A huge store filled with craft and hobby supplies, floral items, frames, art supplies and tons of home items. The store is clean and very well organized. On a hot summer June day, they were already stocked with Halloween and Christmas items. Their prices are good, and often offer sales and discounts. I was looking for fabric and their selection was good, but I was hoping they would have more of a variety. I browsed many of the aisles and they have something for every occasion. Three people were unsure of whether an item I was looking for was carried at the store. I went in looking for materials for a Christmas Village. These items are carried at the Lombard Hobby Lobby, which is a beautiful, helpful location. Schaumburg was disappointing. I finally purchased two small Christmas trees to include in the village, only to get home and discover I was overcharged. It was supposed to be 50% off but the cashier typed in the item as a "gift." $8.00 over charged. Poor service, messy store, and incorrect pricing. I'm returning the entire purchase and supporting another store instead. read more

We were headed here to pick up more of something that I had purchased at another location. I was able to find what I needed quickly and check out was a breeze. The hardest part was finding your way into the parking lot. We came from behind the store and didn't feel the need to get on 58/Golf Road. I find the layout at this huge store a little confusing and it was hard to find someone to point me in direction of what I was searching for. But once I did find the right aisle, I was pleased with the variety and fair prices. I came here looking for new markers and coloring pencils and also left with a couple of puzzles. There was only one register open and someone else standing at another one but she directed me back to the only open line. So my experience was similar to others, in that the check out procedure was slow and a little confusing too. Why is there someone at another register refusing to take customers? I've worked at a retail store before and we've always tried to think in terms of how to best help customers. Not a completely bad experience, overall though. read more

my favorite craft store. Has EVERYTHING, a huge isle of stickers! Always has sales and everything is cheap but not made cheap. Closed on Sundays which sucks. They sell real crystals and crystal beads (some are fake or dyed, do your research), And if you're into witchcraft or spiritual, you aren't left out! They sell candles, herbs, crystals, and tons of bottles/storage. If you wanna start a new hobby, go here, you'll find everything to start one. Staff is friendly, never had issues at all. Although I'm atheist, this store never bothered me with the entire wall of crosses, and Jesus loves you signs, if you're a Christian, this is a good place to get stuff for your religion. read more

Second trip to this location to frame 3 items. Last weekend no framers on duty. And, this weekend no framers in duty. No apology from staff for my inconvenience. No acknowledgement that it's a pain to drag all this stuff to Hobby Lobby and get it to the back of the store. Just a "Oh, ya, we only have two framers, you should call before you come." Are you kidding me? It's my job to check your staffing situation before I leave the house? This is the place where wedding dreams are made! They have plenty of options for: card boxes, Mr & Mrs signs, guestbooks, chalkboards, mini tissue boxes (we all have that one crier in the family... spoiler: it's me in my family. Lol), and more. Pro-tip: 40% coupons are always available on retail me not, and Hobby Lobby uses it on the most expensive item :) We spent 2+ hours in the store, and probably could have spent even more. It was super organized, there was a ton on sale (I literally got my dream Mr & Mrs signs for $6 when the original price was $36) and they have tons of options and colors. I never felt like I had to "settle." When I walked in I didn't expect to get so much accomplished off my to do list, but thank you to my momma for pushing me to stop. Best store ever. read more

The store manager Nancy was extremely rude and discriminatory. I was trying to make a return and had the receipt. She took one look at me and immediately said "you walked out of the store without paying for these" when I had the correct receipt for the items. I went here after 9:00 when they opened on Saturday. Polite staff and very helpful, especially Jesus. I needed help with my pictures and picking out frames. He knows alot about this and I don't, but we figured it out together, no rushing and my project will be done soon to be picked up. Ugh, I could stand and stare in Hobby Lobby all day. I love their knick knacks, the mass-produced art, the supplies, the frames, EVERYTHING. This particular visit I had mission though: to fix the glass on my favorite picture that's been sitting on the floor against the wall in my apartment for two years. Yep...two years. It costs only $36 to replace broken picture frame glass on an 18x24 frame. It was the "UV" glass and not the awesome "Museum" glass (that would've set me back like $80!!). Overall, I'm happy with this Hobby Lobby and if I ever need anything fixed or I need to just stand and stare at all the fun stuff they have, I'll be back. read more

