Ryan and his team completed our interior and exterior remodels in August. We are completely satisfied with the process: discussing a plan, providing an estimate, contract, progress of work, response to questions and concerns, help with design. The final results have made a huge impact on the appearance of our home and our enjoyment of it. We completely redid the fireplace, removing all the interior brick, bumping out the wall and putting in a beautiful electric fireplace. We love Ryans design for the fireplace surround. The TV mounting above the mantel was flawless. The crew also built a new pantry for us in our old furnace closet. Ryan's design was spot on again. The exterior, our house finally looks beautiful. Just wrapped up a full house remodel (kitchen, bathrooms, flooring, windows, painting, plumbing, electrical, lighting- and more!) for a rental property. It had not been updated in decades. We selected Integrity based on their thoroughness and attention to detail in the bid process and reviews. They were not the cheapest of the bids we received - but we had a lot more confidence in what we were getting into. It was an excellent choice all around. The house looks beautiful, came in very close to budget (and what went over was because of a serious problem that needed attention and pricing was very fair), and along the way we decided to add a few enhancements. I highly recommend Integrity Home Improvement. After living in our South Park townhome for more than 20 years we decided to finally complete a long-overdue remodel. Following a plumbing mishap (nothing to do with IHI) a restoration company had torn out half of our kitchen and part of an upstairs bedroom. Hence, there was urgency to starting remodel, but we didn't know where to begin. We met with a couple of contractors and designers and found many unresponsive to our need. We lucked upon IHI by referral from a coworker who had them remodel a bathroom. Ryan, the owner, met with us three or four times before we signed a contract. He designed a new kitchen, downstairs bathroom and living room. He spent a considerable amount of time with us up front to make sure we were getting exactly what we wanted and needed. He came up with a number of improvements that we would never have thought of that really made a big impact but stayed within our budget. He was always careful to communicate clearly what each improvement would cost and some items we accepted and some we took a pass on. He helped us pick out materials and fixtures, and he dealt with some extremely challenging situations including, dealing with our Homeowner Association and husband/wife client that had difficulty agreeing on decisions, installing a beam when removing a structural wall, and the disruption from COVID 19. If you think you can remodel your house without a few challenges along the way, you are fooling yourself. What is important is having a contractor who is very clear about what is and is not included in your remodel and who is your partner in finding solutions to problems at fair prices. Ryan did those things. He pulled through every time even when a large number of his staff were sheltering at home and not working full time during the pandemic. We had an horrible experience with this company!. No oversight of the job and poorly underpaid individuals doing the world. Ryan overpromises everything! They have no business doing cabinetry. Cabinets stained in wrong color several times, not plumb or square. Holes in walls that were not to be touched, Tile job had to be redone several times at our cost for more tile as the worker did not have the right tools. Workers slept on floor on the job. Ruined stucco that had to be repaired as construction debris was left against exterior and interior walls. They could not even texture and paint walls properly, doing it 7 times on one wall. They ruined a customized wall that was not part of job without remedy. Installation of dishwasher with connection caused major water damages that required a mold company and remaking of custom cabinetry that did not even fit footprint of original design with gaps on walls and floors. It was several Years of a nightmare dealing with Ryan and his workers that are so poorly trained. Minus 10 stars!! read more

Here is an excerpt from the company's mission statement posted on their website - "We feel strongly that all potential clients should become our customers so that we can ensure their positive experience." They also quote themselves as being "Reachable & Responsive". Words from the owner, Ryan, in the Meet The Business section of Yelp - "It is important to me to conduct our business in an honest, forthright fashion, which is unfortunately not common-place in our industry." As of this writing, it appears we have wasted over 30 days dealing with this company, most of which was spent waiting for answers to our questions regarding their bid for our total kitchen remodel. This being said, our extremely negative opinion of Integrity Home Improvements has now been born, despite what their published mission statement seems to imply. Our opinion of the company comes in part from this - Our latest questions regarding their bid were submitted to company sales rep Mario Lemus on May 22, 2016. It is now 17 days later and we have yet to receive any contact regarding answers to our questions (no emails, no texts, no phone calls). Our many attempts to contact Mario since May 22 have also been answered with silence. Given Mario's abrupt disappearance, we must assume he has decided to cease contact with us midstream of the bid aspect of the process. We did receive a phone call from "Yvonne" shortly after May 22, inquiring as to how the process between us and Mario was progressing. We advised Yvonne that Mario is not timely with his replies and we were currently again waiting to have additional questions answered regarding the bid. Yvonne stated she would contact Mario and remind him that we were waiting. As mentioned, more than two weeks later, we still have not received a response from Mario, despite his being prompted by Yvonne. Additionally, no one else affiliated with the company has contacted us to offer any explanation for this lack of communication. At this time, we have obviously decided to stop wasting our time chasing this company and take their lack of response, poor follow through, and obvious disrespect of potential