this place is my favorite din tai fung dupe near the IE. i used to come in person every week cus the xiao long bao were just THAT good but i got lazy and now i doordash from here every single sunday. pork chop fried rice - 10/10 the pork chop is a lil crispy and the meat is really clean and I'm usually super picky with meats string beans - 8/10 they were good but pretty basic nothing special pork xlb - 10000/10 i actually think their xlb is wayyy better than din tai fung and everything's cheaper too. there's way more soup and the skin is really thin. my only complaint is their vinegar is really light and they barely give any ginger so i usually have to ask for more. vegetable dumplings - 5/10 my mom ordered these and they were just whatever sweet n sour pork baby back ribs - 4/10 sorry these need work... the color was off and the meat was not enjoyable for me but maybe i'm just picky overall this place is amazing for a quick meal just wish they turned on their a/c more cus sometimes it's stuffy. the servers are all pretty nice and place is never busy. super affordable and amazing quality for xiao long baos!! read more

I was excited to try a new dumpling house in this neighborhood. It was my first time here. The interior was nice. It is quite roomy. It has many tables. We ordered the following dishes: (1) Hot and sour soup. It was average. It was spicy and hot but not enough vinegar (sour) taste. It was also a bit too watery. I would have liked this soup to be a little bit thicker in consistency. (2) Noodles with Sesame sauce. On the menu, in English it says noodles with sesame sauce but in Chinese it says Dan Dan Noodles. This noodle dish was plain. It was simply noodles with a sesame sauce with a little bit of crushed peanuts. I had expected it to have some meat and perhaps a little bit of vegetables because Dan Dan noodles are supposed to have meat and vegetables with sauce. But this dish is exactly what the menu had indicated: noodles with sesame sauce and nothing else. I thought this dish was too plain and the sauce could be thicker. (3) Xiao Long Bao (Soup dumplings). These were decent. Not bad. I think this was the best of the three dishes we had today. Unlike most Chinese restaurants, hot tea here is not complimentary. There is a $1.25 per person charge for hot tea. Server was friendly and professional. Our order came out quickly. Although I was not impressed with the food I had today, I would come back to try other dishes. read more

Family of four decides to have dinner at nearest Chinese soup dumpling / noodles restaurant based on Yelp ratings. Jia Yan shares similarities of famous DTF in menu and some decor like the see thru window that shows chef making XLB or dumplings. Decor is traditional Chinese fast food. Service is very friendly. We order veggie udon (good), 10 pc pork XLB (good - wrap and ingredients not up to DTF level in my opinion), braised beef noodle soup (good, savory), pork chop fried rice (very good). Taste is on spot, pretty authentic. Portions is just enough for one adult for each dish. And overall vibe is couple steps down from DTF, first of all, restaurant is a bit too dark - decor is outdated. And maybe rethink about mixing bigger round tables and brighter, modern look. Food is solid. Price is competitive, but can use some promo as we have never heard of the restaurant. Maybe social media will help. read more

Very nice vibe and great service. Craving rice cakes since Din Tai Fung no longer has them. These were comparable and fresh. Chocolate XLB was smaller but pretty close to those at DTF. Not to mention that everything was served piping hot and fresh. Staff was polite and did not rush you to get in and out. But it is lunch in a Tuesday so that might have something to do with it. A great local alternative. read more

We came here for quick bite and had fabulous experience. The restaurant is very spacious and cozy. Delicious dumplings and very affordable. Pork XLB and Truffle & Pork XLB are excellent, arriving piping hot and packed with flavor. Yet delicate, the wrapping holds up well. We enjoyed braised beef noodle soup. The broth is so comforting and beef perfectly tender. Their fried rice with pork chop is great and crowd favorite. It paired nicely with the bok choy with garlic. I thought cucumber salad was okay. I had better at Din Tai Fung and elsewhere. Service is good and prompt. Food arrived quickly and staff came by regularly to refill our water. read more

Food had so much flavor, service was fast, restaurant was cozy, and spacious. We Will be back!

XLB here is truly authentic and tasty, very much resembles the ones you would find at DTF Taipei or HKG, and better than any DTF around SoCal IMHO, maybe even Dynasty Paradise. They have very thin skin that miraculously doesn't break, which is really difficult to find in US. And best of all it's so close to home! By the way the decor is cute and reminiscent of an old school Chinese restaurant but has a modern feel to it. Cool place to hang out with friends or family over ice cold Tsing Tao beer. read more

read more

I came to this place with my mom to try their xiao long bao dumplings. Place recently opened and located near the 71 fwy in Pomona. We usually get their seaweed and beancurd salad ($6.49), hot and sour soup ($10.99), string beans with garlic ($14.99), chicken fried noodles ($14.49), and pork xiao long bao ($13.49). The xiao long bao is juicy and the dumpling skin is thin. The soup was fine, but we did like their string beans and chicken with noodles dishes. They were seasoned nicely, the green beans were crunchy with a good amount of garlic. They have a Glendora branch as well. The staff is nice and the place is clean. read more

read more

Heard about this place, relatively new, opened late 2025. Very good dumplings, especially the wrap was excellent ! The 'little buns' were soupy, nicely flavored. Strongly recommend. Their spicy wonton was excellent !! Strongly recommend to give it a try - very good restaurant read more

I give this place 4 stars because the soup dumplings satisfied my cravings but there was major drama in the kitchen today during lunch on Valentines Day. What could they be possibly yelling so loudly about where the customers began to noticed and grew quiet. Literally screaming at each other in Chinese back there. Our server was efficient and nice. Like another review mentioned, inside is clean and basic (or outdated) but that won't stop me from coming back. I'll be back. Going to Din Tai Fung is somewhat a trek from San Dimas. I also noticed a lot to go orders being made and picked up. The restaurant is spacious and there were a good amount of people eating there as well. I just hope the staff in the back get a grip on themselves and not yell at each other unprofessionally. read more

