Back to eating healthy! I was thrilled to find a place that not only has vegan options but is 100% gluten free! This made me do a double take at the pastry counter & I decided to try the almond Bundt cake w/ pumpkin spice. My husband refused to believe this was gluten free it was so good. We also got the umami burger w/o goat cheese & the garden tahini bowl & added coconut flat bread. Our favorite was the umami burger. We wish there was more dressing on the salad for dipping the flat bread in. This inside is well arranged & clean. There is outdoor seating in the front & back that is dog friendly & there's umbrellas for shade. If we lived closer this would be a regular breakfast/lunch spot for me. read more

A MUST! I have gluten, dairy and nut allergy. I asked which pastries were safe, the server pulled out the allergy binder and went through it with me. So then I bought 5 goodies, pumpkin bread, apple muffin, whoopie pies, sourdough bread, & brownie. All gluten free, dairy free/vegan, nut free. We absolutely love this place. The quality of the food is high. Get the tempeh Ruben. So good!! Their coffee is delicious. The breve is my favorite. My husband loves their gluten-free baked goods. Cookies, mini Bundt cakes, and breakfast loaves are such a treat. Be ready to parallel park or park in a nearby lot. Just so that you're prepared, order first at counter, take a number, find an open table, and the server brings food. So you might want to look at menu first before arriving to have in mind what you will order. There is indoor and outdoor seating. I was so excited to stop by Kitchen & Coffee for lunch after walking by the place many times. As a fellow vegetarian, their menu had a lot of items to choose from and I ended up going with the Reuben. It was fantastic. Tangy, cheesy, and the bread was so fresh. I highly recommend! Perfection! And for those of us sensitive to dairy and gluten it's such a dream come true. Everything that we tried so far, we really enjoyed and while it is a bit pricy ( we ended up spending just under $100 for a large drink, two meals, some baked goods and a bag of No 6 Depot Coffee plus tip) it's worth it for the occasional splurge.. We originally came just for the coffee beans but ended up being so happily surprised by basically everything.. frkm vibes, decor, cleanliness, staff, seating, friendliness and of course the expertly created food and drinks! This is a well trained and highly professional and experienced staff that seems to really be happy to work here and with each other, as well as work in general which was really refreshing to see. They had it all down. Friendly smile, prompt service, asked if things were to go or for here, happy and maybe even proud to let us know it was ALL GLUTEN FREE!!! Which blew my mind I was so happy - and used to place ejust having a few things available.. Even better, everything tasted amazing and the pertiidn were perfectly sized. And they knew how to work with plant milks ! We shared a large latte ( tasted perfect!), and a tempeh Reuben and sweet potatoe quiche. The quiche crust and sandwich bread pleasantly surprised us and the salad was fresh, plentiful and had just the right amount of dressing and tang. Which is also not a given anywhere .. and a personal pet peeve of mine when you can't taste anything but dressing and/or vinegar. We also tried the blueberry Bundt cake ( yum!), thr vegan blueberry cheesecake and a scone. All were really great and not too sweet. There was a happy, fun and clean vibe, the entire staff had great energy and enthusiasm and the bathroom, even during a very busy time, was spotless, as was their open kitchen. Basically everything you could ask for and my co taster is neither gluten free, dairy free, sugar adverse or vegetarian and loved it all and was equally impressed too! Stopped in for a healthier lunch option on a day date in Beacon. Sat outside in the back patio area (few tables indoors and outdoors). Counter service but the food and drinks both came out speedy. I had the lavender matcha latte which was delicious! The brassica sandwhich wasn't for me- though I loved the bite of the broccoli rabe, the rest of the sandwhich was really bland. The foccacia was dense and crumbly but not my cuppa. My partner had the sweet potato burger which he really liked! The side salad served with both was fresh and deliciously dressed. Lots of appealing baked goods in the front case, too! Definitely pricey (lunch for 2 cost $45) but quality ingredients and on the healthier side of things if that's what you're out for. read more

They definitely have the best coffee in Beacon. I think it's because they offer Ready Coffee and not just Trax. Food is pretty good. I went today to the new/old location at 420 Main St., and I'll never go back. I loved the place they just moved from down the road: It was full of light, it had lovely spaces front and back to sit outside, it was just right. I suppose it was too small to bring in enough revenue. Maybe that's the reason they are now in a long, narrow room with artificial light, crammed full of tables and benches against the wall with nowhere out front to sit. There is a deck out back, but it doesn't have any charm. I will miss the other space. read more

My fiancé surprised me with some goodies, the morning of my birthday from this spot. Another gluten free cafe used to be here and I had no idea it had been replaced by this cafe. Nonetheless, I was super excited to try everything. Everything was delicious! The scones paired perfectly with a nice cup of tea and the blueberry muffin was extremely satisfying. I wasn't sure what to expect with the matcha cookie but yum! So good! I don't need to say much about the peanut butter cookie except don't forget to get one! I really like the food here, and the atmosphere is great. That said, I can no longer abide there ever-increasing cost of "alternative milk." For a place that seems to pride itself on gluten free and vegan options, charging $1.50 for oat milk on a $3.50 flat white is bonkers. I've always thought it ridiculous that places charge $0.50 or $1 for something that really is no extra work, and these days it's not more expensive than milk. But, I think Starbucks has shown stores they can charge dumb amounts. $1.50 though?!? No thanks. Given the proliferation of coffee stores in Beacon (many do not charge extra for oat), I've moved on from K&C despite the nice food offerings. read more

This place specializes in gluten-free cuisine. I tried the green goddess bowl. A great choice for that time between summer and fall with the fresh greens and peas being reminiscent of summer and the toasted pepitas welcoming the harvest season. This a cute coffee shop with lots of outdoor seating! There is also indoor seating, but with such cute patio spots infront and in the back of the building, I decide to sit out back. I got an iced salted caramel latte and it was great, typically I need an extra shot at most coffee shops, but this one was made perfect and didn't need the extra shot. For food, I got the Kale Cesar salad which was delicious and filling! The dressing was on the thicker side because it is a cashew Cesar dressing. There are chickpeas in the salad and those were cooked well and give the salad a nice crunch! The prices for food were a little pricey, but that is expected being in New York. The staff makes sure the place is well kept. I saw several staff members wiping tables, taking out the trash, and cleaning dishes. read more

The food is tasty and there's a wide selection to choose from. Their gluten free baguettes are high quality. The atmosphere is nice, but it's almost impossible to actually sit and have your meal. Don't expect to be able to get a table. The "work from home" contingent monopolizes the tables. There are people who literally bring their computer monitors and headsets and take Zoom calls for hours. This happens on weekends as well. While it's not the cafe's fault that this is occurring, the ownership/management takes no steps to limit this. Cafes elsewhere have a specific location designated for people working on laptops. (One of my favorite cafes in Williamsburg has chosen to offer no internet). It's a shame that if you want to go and have a meal with your family that you're unable to get a seat to do so. read more

They close at 7 so it's up to you if you want to eat that early. All the food is gluten free and vegetarian. No meat is on premises.