clients as a clear indicator of how roughly our job would have progressed. On the bright side, we consider this experience an indicator that a bullet was dodged. Given the sheer number of San Diego area based home improvement firms in existence, one has to wonder why a company presumably in business to acquire customers and make money would have their reps spend a significant amount of time and energy with a potential customer, both in the office and the customer's home, only to suddenly disappear amid the process, thus becoming excluded from consideration for a very sizable payday. In the future, at least give your potential clients a modicum of respect by letting them know you are about to cease contact with them accompanied by an explanation. You should also consider revising your mission statement to something more accurate. Thank you for wasting so much of our time. PS - I've also read the review of IHI by Mike M. Sounds like we've had similar experiences. His review is hidden in the "reviews that are not currently recommended" area highlighted in very light grey near the middle of this page. Update: It has now been 30 days and still zero contact from these guys. No emails, no phone message, no text message, no explanation, no apology, nothing. Ryan transformed our recent fixer upper purchase into our dream home. Family and friends are stunned when they see the amazing transformation. Most importantly we love coming home everyday to our beautiful home! The original kitchen was small, dated and with an awkward layout. Love, love, love my new kitchen. We bought this house almost 20 years ago and the kitchen was still in the 1950's. We never could afford to remodel so when the time was right, we did a lot of research and found Integrity Home Improvements. Ryan came out to our house and explained everything in detail and just seemed some humble and honest---not a fast talker like so many of the others we interviewed. Our job consisted of a complete gut job and taking down a wall between the kitchen and dinning room. Our kitchen went from a dark ugly mess to a bright beautiful masterpiece. All the workers were great and always cleaned up after their days work, besides the dust which is expected, everything went fairly smooth. It did take about 2 weeks longer than planned, but part of it was because the floor tile had to be ordered. I used Integrity Home Improvements to do an addition of a second story on my home. After researching and meeting with various design/build firms over a year period, I chose Integrity. Prior to beginning my project everyone whom I told that I was adding on warned me to expect a long, stressful process. We lived in our house during this remodel and it was not bad AT ALL!! A large plastic wall separated my living space from the work that was being done. This minimized dust( there will always be dust) while giving me privacy while I was home and there were people working in the house. Ryan works very closely with you when designing the layout and choosing all the finishes. All while keeping my budget and allowed amounts for finishes in mind. I even made some significant layout changes which were done without hesitation. I was given a certain time line and the project was completed about 10 days after the promised date( and this was after all the changes/additions that I had made to the project). From what I have heard, that is GREAT!! Ryan and Jerahmee are great! They were very responsive to my many and frequent questions/ideas via email, telephone and text. Both also very trustworthy guys! All of the people working for Integrity are also trustworthy and hardworking. The majority of my project there were people working on Saturdays( which was no problem for me). I am pleased to say that my completed 2nd story bedroom and bathroom were EXACTLY how I had envisioned and I am SOOOO happy with my finished project! We had IHI do two projects on our historic home in 2016; an outside shingled balcony and concrete stairs with walkway. The bid was detailed, reasonable and the timeline worked for us. Ryan was very responsive whenever we had questions, and his workers were on time and professional. Balcony is beautiful and exactly as we had envisioned. At one point, part of the walkway was not the shape we had expected. After speaking with Ryan, that part was re-poured to our complete satisfaction. I mention this since we've not always had such easy resolution from contractors when things like this arise. Based on the work and work ethic of the company, we've just contracted IHI again to restore our historic siding. Project starting soon. read more

He was even able to match some tile from a different area although they didn't carry that tile, he called around until he found it! It is every homeowner's fear that they will end up with a nightmare of a kitchen remodel. For us, Integrity Home Improvements was our nightmare. The contract we signed claimed Integrity could complete the remodel of our kitchen and two bathrooms in 6 weeks. It took them 10 months, and we were left with substandard work, including crooked tile.The tip off should have been when Integrity asked to delay the work a week because they were still finishing another job.(We were supposed to start the last week of July.) We would soon find out that "another job" was always their excuse for not getting the work done on time. After 6 weeks, the first bathroom had still not been finished, and Ryan, the owner, had not yet ordered the cabinets for the kitchen. The work on the kitchen didn't start until late October, when the cabinets finally came in. Ryan promised we would have a "working kitchen" for Thanksgiving. That didn't happen because the gas line for the stove was not put in right. I wouldn't have been able to stand to cook for Thanksgiving anyway because one of Integrity's workers left a tool on our stairs, and I tripped over it, breaking my foot. (None of the work was upstairs so there was no reason for that tool to be left there.) On Christmas Eve, with a house full of relatives, we started tripping circuit breakers in the kitchen because the wiring was not done right. The worker who came after Christmas rudely told me that the work had been "done to code." Not knowing what code was, I called the city planning department only to be told that Ryan had never taken out permits for the work, as state law requires. Once that