Reliable place with great service! I first went to DiBacco's last year when I needed a car inspection and I returned again because I loved their service! First off: for car inspections it is first come first serve. The minute they open, anyone can come in for a car inspection. I think this is a good and bad thing. Good thing if you can get in their early but bad if you want to be in and out. Second, the space itself is VERY tight. Last year when I went they had a gas station which made things difficult when bringing your car for appointments. They have now gotten rid of that which is great! This leaves more room for cars when they ask you to leave them. I will say, today I was in an weird scenario where I arrived to have them check something about my tail light (they were very kind and just looked at it to verify it was working but, that is a different story though lol) and I was ready to leave after being told it was fine. Unfortunately, my car was trapped between the cars that were parked in front of me and the cars parked behind their garage. There was literally no room for me to move my car. Luckily I still needed to get my car inspected (I was planning on leaving and coming back) so I just told them I'll leave my car here and I walked back home. I'm fortunate to live close enough to do this but if you live any farther I'm sure this would have been annoying. Outside of the space issues, their staff is friendly and their services are a great value. They are quick and communicative. Highly recommend going here! Highly recommend, especially if you have a student attending nearby colleges. We had a mini emergency and not only did they take our daughter's car in right away but they fixed the issue and were extremely kind while constantly keeping in touch with us (especially since we don't live nearby). Excellent service station. They have worked on my Ford Escape and my Toyota Tacoma. Work includes: a new air conditioning unit, brakes, and a transmission issue on the Ford, and numerous jobs including brakes and bearings for our, (2006!) Tacoma. I always take my car for oil changes, inspection sticker or other related car issues. Everyone is always so nice. I recently had an issue with my exhaust that they could have fixed but would have been costly. I was instead referred to a custom exhaust place that was so much cheaper. Brought car in and was told I had a leak in the exhaust system and would need a whole new exhaust system (about $3K!) Told me I would never pass inspection. Took the car to my regular mechanic...there was no leak whatsoever or anything wrong with the exhaust system. To top it all off, thy charged me $150 for the estimate. Just based on a quote that I received for three tiles to be mounted and balanced at $75 a tire, which I believe to be totally outrageous. Every other gas station or a garage that I have called has quoted me between 30 and $35 per tire. What I've heard about DiBacco's, 's being a Beverly resident my whole life is that they are overly expensive. Basically what I believe is they cater to people that have been going there their whole lives, and can afford to pay more than necessary. read more

Newish to Beverly and came here for my car inspection which is first come first serve (no appts). I get nervous going to new car places since I am always worried where to park or what to do lol but this place was full of friendly people! I have been to a few places I wouldn't want to go back to after my first experience but I will be coming here again. My car is old and often a needs repairs so I'm glad to have found a place that I like so far! Mechanic we dealt with was thorough to the point of taking a video on what he found wrong and what his recommendations were in getting it fixed. I Would never go there again. Got a quote $600 for a lower intake gasket. Ask to check why my antifreeze is leaking. I thought it was the radiator. Turns out it was the water pump simple fix . When you remove the intake gasket. You have everything exposed. You have to take off the fan belt and everything else around it leaving the water pump right there four bolts to remove. I dropped it off on a Friday. They had it for a whole week fri sat sun mon tue wed thr fri and called me at 5:00 Friday afternoon the following said my truck's ready $1200 and change 7.50 hours of Labor billed. takes 2 - 4 hours for a lower intake gasket on a s10 Chevy should have just done it myself where they get 7.5 hours my guess lower intake job 1 job 2 water pump I don't know. Couple days later I opened the hood. Theres just a bracket sitting on top of my intake holds a wire or the throttle cable sensor or something like that wasn't even attached. August comes around. I smell gas. I look under my car no leaks pop the hood there's a puddle on top of the intake where fuel line going into the injector. the nut holding it down only finger tight i wonder what else is loose time will only tell, it's like they Rushed