Honestly I don't know anything about audio equipment or what they do and sell here. But I was asked by a friend to pick up a purchase here for him (a turntable) and wound up chatting with the crew for a good long while. Their knowledge of their products was really impressive, and a truly good group of people as well. We have just moved into a new house in the Sequim area and I now have a dedicated listening room. Our previous house had wooden floors however our new house has carpet. On setting up my rig I realized that I needed to raise my speaker cables off the floor. But the ones I was previously using were designed for wooden floors and do not work as designed on carpet. In doing my research, I came across AudioQuest's 'fog lifters' I thought the design was well thought out and the shape of their feet would work wonders with the carpet. Kind of like a praying mantis one sees in the desert. As Kitsap A/V is an AudioQuest dealer, I headed down to the store and purchased a box set of 8. It was nicely packaged and the individual lifters are made of quality materials. Victor, was very helpful and did a wonderful job in explaining the performance of the Fog Lifters and said he has had a lot of success with his other customers using them. I am so pleased with the sound improvement! In my rig it only took moments to know/hear that I had made the right choice. There is an improvement in the clarity and liveliness of the recordings. I now also have a larger and more three demential quality to my sound. I can highly recommend the Fog Lifters and the performance they bring to the sound. Let's see...where to begin. We moved into a new home a year ago and desperately needed an audio system (MUST have my music)! I did my due diligence on components, but we needed different "zones" where we could play different types of music in difference rooms and control it via a tablet or smartphone. The verdict? SONOS by far! We live on the Olympic Peninsula and needed to find someone to install it, instruct us how to use it and generally "be there" for us when something went wrong (as we are somewhat tech savvy, but only enough to get into trouble)! Silverdale is really not all that far from us, so we ventured out to a few audio stores to ask our questions and hopefully get some answers. We were immediately drawn to Kitsap Audio Video. We visited and were immediately greeted by "Victor" who was very understanding and patient with what we were asking for. Not everything we were saying made sense of course (well, it did in our little heads), but he understood what we needed. Now, enter "Derek", owner and audio/video extraordinaire. Derek talks a mile a minute, but....BUT he knows his stuff! There were some things we weren't sure we'd be able to do (as our house was being built and Derek needed to make sure cabling, electrical, etc. was installed where we needed it, so he worked on comprising a list for us to make sure it was done before our walls were sealed up). In the meantime, I went home and checked on reviews for Kitsap and Derek. VERY IMPRESSIVE! PRE-INSTALL: We returned after all was done at the house, purchased everything we needed to through Kitsap Audio (way less expensive than going to several different stores "for the best deal" and much more convenient, by the way)! Then, once everything we purchased arrived at Kitsap Audio, Derek came out to our home and installed everything, made sure it was correct, made sure it all worked and then gave us the run-down of how to operate everything. POST INSTALL: Derek even called us after the install to see how we were doing and if we loved our system!! Who does that? We knew at some point, something would go wrong by something we had done (which it did) and I called Derek for advice. He troubleshooted the issue over the phone (which was a very simple fix). Bottom line? The information, sale, delivery and customer service of Kitsap Audio (by both Derek and Victor) is A+++++. I have made multiple purchases in the past several years and I alway feel like I'm getting the best possible deal and advice on where to tweak my system. I've visited several high end audio stores in the PNW and found Kitsap AV to be a truly unique hifi shop. Other stores push extremely expensive equipment, cables and speakers on you and quickly lose interest in your business if it appears you don't want to spend that kind of money. HIFI isn't just for the top 1% people!!!! That's what makes Kitsap AV different. I live in Tacoma and wasn't very excited about driving 40 minutes to have yet another lousy hifi shopping experience, so I called first. Mike answered the phone and immediately put me at ease by actually listening to what I was looking for. In a nutshell, I was looking for some separates to run a pair of newly acquired Focal speakers with a budget of $1,000. Mike invited me to bring the speakers in so I could audition some amps. Long story short, they sold me some fantastic gear (for a few hundred less then I wanted to spend no less), answered all my questions and made me very comfortable about my purchase. The entire experience was fantastic. If you are into hifi and/or home theater, this place is a must visit. I love music and have been collecting records since I was a kid. So a couple years ago when I saw a "We have vinyl" sign pointing to Kitsap Audio Video I had to check it out. What a nice surprise I stumbled into. The shop is a legitimate record store with everything a music enthusiast needs. Best of all the owner Derek is a no pressure sales guy which is rare in this business. He has done a great job of stocking his shop with excellent gear that runs the range from high quality budget friendly to high end and he is always willing to demo what ever he has for his customers. He also hosts a vinyl night a couple times a month which is always a great time. First off being from Portland Or. and now living in Sequim, my choices are limited for stereo shops, sure their is the nutty folks just down the street, and i even gave them a visit, lack of choices there. I set up a meeting with Derek and was treated as if I was a old friend. I was very impressed with the not low, but no pressure. Most stores really try and push the "other stuff" you cant afford nor have not researched before you walked in, I new what i wanted and how much my I could spend before my wife would freak out. Derek has been trying to get me to upgrade my 20+yrs old Adcom amp for a few years now. I pretty much thought he was full of poo, it sounded good still. And dropping $2k or more on an amplifier seemed excessive, I'm at best a audio hobbyist. I just want good sound. But I'm a boy and can't leave well enough alone and picked up a Emotiva XPR-5, Led Zepplin 3 on 180 vinyl sounds phenomenal! Way more top end and midrange, it really doesn't sound like the same system. I'm very pleased with the price and sound quality. read more

