Good Morning I would like to submit an update. We have discovered the floor has 2 dents in it. These are hard to see but as the sun position changed they were very noticeable. in the AM as the sun hits them they are very apparent. We asked KE to come and look at them. It took 3 month's for this to happen with many emails and some VM's with no response. After looking at it the worker's had to report back. It took another month and multiple queries asking what is going on for this to be addressed. When they finally responded all we received was a quote for $3000 to fix it. No explanation. No discussion. Just a quote. We feel that because this was not noticeable until the sun hit it and we had not done anything for this to happen this should have been under warranty. This price does not even include material as we have that leftover from the job. Although overall happy with the kitchen we feel their after job support lacking and communication worse. The sign off process was a bit rushed so beware. Use them at your own risk. read more

Kitchen Experts was AMAZING: Johnny, our designer, met with us in our home walked us through the process, then took us to their design space to help us choose our new look for the bathroom. While I was stressed out and tongue tied, Jonny was calm and reassuring; he sussed out our general desires of what we were hoping the bathroom would look like, and he helped us coordinate what would eventually be a beautiful space. Our project manager, Jared, expertly kept us apprised of the schedule of the workers, coordinated our payments, and patiently answered our questions as they came up during the project. The workers were professional, clean, and friendly (I've never heard so much singing during a bathroom demolition in my life!) our contractor, Efrain, was professional, courteous and made sure everything took place according to plan. So, long story short, my kitchen cabinets definitely needed a major facelift and I finnallllyyyy decided to actually make it happen recently and am extremely happy with the outcome. A friend of mine had gone through Kitchen Experts last year so I gave them a call. Super friendly over the phone we set up an appointment to get the ball rollin right away. Bryce came out and showed me a couple different designs to choose from on this pretty legit digital interface. It was hard to choose from because they both were beautiful! Stay away from this company. False company advertising using unlicensed sub contractors. Research other companies. The quality of work is poor. We do not recommend Kitchen Experts and would give zero stars. ***See continuation on the review #7-12*** 7. Electrician replaced all electrical lines in kitchen and covered with insulation prior to city inspection. City inspector was upset and inform the electrician to remove all insulation so inspection is done properly. Corrections were made on the spot during the city inspection. 8. We had to obtain our permit at city hall. Should have been done by Kitchen Experts has they claimed their company is a one stop shop. Kitchen Experts is not a one stop shop and uses unlicensed sub contractors. 9. We purchased a Samsung Refrigerator at Kitchen Experts Appliance Store in Pleasanton, CA. and informed the Appliance store manager to ensure a new model is to be delivered and not the store floor model on display. We took a photo of the store model display as their were dents on it. A week later, we received delivery of the exact store floor model with dents. We called the Kitchen Experts Appliance store and complained to the store manager as well as contacting President of Kitchen Experts who is also the owner of the Appliance store. Refrigerator was returned now causing a week delay. A week later, we received the second attempt on delivery of our new refrigerator. The delivery truck pulled up and we asked to inspect the Samsung refrigerator before unloading appliance. We found a damaged hole seemed to be a fork lift puncture the side of the fridge. We were very upset and called the President of Kitchen Experts to request an immediate full refund for the fridge and explained what had happen on the second delivery. The owner seemed hesitant in returning our full refund until we informed him that we will file a complain. A week later we got our full refund. We purchased the same exact Samsung fridge at Home Depot and save $1000. That's $1000 cheaper than the price at Kitchen Experts Appliance Store in Pleasanton, CA. The best part was, it was delivery timely with no damages and installed properly. 10. Do not buy any products at the Kitchen Experts Appliance Store, in Pleasanton, CA. Johnny who is their designer is a scammer and will offer you a buy one, get one free when the cost of the free item is already included in the first item. The store manager sold us a Thermador range and was not knowledgeable about the range and all the accessories that need to be included for range to work properly. We purchased the Thermador range, Kitchen Experts electrician installed it and he too was not knowledgeable about the required back vent for range to work without causing fire. The range was placed in, we turned it on and to find out the backsplash and wall was so "HOT", it could have cause a fire. It's a good thing that we checked on it and turned if off immediately as it would have caused fire in our kitchen. We visited the store manager and informed him of the problem and he stated we had to pay $500 for the range heat back frame. We stated that we will not pay as it should have been part of the range. We told him to have someone remove the range from our residence as we no longer want it and we left. The next day the appliance store manager called and stated that the President of Kitchen Experts said we will get the back range frame accessory with "no charge" and someone will install it. We agreed and it was installed and working properly. ****We DO NOT recommend buying any appliances or anything from the Kitchen Experts Appliance Store in Pleasanton, CA. Their are other appliance stores in the Bay Area that sell the same models for way lower prices than prices at Kitchen Experts Appliance Store*** 11. We ordered a barn door with Johnny the designer for Kitchen Experts and he ordered the wrong door two times which delayed getting the correct one 4 months later. Johnny comes dressed in a suit but behind the suit he wears is nothing but incompetence and no knowledge of design and blue prints. A total scammer. 12. Small Kitchen remolded project was completed in 4 months due to all issues and damages caused by Kitchen Experts. 13. "BEWARE OF KITCHEN EXPERTS", We give zero star. read more