the job. Also told him there was 4 gallons of antifreeze in the backseat. But no, they wanted to use theirs and charge me $45 x 1. I wouldn't even go there for gas or air in my truck, i was gonna wait the year warranty before i posted but i know where not to go ever again a week no truck very high prices and [[ very slow ]] and forgets things [ up date] it seems that they over charged with the text i got in reply to my post [ how many others did / do they over charge ? ] where you want wrong my experience hmm, its not like i drove by saw your shop stoped in asked to fix my truck was a call few days ahead bring it in friday will look at it yet had fri sat sun mon tue wed thr fri to do 7.5 hours that i was billed for ? an hour a day ? hmm, to have a bracket that should of been bolted down not sitting on intake i let slide, but to find loose steel fuel lines a puddle of gas on my intake few weeks back now i wonder what else they missed, im lucky it didn't burn up so folks saying fast service b/s folks saying affordable cheap ha look elsewhere folks don't do as i did loose my truck for a week and pay twice as much as quoted [ they haven't made my review live on their website yet lol read more

I highly recommend DiBacco's! The mechanics are knowledgable and time-efficient, and don't do anything without telling you what they're doing first. The front desk staff are polite and very helpful. I'm surprised to see some bad reviews on here, as I have only ever received excellent customer service from friendly staff. The first time I took my car here, it was to fix the air conditioning. Another place I went told me it would cost a crazy amount just to see what the issue was. DiBacco's charged me a fraction of that to just fix the issue. The last time I went they replaced my front brake pads, rotors, calipers, and hoses for $300 (that was the cost of labor -- total bill was $890). I'm sure this isn't the cheapest mechanic you can find, but from my research the rates here are quite competitive, and I'm more than happy with the bill for the quality service I received. I have a never had such a bad experience at a mechanic shop than I did at this one! The guy working the desk clearly did not care about customer service. He was beyond unprofessional, rude & condescending. I waited 20 minutes to ask a question, while he was busy talking about getting drunk over the weekend. I wouldn't have cared, if it wasn't for the comments that followed. When he finally acknowledged my existence I asked him approximately how much they charged per hour, he inquired further which is understandable. I explained to him the driver side power window control switch was broken, I ordered a new one & it was in the car. He then ask "when did you became a mechanic?" Regardless of how I knew what the problem was, even if I had tried every other fuse until this was the only option left, or maybe because I had already watched a mechanic pop off the switch plate show me the part needing replacement & put it back on. It literally took 2 min, no door panels needed to come off nothing like that. I am not a mechanic, I do not know it all, but what I do know, is I was willing to pay for an hour of their time for what would take two min. I was then told to "YouTube it and do it yourself"... That was it, I was blown away, I have never been talked down to treated that way by a business. I walked out and never went back. Had he taken the time to look me up, they would've seen that I was a 5+ year long return customer. Not anymore, I would NOT recommend this business to anyone! I then drove down the street to another mechanic, BEVERLY AUTO where I asked (mike) the same question. He did it on the spot and I was out of his parking lot within 5 minutes. I offered him $180 cash & he wouldn't take a penny, saying "he wouldn't feel right taking money for something that only took him two seconds". Everytime I've had to get my car inspected, I've brought it here. And, everytime I do, I see the guy at the desk being greeted by regulars, people who see him much more than on an annual basis. He's chatty but doesn't overdo it and they actually seem to have meaningful conversations (i.e. "How'd your mother's surgery go?" "I was sorry to hear about your cat." etc). Makes me wish I came here all the time. When it comes to your car, he's to the point and isn't pushy about having his garage do any of the repairs. I know a bit about cars, not enough to comfortably do engine work, but enough to feel that, even though I'm young, he didn't treat me like I was an idiot. No matter how many positive oil changes and gas fill ups I've had at DiBacco's, dishonesty (or just being wrong, to give the benefit of the doubt) when it comes to car repairs earns this place one star. We brought my grandmother's car here to have some diagnostics run and a few repairs done so it would pass inspection. We were told the problem was the alternator and a fuel injector, and that it would cost about $800 to repair to pass inspection. We made it clear that we JUST wanted repairs done that would allow it to pass inspection, and we were also told the fuel gauge needed to be working to pass (it doesn't). After the diagnosis, we took it to Ryal Side Auto for another opinion, and found out that the alternator was fine, and that the fuel gauge was not a necessity for passing inspection. We paid they money at DiBacco's for the diagnostic tests ($50 maybe?) just to get the car back and haven't been back since. In the end, we saved $300 by taking the car somewhere else. read more

