I came in for a walk-in no-chip manicure on a Wednesday and they took me right away. The staff was friendly and did a good job shaping my nails, but the manicurist cut into my cuticles too deeply on my ring finger and it hurt like hell for days. I had to wrap my finger in a bandage for three days because the skin had gotten so sensitive I was nervous I'd get an infection. The polish didn't last me more than a week before it started lifting. I've gone here twice now for a no chip manicure and a regular pedicure and I am hooked! The aesthetic here is so classy and clean. No tvs!!! Just soothing music playing and great attentive service from every single nail technician in this place! While I haven't gotten service from everyone, I observe that each of the ladies working here operates with care and attention to detail. And the results are great! I'm so happy with my nails! I had originally made an appointment on a Friday, and a day before that appointment, I called to change it to the upcoming Tuesday. I confirmed twice on the phone that I wanted a gel manicure on Tuesday at 4, and the person on the other line said yes both times. I made my appointment for then because I wanted to go with my friends to get my nails done. This would not be my first choice of place because in the past I have gone, and they have made fun of the stubbiness of my nails and made my cuticles bleed. Regardless, I made the appointment to try again. I showed up on Tuesday at 4, and they had an appointment for all of my friends but not for me. They stared at me like I was asking the most absurd request of them and told me to wait for 15 minutes while they finished up someone else's manicure. That wait time turned into over 30 minutes, and that is when I decided to get up and leave, as they did not deserve my business. The space is beautiful and inviting, black and white with pops of a feminine blush. It was love at first sight. The staff is welcoming and was so kind to each other as well as the customers! I especially loved how the owners take pride in creating a safe environment for the staff as well by having stations set up to pull the fumes and dust away as they work. But let me tell you, I was truly BLOWN away at the care and attention to detail Sua put into her work. Decided to try this cute little shop which is around the corner from Benefit Bar where I get my lashes done. It would have been the perfect addition to my Summer Saturdays including Evanston Farmer's Market. Started out with a handsome (nail tech) guy greeting me at the front of the cutest, brightest, most inviting nail salons ever. He helped me pick my color and told me to wait just a few moments. When I finally sat down with "Pam", things went in a different direction. Bottom line- she could not understand me and when her fellow technician stepped in to explain that my gel polish should have more than one coat, she responded in an angry outburst in her (native?) language which left me rattled, confused and just wanting to leave. (At the end of it, Polish was old and went on clumpy. My nail shape varies from finger to finger. I need to get them redone). Try at your own risk. read more

I really wanted to try dazzle dry nail polish so I went here because they have it and ended up getting the worst manicure of my life. My manicurist was unfriendly and didn't ask me what shape I wanted my nails and just filed them randomly. It looks like I took a nail clipper and went straight across. She also didn't ask to me to remove my rings and just started lotioning my hands and got lotion all over my jewelry. I still have hang nails and my cuticles are uneven as well. (I recommend having a professional do that part, too, but I was desperate and couldn't get into my usual place, Gingerslam, because they were gingerslammed). When I called Dazzle to make an appointment, I was able to request Sua, and they were very accommodating with my schedule. I thought it was lovely inside, and even though they were shortstaffed (Sue explained it was because their student employee had called off for finals), they were organized, friendly, and skillful. Such a disappointment! I don't expect the world from my manicures, but my manicurist (Zaya T.) was totally disrespectful, unprofessional and lacked manicurist skills. She was answering phones, working the front desk all while doing a manicure. I get that places can be understaffed, but she really made this my problem which it is not. They need to do a better job dealing with how they handle customers. Zaya's demeanor from the start was as if she was doing me a favor, never a good way to start anything, let alone a manicure where you have to sit across from this person for an hour and whom you also happen to be paying. Definitely not pleasant, she was distracted and inattentive. Then throughout the course of the manicure she had the audacity to shush me while picking up the phone, she made several mistakes on my nails and changed the price of the manicure at the end of my services. Shady. She almost seemed vengeful. As if she could do whatever she wants (there are no prices listed). Not good. When I confronted her with the change in price she came for me aggressively and again was TOTALLY unprofessional in her interactions. I made sure to inform her that she wasn't accurate from my experience. Because of how the payment amount changed, I am looking into reporting this to the better business bureau. I'm a neighbor and customer's ( both other people and myself) shouldn't be treated like that, hence this review. This place had great reviews and was why I choose to check them out. Sadly, this won't be a salon that I could recommend, and I certainly wouldn't recommend Zaya's services. read more

When it comes to nail salons for me, it's only pedicures and if I'm headed on vacation or someone can critique the nails of my feet. So yesterday was the 2nd time I've come here and both times have been great. Both times I chose the Express Pedicure @ $25 however yesterday was different because the pedicure must've been 15-20 minutes tops. She did a great job and was done quickly which is fine by me. Both times i've called to make a reservation and while they don't take my name or number, they were ready at the time of my arrival. There is metered parking around so no issues there. TIP: If you pay cash you get a discount (outside of the express pedicure). I look forward to coming here in the future! read more