We just finished remodeling our small half bath with Kitchen Experts. Christian was my foreman and again they did an excellent job. The electrical and plumbing was redone and a new cabinet installed along with sink and faucet in about a week. They were able to match the quartz countertop from our kitchen perfectly. Highly recommend the team at Kitchen Experts if you want the job done well and quickly. Bathroom is really beautiful and completely transformed the 1980's look. read more

We went through a major kitchen remodel using Kitchen Experts - floor to ceiling, new everything. I'll start by saying that the final product is very good and the project was completed before the deadline we set. We're overall happy with the kitchen and have encountered no major issues. That said, the overall customer experience with Kitchen Experts was really bad. The initial phase of the project - choosing materials and doing the design with Johnny was smooth and we had a good feeling going into construction that the process would go well. However, basically as soon as the construction phase of the project was approaching things started going wrong. Communication and planning by the project management team was terrible: - Virtually every time we sent an email with questions or comments needing response, we had to follow up multiple times just to get an answer, no matter how brief the question. - The project start was delayed 2 weeks because they waited until 2 weeks before the start date to submit the permit application even though we had 3 months from the end of design to the start of construction. - Due to inadequate communication internally they laid the flooring 90 degrees in the wrong direction and had to completely redo it. - On the day the ceiling painters showed up they had to leave because the prep work hadn't been finished but no one bothered to tell the painters. - Even though Johnny explicitly told us during design that the thermostat mounted on the wall we were knocking down would be relocated by them, no problem, the project manager made it into a huge issue and refused to do the work saying "they don't do HVAC", even though it's really just super basic electrical. It would have cost me $500 to have an electrician do the totally basic work of relocating the thermostat. I had to argue with them repeatedly for weeks and call the owner to finally get them to agree to do the work that probably took like 15 minutes. - The water pressure in the sink is crappy because the risers are original galvanized pipe that are corroded internally and they didn't bother to replace them. According to my good friend who is a very experienced home remodel contractor, It would be totally standard to replace the risers upon discovering they are galvanized, or at least inform the home owner so they could make a decision if it was out of scope. Kitchen Experts did neither so now I may have to pay someone $1000 to do the work after the fact when it would have been very simple for KE to do it while they had the wall open. - There were numerous other small examples of their poor internal communication and planning causing delays and frustration for us. When you go through a significant remodel, your friends will tell you that dealing with contractors is a terrible experience and you just have to suffer through it. Kitchen Experts is no exception to this. We thought that by going to a turnkey company the process would be really smooth, and it may have been more smooth than doing it piecemeal, but the experience was FAR below our expectations. For the amount of money we paid them, we deserved way better quality of service. With the amount of demand for contractors in the bay area right now, they probably have plenty of work and don't care about keeping people happy, but I would absolutely not recommend them to a friend who was redoing their kitchen. read more

We were first time kitchen remodelers,  and after searching through tons of reviews , we decided to take our chances with K.E. We made the right choice thankfully, no regrets and we could not be happier. Our entire experience was amazing with this company. We needed to knock down a wall, relocate a plumbing, quartz, change the countertops, cabinets, floors, get new appliances and light fixtures. The best part is they have a professional from each department complete each task.  With the help of our designer we redid our entire kitchen with our own vision. The two designers who showed up gave advice on the different products or designs that would help our vision and best of all everything was done within the time limits promised. Any construction mess created was cleaned promptly. As I sit here in my beautiful dream kitchen all I can say is, I love my kitchen! Of course the process is not easy but the end result made it worth all the money and hard work. My review only echoes the sentiments (woes) that others have written. *No customer service *Lack of communication - all calls go to voicemail *Lack of ownership - it's never their fault "the vendor sent the wrong one" "the vendor didn't ship your order" "we called the vendor but..." We hired this company from a personal reference and the installation went fairly well. However, the follow up on problems has been increasingly horrible and, now, a year or two later we are STILL trying to get resolution. Here is our common (usual) but not all-the-time experience. 1. We put in calls which go to their "general mailbox" and never get answered; 2. Calls get answered and but we're told they have to check (something or other) and they may/not get back to us) 3. They schedule an appointment and, when they don't arrive at the designated time we call only to find out they aren't coming for one reason or another I'm sure there are other things i could say but i'm too upset to add more right now. read more

