I came here for an inspection on a Wednesday afternoon, which was easy enough and didn't take too long. I asked if an oil change could be done at the same time. I was told they didn't have time for an oil change that day but I could bring my car back Saturday at 8am. I brought my car back at that time and waited 15-20 minutes just for someone to take my keys since they usually don't have someone at the front desk. I almost left before that and in retrospect I wish I did. I thought since I was bringing my car in early in the morning I wouldn't have to wait long for the oil change, but apparently they were busy with inspections and other things already. I initially planned on waiting but I decided to leave and come back. I'm glad I did because I got called 4.5 hours later saying my car was ready. The total cost was about $125 ($45 for labor, $70 for parts, plus taxes) which is highway robbery (which I suppose is fitting in some way given the location on 125 on the way to I-93). I don't think I've ever paid that much when I asked for just an oil change anywhere else. I won't be coming back here. read more

The 2 gentlemen (Ayham and Tamer) that run the show here are easy to work with. Purchased a vehicle from them and got some warranty work done and both went seamless. Seems like all the bad reviews on here are for state inspections years ago. In 2025 these guys have been nothing helpful. I would recommend purchasing vehicles from these guys. I'm shocked people come on here and complain about state inspections and oil changes. read more

I brought my car in just for a simple inspection, and due to a little snafu (not the station's fault), it took a bit longer than expected. They were extremely apologetic and went above and beyond to make sure I was happy.. Needless to say I am happy with the customer service and integrity of the people there and will 100% bring my vehicles back for any future service they might need. It's hard to sometimes find honest service stations, but I feel confident that I just did. Thank you! read more

Sticker. Told the wait would be 10-15 mins, was actually nearly an hour. Couldn't sit in the waiting area as it reeked of cigarette smoke. The guy at the desk shouted after us "are you going to pay?", without bothering to check that we had already. When I finally got my car back, it too now stinks of cigarette smoke. Go in with a flat tire and they can't even fix it. Terrible service and a waste of time don't bother going there if from the Andover area.

The only place I trust for service and inspection on my BMW. They are trustworthy and I never feel like they are taking advantage. They get the work done and charge a very reasonable price. read more

Inspection Sticker guy = Complete A-hole. Ignores you, then acts like he's doing you a favor by doing the inspection. Very snarky overall vibe & I would never go back. Not sure how this place survives in this town as people here generally expect a high level of service & don't mind paying the cost for it. read more

Wish I could give negative stars here. My wife took her car here for an inspection and an oil change. The oil change charges were $135. $35 for an oil change, and an extra $100 for synthetic oil (not needed), filter, brake fluid, and windshield washer fluid. My wife felt like she got scammed and I agreed. I called the owner to give him a chance to make that right. He defended his charges and said they were reasonable and then said, "we're not jiffy lube", as if the way he changes the oil takes some added skill or his margin needs to be 3x that of a less experienced mechanic. After some back and forth I was too frustrated and told him he was a criminal, which I think he is. Absolutely awful upselling and I would never return. read more

I've been going to Kinsman for several years now and have always had such a great experience. Jack, the owner, is helpful and honest. He goes out of his way to accommodate you, whether it's giving you a ride somewhere while your car is being worked on or making you a cup of coffee while you wait. The prices are better than anywhere in the area, certainly better than going to a dealer. They work on all kinds of cars, including luxury. I've told family members and friends about Kinsman and they've been very happy. The icing on the cake is when I found out they've been taking care of a stray cat! There's a bed, blanket, food and water for the cat. Truly nice people and exceptional service! read more

If giving 0 stars was an options I would have done that! I recently moved to Andover and they're down the street. I brought my car there for a routine oil change. I went for a run while they were changing my oil. They called me half way through my run to let me know my fuel and cabin filters needed replacing and my front brake pads were worn to nothing so I needed to replace them along with my rotors. I expressed that I hadn't felt or heard anything to signify that they're worn out and he said that sometimes that happens but they're basically gone. I was hesitant so I said no to that and, given my little knowledge of cars, said it was okay to replace my fuel and carbon filter. This was my mistake, I should have had my boyfriend do it himself but I got nervous and said yes. When I arrived back for my car they brought out allegedly what my fuel and cabin filters looked like, and a fresh brake pad and what they claimed was what mine looked like...liars. I brought my car to two other shops (one being a close family friend) and both said my brake pads were not worn out yet and I still had plenty of life left on them. These guys at kinsman are liars and just want to get more money out of people. They took advantage of my lack of car knowledge. My oil change (which I've never paid over $70 for) came to $257 because of those filters I said yes to (my fault), the oil change (they used synthetic when I told them regular), and topping off my fluids. Yes, they decided to top off my fluid and charge me roughly and extra $30 for them. Mind you, I had a full bottle of washer fluid in my trunk. I asked them why they didn't ask me first and they said it's routine maintenance. I said well I didn't ask for that I asked for an oil change and he should have asked. He then said, how was I supposed to get a hold of you, you were on a run. Now remember folks, he already called me on the run to tell me all about my filters and brake pads. So I expressed that and he just said "whatever". My point is, they are sneaky and they are prepared to take advantage of you. read more

One star due to zero precautions taken for Covid19. From when you walk in, to when the owner and one of the mechanics were each inside my car to drive it - no masks, no gloves, no cleaning of the surfaces inside of my car that they touched afterwards, nothing. On a regular day, that would be kind of bad too...but in light of this virus, I felt extremely uncomfortable. When the owner came to sit beside me on the bench out front, again, no mask, no physical distancing awareness whatsoever until I told him that's what I was going to do and stood up and spaced out. I've been here many times before for oil changes, all were fine. But this visit, to have my brake pads assessed, I can no way feel good about returning there to have the service done. Very sad, as I have never had a bad experience there before, and I find the owner to be very kind and friendly. May he, his staff and other customers stay healthy. read more

I guess I was being too generous with my last review. I just wanted to support a local business. I went there a second time a couple months ago because I drove over something on the road and it caused damage to my car. They said it was just a piece that needed to be shaved off and so they did just that. Fine, the owner was nice. I went there a third time and this miserable man who works there did my inspection on my new car. I said, "thank you sir. Did you see anything?" With a casual eye roll, he loudly said "well it passed." This guy couldn't be bothered. I'd like to say I was surprised, but I definitely just already had this homophobe vibe from this guy with a Napoleon complex. My car came back to me with an AC that was no longer working. Probably a coincidence, but that's not the point. The point is that this is 2020 and I have to feel like I need to dull down my homosexuality in order to get decent service. So stupid. read more

My maintenance light came on, so I brought my car in. I am a new car owner, so I was a bit frazzled by the whole ideal. Turns out, nothing was wrong. The mile counter was not reset after the last oil change. They fixed that for me. The owner also gave me a mini lesson on what all the dashboard lights mean. If something does need to be fixed, I will for sure be bringing it back there! While I was waiting to find out the verdict, the owner talked to me about graduate school and told me a bit about his daughter. He is down to earth and incredibly helpful. I've been taking my car here for almost 10 years and honestly I've never had better service. I'm a natural skeptic after dealing with shifty mechanics in the past at other auto places, even major chains, but I always know that my car is getting top-quality work done at Kinsman. Not only that, but they work with me on keeping the price reasonable without sacrificing the value of the service. They meet all of my expectations and then some while being friendly and flexible which always has me coming back when I need pretty much anything auto-related. read more