I took my daughters to Dazzle today for mani pedis and our nails turned out adorable for the holiday season. My oldest got gel on her hands, and both did specialty designs on their hands. I did a little festive color on my nails too. Mani pedis were $50; gel, added $20 for my daughter's hands, nail art, add $5 each. Sua was fantastic! This was my first manicure in Evanston, so was nervous to try a new spot. I called ahead on a Thursday morning and they were able to get me in right away for powder / dip. The place was clean, bright and well-kept. Sua recommended a fabulous blush OPI color and was very thoughtful and detail oriented. As far as nail places go, Dazzle does everything right. I was seated right away as a walk-in pedicure even though it was a busy Friday afternoon (though I saw other people being asked to wait upwards of 45 minutes), and the man who did my toes (Dagvadorj) was so thorough. For $35, I definitely feel that my money was well spent. This is not your standard pedicure - there are all sorts of scrubs and lotions and hot towels put on your legs and toes. And my toenails look pretty great painted, although I wish it was cheaper to just clean them up and not paint them. The salon even has a machine that dries your toes in ten minutes and a spray to seal them. It was bustling when I went, and I'm sure it's always very busy. Will be returning. read more

I normally do my own dip but recently moved and my nail stuff was all packed so I came here based on reviews. The shaping of all nails is terrible and uneven and the top coat is so rough because she put the top coat on without removing all of the dust from buffing. There was zero shaping done around the cuticle and the invisible cuticle also wasn't pushed back or trimmed either. Less than 24 hours later and one nail already chipped. Needless to say I will not be back and will dig out my own nail supplies and redo this manicure. $72 with a tip and they didn't last 24 hours. read more

Terrible manicure. Technician drew blood on 3 different fingers & those wounds are painful. I've been applying rubbing alcohol every couple of hours to hopefully avoid any infection & the wounds burn pretty severely each time. Polish is bubbled up on the sides of 5 fingers. They don't soak your nails prior to doing cuticle work so it was painful when she jammed my cuticles to the end of my nail beds. This was my 1st time coming here & I'm so disappointed because they are one of the few salons that do Dazzle Dry manicures. read more

I like Dazzle Nails. I've been coming here since October 2022 and have had a great experience each time. I get dip powder, so my manicures last a pretty long time. I also get no chip pedicures. I haven't had an issue yet. The shop is always clean and their tools are sterilized. I don't have issues with the shop being crowded, they're located in downtown Evanston, of course it's going to get busy. But even if I have to wait, it's never longer than 15 minutes. I will keep coming here until I move as they seem to be the only shop in Evanston that does dip powder well. Read that again. There are shops in Evanston that do dip powder, but this shop does dip powder VERY WELL. read more

Unfortunately, my first nail experience here was not as strong as others'. The salon is very clean and soothing, which is a huge plus. However, my nails did not hold up. My pedicure chipped within the first day, and my no-chip manicure started peeling in the first week. (I don't know of any activity that would have caused either.) For $67 with cash discount plus tip, so $80 total, it just wasn't worth the price. Back to looking for that sweet spot of quality, atmosphere, and value. read more

I just had a mani and pedi done there today. V was absolutely scrupulous in giving me perfect nails. When we were done, she noticed that I had smeared the polish on my big toe and got down on the floor to repair it. I hadn't even noticed it, and I doubt anyone else would have. Sua is my FAVORITE and she is very meticulous when it comes to making sure your nail comes out perfect. She has amazing attention to detail and steady hands when hand drawing different designs! When I found Dazzle Nails, I loved how beautifully decorated the store was and how they the time to clean the stations before each use. There is complimentary mint and water for anyone that is waiting. I was introduced to getting dipping powder by Sua and I cannot go back to anything else but dipping! It lasts a LONG TIME! I had my Halloween nail design for almost 2 months before I decided to go and get my Christmas design. Got my first pedicure in over a year here from S, she was so incredible and really took her time to make sure my toes were back to their pre-pandemic selves. I particularly enjoyed how much time she took to rinse my legs after the exfoliating scrub. Sitting next to me was a 90yo woman and the woman doing her nails was very gentle and kind as the older woman made conversation with her. Overall, I love their customer service and personable staff. The first time I visited Dazzle Nails, it was because they were the only salon in the area able to fit in 4 last-minute appointments on a Saturday for a bridal party. I was tasked with finding a salon for everyone, because I'm a bit of a snob about my nails. All of my usual spots were filled, but Dazzle was able to fit us in. The place was spotless... so clean. All staff had on masks, and there was plenty of physical space between clients. The staff treated all people in our "party" with kindness and respect. Everyone left with nails that they loved and looked great in our photos. Two weeks later, I went back to Dazzle to give them another try, since I was impressed with the first experience. My second experience was just as good as the first. Friendly and helpful nail technicians, no wait for my appointment/ seating, clean and comfortable environment, and good prices.