After being frustrated for years by my inability to compare internet/TV services on my own, I lucked out when a friend recommended Kitsap Audio Video. Naomi asked questions about the features that were important to me, and a half hour later we had come up with a plan that she estimated would save me over $100 a month. She walked me through every aspect of what I needed to do to cancel my existing service, and followed up to make sure all had gone well (it was super easy, and it had). The next day KAV's installer came and set everything up in very short order. My new TV service (Dish TV) is easy and intuitive, and has everything I need for far less than I was paying before. Derek suggested I buy my own router which works much better than the one Comcast was providing, and it paid for itself in about 8 months. Best of all, I'm saving well over $125 a month, for BETTER service than I had before. I have recommended Naomi and Derek to friends who have also been extremely happy with the service and products they've received. Oh my goodness...I hope I didn't forget to write this review. We are so pleased with all of the equipment and expert installation from Kitsap Audio Video. They updated our tired living room system with an amazing Sonos amplified sound bar and rear wireless Sonos speakers. Topped off with a crisp and solid wireless subwoffer. I don't think there is enough space to fully describe the theater room set up. We now have three rows of recliners and a real at the movies experience. The owner went way above the call and did some down and dirty hard wiring both under the house and on all of the upper floors as well. And...like this isn't enough. He set up a whole house Orbi Wifi system with range extenders and multiple satellite modems. Now we can run our business by day and take a trip to the movies after work. Since I wrote my original review I have purchased a pre-owned pair of Focal Chorus 814V speakers in great shape from Derek for $600.00, a super deal and I am very pleased with them. I also had him convert my bi-wired Tara Labs Prism speaker cables to work with them and he used high quality Audio Quest 500 Series gold banana plugs and some method that avoids the use of high temperature soldering in order to not compromise the atomic structure of the conductor. I subsequently bought a few pieces of Sonos equipment as well from him for use in my office, so now I have great-sounding streaming music there. So as I stated in my previous review, this is a great place to go to just listen to music on lots of neat equipment and bring some vinyl with you and have Derek show you his record-cleaning equipment and get spinning. read more

I was shopping for a basic home theater system but I wanted to listen to speakers playing music so I could judge for myself and I wanted to talk with someone knowledgeable. I went to Kitsap Audio Video and I met Victor who was friendly and could not have been more helpful. The store is beautiful and inviting. There is a lot of classic rock vinyl LP's and equipment. The store is comfortable and there are several areas where you can sample the awesome equipment available. I chose a SONOS system and I saved some money. I bought a crystal clear sound bar based on the music I heard and after talking it over with Victor. He also provided some rock solid speaker stands that were half as much as the SONOS ones. You live with your sound system and you should enjoy the quality. Before you just buy something online or go to a big box store, go to Kitsap Audio Video. I installed the SONOS equipment myself with my iPhone just as Victor described. The sound from TV, which is a 2008 model, is crystal clear and gorgeous! read more

I can't begin to tell you how disappointed I am with this company. We ultimately spentover $10,000 on a combination media and DirecTV system. We were charged hours that were inaccurate. We were charged for services that were free with Direct TV, and charged for items we never received. Initially everything seemed good. Derek was an enthusiastic salesman that seemed to know the industry. He talked about how much better his services were because his company had access products that were less expensive than his competitors but were of equal quality. We were given verbal quotes but never a written estimate. When we were finally given our invoice, much of the work had already been completed and the price was more than we expected. In addition we found that we paid for items that we never received. We had to go back to them to try and get our money back. The only reason I'm giving this review two stars is because the tech person (Chad) was outstanding. He was the person who really was the expert. He gave outstanding service and expertise. In addition, their bookkeeper Naomi was pleasant and helpful. A business rises and falls on leadership. The owner of the company does not do any favors for his reputation. I try to post reviews that give both pro's and con's. I hope this helps you as you determine whether or not you want to hire this company. I also hope Derek will make some real changes that can help his business. read more

A great store run by great people. They really work with your budget which was a huge help when buying a new stereo system for my house. I've been to other high fi places that almost laughed when I said I was trying to keep it under$1500. Kitsap audio and video got me an excellent receiver, turntable, and a killer deal on a pair of barely used Boston acoustic speakers from their used equipment in the back.