I love Hobby Lobby in general. However, the lack of knowledge and enthusiasm within the employees kills my love for shopping here. This is the 5th trip I've made in the last 3 months, where I've gone in with certain questions, and either they instantly answer with a "I have no idea" and walk away, or they point me to a pretty broad location of the store. I understand not knowing something, but why not take the extra effort and find someone who might. Or taking the time to walk me over to the product. The only reason I'm giving this store 2/5 stars are because of the great prices, clean store and easy location. Other then that, I'd rather shop at Michael's where at least the staff shows some sort of passion or understanding of their job. read more

If I had to sum up my thoughts on this store using just one word, it would be SUPERB. Superb in every possible way. The location is convenient and easy to find, there is ample parking, friendly service, tons of sales on a routine basis, every kind of crafting item imaginable and amazing decor items. It is all just superb. I have gone here twice now within the last week in order to find some decor items for our home and both times, have spent nearly an hour and a half just walking around, imagining the possibilities. The decor items (decorative mirrors, wall hangings, candles, furniture, frames, baskets, etc.) fill many of the aisles and seem to go on a scheduled rotation for 30-50% off! If you are looking for something and it isn't on sale at the time you go, try again the following week and you may just be shocked! The prices are definitely reasonable as well, compared to many other crafting/decor stores throughout the area. Additionally, Hobby Lobby has more crafting items than many craft stores which makes it a one-stop shop for anyone attempting to update their home or add some fun into their crafting lives. The staff members are all very kind and helpful as well. They seem willing and dare I say happy to help out whenever there is a question or concern, and they are all very knowledgeable about the departments they work in. I cannot wait for my next trip there, as I have become somewhat obsessed with their products! read more

they will not honor a price adjustment unless i bring back the pillows. i purchchased 200.00 in pillow for a wedding gift one day before they went on sale. the next day i went into the clovis calif store to get a price adjustment and they said i had to get the pillows from the wedding party and bring them back . i had the receipt with me and i advised them i cannot do that. this is so wrong . they know i purchased these pillows are full price and will not do a 50% price adjustment. read more

I have done a fair amount of framing in the last year, and this place is great. The German woman at the frame counter does great work. The mattes are cut to perfection, and the frames are reasonably priced. I think the frames actually go on sale for 50% off about once every couple months (which is definitely worth the wait price-wise). This place is a ton cheaper than Michaels for framing. This store recently allowed me to exchange a frame in which I had broken the glass - That is good customer service considering the amount of business I give them. All around the employees seem to have a good concept of where everything is in this completely packed craft supply store, and they are always helpful. Keep up the great work y'all. read more

Clean store, AMAZING selection of stuff, especially miniature/modeling supplies. Whenever I start a new craft I know I can come here are find pretty much everything I need. Three stars because 1: Prices are artificially inflated so they can always offer their 40%off coupon and haves sales every day. Only buy stuff that's on sale or you're throwing money away. 2: Most of their products are cheap, poorly made, and often damaged. Encountered a couple very unpleasant employees at this location recently. One of the custom framers made me feel like I was inconveniencing her by asking for a quote. She showed zero interest in what I was trying to custom frame. Most framers will try to sell you or get you excited on what you're about to custom frame, but she could not care at all. Then another employee was being impatient and couldn't go around us as we're shopping so he asked us to get out of the way. Won't be back at this location. This Hobby Lobby is HUGEEEEEEEEEEEE. They have all sorts of goodies - home decor, fabric, craft supplies, yarn, holiday decor, you name it! The prices are pretty reasonable, they always have items on sale, and of course the 40% off coupon (I always use the mobile one on my phone). I do prefer to come here over Michael's (especially since they are a bit cheaper and a little friendlier). However, they both have slightly different products, so sometimes I am forced to go to Michael's. For how big the store is, there never seems to be that many people working here, so they can be hard to find. The only drawback is sometimes the lines get really long...and their cash register seems like it is from the stone age. But they have made some upgrades recently. read more

If I could give them no stars I would. My mother told me about a bad experience she had there but I needed to get some materials for my son's first communion banner. What a mistake! The cashier/manager tried to over charge me 3.50 more than the item. When I came back to the register with the price she told me to get back at the end of the line because I had to wait again. She was so rude to me and made it look like I was cutting in front of people. I was so humiliated. She should have found the correct price to begin with. I am sitting in the parking out of Hobby Lobby writing this review. So, it should be very apparent that my experience here so not what I expected. I was waiting to get checked out. They were busy, had called for another cashier and at this point my review would have been a 5. The customers were all being taken care of and I happened to be behind a woman who was returning items(still at 5). The cashier on 1 was quick but had put her closed sign up. Then a woman came to her counter and her took care of her. So I meandered over to her register and low and behold suddenly she wasn't taking anyone else. Really, you took one customer after your sign went up...was another too many? I went back to my original line and waiting a few more minutes and then was taken care of. The woman who rang me up was really pleasant. I also had help when I was looking for something in an aisle and the associate took me right to where I needed to be. It's a shame that one nasty move ruins an otherwise great review. read more

