Our experience with Kitchens Plus has been 100% positive. The showroom has a small footprint, but they packed more in than all of the big places we went to. So many options for cabinetry, tile, backsplashes, etc. The designer listened to us and made helpful suggestions. The build team was extremely thorough, measuring things carefully, double checking their work, and adjusting plans as needed. The project manager was clear, always making sure we knew what was going to happen each day. The builders were great at their jobs and pleasant to be around. They cleaned up at the end of every day. The job was done ahead of schedule and the work is beautiful! We will be working with Kitchens Plus again on a bathroom refresh. We did a full home remodel many years 35 years ago with a different company and it was rough. This was a difference between night and day. We loved our experience with Kitchens Plus. read more

In 2005 we had Kitchens Plus in La Mesa completely redo our kitchen and two bathroom cabinets and counters in Bonita. The work was superb and the crew extremely cognizant of our needs as well as keeping the place relatively spotless. Today it looks and functions superbly just as it did 19 years ago. In 2023 my son and daughter in law wanted to move the kitchen to another part of their house. The design they came up with turned the place into a wonderful meeting place for an extended family. We contacted Matt Barns and talked about my kitchen renovation I have been working on. Matt and Sarah came to our house to look at what we have to work with. They asked what kind of requirements we had and what we liked and don't like. A week later Sarah had a couple of designs, and I must say that she nailed it!!! Once we got the final measurements for the cabinets we were set. Now we had A LOT of cabinets going in. So about 6 weeks later they were delivered. Now the transformation begins. And what can transformation it was. Mike is the MASTER installer. Well that's the title I gave him. Came in and did his thing. His craftsmanship is 2nd to none. I was so impressed with his work. The time Mike spends to make sure everything is perfect is super appreciated. Now I have to tell you, I'm extremely anal when it comes to finish work. Mike met and exceeded our expectations. There were a few things that came up that were no fault of Matt or Mike. They handled with no problems. We hired Kitchen's Plus for a complete remodel of our kitchen and a bathroom earlier this year. The engagement started with several design meetings and multiple drawings were presented for various options and layouts. We were very impressed with the detail of the drawings, and selected a design that was exactly what we wanted. Any kitchen remodel is going to be an inconvenience, but Kitchen's Plus made it as painless as possible for us. They prepared a timeline, stuck to it, and finished on time. They were within budget, and any items that we added were detailed in advance. Their extensive experience is critical in a kitchen remodel. Owner, Matt, is an excellent manager of the various trades required. He also has a hard working staff, and he was regularly at our jobsite to supervise and answer questions. We have just finished a second remodel with Kitchens Plus. Two years ago they did our kitchen, and they have just finished a master suite with total new bathroom for us. It is exquisite, just what we wanted, and we are totally in love with how it looks and works. The craftspeople they use, the care they take with your house, and the way they come through on whatever needs doing sets them apart as people you want to work with. We hired Kitchen's Plus upon the recommendation of our son who was very pleased with the remodel they had done for him. We had them convert an out building into an accessory dwelling unit, with a bath and small kitchen. We can't say enough wonderful things about Gary and his crew. The tile work was perfect, and their attitude was always wanting things to be perfect, and for us to be happy. That we are! I can't say enough good things about them. They started on Nov 1. They stripped it down to the studs, put in a brand new foundation, took out the existing ceiling and roof, and put in a new bath and kitchen. We got our final on Valentine's Day. After receiving a high recommendation from a friend and meeting with Jen Timmons, one of their designers, we chose to work with Kitchens Plus to remodel our kitchen. Call us crazy but we decided to start this remodel 3 weeks before I was due to deliver our son! Among many things, we removed walls, took out a fire place, made an existing window larger and had everything down to the studs! Ours was no easy job and with all remodel projects the unforeseen always pops up. These guys always had a solution and always made it work out; on budget. Matt Barnes, the owner, is terrific along with Mike and Gary and the rest of their crew. They were all very professional, considerate and organized. Jen was absolutely wonderful to work with and always had great recommendations and suggestions. She even went granite shopping with my husband when I was stuck home on bed rest. This company goes above and beyond and their commitment to customer service is apparent in their work and their continued support even after the job is finished. We had a great experience with Kitchens Plus in La Mesa. (There is also a showroom in Miramar). They remodeled our kitchen in about 6 weeks in Sep-Oct 2008. We checked out 4 other cos before finally settling on this one. What really sold us was the designer, Karen. She was friendly, knowledgeable, and not pushy at all. (We met with one pushy "designer" at another co during our selection process and that was quite a turn-off!) She was open to our concerns (budget, space constraints, special requests) right from the get-go. Gary (the project mgr?) was also easy to work with, always checking in on the job, and responsive to phone calls and queries. They helped ensure that our appliances arrived at just the right time and Karen saved us money on a higher end counter top by finding us a beautiful remnant. We had a few minor issues with cabinet doors and wall baseboards (we asked them to come back to seal it to the floor with caulk) but these were handled quickly. We are very pleased with our kitchen and would not hesitate to recommend Kitchens Plus. read more

In the work stage, our crew was always onsite when they said they would come, and they never left in the middle of the job to attend to some other job. Their work was excellent, and they went the extra mile to do work that was careful and skillful. Our kitchen was always swept and vacuumed at the end of the day. Our kitchen was built in the 1970s, outdated, non-functional, & in need of a complete remodel.....enter Kitchens Plus. I received a word of mouth referral from a friend & after putting them against three other reputable companies & letting them compete for design...that's where the project started. The designer, Stefanie, listened to our list of desires & needs & with her experience in the industry came back with a design for the kitchen of our dreams. She gave us a fee quote that was comparable to the other companies & stuck with it. There was no nickel-&-diming once the project was started. The owner, Matt, came by for final measurements to make sure that it would go as planned & low & behold...it did. Matt would stop by weekly to make sure things were progressing nicely & that we were happy & taken care of. Acxel, the general contractor & workhorse for the project was a pleasure to have in the house daily. He was respectful of our home, kids, & the fact that it is always difficult to go through a remodel. He cleaned up nightly to have everything as nice & livable as possible for us in the evenings. We had a relatively big project from removing windows, knocking out a wall, raising a ceiling & we went from the foundation & studs to a beautiful modern kitchen. Stefanie held our hand from the beginning & would shop the local businesses with us to help in selection of countertops, flooring, fixtures, color, tile etc...When it all came together, it truly looked like she had drawn it up on the day of presentation. Kitchens Plus finished our concurrent kitchen and bath remodels in late August last year. So why wait nearly five months to write a review? We wanted to live with our beautiful new kitchen and bath for awhile to be sure the new functionality and usability would prove itself on a daily basis. Well, I can tell you that thanks to owner Matt Barnes and his Kitchens Plus staff our satisfaction is complete. The effectiveness of our kitchen design proves itself day in and day out. Mike and Loretto were the guys doing the majority of the work and I commend their workmanship. Mike was the lead man and his particular attention to detail certainly resulted in a better job. They were always on time, patient when we interrupted with questions, and cleaned up every day. My wife and I were rather particular on a number of things but Matt never blinked. He delivered on his commitment to resolve any concern we had. He stated that he believes "there are no problems; only challenges." Good attitude. He came by almost every day and always made us feel like he had nothing but time for us. He returned phone calls within a reasonable period of time. Any contractor is only as good as his or her last job and Matt understands this. We will not hesitate to use them again. Call their La Mesa office and ask for pictures.
