I come here for one reason! The MAYONNAISE BREAD! It is a light, crunchy, flavorful piece of toast with the most amazing spread on top toasted to perfection! It is a super comfort food in my honest opinion. I will always have a craving for it. 10/10 recommend read more

The number 8# egg rolls are really good. I had the pork sandwich #5 and it was disappointing. The first time I went there it had a lot of meat and juicy. But the second time the bread was hard, little meat and dry. I'll go again for the egg rolls and maybe a drink. read more

I guarantee your first step onto this establishment, you'll get HIT with a whiff of the flavors in here! With a simple, straightforward, and affordable menu, where can you go wrong? First of all, the people that work here are the KINDEST. Seriously, you just know these people are smiling behind their masks and can see the twinkle in their eyes. Good to know that quality customer service still exists amid a pandemic. Onto the GOODS. I ordered the combination banh mi with extra cilantro. So simple, tasty, no frills sandwich. When I saw a woman behind the counter whipping up the Mayonnaise Toast, it looked so good I had to order it. GET. THE. MAYONNAISE. TOAST. Cheesy & melty goodness with just the right amount of bits of shrimp. This was definitely the star. Continue to support your small businesses! We're almost at the end, friends! read more

I got a tofu sandwich here yesterday. It was good tasting, quickly prepared, and a good price. The ladies working here are nice.

Not a place to go if you're in a hurry. Our take-out order of five items took approximately 30 minutes. The charbroiled pork was tasty but it was not charbroiled. It was like heated up by other means. They do trim off most of the fat from the pork though. Some of the mint leaves and cilantro seemed sad so I pulled them out. The prices were very reasonable. They allow dine-in and takeout orders. You can also pay with cash or any major credit card. Parking is available outside the restaurant. The lot is shared with other businesses in that plaza. read more

I don't know why it took me so long to come here. I think after they made renovations and changed the name I was a little hesitant. But I SHOULD NOT be ever!! I live in Pacifica and I have ate at other various Vietnamese places around here. I'm not going to say any names, but this was hands down the best for their sandwiches, papaya salad and their plates. They don't have the full on menu but enough to satisfy cravings. The banh mi's are delicious, toasted to perfection packed with toppings. The papaya salad is soooo good. So good that after trying it I ordered a full tray to cater for a party. I went here 3 days in a row because it's that good. Oh and try their mayo bread. Doesn't like all that fabulous in pictures, but I swear it's so good! read more

Terrific little neighborhood place! Wonderful service. Ask them how they got their name... really cute. Bahn Mi sandwiches were good- generous w meats . Vietnamese coffee was nicely strong. Love seeing locals come in. Great to see this thriving neighborhood gem. read more

this is a nice family-owned restaurant located right by the ocean. it's a great place to stop for a quick bite before/after exploring the beach area and hiking up to Mori Point i tried the combo sandwich and the bbq pork sandwich. both were delicious thanks to their fresh ingredients and tasty sauce. they were also quite affordable ($8.50 each) compared to other Vietnamese spots i've tried. i personally enjoyed the combo sandwich more, but i don't think you can go wrong with any of the items on the menu overall, i would definitely recommend this place if you're in the area! i know i'll be coming back to try their other dishes in the near future read more

10/10 AMAZING Vietnamese spot, I highly recommend checking them out! Delicious food, stellar prices for huge portions, and friendly service - what more could you ask for? I spent the day in Pacifica and wanted to try Gorillas BBQ. However, they were closed so we had to look elsewhere for lunch. While scrolling through Yelp, I randomly stumbled upon Kitten & Pinky and decided to give them a try as I've been craving bahn mi lately (since moving from Milpitas to Walnut Creek aka from great bahn mis in San Jose area to very few options that are not so great). Boy am I glad I stopped here!! I first got their BBQ Pork Vermicelli bc that's what my friend wanted and we were sharing. It was SO GOOD. It is not pictured bc I was starving and scarfed it down. This dish is a 5/5 - noodles had a great texture, pickled veggies were well flavored, there was a lot of meat, fish sauce / hot sauce was fire. Between the two of us, we were content in fullness, however we liked it so much we wanted more. So we went back and got the BBQ chicken bahn mi because I was originally craving a bahn mi and we wanted to try a different meat. Best decision ever. It was a 5/5. The bread is baked fresh, you can taste it - the perfect combo of soft and crispy. Again, plenty of meat, wonderfully pickled veggies and it was huge! There are so many places that do bahn mi wrong and this place does it so right. Dare I say the best in the bay? It's damn delicious and you guys should all try it. I also wanted to try their buns but they were all out when I went. Will have to come back next time to try them. They also sell donuts here which I did get to try a chocolate glaze courtesy of the kind owner. I kept staring at the donut case debating on if I wanted one and when I went back to buy the bahn mi and she was so kind as to gift me one! It was a pretty good donut. I regret not getting a Vietnamese coffee to go with it, will have to get one next time. Another reason to come back! All in all, their menu is simple: sandwiches, meat with rice or noodles and a few other delights such as donuts, viet coffee or Thai ice tea with boba. They are open during COVID, go support them now!!! You won't regret it. P.s. They have a small parking lot right in front read more