My new kitchen completed in March, 2021. I could not be more pleased with the outcome or the Kitchen Experts process. I watched the TV show for a number of years and actually chose them primarily because of the one-stop shop concept, the beautiful kitchens , and customer testimonies. Kitchen Experts did not disappoint. The process worked exactly as presented on the show. First, Johnny, my designer, helped me realize what a new kitchen could look like because I was nervous about "dipping my toe in the water" with something radically different from what I had. He finally got me to a place where I could see that his suggestion would be beautiful. So on Day 1, my foreman, Francisco, "showed up, and showed out," with a work ethic like no other. I cannot say enough about his focus, skills, speed and punctuality. Anything I asked him to do, he did. Due to a car accident, he lost the help from his assistant and still completed my kitchen in about 3 weeks, by himself. Every Kitchen Expert employee that worked on my home kept to the timelines, showed exceptional skills and never pushed back on anything I questioned. Be assured, a remodel is uncomfortable to live through but Kitchen Experts does their best to minimize the chaos. As John J. Arbuckle said, "you get what you pay for." I made the mistake of giving them my information at an art and wine festival. Since then they have been calling me EVERYDAY. The first time they called I picked up. I told them we were not ready for a consultation yet. The woman understood. The next day she called again and acted like we had never spoken. I recapped the conversation from the day before and she understood. Unfortunately, they continued calling me. I usually ignore their calls hoping they would go away, but one day I picked up and agreed to a consultation. I told the woman I was on a tight schedule and she assured me their designer would be efficient and respect my time. The day of the consultation, my husband and I made sure we were home and we waited for him. Fifteen minutes after our scheduled appointment time, I gave him a call to see if he was lost. He picked up and said that he had been out of town, had a long drive back, and was feeling tired, so he won't be able to meet us. WHAT?! He waited until I called him fifteen minutes after our scheduled appointment to tell me this? I told him how unprofessional this was and please not to call me again. Sure enough, the salespeople started calling me again two weeks later EVERYDAY again. I picked up today and the salesperson again talked like this was an initial call. I explained to her my experience with them so far and asked her to please remove my name, as I had done in prior contact with them. She said, "okay, well, we're just calling to let you know who we are." But, the real question is whether they know who I AM, because they always act like they've never talked to me before every time I pick up. Even though I asked her to remove my name from their list. I will not be surprised when I see their number show up on my phone again tomorrow. And if I answer, I am sure they will talk to me as if this is our first contact. You definitely do not want people this disorganized and clueless ripping up your kitchen. read more

I am a current customer of Kitchen Experts, and I will tell you while some of the guys on the job site are good, the sales guys and their way of treating customers are worse than any retail chain or construction company I've encountered. The two sales guys/CAD designers were sleazy and slick. The people in the program office seem more competent, at least they are willing to listen and work it out with me. The quality of the work is spotty at best, some good, most need to be redone. I'll post more once (or if) my job gets finished. Stay away and look for someone else. read more

I had a pretty decent experience with kitchen experts. The quality of the materials is great, the cabinets were surprisingly high quality. Everyone I was dealing with was pleasant and seemed interested in solving any problems that arose. Communication was to be expected, they were fairly responsive to our emails and calls. There were a few discrepancies from what was promised by the sales guy and what was actually going to be handled. The sales guy did a good job of overselling what was included in the bid. We had the to fight for a few items to be included, but in the end the company did what was right and we are happy with our kitchen. In comparison to the horror stories I have heard from friends that used private, reputable contractors kitchen experts were very easy to deal with and completed all of the work with little hassle. I would use them again and would recommend them to friends. read more

