I had been going to this salon for 10 years, they always act like they have never seen me before. This last time, I went in for a mani pedi and the tech accidentally cut my big toe - ouch! She didn't apologize and it hurt a lot. After the bleeding stopped, we continued the pedicure. I realize now, I should have left. A day later, I woke up and my toe was swollen and all red - like it had become infected. I stopped back into the salon to show my toe and they told me to wear flip flops, in the winter! I mean, tbh... the pedicure wasn't even that great. With other salons available in the area, you can skip this one. read more

I just got back from a pedicure at Luna, and my experience wasn't great. My toe was cut when she was trying to trim my cuticles and it's sore from the cut. There was a lot of filing done afterwards and the worker was filing my skin more than my actual nail. My cuticle area was painted poorly and there was a lot of polish on my skin. I had a blue pedicure before, and there is still leftover blue showing under my white nail color because it wasn't drilled off entirely. My mom also got her old pedicure drilled off and her nail tech didn't buff afterwards, so the polish was uneven and bumpy. It's obvious when nail techs try to rush the service and I think that's why our pedicures weren't great. The pedicure didn't include a scrub or massage afterward either. For $50, I expected a lot more from Luna. The workers are really nice though. Update, owner reached out and offered to fix the service and offered credit back. A staff that communicates with their customers is a good one. I appreciate it so much thank you!!!! read more

This place is so fun. It's the first time I've ever been to a nail salon where I can bet my money that the nail techs aren't saying something nasty about you. The nail techs are so genuine and funny. You can clearly see that returning clients are happy and have a very close relationship with the techs. It's heart warming! As for my nails, Lynn was extraordinarily patient and I could tell sally was as well. Forgot the name of the 3rd lady. I was so picky I wanted square at first but then switched to almond nails and Lynn did not let me leave until I was satisfied! Amazing service! I stumbled upon Luna nails because I was in the area. Popped in because I needed to remove my dip nails that had been overgrown. No issues at first, but started to grow some concerns as the materials being used were a bit grungy. I'm not super high maintenance but the environment seemed unsanitary - and it wasn't very pleasant to have my hands worked on a dingy paper towel. I was about to leave somewhat satisfied with my experience for what it was (popped in just for a dip removal, wasn't expecting nor needed much), but was completely taken aback when the price was $30, $36 with tip. I'm not an expert but that seems extremely high. I mean I didn't even ask for any polish. It was just a soak off. In the past I've gone to some salons in way nicer conditions and it's been around $12-$15. Maybe $20. $30 seems excessive and pushed me to write this review. What ever happened to attention to detail? I used to love coming here. Recently, and ESPECIALLY TODAY, I felt so rushed through my pedi and no chip mani. Two guys handled me. Pleasant enough - and I will say the guy who did my pedi gave me AN AWESOME LEG MASSAGE. But... The owner did my mani and completely rushed through the whole thing. It was really busy - he was on the phone I think the entire time he was doing my nails. I was polite, and really hate to leave a bad review, but maybe start saying NO to people - so the customers you do in front of you feel welcome and stay your loyal customer. Yesterday I went in to have the dip powder done. I have been going to Luna for a year or more, and used to go religiously every 2 weeks for about 2 years. Anyway, my usual technician is Nancy. She is usually pretty pleasant with me, but yesterday it was quite the opposite. As I was sitting and waiting - flipping through the color choices (of course having trouble picking one), Nancy hovers over me, staring, and then proceeds to yell "DID YOU PICK A COLOR YET?" Talk about embarrassing! The girl getting her nails done next to me laughed. How unprofessional! Just because I am a regular customer does not mean that they get to talk to me however they want to. Anyway, fast forward, I got my nails done and had confidence that they were done well since Nancy always does a fine job. I left the salon, and went to another store. I literally could not stop staring at my nails because of how horrid they looked. I was SO upset. The color was not close to the cuticle, and everything was just sloppy. I NEVER go back to complain, but yesterday I just had to. I went back and pointed out to the manager everything that I was unhappy with. Nancy then comes over and looks at them, and they begin to speak in Vietnamese. I mention to Nancy that it is not done well and that I had paid $45. She replies "you paid $40!" then I explained that I gave her a $5 tip. $40 or $45, it is still a lot of money, and I expect them to be done well. She then proceeds to soak the color off my nails and when I had mentioned that the color didn't come out how the sample did, she exclaimed "you picked the color not me!!" WHAT! How can you talk to a customer like that?!? Especially one that has been loyal to the salon and you! I then sat in the corner picking out a different color. About 50 mins later the manager calls me to his station to re-do them. He must've known that they were messed up because he didn't say anything - not even an apology! He mentions to me that "they never re-do dip powder for people". Am I supposed to feel blessed or something?? Last time I checked, THEY were the ones that messed up, not me! I will NEVER be going back to this salon. Everyone here is extremely rude, they will talk about you in their language and disrespect you in front of others - and not be held accountable for any of it! No business should be run this way. I had high hopes for this place, but it looks like I will be taking my business elsewhere. I suggest you do the same! read more

I moved to Lincolnwood so I had to shop for a new nail salon. I asked a friend around the area and she suggested Luna. Its on Lincoln avenue on a tiny strip like plaza so it can be easy to miss. I went in, picked my colors and from there it was history. They have a ton of colors and brands and if you want a specific color and they will gladly help you. They tend to get busy so I would call ahead if time. It can help you cut the line. (Wink wink) They are extremely detail oriented and really know what they are doing. Worth trying out! read more