My wife and I are new to Beverly and needed new car repair shop suddenly for a transmission issue. What I feared to be a huge expensive job ended up being a relatively simple and reasonably priced fix. The car had 115k miles on it and so it appeared to be in need of a New timing belt ($1k). Normally a mechanic puts a sticker under the hood when they do this, but not in my case. So I said go ahead and do this. I then got a call that they discovered a new belt and they wouldn't charge me anything!! They are fantastic and so honest!!! This A-hole knew I wasn't going to pass as soon as he saw my car was missing the fog light housing. He told me I wasn't going to pass.. That's when I should have gotten the keys back and drove away to somewhere else.. But when I asked for them back he said "no the state guy is here I can't interrupt him, he does everything the way the state mandates" okay I get that. But why did you allow my car to even go back there with the knowledge that I was not going to pass. So you can take my hard earned money and SCREW ME!! I have never been Rejected for the fog light housing, as long as the bulbs all work then there is no safety problem. Not only did I get a big GIANT RED R on my car but I also had to pay (i've never been rejected before so I didn't know) No one asked me if I wanted the bulbs changed (they were out) no one tried to work with me and let me know about prices for fixing the problems to make it pass. Funny how you claim to go by all the state mandated guidelines yet no one ever explained to me what a red R even means.. No one gave me my vehicle inspection report and I never was given back my registration. So when I left and got pulled over for my giant Red REJECT sticker my car was towed!! and I am left clueless bc these aholes just wanted to take my money and shove me out without a single explenation or a f*** given. When I went back to get my vehicle inspection report and my registration that they failed to give me there was a little sticky note on it that said "the customer forgot these" B**** I DIDN'T FORGET YOU FAILED TO DO YOUR JOB CORRECTLY!!! Save yourself the trouble and go somewhere else!! They value your money more than customer care. WOW! where do I start, I brought my car down the other day after an accident which I was going to being paying out of pocket for. It was deemed un-drivable and I had to get it towed to Dibacco's, I brought it here due to the fact that they opened up at 7AM and boy should I have just waited till 8AM to bring it to my mechanic up the street. I was told that my Tie rods were mangled and all of them had to be replaced! $775 dollars I was looking at, I said alright and swallowed my losses (I thought).. I was at work when I get a call from them saying the power steering rack was completely busted and I needed a new one in order for my car to be drive-able (they said the tie rods wouldn't work because the power steering rack was to damaged, car language is like japanese to me so I trusted him and said alright)... now I was looking at a $2500 dollar estimate, I said no way Jose and told them to just put it in the lot, I went to get estimates on the power steering rack and every other place came back with the same estimate, ok fair thanks for the correct estimate but I wasn't going to be fooled today! I brought the car to my mechanic I always go to up the road and he did his diagnostics because he told me DO NOT trust these guys and boy was he right, hour later I get a call back from him saying I only needed ONE tie rod, and that it just needed to be realigned... $250 dollar cost..... he also said he could replace two tires that were bald for me and the total estimate was $680!!!!!!!! Holy hell how do you guys try and screw people like this, it is beyond disrespectful! I understand its a cutthroat world we live in but trying to screw someone out of that much money is honestly a joke! So much great to say about this place! I've gotten my car fixed twice now from Dibacco's and both times it's been a great experience. Such friendly and helpful staff and a great environment. Mauro was especially helpful to me lacking some knowledge, he made sure to discuss everything clearly and sent videos explaining exactly what was going on and what was being done to my vehicle. Was given options as to what I wanted them to do with prices and they were very