I don't understand the average 3 star review. We have had other contractors with their subcontractors in our house and that was a disaster and extremely frustrating. Our experience with The Kitchen Experts of California has been hands down the BEST contractor experience we have ever had. Are there bumps, yes. Am I super picky and demanding, yes. Have they ever said no or been unreasonable, absolutely not. Our kitchen remodel and bathroom addition started in 2019. By by mid 2020 we finally had four quotes. One from a Berkeley firm that was immediately tossed because the price was so outrageous. One from a general contractor and we said we could not go through that again and the mystery of add-ons was frightening, one was a "direct competitor" of the Kitchen experts, but we had an off-putting vibe from the initial meeting. And by far our meeting with Johnny clicked immediately. When we got the Kitchen Experts quote it fell in line with two of the other quotes and having a guaranteed project manager was the tipping point for us. So, in August 2020 we signed the contract, picked our flooring, cabinets and other goodies, all with the specter of Covid in the background, then the world really did fall apart with Covid. Fortunately, the Kitchen Experts didn't. They kept pushing through. We're we nervous, hell yes! Did we call them constantly, of course. And they would keep us informed. We were in the new Covid waiting room. On July, 30, 2021 they started demo. They even allowed me to take Timelapse video of the progress and it was incredible, the attention to detail was by far a thing we have never experienced with any other contractor. Bottom line, they gave us a gorgeous kitchen and bathroom. And any hiccups we had were resolved in a timely manner. We could not be happier. So happy, we recommended them to Gina M., check out her review on their bathroom. I ain't kidding. We are very happy. I really wish yelp allowed longer and proper aspect ratio videos.

Kitchen Experts made my kitchen remodel experience very painless! I had a flood in my kitchen that forced me to have to remodel, and I had NO idea where to begin! 2 years later, after living in a halfway torn up kitchen, I found Kitchen Experts. Their lead designer Johnny Gonzalves helped me to create a vision for my kitchen. I didn't know where to begin, but Johnny's design and layout gave me a floor plan that I could never have imagined on my own. He guided me through the process of selecting cabinets, countertops, flooring, and all the appliances and cabinet features. I picked everything out in 1 day thanks to Johnny and their amazing showroom! The flow is now incredibly efficient and I love alI the slick features he turned me onto. I love even more that KE is a one-stop shop and my kitchen, which was a complete gut-job, was complete in 5 weeks! The foreman Efrain was great to work with and responsive to all my concerns during the construction process. My kitchen is my new happy place and I couldn't be more pleased! Highly recommend Kitchen Experts if you want the work done quickly and need help visioning and designing what your new kitchen could be!

If you have had any construction done to your house before, you know that the process can be a roller coaster but with Kitchen Experts, you'll have someone holding your hand next to you the entire ride. And that was so comforting. I would highly suggest that any verbal agreements that you make with any of the staff be documented in email because there is so much going on all the time and it's good to leave a paper trail. We worked with Dean, Tim, Denise, and Claudia from the office and the ladies were rockstars!! They responded promptly and called back in a timely manner. I could always count on them. I think that Dean and Tim were just so busy with other projects that responses were confused and delayed at times. But Denise was assigned specifically to us so her support and advocacy made the whole process so smooth and enjoyable. They understood that we worked hard for the money we were investing into our kitchen and were able to really support us. For those who were actually working on constructing our kitchen, I hope they all get bonuses because the work they achieved went above and beyond what we thought we could achieve in our house. Felipe, our foreman was a B O S S. And Elvis was a rockstar. We felt so safe and we were able to visit the store and pick out and feel the materials that we wanted in our kitchen and were even able to choose what pieces of granite we wanted where. Whenever complications arose, which were to be expected, Kitchen Experts handled everything with great customer service and professional care. Disclaimer: the kitchen my dad wanted was a more traditional and classy kitchen but also secretly commercial because he is a professional chef with a restaurant that we've owned for 30 years. Kitchen Experts can definitely do a more modern feel (something more suited to my Pinterest Boards) but this is just the style my dad wanted.