Food similar to dtf however it's far from it Taste soup dumpling xlb skin is a bit dry and not much soup inside dumplings Portion is quite small for the price. Some xlb only come in 5 pcs Atmosphere and decor looks dated and old and not very inviting Very empty on a weekend Sunday Service is average even with only 4-5 tables less than half full. Biggest downside is portion and price really doesn't leave much impression for me to want to go back read more

One of our old friend works here and it turns out that the chef used to work with DTF (Din Tai Fung). No not what you think! Yeah the dumplings and hot and sour soup were both spot on. Dumpling was juicy. Soup was pretty good but a slight difference in my opinion. I would definitely come back. read more

I go here a lot especially when I'm craving something warm. Pretty consistent and fast

If you're looking for a cozy, soul-warming spot to escape the chill and indulge in dumpling heaven, Jia Yan Dumpling House is it. I came here for a work lunch with five colleagues, and not only did they accommodate our group with ease, they made us feel like we were stepping into someone's home in the best way possible. The environment is incredibly homey: warm lighting, welcoming staff, and that comforting aroma of freshly steamed dumplings that hits you the moment you walk in. It's the kind of place that makes you want to linger, laugh, and order seconds. Now let's talk food. The dumplings? To die for. Seriously. Each bite was bursting with flavor, perfectly balanced between delicate wrappers and savory fillings. I've been to Din Tai Fung more times than I can count, and dare I say Jia Yan might just edge it out. The flavors are just as refined, but with a touch more heart. It's like the difference between a symphony and a soulful jazz solo both masterful, but one hits you deeper. We tried a variety of dishes, and every single one was a hit. The soup dumplings were rich and velvety, the pan-fried ones had that perfect golden crisp, and the sides were fresh and satisfying. No misses here. Service was top-notch. Friendly, attentive, and genuinely kind the kind of staff that makes you feel like a regular even on your first visit. This place is a must when the weather turns cold. It's warm, comforting, and absolutely delicious. I'll definitely be back maybe with more coworkers, maybe solo, but definitely hungry. --- Want to add a playful line or a clever title to make it pop even more? read more

Came in here a few months ago food was OK. Nothing spectacular. The vibe was kind of lonely inside not a lot of people came here on a Friday night. Service was above average again. Amazing service, delicious food. I highly recommend the mango green tea and pepper beef udon noodles. Nice interior too.

The place finally opened and wow, it was worth the wait! We came with a small group so we could try a little bit of everything. As soon as the staff started bringing out our food, we noticed something familiar... turns out the entire team, including the chef, worked at Din Tai Fung for 20 years before opening their own spot! You can truly taste the passion and craftsmanship in every bite. The dumplings were spot-on delicate, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. Everything we ordered was excellent. If you're in the area and love dumplings, this is the place to go. Think Din Tai Fung quality, Thumbling charm, and genuine hospitality. They didn't disappoint this one's going to be a local favorite in no time. read more

We ordered five dishes but the picture showed picture with only three dishes. We also got the Juicy Dumpling (XLB) and Spinach with garlic. Plenty of parking and the ambiance was nice and friendly. read more

Went back to try some other dishes and it didn't disappoint. Will definitely go back again soon...and this time, they have more servers.

In addition to the dishes pictured we ordered the green beans, baby bok choy, shrimp fried rice, and chicken dumplings. EVERYTHING was amazing. We usually venture out to Covina for thumbing, and we found this new spot on yelp. We were a little discouraged because it wasn't packed. Come to find out this location has recently opened. It was really good. I love ordering several dishes to see what I would order again if I came back. My family agreed we would definitely be back and would order everything we ordered this time around. We didn't even have leftovers we finished everything. Andy helped us out and was super friendly and helpful. Cant wait to come back. read more

Food was meh. Dan Dan noodles had no flavor. Portions were teeny, weeny. Won't be ordering take out from this place again.

I want to start off saying the service was very sweet and friendly! The spicy wontons were soo good. definitely my favorite thing we ordered. The beef udon was good texture but didn't have much flavor in my opinion but my boyfriend enjoyed them. The chicken dumplings were delicious! We both enjoyed them. The baby back ribs weren't very tender but still enjoyed, although they had a strong fish oil taste. Overall good experience! read more

Super delicious food and a convenient location ! My friends and i got xiao long bao, fried rice, bok choy, the braise beef soup (i think) and the dessert xiao long bao. They were all really good and enjoyable. I will agree with other reviews that the dough can be a little dry but that didn't ruin anything for me, it's only the top tip lol. The staff was attentive and friendly and the place itself was spacious and they were playing Harry Potter so that's a plus haha ! read more

None of the dishes I ordered were good. Would not recommend. The honey walnut shrimp was nasty. The pork xiao long bao did not come with any chili sauce to go and had no flavor. The pork in the spicy shrimp and pork wonton was sour so either it was sitting out too long or meat quality is very poor. The sliced chicken noodle soup is bland. Overall, it was a waste of $60 to try any of the food here. You're better off going to Montclair or Diamond bar. read more

The portions were just too small for me. My friend enjoyed it to a certain degree. I couldn't tell cuz he kept pouring soy sauce all over his food. The tea was hot. I like the table settings and the silverware with their name on it so it was professional. But food wasn't that great. The Jasmine t was hot and good and I like the way that they slice the lemons but. There was no mushrooms in the mushroom fried rice It had regular vegetables the corn rice carrots and peas and chopped up mushrooms that were minuscule. But the customer service was good they were friendly the food came out fast so 50/50 I'm going to have to give him a C minus. I have to give him a three. The customer service was good. read more
