Hands down a bomb ass cooking class with a bomb ass chef (Tani-San). Will go back because it's so…read morecheap and everyone learned a lot! Few things to know though to make your experience smooth 1) go to his store and choose out your appetizers, entree, and dessert beforehand. The pictures make a difference 2) tell him in advance that you want to actually learn how to cook and tell him you want to help with prep. He told me that a lotta people just come and drink wine so he's gotten used to assuming to do most of the cooking. I guess people go to his class and don't want to get too dirty ? 3) bring your own drinking water and drinks 4) if someone is familiar with Japanese it helps a lot 5) he'll make the lesson private if you have more than 5-6 people. 6) his prices changes depending on what you guys cook. We paid 45 but still totally worth it 7) ask him to teach you how to present the food and he'll teach you that as well. Have everyone do their own and ask him to rank them. I lost. Some courtesies he was really thankful for 1) he doesn't ask to but CLEAN ALL THE DISHES. It's 45 dollars for a cooking class and otherwise you're leaving him to do it himself. 2) leave a tip! 3) ask him to join you for the food you guys made! Tani-San is hella cool. He's a old guy doing this for fun after working at various French restaurants.

Here are the basic things to know if you would like to host a private event with Chef Tani:…read more1) $39 per person 2) bring your own beverage and music (he has wine glasses) 3) his store front is just around the corner of the UPS store. I hosted a private corporate team building for the ten of us and we had a lot of fun. We brought our own beverages and music. The ambience is cozy and feels like you are just chatting away at a friends house while dashing in and out of the kitchen. Chef Tani is Japanese who specialize in French techniques. While speaking to him over the phone we had trouble understanding one another, we had no problem in person. I did 4-5 pricing quotes around the southbay area and no one comes close to chef tani's 39 dollars per person price. You need to schedule an appointment with him, and pick out what you want to cook for your appetizer, main entree and dessert. We had crab and avocado stack, roasted wild rice stuffed Cornish hen, and blancmanger. Chef Tani has done all the prep work so we just came so for the "fun" part. Everything was delicious and we had a blast team building, learning and just chatting away. I would come back to chef Tani again for another team building exercise or any of his private cooking lessons.

Two Cucina Bambini staff led our function, and it was one of the most memorable holiday celebrations I've had. For our fettuccini pasta making class, they had us set up with half the group focusing on making the pasta from scratch and the other half chopping ingredients to make the pasta sauce. All instructions were provided verbally without amplification but the staff really know how to project well so hearing wasn't an issue if the team knew someone was talking. Instructions were clear and the staff walked around to provide guidance while letting you still make the pasta/cook the sauce. Given how many people we had, it took about 2 hours to prep everything. In addition to the pasta and sauce, for our lunch, the staff brought out simple salads that were premade. Since this was a corporate event, I can only say how the experience was vs. value for money. But if prices were reasonable, I would consider coming back for a personal event since it was a lot of fun!

I was worried that some guests would be standing around, because they wouldn't be making everything on the menu, but Stephanie, our instructor, kept us busy. Emma and Kim assisted Stephanie. I appreciate their hospitality ! Shout-out to the team that responded to all my emails, too. Tips: - If you plan to decorate and wear the chef hats provided by Cucina Bambini, bring hair clips! They barely fit on an adult head. - Cucina Bambini provides some takeout containers. I recommend bringing bowls and aluminum foil sheets to help with distributing the leftovers. - You can bring your own food and drinks to complement the menu. - Bring your own speaker if you want to play a specific playlist. - Parking behind the building is small, so tell guests to allot 10-15 minutes to find parking.

And she does that through food and hand-picked dishes that you will never uncover without a guide. Even though locations may change per tour, our group tasted a mix of cultures and got some stories behind the dishes, the restaurants, and their owners. Few examples - * Russian cuisine - Herring with a pickled onion on fresh bread * Indian street food - I was surprised how much I enjoyed this vegan street snack - I would have never ordered anything without meat, and I dislike spinach, but the fried spinach snack was mind-blowingly good. * Mexican - Quesadilla with plantain. Again, no meat but it was soooooo good. * Chinese - Glazed Pork and pork-filled bun I won't spoil the surprise for some of the other locations. And more, and more - Total of about 7-8 places. You won't stay hungry, guaranteed. The walk itself is not challenging; there are no hills to overcome, even though it's San Francisco. Don't wait - Just go!

It took us some time to learn how to use the tufting guns properly and it felt like they were understaffed. It would've been nice to have more guidance throughout the process, like if we had any questions we had to wait a very long time for a staff member to be available to help. The seating for tufting is also very close together and it can get a little cramped. But as I mentioned earlier, we were very happy with our finished rugs. After we finished tufting, it took them about an hour to finish them off and we were able to take them home the same day. We also did decoden, which was fun! I was impressed by the charm collection, but it was very hard to find letter charms since they were all mixed up and scarce. Overall, the crafts turned out great, just disappointed by the service. I understand that it was a weekend evening and it wasn't the staff's fault, they were all very kind and understanding. Just understaffed! With tufting especially, having more staff available to help throughout the process if needed would make this experience much more enjoyable.