First, I have to say that the work we had done was very good. Quality of the material was excellent and the two installers who were employees of Kitchen Experts were true craftsmen. Our appliances and floors were carefully protected and they went the extra mile to make sure the cabinet work was absolutely perfect. It actually looks great. This should be a 5 star review except for one thing. When one writes a 4 or 5 figure check as an upfront deposit, one expects communication. When weeks go by with no phone call, no response to email etc., people get anxious. It is human nature to be stressed after writing a large check to an unfamiliar company and I do believe management could save themselves a lot of grief just by returning calls and improving communication. We remodeled our kitchen and bathroom with Kitchen Experts 2 years ago. While I wrote up the review right away and left it saved on my computer, I decided not to post it until I was sure all our problems had been resolved. After reading these reviews, I only wish I had posted it sooner and saved someone a terrible experience. When they came for an estimate we heard "diamond certified" and "fully licensed and insured" and the best price (we had several estimates). Great! We'll take it. Not great. I wish we had never let them into my house. We were promised that the electrician and plumbers are fully licensed (required by our HOA). They were not. After some argument, they did agree to pay to have our HOA's recommended plumber come and do the water shut off (required by our hoa). We worked it out, but why lie about it? We were also promised that they NEVER use subcontractors. Another lie. If you never use subcontractors, then why do all their shirts say "Jose's Plumbing"? One worker was honest enough to tell me that 90% of the workers in my apartment were subcontractors. When I confronted the company, they said that they usually use subcontractors on small jobs like mine. They were sitting in my apartment signing the contracts when they promised not to use any subcontractors. According to their website they "take extra care in how clean we are". And they also promised to put plastic over everything and tarp around the kitchen. Really? Not only was there no tarp in the house ever, I personally bought plastic and covered everything when I came home to find them mid demolition without a single thing covered. And clean? I suppose they must have cleaned something when I found my dish towels had been taken out of the linen closet and covered in cement (they did pay $10 to replace 3...not what we paid but a token gesture). It is absolutely not ok for anyone to go into my closed closets and steal my towels. At least these subcontractors were fired on the spot. Luckily I came home during my lunch break everyday to keep an eye on things. The day after our beautiful new cabinets were installed, they were damaged. They did replace them, but only after I insisted. And when we found several missing elements (like the shelf in our shower, we paid for 2...why is there only 1? and the tilt tray in the kitchen that was also absent) they told us they could not fix the problems and it was their policy that they never take items off the bill. Finally when we told them that we will not pay for work that was not completed and informed them that they will not see the second half of the payment until we get a corrected bill or they do the job right, they managed to put both in by that evening. Also luckily, I happened to come home right as they finished our tiled window sill...why would they even think that I might mean slap some tiles on top if the old, mismatched wooden windowsill rather than remove the old one and build a nice new one? I also loved the two cement foot prints they put on the brand new tile floor. They tried to tell me that it was just part of the pattern in the stone, until I showed them that they were perfect imprints of work boot soles. They mostly got it off eventually, but the footprints still reappear when the floor needs to be mopped. Another fun bonus, the gallon or two of water that I cleaned out from under the brand new bathroom sink 1 month after it was installed. I would think they're plumbing should have lasted more than 1 month. (This is the work that their plumber did, not the HOA's plumber). The water was flowing straight out of the pipes and onto the floor. We had the HOA's plumber fix it (and 2 years later it's still good). We'd rather pay a new plumber than let them back in our house. And of course I LOVED when they told us that they do not paint. This should have been a huge clue for us not to use them. We were told that they never do paint. Who remodels an entire kitchen and bathroom without painting? But fine, we'll hire someone else (so glad we did, I can't even imagine the nightmare that would have been). IThen one of the workers asked why we weren't panting and we found out that they always paint. They just didn't want to paint our apartment. Great salesman. It's not like we weren't paying customers. It's not like we'd started having problems yet. Thanks for the great service. Everything looks pretty if you don't look too close. As long as you don't mind the tile that isn't quite straight or the caulking that is all peeling away from the shower or the little nicks and dings in the beautiful cabinet doors. The price is a little lower, but it was not worth the horrible experience. Does Diamond certified actually mean anything? We believed the fantasy of "diamond certified", no sub-contractors, licensed crew, insurance, cleanliness...too bad fantasy is all it was. I just received a bid for them to reface cabinets - Wait for it: $36,000 but with 30% discount for seeing their ad on TV only $25,300 LOL Really? You have a big kitchen mam. My kitchen is modest and with 29 drawers and doors - that's about $850 a piece. Joke of a bid. The highest of any I've had come out. Their bid for the countertops was also outrageous - $15,000 which I thought the last guy at $9,000 was a joke when the quartz I'm looking at only costs $1,000 per slab (at a granite/quartz/stone place in San Jose) read more

