Lizette for Gel-X over acrylics. This shop is super clean, the techs are nice and professional---I mean, she crushed it. I wish I could go there every month but that's a long flight!

Prices displayed on website that are inaccurate

Let me start off by saying that this review has nothing to do with the quality of my nails. I am very satisfied with my gel x set and they are beautiful. However, the prices listed on this business's website are deceitful. When I booked my appointment (a very simple set) I requested a short gel x full set with French tip. After booking the appointment my total was presented at $55 for which I paid an $11 deposit, leaving my remaining balance at $44. This price was stated after booking my appointment and paying this deposit. Firstly, my nail technician did not say a word to me the entire appointment. It was pretty awkward and uncomfortable for me. Secondly, while filing my nails, the tech filed my pinky very hard and left a very deep cut that is still burning. After my service I was expecting to pay the remaining balance I was presented on the website ($44), however I was told that I owe $89 after my deposit ($100). My issue is not the price but the fact that I was not aware of this price. Like most people I don't enjoy my money being played with. If they are going to be charging extra it needs to be updated on their website.

Never thought I'd get gaslit and blocked on Instagram by a business after being a client for two years. I will say, I only went for special occasions, so maybe 4/5 times a year, but in the beginning I was very happy with the service I got, and how I was educated. I even recommended this place to a couple of their clients, but now apparently I'm not a good enough customer. I tried reaching out to them so I could figure out if they were OK, if something had happened, or if there was anything I did and they ignored my calls, ignored my messages, blocked me on Instagram and I had no idea what I had done. Come to find out from a client of theirs that I was "playing them" because I had gone back three times in the two years to get a nail redone due to it not sustaining its quality for more than a day. To say I'm disappointed is an understatement, it's insulting, and a really snobby way to run a business. If they would've told me that they needed me to pay for the repairs I would've been more than happy and understanding of it (even though I had to go back. Not a inconvenience at all ), but the communication at this place is not good and like other reviews have said they are not very personable and they don't talk to you even when you try to make conversation. This place had promise, but unfortunately due to potentially getting a big head as they were expanding due to getting a few more clients they got too big for their bridges, and now can block and deny customers service because they want the quality service that they paid for. Additionally, don't rely on their website policies because even though it says there is a five day guarantee, they don't obviously stay true to that. I wish them well, but if you speak up about your nails and getting what you paid for, don't go to this place because you'll likely get blocked and have your character judged. I've included a picture of their current guarantee policy, but just warning you, if you try to go by their policies, they may not allow you to come back. Let's hope they can reevaluate their policies and attitude. I'll be happy to go to a salon that embraces feedback and people that speak up about quality and desires to get better.

(We were lucky to get in last minute with a major football game falling at the same time as our appointment). The interior of the nail salon is so calming, love the soft lighting, the pleasant background music on, TV with close captioned Golden Girls going and bohemian interior with its crystal chandeliers, Moroccan stencils on one window, subway tile on a wall, and French chic pieces throughout. You don't feel like you're in a nail salon. Estella and Michelle did our honey and milk spa pedicures (the upgrade was worth it) and regular manicures. Both were great and our paws and hands feel so much better as a result. I wish this salon existed back home... I love the little touches as well on how this salon supports good causes and takes the longer route to remove gel versus electric filing which always feels like it damages the top of my nail. Really great business and looking forward to return visits!

As a man, the self-care of a manicure is a rarity, happening less than once per year. As for a…read moremani-pedi, this was my first time ever. Please note, because of this timing, and that no one in my life gets this done, I have no basis of comparison other than a few previous manicures. After needing some TLC, I booked an appointment with Gingerslam Nail Bar for a standard Mani-Pedi. Nothing fancy, no colors or shapes, just enough to bring them up to factory spec. The experience was alright. While I wouldn't go as far as to say it was painful, the discomfort in my cuticles being pushed back and trimmed was greater than I'd encountered in the past. Also, while it felt nice at the time, the oil used on my feet was less thrilling when it met sock and shoe. Finally, one other thing I wasn't thrilled about: In going from the pedi-chair to the mani-chair, I was given a pair of disposable flip-flops. These things were so hilariously flimsy and ill-fitting, my freshly cleaned feet kissed the floor more times than once. Thus, while not a negative experience, I can't say it was an extremely positive one. Though my nails, hands, and feet felt good after, this is counterbalanced by the discomfort of the procedure itself, and feet-on-bare-floor. While a rare luxury, it shouldn't include this level of discomfort, in my opinion. As such, I believe my next nail-care appointment will be somewhere else.

I went in for a pedicure and a no-chip French tip. When I left, I wasn't completely satisfied the tips were a bit crooked and too thin, and the French base was more milky white instead of the neutral pink I prefer. I didn't say anything at the time because I'm pretty shy, and I didn't want to come off bratty. After showing my nails to a friend, she encouraged me to call and get them fixed. I was hesitant because I didn't want to come off as someone who complains, but I'm really glad I did. The receptionist was incredibly sweet, super apologetic, understanding, and accommodating,. She encouraged me to come back in and insisted they could fix them . When I returned, another nail tech gladly fixed my nails exactly how I wanted them. Not once did anyone make me feel uncomfortable or like I was being difficult. They were kind, patient, and genuinely welcoming the entire time!!!!!! Great customer service makes all the difference, and they really delivered!!!!! I truly appreciate how they handled everything . I was super happy!!!!! Definitely recommend this place!

I really really wish I had taken the negative review I had seen here previously seriously. During the manicure, they painted my nails all streaky instead of solid color and I had to tell them that was wrong and then they swapped out who was doing the manicure but I don't know why I needed to say this. They claim my last gel/drilling was done wrong and that was the problem, but I haven't gotten gel in years nor had this drilling process before so the only way that could have been it is if they damaged them during the drilling. The final product looks good but I regret going here so much given the pain. I had tried to pick someone with reviews online Mia, but I honestly don't know if that is the person who helped me at all, they had someone doing my toes while someone else started on my fingers. The manicure was also in no way a relaxing process, there was no hand soaking or massage or lotion. I know they also offer a Russian manicure but that's not what I ordered but it seems maybe that's what they do with any manicure?