Kitchen Experts is a 5 star company with exceptional service and superb workmanship. They replaced our countertops and I'm blown away with how beautiful they turned out! The owner was hands on throughout the process and Alan was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable every step of the way. The crew was clean, wore masks, put down floor coverings, and left no trace when they were gone. The whole process happened so quickly and I'm still in shock that they completed the demo and install in one day. Thank you so much Kitchen Experts! We'll definitely be back for our next big project!

We hired a general contractor and agreed to use all of their selected subcontractors except for a small subset we insisted on selecting ourselves, including Custom Stone. Custom Stone came highly recommended by multiple stone suppliers and other fabricators in the Bay Area. The scope of our stone installation was large and it was critically important that we select a fabricator who had experience with higher-end homes and highest-quality installations. Our scope included a master bathroom consisting of a double vanity, an 8' tall all-slab master shower and an undermounted roman master bathtub; a large kitchen with multiple stone surfaces including a 12' x 9' island; two guest bathrooms with marble slab vanities; a guest bathroom all-slab shower; an all-slab marble surround and hearth for a 42" fireplace; a custom designed and constructed semi-precious slab backlit bar; and an outdoor BBQ counter with Neolith. At the outset of the project, Custom Stone joined us during trips to various stone yards, advised us on the considerations of different materials, and helped us to obtain the most competitive pricing with their relationships. During the fabrication process, Custom Stone sent us multiple detailed design mock-ups and welcomed us to participate in the process. They recently invested in state-of-the-art fabrication equipment and technology that enables Contractors and Owners to see exactly what output they can expect, and to efficiently and flexibly provide input into the design and configuration decisions. For example, their new 3-D Laser measuring system and real-time digital vein-matching software allowed us to approve our slab layout before the fabrication started. Custom Stone's CNC waterjet cutting machine enabled exceptionally precise cuts on the material that we didn't find possible with other fabrication firms, allowing Custom Stone to produce the highest-quality end products for our project. Custom Stone's work is uncontestably one of the highlights of the new home and has significantly enhanced its aesthetic and value. We cannot speak highly enough of their work and the process of working with them. They worked and collaborated well with other trades/subcontractors, offered up creative solutions and demonstrated an unwavering commitment to quality. When we were selecting our stone subcontractor, we considered five (5) criteria in the following stack-ranked order: (1) precision in design and craftsmanship, and attention to detail; (2) knowledge of products/materials; (3) design skill in assembling pieces to create contiguous and less visible seams; (4) use of current technology and tools; and (5) reliable and on schedule. Custom Stone achieved the highest marks across all five criteria. We would certainly recommend and hire them again for whatever scope project we consider in the future.

If you want to hear about the overall experience and level of service, then read on... I started off my search by messaging multiple people/companies about countertop fabrication and installation. Some messaged me back, some gave very minimal responses, some places had high prices, some didn't have time for all of my questions. This is the first time I've done any countertop work and I did a lot of research on many different places and scoured the Hayward/San Leandro area and beyond to look at different countertops, designs, etc. Alvaro always responded to all my messages and emails. Every single time. Sometimes my messages would be weeks apart. When I finally made my decision to go with him, it was well over a month from when I first contacted him. He stuck with me all along the way and that left an impression on me, especially in this type of business. I had a few strange questions about different options and configurations of the counters and he was always responsive with open and honest opinions and information. Once I finally picked out my material, he met me at the shop where I purchased the counter to check out the material and he helped me make sure we were getting a good piece that wasn't too warped. All of this helped reassure me that he approved of my selection and that his trained eye could notice things that I wouldn't be able to notice on my own. He picked up the slab with his truck and took it off to fabricate and cut. He showed up a few days later for the install and it was done in no time. Oh, I forgot to mention that he stopped by and did a consultation and looked everything over and provided a ton of really helpful advice and analysis of the job, how he would suggest doing it, what he wouldn't suggest etc. He also brought some samples with him for me to check out and offered a great price on countertops that he already had on hand. The entire experience is everything that you would hope for in a countertop install. I will recommend him to anyone that need any countertop work. The pricing was some of the best I could find, the work was high quality (still looking great and holding up 7 months in) and Alvaro was a pleasure to work with. Thank you very much for everything!