Beware of this companies upfront professionalism! It won't last! I met with Johnny, the designer, who was great before the project started, but after that he ghosted me. I had so many problems with the workmanship and tried to get Johnny to come see what he was selling, but he wouldn't even respond to me. I finally had to hire another contractor to correct the issues Kitchen Experts created in my home. I had a wall removed and the support beam KE installed wasn't installed correctly which caused my ceiling to sag! I also began to smell gas in my home after Kitchen Experts installed all my new appliances one of which was a gas stove. After calling PG&E, the technician discovered the stove wasn't installed correctly and I did in fact have a gas leak. I urge you to find a more professional company to work in your home so you don't have to fear your ceiling will cave in on you or your home could blow up! Don't settle for Kitchen Experts and don't believe their ridiculous commercials. read more

I would highly recommend using KE for your next re-model. I recently came in with my mother-in-law( our mothers day gift to her was to update her 1950's style kitchen). Now, I love my mother-in-law. But she is not an easy woman to shop with..... Kristin(? I'm pretty sure that's how you spell her name), she was awesome. How someone could be so patient and still keep on smiling is beyond me!! I am so glad that we finally found a company that will stick it out with you through construction. We have done many other projects in the past and found that when there are issues that pop up during the process, and the contractor always has a change of attitude and it starts to get ugly at that point. Through our project with Kitchen Experts we, of course, ran into some unforeseen issue with an older home, but with the help of the team that they set up, it is great to see that we have the support to make it through. They never once gave up or had an attitude change, always maintained an attitude of moving forward. I will not say the project went perfect but, I will say that when these items popped up, having the support from Sarah as well as Efrain and his team having the willingness to work with us to get through was a very comforting feeling. To finish up this review I will say that the project finished close enough to the estimated time frame that we were happy considering the additional items that came up. The finished product that we now enjoy every day is a beautiful and amazing kitchen. If we had to do it all over again I would choose Kitchen Experts to go through it with. I would encourage anyone that wants to have the best kitchen to get some ideas with them and go forward knowing that they are not perfect but they will always make it right and they will help you through all of the challenges you may run into with the city. They have a very experienced and very knowledgeable team of people that make the process a lot more palatable. I will try to return and post some new pictures of our beautiful kitchen once we have moved back in fully. I hope that people reading this find it helpful in their decision making to know that construction is not fun but is better when you have the right support to get through it. The initial consultant was fired as I was finalizing my project but it all worked out in the end. The one star is related to their follow-up customer service when you request a warranty repair. They were quick to send someone out to evaluate the issue and even scheduled the appointment to fix the repair (after I kept calling) but the day of the repair they called to cancel saying materials weren't in yet. It is now 3 months later and several emails/calls later and they've yet to reschedule the repair. If I knew what I know now about their long-term customer care I would not have gone with this company. I'll update this review if and when the repair is completed. Updated December 18, 2017...they came by today to make the fixes. Still unclear why my October appointment was cancelled on the day of since it appears there were "no materials" that needed to be ordered. They just ad to get the right color mixture for the touchups. Took a few hours for them to match the color today but in the end, Neri and his team did a good job. Still a 1 rating for customer service but the overall score increased to a 3 thanks to Neri and his team. read more

Once again Kitchen Experts does not dissapoint in DISSAPOINTING us! They seriously lack in customer service. They made decisions during our installation/remodel without consulting us that have now caused long term defects and problems. Buyers Beware! They did not install a subfloor in our kitchen so now our tiles are shifting and moving and look TERRIBLE and will need to be completely replaced. They suggested a roof-mounted blower for our range because it was high powered, now the blower has to be replaced and almost NO companies will service roof-mounted blowers. So I contacted Kitchen Experts...and naturally they were of NO help! STAY AWAY and use a company with real customer service and without all the arrogance these guys have. Big mistake on our part to ever use them. read more

