Where do I start? Having a co-diner who uses a walker we parked in handicapped parking. There is a ramp, walk up to the door to find it locked. Walk around to the front door, two steps up, but not to fear, easily conquered. Apologies aside about the door mishap, was here for breakfast, and a look at the menu. Coffee and waters on the order. Perusing the menu, noticing the closeness of the kitchen. Hearing the preparation and closeness of the kitchen was comforting. Orders placed, classic Benedict and scrambled eggs with sausage. Not long of a wait, food appeared. The Benedict's sauce was "velvety with a tang" nice ham to tag along with it. My scrambled eggs on the other hand, tasted tired and the sausage as well. The toast (whole wheat) didn't taste as if it came from a toaster, no jelly/ jam to go with? Lastly, the home fries, where do I start. Paprika seemed to be over seasoned, was I to dunk them on the side of ketchup? (Maybe next time?). You can easily drive by the restaurant, as it is on a main road. We're done with this place. Had a terrible meal 6 months ago (raw chicken, 40 min to re-fire) but wanted to give this local biz another chance. Two of the three meals tonight were inedible due to being extremely over-salted (and I'm pretty liberal with the salt shaker when I cook). Had to send one meal back, again 40 min to re-fire (this place doesn't get the concept of triaging to fix a mistake). Server didn't seem to care. Manager didn't come over. I happened upon this restaurant while I was driving through the town and saw there was outdoor seating. Even though, I ended up being seated inside the restaurant I still felt very safe. The tables were all very spaced out with screens between the tables. The food and staff was both great at such an affordable cost. The stars are given for service which was good. However the food was off-target. We started with the zucchini fritters and the Cajun cauliflower. The Fritters were so soggy and tasteless, we couldn't finish them. They had no flavor, and the texture was inedible to put it frank. The cauliflower was raw, with a thin layer of tasteless Cajun flavoring on poor breading that didn't stick, so it ended up just being a flakey mess on the plate after we gnawed through the vegetable inside. Now I'm all for raw veg, but $12 for a couple florets of raw cauliflower is a swindle. Having been turned off from the apps, my husband's theory was "it's hard to screw up a burger, I'll just get that". Burger was cooked to order and unremarkable (in the medical sense), but the fries were devoid any flavor or seasoning. We had to ask for salt and pepper to get anything down. I had the scallop gnocchi, which I was informed upon ordering that it was actually misprinted on the menu, and was $2 or $3 more than listed. It's nice to update the menu for guests even with some marker and tape if needed, than to spring a price change on them when ordering. I understand a lot has changed since Covid times for the food industry but a total lack of flavor seems like a silly thing to skimp on. I hope some seasonings can make their way onto the plates here, because I love to enjoy and support local biz! read more

Finally had a chance to check out Kith & Kin in Hudson. It's in a convenient location with a parking lot (small) which is a big deal for downtown Hudson. The restaurant has a really cool and light vibe. Food is all made very fresh. I didn't give it 5 stars because the menu was a little funky for me but we all found something. I ended up with a burger, which is listed from a local farm/NEFF, and some fabulous fries. It was very tasty and cooked perfectly. Other members of my party had the bolognese (I don't eat veal), steak tips, and some sort of eggplant sandwich (I am not an eggplant fan). the menu boasts a variety of items for your pallet including a dish with a homemade bechemal sauce, a broccoli and burrata fettuccine, and coconut shrimp noodles. The drink menu was fun and they have quite a few wines. I probably would have been more exited to try several of the apps but the group wanted dinner. I hear great things about their brunch. Went there tonight and did not enjoy, first thing we noticed was an odd smell in the air almost like a nursing home. We ordered the charcuterie board it was $20 (listed as market so for reference) it was yummy! I got the tuna wontons and a side of the cheesy polenta, the tacos were good and the polenta was ok but needed salt and there is none available at the table. My boyfriend got the fried chicken and only ate the corn, he really disliked the mashed potatoes and they did have an odd taste to them and were orange and had an odd smell, when we asked what was in them we were told just potatoes salt pepper garlic and buttermilk, but they were orange and did not taste like mashed potatoes. read more

