Great little bar in Costa Mesa, went on a Tuesday for happy hour and trivia night. Spent $40+tip on drinks for two people and won 2nd prize in trivia and walked away with a 1.75L bottle of black cherry grey goose. Came here for a friend's birthday. Apparently has a good happy hour, but my friend and I came too late and missed it. I was so confused when I first walked in because people had paper out and the host/dj was yelling things through the mic. I then realized they were playing a trivia game. I had never seen anything like that before at a bar, so it was interesting. The winners even received free alcohol as prizes. It's not necessarily the first place I would choose to go out because I like a more lively and danceable atmosphere, but I still had an OK time. It's definitely a more chill place. I wouldn't be opposed to coming here again. read more

Although this place is a pretty small venue, it's still cozy and comfy with nice seating and a chill atmosphere. We arrived right when they opened at 8pm. There are pretty chandeliers hanging from the ceiling and a friendly bartender who let us know that it was actually happy hour - what luck! There was a little DJ booth along the far side, which I imagine must mean that this place can get pretty poppin'. Maybe. They were playing country music, which was kind of strange for the mood but regardless, it didn't sound bad. I loooove this bar. Probably my favorite in Orange County. It just has a really cool vibe, the bartenders are always so nice, they place pretty cool movies in the background bar area, the counch area is pretty fun to chill and mingle. Not very upscale, just a little divey but not trashy. They used to have a free photo booth but now its $5. Drinks are pretty cheap. I enjoy coming here. read more

We were in town for a wedding and came here for a little nightcap based on a friend's recommendation. When we arrived the bar looked like it was being swallowed up by the generic shopping center around it. We were pleasantly surprised upon entering the bar that it was not the same inside as it was outside. Don't just a book by its cover, eh? It was spacious and had a lounge-y feel. Is that even a word? But the bar spanned along the backside and the bartenders were really quick to serve drinks even when it started getting busy. Drinks were not that expensive, IMO. We ordered and found a couch nestled in the corner and that's when the fun happened (amongst our group). I would say this is a good place for pre-drinking before heading downtown or wherever your night takes you. It's a good starter to anyone's night and is no frills. read more

Firstly...DRESS CODE!!!! Men, don't wear sandles or shorts. But, cool loungey place. It looks crappy from the outside, but way cool inside. By far one of my favorite bars to go to when I used to live down the street!! I loved it so much that I would be there 5-6-7 days a week sometmes with my friend who also appreciated its ambiance, interesting art displays and cool DJs playing stuff you couldn't hear on the radio, plus their green apple martinis are fabulous! We would go there just after it opened up so it was never as crowded as it is these days as more and more people discover it for themselves, but it's still a cool place to go have a drink before or after going out elsewhere. It was my first time here last Friday night. My cousin & I came here because Mesa was overcrowded. We heard that this place was down the street. It was in a random plaza, and it seemed like a hole in the wall from the outside. K will always have a special place in my heart as being the first actual bar I went to when I turned 21. They checked IDs and gave us a free round for my birthday! I like the laid back feel and friendly bartenders, matched with the dark and comfy mood. First night I went the drinks were great- tasty and solid with the alcohol. But I do have to say that I was here the other night and a couple of our drinks were strong- which is great, but def did not taste right. I'll consider adding a star after my next visit if the drinks taste like they did on my first visit! Happy Hour prices are a steal, $3.50 for most drinks- except for my Tom Collins with what was apparently really good gin ($7). If you're paying with card there's a $10 minimum, which isn't hard to reach and they'll keep your tab open if you order below that. Luckily, we got there a little after 9:30 on a Friday night and were able to snatch a nice spot to enjoy our drinks but once it hit 10:15 the place was packed. So if you're looking for a place to drink, relax and be yourself this is it. read more

Wow this place was dead on a weeknight at midnight, they have $9~$10 drinks. Decor reminds me of a ktown lounge in the early 10s. But hey it was open, service was good and we had good times. I'd definitely place this place on the back up list for that time of hour! read more

one saturday night me and a friend decided to "explore" the bars in costa mesa and found this i love the interior space and its style. i was abit tired when we arrived and i was driving so i didnt drink thats right i am a responsible designated driver . so i asked the bar tender to make me a non-alcoholic drink while my friend enjoys a beer ,the bartender was nice and did not charge me for my drink .the beer was priced right ,music was very hip and i love the photobooth and the projector over the bar . this place is great. read more

It's a mix of a dive bar meets hipster. Not a huge boiling pot of ethnicities it mostly seems to host Caucasian and Asian. The drinks are good and decently priced but beware if you are a smoker because they do not have a formal smoking patio. You can sit outside the front door but obviously you cannot bring your drink with you for that. read more

My brother and I came here to celebrate our birthday last weekend. We had a group of 35 or so. The place is pretty small so get there earlier than later if you don't want any of your friends waiting outside. Parking lot is also small but no big deal if you don't mind parking across the street and walking. The bar itself was clean and the crowd was cool. Price on drinks is good, especially during happy hours. If I could, the only thing I'd change about the play is the music, besides that good times! I'd come back. read more

Went here last night with my boyfriend randomly....it's in a funny little strip mall surrounded by all these restaurants but once you're inside it has the super cutest ambience. It's definitely on the smaller side so we got there at around 830 just in time for half off drinks. The bartender didn't seem like he was having a very good night I can't say he was rude but he definitely wasn't on the friendly site regardless of that, it was a really cool place and started filling up pretty heavily around 10 PM. by 10 o'clock a DJ started playing some really good house music with really great beats. Since we weren't out for a full night of partying we ended up leaving but overall a pretty cool place and we both agreed that we would definitely come back. read more

If you can find this place, this is a very laid back, cool scene of a bar to frequent. The place has a great feel inside and the furniture looks pretty comfy. I especially recommend to go on Saturdays, the DJs play a different selection of music which keeps the place hopping!! It's an ok place to chill. Definitely not bad if you're look for a low key place to chat and have a few drinks too. The crowd is... well, what can I say? Hipsters and douches. Not much you can do about that here in this part of Orange County. The bartender also stiffed girlfriend on her Cape Cod rather than making her a stiff one; I'm guessing our using the Yelp check-in coupon is probably why. VERY cool spot to go to! I've been here a few times and every time I had a blast. The most recent was when I came here on a Tuesday night. The DJ was hosting a trivia questionnaire that night and it was really entertaining! -No cover at the door which is how a bar should be! -Drinks are cheap! (50% off tab for first check-in with Yelp) -The bartender has a heavy hand heheh :D -They also have Absinthe on some nights which is a plus in my book cause not a lot of bars carry that stuff. I went there post holiday party with all of my coworkers from a local restaurant. I ordered a glass of champagne and gave the bartender Raquel my credit card. I was charged $21! I refused to pay that much for a glass of champagne. She made a huge scene-I have never been treated so poorly by someone I am giving my money to! Oh how I miss you. I used to frequent the Kitsch Bar atleast once a week for 3 years til I moved to San Diego. I still head in every time I make it back up to Orange County. Stiff er I mean STIFF drinks, fantastic bartenders that remember your name and hug you when they see you (Hi Maria!!) . Excellent happy hour deals and their Security Officer Greg is the BEST and a mean chef too! I wish I could teleport there! The only knock I have is increase your bottle beer selection, there are some great beers brewed in San Diego and Orange County and I think your patrons would love it!! read more