Stopped by here for a quick lunch and it did not disappoint! The chicken in the bahn mi was tender and flavorful and they filled it to the brim with toppings for only $8.50. The fresh spring rolls were also great quality with a peanut sauce for dipping. I have had my fair share of bahn mi's so was pleasantly surprised by the quality. Service was quite friendly would come back here again if I wasn't from out of town. read more

While on a recent road trip, our family found Kitten and Pinky through Yelp and decided to make it our destination for lunch. The "mom & pop" description is so true! We saw just an older man and a woman working hard when we walked in to place our order. And maybe it was because we were all very hungry, but once inside the smell of deliciousness was overwhelming! My daughter and I both ordered the Papaya Shrimp Salad, very reasonably priced at $9. It was fresh with plenty of shrimp and delicious! My son enjoyed the BBQ Pork Sandwich and my husband went for a lighter dish, Fresh Spring Rolls. It took some time before the food was ready, understandable with just two people taking orders and making the food, but it is definitely worth it! If we are ever in town in the future, we'll definitely come by here again. read more

A hidden gem! Wow! My bf and I stopped here for lunch after a hike at Mori Point. We were totally blown away by the banh mi (and my bf has high standards for banh mi at that) We both had the #1 special and it was DELICIOUS. One of the best breads I've ever had - crispy but soft and doesn't obliterate the roof of your mouth. Meat to bread ratio is on point, and only thing I would have liked it a bit less mayo, but I'm not complaining! This is a mom and pop shop, so expect to wait if you're ordering after a large party (like we did). The owners are so nice too! Do your part to support your local businesses! I know I will be back to try the rest of the menu! read more

Great food and kind workers! I got a bahn mi, coffee & my mom got the chicken and rice plate

These are NICE people serving home-cooked classics from the heart. Trying to eat healthy by ordering their refreshing salads (papaya shrimps or Vietnamese chicken) but somehow that #@#$#@!! "Mayonnaise Bread" always slips into my order and its two steps back for one step forward. Because I often work fairly close to Saigon Sandwiches in the City I've never tried Kitten & Pinky's Bahn Mi but they look pretty good and a quite bit more refined than Saigon. Hint they're not food prep machines like Saigon so you want to call in your order a few minutes in advance. read more

We had BBQ Pork Banh Mi and Chicken Salad. The Banh Mi felt dry and not tasty. Seemed to be missing some sauce. The salad was similar. Did not feel the satisfaction we usually get with fresh salads. Or Vietnamese food is not just our thing. The ambience and service was as you would expect in this price range. There was enough sitting space and we did not have any issues with parking in front of the restaurant. read more

This place is a total disappointment. We went here looking for our usual spot Bunny to get to-go during COVID-19, but only found this new Vietnamese restaurant in its place that wasn't even close to being as good. Just like Bunny it is a place where you just order food, so we just ordered the Mayonnaise Bread, BBQ Chicken over Vermicelli, and Charbroiled BBQ Pork over Rice. However, the food was a huge disappointment because it didn't have a big portion like Bunny and the food wasn't close to being as good. The Mayonnaise Bread had Shrimp, Mayonnaise, Cheese, and Green Onion that is on four pieces of Bread. This tasted good while it was warm and crunchy with the creamy hot topping, but you couldn't taste the Shrimp at all because the other ingredients overwhelmed it and there was only a little Shrimp. The BBQ Chicken over Vermicelli had Cucumber, Lettuce, Carrot, Mint, Green Onion, Chicken, and Vermicelli Noodles. It was very meh because it had little to not flavor or seasoning for the Chicken and there was only a little portion. The Charbroiled Pork over Rice had Pork, Tomato, Cucumber, and Rice. It was also meh because it had little slices of Pork that had little to no flavor and some ingredients. Overall, this place is a waste of money because the portions are small and not very flavorful unlike the previous Vietnamese restaurant Bunny that used to be there. Definitely not coming here again read more