honest about what really needed to be done and didn't try to scam me of my money. I have been a customer at DiBacco's since 2013. As others it started with an inspection sticker on my way to work at that visit I found out they do oil changes without appointments. You go in they tell you how many people are in front of you and how long your wait time will be. In addition this is not just a quickie oil change with the pushing to sell you upcharges; they change the oil, fill the fluids and do a once over inspection. When checking out if there are things that were found that need to be addressed they will review them with you, let you know the importance level of each item along with the cost. For someone on a budget this is key to be able to plan for the service that will be needed on the car. Six years later I have had 3 different cars there for all my service needs except for dealer warranty issues and it pains me to go to the dealer and get treated like a number in the crowd. This is a honest, fair and trust worthy establishment. I would now like to address the "guy behind the desk". His name is Parker and he is the face of the business and a unique customer service person who over 6 years I have come to be very fond of. I have also come to know all the players including the owner who you wouldn't know he was the owner because he can be found some days pumping gas just like one of the guys. Recently the DiBacco business family lost Parker the face of their business suddenly, they are devastated but as the true professionals that they are the stellar customer service carries on. I had never been to DiBacco's until I needed to get my car inspected. I just saw them as I was driving by and pulled in and they fit me in without an appointment. They were very courteous and efficient with both me and the other people waiting in the waiting area. As was said in the last review, the guy at the desk seemed to know everyone and was really nice and seemed to genuinely care about his customers. As I said, I've only had my car inspected here, but the staff was great, and the other customers who were there picking up their cars all seemed to be very satisfied. Even though I moved 15 miles away from Beverly a couple of years ago, I am still a loyal DiBacco's Service Center customer. This is the only car service center that I completely trust, in terms of their knowledge, honesty, and professionalism. My father, who is a "car guy" (and lives out-of-state) inspects my car whenever I visit him, and he is always impressed with DiBacco's work, as well as with their prices and honesty. All of the guys who work there really know their stuff, and are kind, hard-working, and honest. After starting a new job and moving, I was on the hunt for a new mechanic. Several coworkers recommended DiBacco's, as their prices are very reasonable and it's walking distance from my office. From the first time I brought my car in for an oil change, I've had nothing but positive experiences. We just started to go there based on referral of a colleague at work. We have been happy and their prices are obviously much less than the dealer and more convenient. They allow you to drop off early and call with your estimate. To date we have brought two cars there for problems ranging from AC/Heat issues to steering issues. I have been going to DiBacco's for several years, and have brought different vehicles there over the years. I have always found them to be incredibly honest, direct, and helpful. I am a female in my 30s and the prime candidate for someone in an auto shop to rip off... I really have no idea how my car works and therefore it would be very easy for them to upsell me in certain areas. Thankfully, they have not (although I have experienced this many times in other places...) They inform me of items to pay attention to, and are consistent with their reminders, but not overly pushy. You can tell that they are honest people who pride themselves on good customer service. They also usually take care of me, even if I walk in without an appointment and have twice in the last month filled my tires for no charge, due to all the pot holes I've been hitting this winter. This place is about as honest and fast as I can find. Parker is the man to speak with regarding any estimate and service. I brought my 2010 Prius for new brakes/rotors and got a fair price. Then after that got fixed I brought in my 2001 Acura MDX, which needed all new brakes and rotors. They called me in the morning and had it done by midday almost, very fast service with fair pricing. I went here yesterday as a walk-in for a MA State Inspection. The guy who answered the phone was very helpful. The inspection was quick (and I passed). But what really impressed me was that while I was waiting in the lobby (with free wi-fi) at least half of the customers who came in were people the guy at the desk knew by name and had clearly been bringing their cars to DiBacco's for years.