I had an appointment with two other friends for manicures an hour before closing. We were early and still seen very promptly. I wish they had seated us all next to each other but the technicians we were assigned had their own stations so I suppose it made sense. They had the Voice on the tv too which was fun! I got acrylics done for the first time with gel on top and not only were we all done within the hour but the technicians did a flawless job on all 3 of us. They remodeled about a year or two ago and it looks a lot better! More brighter, more welcoming, and looks very clean. Billy and Sally are always the best techs there! Make sure you make an appointment early on at least a week or two ahead because they both get booked up really fast. Billy is wonderful because he's gentle and takes his time. Sally is a little quicker but her service is great. She does great eyebrow wax clean ups as well! I just wish they closed at 9 instead of 8pm. I have been going to Luna since I was in 4th grade and honestly I loved it so much which is why I keep coming back but I can't help but notice that each time I come back, I just feel very rushed and I feel like my technician is rushed as well. My nails look good but I don't like feeling rushed and unfortunately that's what I feel sometimes. I don't really mind if my nail appointment takes a while, I'd rather spend the time to get my nails done carefully rather then rush and have my nails done sloppy. stumbled in here on accident and stayed because of the $35 pedi mani. good price, however, I was very turned off by the 7 workers standing there judging me as I walked in. It's a big place compared to other nail salons in lincolnwood/Skokie area so they were very overstaffed. Took me for my pedi right away and that's where I started to feel uncomfortable. My pedicurist was clearly talking about me the whole time in Korean while working on me, since the other workers kept giggling and looking at me while trying to make it unnoticable. like other reviewers have mentioned, they do speak English which is a plus, but only speak it if they need to answer a question or something. overall kind of awkward experience but clean and decent service. I'll see how long the polish stays on but probably won't ever be back here again! read more

I called Luna and the owner told me I could come in right away. When I got there I was introduced to Billy and he started working on my nails- I have never EVER had such a painless experience at a nail salon!! I was in here the other night as a walk-in. I accidentally found Luna Nails when I went to Kinkos next door. I walked in and it was very clean, so I stayed. I was immediately greeted and treated to a nice manicure and pedicure. The employees are incredibly friendly and helpful. I never felt rushed, but the service was quick and meticulous. I am recently new to this nail salon. They take such great precautions during COVID which I appreciate. It just helps knowing they are protecting their customers as well making them comfortable. Lynn is the only technician I have tried and she has been exceptionally wonderful. She gets the nails just right and never says no. She also helps with picking a color when you just show her a photo. I've been going to Luna Nails for maybe 2-3 years now & they never disappoint. I've gone to Nancy, Kim, Tiffany, Jenny & Linh so far & all are amazing. I always get a No Chip Manicure & I get compliments all the time that my nails look great. Along with the no chip, I get a regular pedicure. I know or heard of a few people who are good at Acrylic and/or Dip Powder. I've had Tony (owner) do my Acrylic nails (this happened once, just wanted to try something new) with a coffin shape & I can be very particular on how I want them to look. They looked amazing! I don't have a picture, but you should just trust me on that. Others who can do Acrylic or Dip Powder are Nancy & Sally. Everyone is very nice & welcoming. They like to also ask if the shape is okay, if you want them to cut your nails or just file or even both, etc. They also like to have conversations with you! Great little nail salon in Lincolnwood! You cannot beat $12 mani and $23 pedis! The nail salon is very clean and the nail techs are very friendly. I stopped in on a Sunday and Luna Nails was slightly understaffed. I had a short wait but it was well worth it! Luna also does the no chip manicure for $35! Adequate service, and professional. --honestly?-- i did get a little irritated that the lady doing my pedicure kept trying to add on extras to increase my bill. she offered to wax my eyebrows, which were already neatly groomed. wanted to paint nail designs on my toes-- which i'm not fond of. and she also wanted to upgrade my regular pedicure to a deluxe-- but couldn't explain to me what the difference was. Which-- she's just doing her job, and they're just doing their business, but i feel like all these questions should have been addressed at the beginning of our interaction-- not half way in the middle of while i'm trying to relax and catch up with my bff who was getting a pedicure right next to me. but a $23 regular pedicure could not be beat. I'm sure I'll come back because they did do a decent job and it's pretty affordable for good quality. I did notice a lot of softness in my legs and feet afterwards. Huge plus. Still, details matter. For about $30, at my fave pedicure spot (Spa Nail City), I get a full calf/ foot massage. Better heat in the tubs. Calluses shaved. A mini back massage. Every couple of weeks, I would come in to get my UV gel fill-ins with either esthetician that would be available since for some dumb reason I don't make appointments. That would probably be why I deducted a star. The wait times are pretty long, but worth the wait. They do a great job every time. It's very clean and they are friendly, most of the time. Like a review I've read prior, they do seem like the workers say bad things about you in their native viet tongue so I tend to tell myself that they are saying wonderful things about me and not, "this girl, again?" :) The owner is very nice though. Anyways, great manis, pedis, and fill-ins. Really clean. Calming. Big points for being near my house, except for the parking. Yes, it's free, but it's cramped all the time. read more

I made an appointment with my sister for a no chip but changed my mind last minute and asked for a full set. I am a big fan of this spot. After work, one day this week, I went for a much needed mani/pedi and was pleased to find this yelp-approved salon by my office. I was a walk-in, and even though the salon was packed, they sat me on the pedicure chairs immediately. The technician was so thorough and almost put me to sleep! It's also the type of place that does not skim the basics of a pedicure/manicure. I got a full salt/sugar wash on my feet and legs (this is usually a treatment in a big salon with a hefty price tag), with massage! It was simply perfect. I went a little risque with a deep red on my toes. :) My nails look great on my hands as well. I'm a simple person- usually go with clear, but I work with clients- so the presentation of my hands is important. They did a beautiful job of shaping my nails and making them look clean and classy. If you are up in this neck of the woods, I suggest checking them out. It's worth it. Very affordable as well- was $35 for both. read more