I've had Kitten and Pinky twice now and was never disappointed each time!! My go-to is the bbq pork and egg roll vermicelli. They're super generous with their portions - there was over 5 pieces of the egg roll and hella vermicelli noodles! (See pic) This mom and pop Vietnamese restaurant beats Kevin's Noodle House in Daly City by a lot in my opinion, both portion and price aspects. The family is also really sweet and welcoming. For this second visit, they gave some donuts with my to-go order. It surprised me, but it was so, so thoughtful of them. Highly recommend this spot for your Vietnamese cravings! Great service and food, and the bread is delicious you guys have got to try it! Vietnamese coffee was on point too

Glad to have found this a few miles from home. I remember being here for a Bahn Mi before, but under a different business name. Not sure if same or different owner, but this time around was amazing! Had a craving for a combo Bahn Mi. Too lazy to drive to the city and some of the familiar good places in South City were closed. Anything open in the area that even offered so form of Bahn Mi would've of been either grilled or bbq pork or chicken, and wasn't trying to have that right now. Found Kitten and Pinky on Yelp. Good ratings, nice pictures, a few miles away... why not? Walked inside and was greeted right away with a warm wave hello. Had a customer in front of me being helped, so patiently waited and looked at the menu selection. Of course had to get what I came for which was the combo sandwich, then the shrimp papaya salad caught my eye, so ordered that as well. Did not disappoint whatsoever!! The sandwich was full of filling, good balance of vegetables, meat, pate, and mayo! Wow! It was pretty stacked and was great with the bread fresh out of the toaster. With the amount of flavor and portion, it was priced accordingly. The shrimp papaya salad was excellent! Again, not skimpy on the portions, especially the shrimp, fish and hot sauce was on the side to season to your palette. The salad and shrimp were so fresh. Review May seem a bit embellished, but hey, I was impressed. Impressed by the flavor and freshness, and, happy that there is a close location in the peninsula for a good, authentic, Bahn mi! read more

I crave their sandwiches. Their bread is catered from San Jose. Same vendor as Duc Huong. Soft, light, and fluffy with a nice flaky crunch on the outside. They have a creamy pate spread and are generous with their pickled veggies. You can ask for more on the side! The egg rolls here come out piping hot and are bigger than the average. I also love their mayo toast! It was a very surprising treat for us. I've never had anything like it. It tastes like a loaf of better garlic bread! The vermicelli bowls are decent but not what I'd crave. Give this place a go. It's definitely a new favorite for us. If you're planning on grabbing a sandwich to head to the beach, I'd grab the Vietnamese sandwich and have it fresh! Hope you enjoy it as much as we do! read more

Great place for a quick and cheap lunch. I got the shrimp papaya salad ($8) and it was huge! More than enough for a meal. A generous amount of shrimp and plenty of herbs making it delicious and fresh. The couple (I'm assuming the owners) who was taking my order and making my food were really sweet. Even the way they packed my food showed the care they put into running their business. This place will definitely be a regular on my list of quick grab lunches. read more

so yummy & SUCH a good deal!! Got take out from here during the shelter in place laws and ate it in my car! The food came out super quick and $8 for this meal is so worth it!! It honestly tasted even better than a lot of sit down vietnamese restaurants. I loved how they added garlic chops on top of the dish, it gave it a really good crunch & flavor. The vegetables were pickled perfectly & overall there wasn't a single part of this meal I didn't enjoy. This place is great! I've had the combo sandwich and vegan sandwich. Both were delicious. The key to what makes these sandwiches great is the freshness and softness of the bread. No need to worry about the bread scratching the roof of your mouth. Just a note, the vegan sandwich has mayo, I'm not sure if it's vegan mayo so if you're a strict vegan that may be something you want to ask about. I also had the Thai iced tea with jelly the last time I was here. I liked the Thai iced tea because it wasn't super sweet but the jelly was kind of oddly crunchy so if I were to order it again I'd get it without jelly. The staff here is friendly and they're located a block away from the beach so you can order food to go and walk over to the beach to enjoy it with a view of the ocean. What's better than that! read more

Got the Pork bahn mi and it didn't disappoint. The bahn mi was huge and so filling! The vegetables were super crunchy and fresh and the jalapeño was extremely spicy but also delicious! The meat was perfectly cooked. Sometimes I feel like grilled pork tends to be a little dry but this one was super tender. The meat was super flavorful, with the slightest sweetness and perfectly juicy when you bit into it. The bread was also super yummy. It wasn't too hard where it hurts the top of your mouth. The outside was slightly toasted and the inside was fluffy. I definitely recommend the pork bahn mi when coming here! read more