My neighbor made me do it, they started their kitchen remodel in May of 2017 and in Oct they still were not finished they used a Kitchen Contractor that they checked out to be one of the best. NOT!! They were telling me their horror story one day and that did it. I did not pass go, I went directly to Kitchen Experts. We had no idea where to begin and Johnny spent 2+ hours the first day out and all just came together, The show room staff was great and very helpful. Aveene was with us through the whole project, always followed up on the progress and was there anytime we had questions. Then Johnny came back and did the 3D rendering of what our kitchen would look liked. Kitchen experts is as good as it gets for Kitchen remodeling. They completely remodeled our kitchen, which included mapping out the new kitchen, removing a wall, new cabinets, new appliances, new floor, painting, crown molding and upgrading the gas line. Johnny who is both a designer and executive sales rep was our initial contact and someone I will recommend to anyone to first engage with Kitchen experts. He mapped out the plan at no cost to us, discussed our options and provided no pressure in moving forward. (Later on we learned Johnny is a Christian who is involved in volunteer activities that helps the community). Throughout the process Johnny checked in to make sure we were completely happy. Once we signed the contract, Kitchen Experts took care of everything and didn't "nickle and dime" us along the way. Instead, the bid they provided is the bid we paid in the end. Additionally, when it came time to put in the granite counter tops, they upgraded the edge to an Ogee design at no cost to us as Johnny knew that would look nice. Also, when we upgraded our stove and needed a larger gas line, they put it in with no extra charge. The end result is beautiful, plus I have a completely happy wife with no stress on our relationship during the process :) A husband who has seen our kitchen refuses to let his wife come to our house knowing she will want to upgrade her kitchen. I'm sure anyone in our subdivision with the original floor plan will follow suit. Originally referred, the team was extremely knowledgeable and helpful when planning my latest house project--specifically--the kitchen. They not only helped with the increased energy efficiency with the recommended appliances but I have since had them install cabinets, rehab my sink, as well as put in some floor tile. I'm always happy with the quality and timeliness of their work as well as their communication skills and professionalism. Kitchen Experts recently changed our kitchen with a floor area of 750 SQ FT for our single family residence. They provided design, demolition, electrical wiring, plumbing, install of new cabinets, counter tops, sink and faucets, back splash, new appliances, new flooring, painting and obtain of City permit. They have a very organized system and provided the full service with good quality materials. Johnny Gonzalves their kitchen designer and marketing manager, was very professional, knowledgeable and efficient in helping and working with us in selection of kitchen components and it's design. Their appliance sales team, Ellite Appliance was very professional in providing and delivery of appliances in a timely manner considering the Covid situation. The designated crew including the foreman, and the installers of the counter top and flooring as well as the project manager Anthony and the operation manager, Sarai were all vey well organized and professional. Like the nature of any project, the very minimum unexpected bumps in the road were handled and resolved quickly and smoothly by the team. The duration of our project was shorter than of written in the contract with no compromise in the detail and final product finish. I've never taken the time to write a review before. But these guys deserve the Truth be told about them. Completely unimpressed. I've been a heavy civil contractor,and worked for another. Ive been in this industry for 38 years. I've paid a contractor to build a 6,000 sf home. I've had a little experience dealing with schedules, problems, and keeping happy clients. Kitchen Experts is anything but Experts. I get the feeling that they are not coming back after getting close to 90% of the money and only 65% complete. They are so smooth working at getting the payment points, then.........Hello, anybody there...! all voice mails boxes are full. No response to Emails. No schedules, incomplete work. A mess everywhere EVERYWHERE. My backyard, side yard, attic, basement, the whole back inside of the house. John Lupo (the owner) contacted me wanting extra money for work he is contracted to do. As I said, I understand construction law. John does not have legal ground for the request. But because I'm not agreeing, the project slows way down. The change order request is for Tile in a sunroom and Laundry room. A room adjacent to the Kitchen. Kitchen Experts estimator Johnny G, quoted the demo and install. Almost 6 weeks after we sign the contract, Jose, the Tile installer says its going to cost more to install than was quoted. My choices, According to John Lupo, is to take a $ 3,000 credit or give him $4,235 more to install the Tile correct. Now they also tell me they miss calculated the SF of work. I never calculated the SF either. The contract says Tile in both rooms. Kitchen Experts wrote the contract ! so the credit I would get back will not be what it should be. Can I get the owner to kick the project into 2nd gear ? NO This Company Smells from the Top down. I've read all of the 5 star reviews. How can they go from 5 star great to what I see with my own eyes. They cannot. My Wife and I have lived without a Kitchen for over a month. What ever your quote is, plan on about 20K per month. 60K = 3 months. Unacceptable. I just want my kitchen finished. PLEASE!!! MY wife is more upset than I am, This makes my life miserable. I had to drive to their office to get to talk to somebody. The people with positive reviews...speak of certain people to work with. They do not exist. I charged thru there office looking to get answers, Ive only met the people mentioned in the negative reviews. PS. There add speaks of structural work. They don't do any structural work. I had to hire that out, which caused me to do most of there Demolishing work. No credit was given to me for demo work. This would only be $ 1,500 or so. I was so pleased with the results of working with Kitchen Experts of California, Inc.'s crew. I appreciated that they were able to get me on their schedule and complete the task in record time. The entire task was very well executed and I was very happy with the results. They quoted me such a fair price and they were very reliable. Their team of workers were so polite (Christian, Metto, Lalo, etc.), friendly, neat and on time. They all took their work seriously and it showed. Kitchen Experts did a great job. I also appreciate the last minute tweaks they kindly agreed to do when they arrived at my home. It was a great experience from inception to the very end. I am looking forward to working with Kitchen Experts again in the near future. I am so glad that I read these review before I made the call-- it lessen the blow. I made an appointment got all the fluff feedback from the "sales guy" and when I tried to get some follow up ..... you guessed it, voice mail, voicemail, voicemail. I read 1 review on here that stated that they have no respect for time --- yours! Boy is that right when they did call me back "the project manger" it was too late I had canceled everything. They have sent guys out on three occasions but they never have the materials they need to do the work. They generally show up late or no-show. Now I cannot get anyone to return my calls. PLEASE READ ALL REVIEWS CAREFULLY. I should have paid attention to my gut feeling when, on day one, the "foreman" did not show up and no one notified me prior to 2 men showing up at my door giving their names and saying they were here to start demolition. I refused to let them in until I spoke to the foreman. I think I didn't back out at that point because I had moved everything out of my kitchen...and starting the entire process again, of looking for a contractor was horrifying to me. I REGRET I DIDN'T CANCEL THE ENTIRE PROJECT! Things only got worse, starting with the demolition debris left in my front yard for days before, after numerous phone calls, someone picked it up. The man who was supposed to texture and paint the ceiling (a professional???) didn't do it correctly and I have shocking pictures of the texture and paint falling off the ceiling. This happened 2 or 3 times before they finally prepped the ceiling....then it worked. I had to ask them to leave my home that night, at 7:30, because I couldn't handle their attitude and they didn't seem to care that my husband had worked all day and didn't want to have them in our home any longer. This same texture guy forgot to plug back in my chest freezer after he used the outlet, and I did not find this until the next day. There were some things ruined. I hired my own tile guy to fix the floor, my own window covering guy to reinstall my window coverings and then I even had to hire another tile guy to redo the tile they installed under my window sill. They reimbursed me for these expenses, but the point was they CLAIM to be one stop shopping, with their own employees. I complained enough that they conceded and I hired professionals to do certain parts of the work because of my concern it would be done incorrectly. And as stated in at least 1 other review, all these people are NOT their employees. They have their own businesses and are subcontractors. The texture person actually tried to solicit my business aside from the kitchen. My husband actually painted window sills and a door way & I had to go purchase more molding because their employee screwed it up! IS THIS WHAT I PAID FOR? ABSOLUTELY NOT!!!!! I also had cabinets that were damaged & and/or warped, which had to be replaced, some more than one time. Oh, and the knobs I picked out in Pleasanton, never showed up. I then had to go to Home Depot myself and pick out ones I liked! Communication with the office is HORRIBLE. Or maybe it was just horrible because I figured if I was paying over $30K for a new kitchen, I expected quality work....and they didn't want to hear what I had to say. My kitchen was done last summer and I still don't enjoy this expensive kitchen the way I would expect to. The sour taste in my mouth is due to this entirely bad experience. I even had to threaten to withhold the last payment until I spoke to the owner, John. And when I spoke to John he stated that he'd wished I'd spoken to him sooner....and, basically, they gave me a really good price, and there wasn't any way to compensate me. I told John when I met him in Pleasanton, that if they did a good job for me, everyone would know it, and if they did a bad job, everyone would know. So, everyone I know or hear about ready to do a kitchen job, I tell them my experience, and strongly suggest they not employ Kitchen Experts. read more

