Should I drive my SUV with the back seats folded down? All the posts on my FYP seemed to suggest that I would hit the Halloween decor jackpot. I encountered several hiccups on the way due to my GPS misdirecting me -- one trip to the Old Orchard Country Club. I was so disappointed. Basically not a HomeGoods at all. Not the vibe I was looking for at all. This is a giant warehouse (somewhat) filled with indoor, outdoor, housewares, tchotchkes, etc. If you need an outdoor pot, a plant stand, a side table, towels, glassware, etc., they have it all, and so many kinds it'll make your head spin. There were lots of items on clearance. At Home is filing for bankruptcy and will close stores. Perhaps that is why the store had several areas that were bare. I don't know if this is one of the locations that will close, but they shoulda had their Halloween stuff out. I will drive anywhere, spend anything, if it means cool Halloween stuff.

The rugs were marked with location and easy to find. Service was ok, there is no one to help in the store, if you have a question and the cashier was not overly friendly. In addition, in 2026 Floor and Decor is working with a new contractor, Installations made easy, Inc. This contractor is part of the problem. The prior contractors from 2025 and prior years were excellent and Floor and Decor changed to this nightmare. WHY? Avoid this nightmare company. They claim they have 50,000-60,000 employees not independent contractors. They have 1000's of supervisors but cannot connect to one. I believe this company is an absentee owner with his airhead daughter working the phones. They know nothing, they can not find anything, and why Floor and Decor does not vet them is unknown. They are a waste of time. Hours spent just having them look up a work order that the girl has no training and does not know what they do. The claim all their installers for plumbing, tile, flooring, counters, etc are their own employees and not independent contractors. I believe they are 100% fly by night, take advantage of the consumer. Avoid them. It also appears they have multiple addresses and phone numbers, the sign of a 100% scam company.

This weekend I was in the area hitting up it's neighbor stores, the thrift shop, the liquor store and the Argentinean grill, and felt like I was being a real jerk singling out one of the four businesses on this strip to not patronize, so I decided to take a peak in... well, I guess that's only half of it. What really drew me in was that they had a bit of a weekend sidewalk sale going on and you know how hard it is to pass up a bargain. The items on their sidewalk sale table were classic, yet whimsical and awfully unique. We followed the steps of the manor upward and onward to find a really fine collection of surprisingly reasonable-priced items for home decor. The selection wasn't all that varied - it definitely appealed to a certain kind of taste, but not in a bad way. I was drawn to their ample selection of decorative animal items - a particularly fine selection of owl and bunny merch... but not the super girly type stuff that a guy might be embarrassed of, just a lot of nice, neutral animal gems. While mostly full of decorative items, they also carry a small selection of moderate-level jewelry and candles. It's a small shop but they have enough nooks that it actually holds quite a bit. Beyond the very affordable items inside (or at least the ones I'd flipped over seemed below what I was expecting as far as retail price), they really knew how to put on a sale. They had these really cool pineapple garden stand pillars that were originally $49 each, marked down on clearance to $4 and beyond some very minor scratches that you'd expect, they were in perfect condition. There's something fabulous about going through these bins of random products not knowing what you will find. The experience was super fun. The people who go there can be real a$$ holes so I do not think that's a reflection of the business, but just lousy people can be. You hear the big winners who win things like an iPad or a PlayStation or something but if you set your expectations to be reasonable for a $20-30 item that's $6-8 then I feel like I won ( over 50%off!) What did I get? Korak Legos ( over $20), a visual timer( over 50), and a picture box (about $30) for signs that change color which sadly did not have all the letters so will require a little extra work to print up new letters in Order to use the product Because today was eight dollar day, I went big and bought a mystery box. The unboxing was so much fun. Just the horror on my husband's face while I unpacked was worth every penny. But I did find some great deals like insect killer refill that works for the exact product, we have at home. We got swimsuits and 12 really nice iPhone cases that are exactly the same, hiking shoes that fit, my friend, dog food, snacks, Mom blankets. I think a total of three, and a Mom plaque that says I love you. I felt that the store loved me more than the love my family shows me because I've never had so many products in one place in my life. I would warn if you visit that you may get hit by shopping carts by distracted people. There is a rule that you can't open the boxes yourself, so grab your boxes quickly and then wait in the line for the opener. The owner was really nice, when we told him it was my husband's birthday he gave us a free $8 item. I got some great deals on some home organization pieces that would normally sell for $35. Overall lots of fun!