Wow, came here after reading a yelp review. Very early on a Saturday. I had eggs Benedict - forgot to ask for hollandaise on the side - because some places put way to much on it. Not here! The ham was thin and flavorful, eggs cooked perfectly, home fries were tasty and the side greens were lightly dressed. Wayne had potato gnocchi with eggs, sundried tomatoes, spinach and hollandaise. Ate at the Kith and Kin for the first time tonight and was really excited about the unique menu. Man was I unimpressed. We started with the falafel platter app and it came with way over cooked falafel which appeared like rocks of coal. The sides with them were also tasteless. Then we order the carbonara and the short rib gnocchi. Both were way under seasoned. The beef on the gnocchi was not bad but the gnocchi were bland pillows of nothing. The carbonara had potential as the pasta was well done but there was little to no carbonara and free from any flavor. After $135 for two people, way unimpressed and sad. Waiters were super nice too and definitely recommended booking a reservation beforehand or you will either have to wait a very long time or not get in. I love the creativity in the dishes of this place - gnocchi for breakfast?? Yes!!! So I got the potato gnocchi and honestly...it wasn't all that. Gnocchi - 6/10 It was very bland. As in, the only saltiness in it was the bacon (which there wasn't very much of - maybe 5 small pieces max?) and the gnocchi was obviously pan-fried but the texture still seemed quite soggy. It wasn't crispy even tho it might look like it in the picture. Therefore the texture of the whole dish was overly creamy because of the eggs, potatoes, and hollandaise sauce. If there was a crunchy element to this dish to balance the creamy texture out this would have a better review. But it would have an even BETTER review if it was actually properly seasoned. My friends got the lobster and smoked salmon Benedict which was pretty good but ALSO under seasoned. We asked for salt and it did make the dish 100X better. Pancakes - 5/10 Not shown in pictures but the pancakes are pretty dry. Actually really dry. We got the raspberry mascarpone pancakes with a chocolate drizzle. It was really, really just okay :/ Overall, I like this place. It's good. But only good. Would I come again? Honestly not sure. This place is pretty pricey. I'm my personal opinion, I think I still like Victor's better as it's cheaper and has fluffy moist pancakes and properly seasoned dishes. read more

The owners do a great job keeping the menu local and different, with fun special burgers and specials each week. If you want to get your money's worth on a great meal then come and try Kith and Kin. Portions are huge, so much flavor and priced right. Came on a Saturday night busy but called ahead for table of six which they held. Service was slow for drinks each time we tried ordering including water on the table. Atmosphere was a bit loud so everyone had to talk loud in order to hear each other. We did find out that you can park across the street when Robinson's is closed otherwise parking is a further walk since their parking lot is small. The place is amazing. Wait staff is super friendly. Food and drinks are always great. Manager has been extremely accommodating during all of our visits. Today we witnessed management deal with an extremely obnoxious crowd quite efficiently. Dozens of kids were running ramped around the restaurant which was quite distracting. Minutes later they were gone. Kudos to management for looking out for the rest of the diners who understand how to act in a restaurant. Weekend days are usually very busy so get there early. Went for brunch. Great Eggs Benedict. The home fries and the side salad that comes with it are amazing. I also love the meatloaf breakfast hash. Friendly attentive staffing. My only complaint about this place is the horrible seats they have. The backing of the seats dig into your back and make you want to sit at the edge of the chair to stop the back pain. It's gotten to the point that when my family goes, if we can't get a booth we will either wait for one to open or unfortunately not stay. Hopefully they will get rid of those chairs one day. I do like what they did to the interior- simple and pretty. As for the food, everything was solid, but no dish knocked our socks off. Skip the clam chowder, it needs more spice added. My Parmesan crusted fish and chips were good, but could also have used more seasoning in the breading. Fries were delicious. My boyfriend ordered the half chicken which was good. The host staff was super friendly and worked quickly in a busy environment from the holiday weekend. Once we were seated, they were very attentive and made helpful recommendations and suggestions about the menu.... And oh boy, that menu! I wished for multiple stomachs so I could try a little bit of everything, but luckily I could do almost exactly that because they are so accommodating and were able to make it so that I essentially could have my cake and eat it too. Love this restaurant, especially for brunch! Food is always good, the cocktail menu is way better than your standard sad Bloody Marys and Mimosas, and I've never had an issue with service. My only suggestions would be that the chairs are at a slight pitch and uncomfortable for shorter patrons (booths are a must for this reason!) and I would recommend the owners install purse hooks under the tables/at the bar since there isn't any place to hang your stuff comfortably (tables are close together and many don't have extra chairs for personal belongings). read more

My wife and I stopped here for lunch while out for a drive--and we are so glad we did! The outdoor seating was well-spaced, all the staff were masked, and there were plastic shields and hand sanitizer on the way to the restrooms. Every time someone left a table, the table AND chairs got sprayed down. The cocktails were delicious (and deceptive--the raspberry iced tea is stronger than you think it is) and they have an excellent selection of beer and wine. We were on the fence about what to get, so we spoke to our server, Sindi. She suggested the duck sandwich for me. My wife got the pan-fried local chicken sandwich. The duck was served on toasted bread with apple slices and caramelized onions, which is definitely not a combination I would have come up with on my own. It was DELICIOUS. The hand-cut fries are perfectly crispy, and the side of mixed greens that my wife got was generous, to say the least. The chicken sandwich was also amazing. Came for brunch by myself and sat on the patio. Before my food or drink were delivered, one of the servers took the umbrella shading my seat to another table. He did not ask if it was okay, and it was pretty hot in the sun but nice under the umbrella. I asked my server to move it back and he said he wasn't allowed. I watched the other server move umbrellas around for the rest of my meal while I sweat at my table. Server offered to move me inside after my food and drink came out. My server didn't tell me there were no oysters when I ordered one with my drink. No offer to get a manager or anything to resolve any issues. There was trash all over the patio. He also had great local beer recommendations for my boyfriend. We found this restaurant on Yelp while driving through Mass. I wish we lived closer!