He was great and very clear answering my questions about the feasibility of the project, what material to use, and the timeline he could do the project in. He gave a great recommendation of where we could find a slab the size we needed (we needed an unusually large slab and he knew exactly where we could go - MSI in Hayward!). He came earlier this week to measure and make a template for the slabs, then came this morning to install with his team. It was quick, easy, and excellent! Him doing preparation with a template to take into account imperfections where we were going to install was excellent and the slabs look beautiful in our space. I highly recommend him!

Avoid for Large Projects - Poor Communication, Costly Mistakes, and Delays…read more I would not hire R&A Stone and Tile unless you are a contractor yourself and can monitor the job 24/7. They may be fine for small tiling jobs, or a cheap kitchen flip that you don't care about the quality but anything beyond that is a mistake. Project Experience: -Disorganized & Poor Communication: Ruben, the contractor, constantly miscommunicated with his crew, leading to errors and wasted time. The crew speaks limited English, and Ruben failed to properly relay instructions. -Constant Rescheduling & Delays: The project was plagued with intentional delays because they were trying to juggle randoms crew members to the job site. They do not have a dedicated crew. To keep the job moving, I had to step in and install my stove hood myself. Quality of Work: -Minimal Supervision & Costly Mistakes: Ruben was only on-site for 30 minutes to an hour a day. The crew made frequent errors, wasted materials, and ultimately cost me an extra $5,000 in materials. Unprofessional Workmanship: -A crew member (Adrian) improperly used self-leveling, causing mortar to seep through walls and doors. -The same worker almost set my kitchen on fire due to incorrect wiring. -A junior crew member (Manuel) threw away new materials, further increasing costs. -My husband and I had to redo the wall texture they applied because it was done so poorly. -The countertop was improperly installed (by Victor), leading to a post-installation crack. The contractor promised to fix it but was a no-show, wasting an entire day of our time. -The dishwasher was incorrectly installed (Ricardo), requiring my husband to take a day off to reinstall it. Material Pricing & Usage: The contractor ordered materials on my behalf, but the pricing changed and was increased without transparency. The crew also took materials I paid for to use on other job sites. Also on two occasions, we had to order more tiles at 3x the cost because all the measurements were incorrect. Other Issues: -The crew trashed and clogged our bathroom toilet. They denied responsibility until I installed a camera--only then did the issue stop. -Never reimbursed or refunded for damages and extra expenses. Final Verdict: Ruben is a nice guy and means well, but his company is not equipped for big jobs (over $10K). If you have a small bathroom tile job, they might be fine, but anything beyond that--find a better contractor. We rushed to finish the project just to be done with them, and in hindsight, we should have hired someone else from the start. Do not make the same mistake we did. 2/5 - Would not recommend for major home renovations. Recommend for small jobs only.

I walked through Bay Area Cab's Dublin showroom a few times to confirm they have cabinet styles and colors I liked, and the employees were very accommodating in letting me check out cabinet door samples to see in my actual kitchen. I'm so glad I did that, because the color we originally wanted ended up looking dingy in our northern facing kitchen. We went with their Icy Avalanche color, which is a cool toned grey, and have never loved anything more! The design and estimate process was simple and likely less time consuming than even wading through the IKEA kitchen designer yourself. Chrissy was patient, professional and very knowledgeable and made sure every detail was handled to perfection. She even hopped on the phone with our contractor a couple times to make sure every measurement was exactly correct. But her excellent customer service really came into play after our cabinets were delivered and we discovered an issue--due to a slant in our kitchen floors that weren't accounted for in our original measurements, our crown molding wouldn't fit! She and her sister, who heads their other branch, redesigned and supplied a new molding quickly so that our remodel wouldn't be too behind schedule. And if that wasn't enough, when my contractor mis-installed a drawer, Chrissy replaced the broken pieces for me immediately. For just the customer service level alone, I'm so glad I went with Bay Area Cabs. There are already so many small things that can go wrong in a kitchen remodel, and I was so glad to have the cabinets be headache-free! Finally, the quality of the cabinets is amazing. We've been in our new kitchen for about 6 months now and are happy to report that all our cabinets, drawers, shelves and doors are working perfectly. We're so happy we chose Bay Area Cab Supply for our kitchen and hope this review helps more people find out about this awesome family-owned company!
