We tried Hen & Heifer in Pomona and this one was an easy 10/10…read more I ordered The Narcissist, which is apparently their most popular burger, and I can see why. It comes with two fresh-ground premium beef patties, four slices of cheese, four strips of thick-cut bacon, lettuce, tomato, pickles, onions, and their homemade sauce. It was big, messy in the best way, and absolutely delicious. Shawn went all in with The Mannimal. Instead of a regular bun, it uses two grilled cheese sandwiches with a burger patty, cheese, bacon, lettuce, tomato, pickles, and onions in the middle. Definitely not a light lunch, but he loved it. We also shared the Belgian-style fries Cajun style. They were crispy on the outside, fluffy inside, full of flavor, and perfect for sharing. One thing that really stood out was the service before we even ordered. The cashier took the time to tell us all about their scratch-made food, explain some of the menu, and give us recommendations. You could tell there was real pride in what they serve. And apparently we weren't the only ones impressed. There was a consistent line of people waiting to order the entire time we were there. Everything tasted fresh, flavorful, and made with care. If you're craving a serious burger and fries, Hen & Heifer is absolutely worth a stop. 10/10. We would definitely go back. JustAskMouse.com

I heard about it…read morebefore, specifically some of the larger burgers like the Boss Hog, but I wasn't trying to eat as heavy before a concert. My friends and I got a heavy helping of information from the cashier after he asked if we'd ever been - which none of us had. He went over the menu, assuring us the ingredients were all freshly prepared in-house for the most part. I opted for a lighter (and cheaper) single patty burger - "The Creaminal", which featured a shmear of cream cheese and jalapenos. We also got some fries to share, as we were told an order could be shared between 2-3 people. We got an order of regular sea salted fries, and one order of cajun fries to share between 4 of us. They were right, it was plenty to go around. To start, the burger was good but nothing too extraordinary - especially given the lengthy preamble. But there was definitely some house made quality - and I definitely want to come back and try another burger option. So why give a 4/5 stars? THE FRIES. We were told the fries were fried in beef tallow which piqued our interest. It was immediately apparent that the fries were above average in flavor. I don't think I could stop talking about them for like 4 days. Out of the two, I really liked the seal salt better, but the cajun were also great. I enjoyed how the cajun had plenty kick to it without being overpowering with spice coverage. Even more than the other burgers, I really want to try some chili cheese fries next time I visit. Though, I'm weary it might be trying to fix something that's not broken. The vibe of the restaurant was super chill, order at the counter, can/bottle drinks only, everything sold seperately. It's a little pricey overall, but again there's a lot of in-house ingredient preparation (meat cuts, sauces, etc.). Next time in the area I plan to check it out again and see if I can find a sandwich/burger that can match the flavor of the fries.

We were a party of four and my kids loved it too, which is always a plus for me! I even took a little video because I wanted to capture the food and the beautiful atmosphere. The prices were very affordable, especially for the quality and amount of food we received. I also had the pleasure of meeting the owner, and what a great host! He came over to our table to ask how our food tasted and personally thanked us for coming in. That little gesture made us feel welcomed and appreciated. We ordered the following dishes: (1) Hot and sour soup. It was average. It was spicy and hot but not enough vinegar (sour) taste. It was also a bit too watery. I would have liked this soup to be a little bit thicker in consistency. (2) Noodles with Sesame sauce. On the menu, in English it says noodles with sesame sauce but in Chinese it says Dan Dan Noodles. This noodle dish was plain. It was simply noodles with a sesame sauce with a little bit of crushed peanuts. I had expected it to have some meat and perhaps a little bit of vegetables because Dan Dan noodles are supposed to have meat and vegetables with sauce. But this dish is exactly what the menu had indicated: noodles with sesame sauce and nothing else. I thought this dish was too plain and the sauce could be thicker. (3) Xiao Long Bao (Soup dumplings). These were decent. Not bad. I think this was the best of the three dishes we had today. Unlike most Chinese restaurants, hot tea here is not complimentary. There is a $1.25 per person charge for hot tea. Server was friendly and professional. Our order came out quickly. Although I was not impressed with the food I had today, I would come back to try other dishes.

I was hoping they would have a Taco Tuesday special or something but they don't... I ordered 2 carne asada and 1 al pastor tacos to go. They were prettty solid and delicious! Overall, still pretty nice though. I liked how they had the side bar, which it doesn't look entirely the cleanest, but pretty decent. Total for 3 tacos came out to be $9, so it's about $3 each. I was told it was $36 for market price but I was actually charged $37. I also got a soda and asked for ice and it came in the tiniest cup of ice with no lid. It didn't really work for me so I ended up not using that cup. The employee in the front was nice though. Once I got home I tried it and it was okay. It's not the best lobster roll I've had.