was accomplished, the city inspector had to come out to the house THREE TIMES to make sure the wiring was finally done correctly. The inspector's comment to me was that Integrity "does work that is good enough, instead of doing good work." Another example of this was the dishwasher; it was put in crooked so when you opened the door, the trays would slide out. Ryan's response to anything done wrong was "Oh, that's easy to fix." If it were that easy, why couldn't Integrity do it correctly in the first place? After Christmas, it was obvious that the tile was so crooked we couldn't slide the chairs back from the table without them getting caught. Integrity tried to pop out the worst tiles and replace those, but that didn't work. They ended up replacing the entire kitchen, dining, and entry tiles -- however, Ryan used the same tile company, so again the tiles were crooked, the grout colors varied greatly, and the edges were not finished. Ryan said it looked "good enough" to him so he would not fix any of the tile. During this time, it took months to get the baseboards and cabinet edging finished. For a while, we had long pieces of baseboards in our hallway, but somehow they disappeared, and Ryan had to order new ones. (We think they were given to a different job instead of ours.) Finally, Integrity just stopped coming, except Ryan did want his last check, which included "extras" that were not put into the contract. We contacted the California Contractors State Licensing Board and filed a complaint. In less time than it took to to our project the CLSD came to our house to inspect the work. Many areas were found to be substandard. The inspectors also found that Ryan had violated multiple state codes on our job, some we were not aware of, such as collecting more money than he should have before work was started. During this time, we also discovered Integrity had received citations from the CSLB for violations at two other jobs. Our condo HOA used Integrity Home Improvements several years back for a repair project and they did a decent job, so recently when we needed to get a bid on having some balconies rebuilt, I called them to schedule a time for them to come out and give us a bid for the work. I met Ryan at the property, we discussed what we needed done, and we agreed that he would provide a preliminary estimate for the HOA board to consider. The agreement was that he would get the estimate to me by the middle of the following week. The next week came, and I heard nothing from Ryan. A week after that, still nothing, so I emailed Ryan directly, still no response. I then sent an email directly to Yvonne, who is the office contact for IHI, yet again, no response from her. So now I call the office and spoke with another person, who told me that Ryan had just been really busy, but would definitely get me the estimate by Wednesday of that week. That was last Wednesday, three weeks after my meeting with Ryan. It is now the Sunday after I was last promised that I would get the estimate, and guess what? Still no response. I am very disappointed with the careless and unprofessional manner that my request for a proposal has been handled by Ryan and the entire IHI office. Perhaps Ryan is under the impression that he is the only busy person around, and that his customers' time is of little consequence. As an unpaid volunteer board member for our association, trying to address our property maintenance needs outside of my full-time job, I really resent having my time wasted and being treated in such a disrespectful way. At this point, I would never consider doing business with this company again. read more

Without too much detail because I don't trust them if they find out who I am...they did a $7,000 job at my house. It went bad after exposure to the elements and they won't do anything about it! IHI just completed an addition to our home including a new entryway and 4th bedroom plus they replaced the roof and HVAC and painted the exterior and much of the interior. This was quite a big job that involved a lot of coordination, also with other contractors. Ryan the owner and Marcos the foreman were great to work with through the entire project. Their team just got on with the job with little involvement required from us, were well organized and finished the job ahead of the estimated completion date. Ryan helped us choose fixtures and gave us ideas to improve our design. Anything that did not go quite as planned was discussed and put right. We feel so fortunate to have found Integrity Home Improvements. We purchased a short sale home that we absolutely loved, but the kitchen needed a complete gut. We were also toying with the idea of adding a bit of an extension to provide a dining area, which the home didn't come with originally. We interviewed a number of different contractors and encountered the following: high pressure sales, contempt for our budget (we ended up spending $40K, but I guess that's pocket lint to some contractors), and with some contractors I even noticed a distaste for dealing directly with me rather than my husband. Although we were equal partners in the project, the man of our home is not a big talker and prefers to have me handle dealings with contractors. Some contractors/sales people just ignored me completely, and others treated me like I was some kind of ball-buster and would make dorky jokes like "happy wife, happy life." Whatever, dudes. This is a business dealing. Just be professional. That's all we ask. Enter Ryan from Integrity Home Improvements. He treated both of us with respect, listened to our wish list and didn't pressure us to give him our exact dollar figure for budget, and never once pushed us to sign on projects we didn't have time to think about. Even better, his quote was very competitive with the other contractors we'd interviewed (quote NOT estimate. We knew upfront what the entire project would cost with no variables). So, we chose Integrity for our kitchen remodel and extension. The entire project lasted about three months. During that time, we always felt really secure with the people coming in and out of our home. They always wore t-shirts that identified them as staff of Integrity. They always smiled and introduced themselves by name. And most importantly, every day that we returned home from work, we were impressed with the quality of work we saw in each stage of the process.