This store just opened last year & I hope it never changes. I shopped at the Hobby Lobby for years on Schaumburg Road & hated it because of the selection & the staff wasn't all that helpful. However, the Golf Road store has a much larger selection, their staff is friendly, courtious, and helpful - even when I had to make a return. Nice store, but the checkout clerk was borderline rude and left a bad impression. No greeting or small talk of any kind, except to ask another clerk if an item featured clearly and prominently in this week's circular was really on sale. She tossed all the scrapbook paper I purchased into one bag and heaved it to the side, ripping one side of the bag open, so I had to cradle it all the way to my car in an absolute downpour. Wow! I have been to many Hobby Lobby locations and this one exceeded my expectations. I was in the framing area looking for hardware for my open frame I had picked out. Jesus was AMAZING!! He did not hesitate with wanting to help me. I had told me I was planning on putting this cork panel within the open frame and he actually put it in the frame for me! I would've been clueless as to how I would've gone about doing that. Then he put in the hardware for me so I was able to hang it vertically and horizontally! What a life saver! He had great people skills on top of it all as I listened and watched him with a previous guest. I left extremely pleased! Kudos Jesus! you rock!!! read more

I love this store, and visit whenever I get the chance. I've been to a good twenty different HL stores across Illinois and Wisconsin (some of which have -sadly- closed down since) but this is definitely one of the cleanest, well-lit, and very well staffed stores around. I engage in all sorts of crafting adventures (from building cosplay props to beading to custom action figures) and I rarely know what I'm doing or need when I first start out on a new venture! But the staff here are super-friendly and helpful; and best of all- they're genuinely knowledgeable about their products and crafting. I recently needed an iridescent-type paper, but couldn't find what I was looking for- lo and behold, one of the employees was able to guide me to the last section I would've checked- gift wrapping!- and found a very affordable, gorgeous tissue-paper type product that worked even better than I expected! The only downside is this store (like all Hobby Lobby shops) does rely on manually entering price tags, so be sure to check your receipt if something seems off afterwards- mistakes do happen from time to time (particularly on the weekends, when everyone and their kids seems to drop by!) but they'll correct things immediately if you spot an error before leaving the store. Honestly, I'm not sure how those cashiers keep track of all those sales and whatnot in their heads, but I do hope they switch to a more efficient system soon; though I may never leave if they do! :) read more

This is a great Hobby Lobby. I've always had luck finding just what I need at this location because of its great layout and selection. What set it apart for me tonight though, was the great customer service. I ran in with my daughter to buy some specific art supplies for her friend's birthday. Not realizing that it was 5 minutes til closing time, we were casually looking over the selections when we heard the announcement that the store would soon be closing. As my daughter and I began rushing through our decision, unsure if they'd even let us continue, we were calmly approached by a young man named Matt, who asked if we needed any help. Wrongly assuming that he was just a shelf stocker, I chanced telling him what we were needing (we weren't fully familiar with the supplies we were about to purchase, and the type of paper to go with them). Turned out, Matt was just the right guy to help us out! Within a moment, he patiently and confidently helped us complete our selections, and I had the sense that he wasn't just throwing something at us to get us out quickly. At the register I commented to Jeff on how helpful Matt had been, and Jeff knowingly replied something to the effect that Matt "really knows his stuff" in that department . Nice! It's always great when a store such as Hobby Lobby has knowledgable, genuine, and experienced employees. read more

I loved the store the minute I walked in. After two minutes of being in the store there it was the witch came near my mom and I making us feel uncomfortable everything we looked at we put back just where we got it from, then she cut right in front of me to fix the Christmas decoration that we had looked at. I asked her what was her problem she goes oh nothing I am just cleaning and doing my job. I said dont you see me standing right here you walked in front of me like I wasnt standing there, she goes oh I am calling security which they didnt have security. There comes the so called security he was some kind of a jerk store manager. He totally didnt listen to what I had to say he basically told me oh well if you dont want to buy anything you can leave I was shocked when I heard those words coming out of a store manager to customers that didnt even do anything wrong. I will be calling corporate and I will make sure that store manager gets ripped a new one.