Saw these guys on the Malou Review show on Channel 2. From their advertisements, Kitchen Experts appears to do great work. My husband and I were shopping for contractors as we were gearing up for a complete gut/remodel, and had Kitchen Experts come in to give us a bid. On their advertisement, Kitchen Experts advertises that they offer "Expert Design With Your Budget In Mind." Also that you will get 30% off if you mention you saw their advertisement on the Malou Review show. My husband made the call and we set up an appointment. Two Kitchen Experts salesmen came by with their tape measures, cabinet door samples, granite slab samples, and ipad complete with photos of previous jobs. After they helped us "design" our kitchen, the salesman wrote up our estimate. Well, the estimate was more than what we wanted to pay. In fact it was also higher than every other bid we received. When we told this to the Kitchen Experts salesman, he said, "well, maybe we're not the company for you." My husband and I agreed with him. Once the salesman saw we were serious that the bid was out of our budget, he began to find ways to bring the price down. He asked what the price point for our budget was and we told him. He asked what the other bids came in at and we told him. My husband and I never tried to play hard ball with these guys. This is our first house and first such project and we had a budget and were simply not willing nor could we afford to go over it. Through several crunching of numbers and adding "discounts" the Kitchen Experts salesman was able to bring the bid down to a price that my husband and I were willing to pay. So after a verbal agreement on the price, the salesman wrote up the formal contract which my husband and I signed as well as put down a $1K deposit. We also set up our preliminary date for the construction to begin and scheduled a date for their designer to come by and do the 3D design of our new kitchen. The deposit was cashed, and the kitchen modeler came by to design our kitchen. Everything was going smoothly. Then......I get a call one week after the design is done of the kitchen from the CEO of the company, John Lupo, saying that "he is very sorry," but he reviewed our file and his salesman gave us a bid that was too low. He would only "break-even" at the price that my husband and I signed the contract under. John offered to do the kitchen only if we paid $6K more. Needless to say, my husband and I were shocked. Why did John not "review our file" BEFORE 1.) depositing our check & 2.) sending his designer out to our home. My husband and I basically got to pick out our whole kitchen and get a real feel and visual idea of what our kitchen was going to look like. We were so excited and then....then John wants to raise the price. So our option is to go with the new price of the kitchen we want so much, or Kitchen Experts will break the contract and take it all away. Well, the $6K hike was out of our budget, so we had to tell John no. We asked John when we can expect our $1K deposit back and he responded "Immediately. " My husband and I feel completely scammed by Kitchen Experts. They showed us this beautiful kitchen we could have at a price that we could afford and then tried to jack up the price. Moreover, they wasted an incredible amount of our time as the bid process and modeling both took several hours. My husband and I are still calling Kitchen Experts daily trying to find out when we will receive our $1K deposit back as they still have not returned it to us. The front desk always promises that someone will return our call, but no one has. We also filed a complaint with the BBB. We think they maybe withholding the check because Kitchen Experts knows the complaint came from us.....which is completely unlawful. My husband and I plan to file as many complaints as we can. This whole ordeal has been so terrible, disappointing and aggravating. I would not recommend working with Kitchen Experts. What they really offer is "Expert Design With THEIR BUDGET IN MIND." I also find it extremely suspicious that my review is the very first on Yelp. read more

We had them come out and give an estimate for a kitchen re-model but did not actually do the work. On the pro side, they are a one stop shop they will get the job done quickly but their showroom is in the east bay so you'll have to drive over there to choose granite or look at other options in person (bah humbug) . Also, it seems like everything we wanted was an upgrade or wasn't available in the right finish. Also you have to put down a substantial deposit before they'll do your computer mock up (most places do this off the bat in case you need to see it on the screen to visualize). The base bid was already significantly higher than the other bids so we chose another vendor. And there is some pressure on the sales side (they say stuff like "this sale is only going to last a few days until we run out"). I can deal with people but the pressure is there so if you are the "don't like people" sort of person and hate that kind of pressure, you may be put off BUT if you just want something put together that you can just point to and say "I like that one" or "what's the most popular", then this may just be the place for you. I loved the color schemes of the samples they brought but our choice was basically white, oak or cherry cabinet and only one style that wasn't an upgrade. read more

I saw there TV commercial last week for a free kitchen design and consultation, I am remodeling my entire house and need a complete new kitchen, so I called and I set up an appointment for them to come at 5pm today Thursday, a lady called and confirmed the appt yesterday, today at 4:30 they called again and said they will be late 15 minutes, I waited for an hour until 6pm, no one showed up, I called and left a voice mail but no one returned my call, for that reason I gave them one star, website and tv commercial seems that they are professional but I was proved wrong. read more
