West Lynn Auto Service is a well established family owned business. This time I went to get a Massachusetts State Inspection Sticker. My inspection was done promptly. I passed with flying colors..... Yay!!! West Lynn Auto also is a full service garage with old fashioned values. I would trust them to give a fair estimate and complete the work in a timely fashion. They also have a few lower priced autos for sale. I give West Lynn Auto Service a Solid 5 Stars

Here is what they state falsely on their website.

I live 9 mins from this shop. I stopped by here one morning before work, because my vehicle (2012 VW CC 2.0T) would not run. It wouldn't accelerate past 15mph. While here, i spoke with an older gentleman, thin with a gray beard (don't recall his name). I explained to him the symptoms of my car issue, he came outside and just "starred" at my vehicle, and did not offer to further examine it or even ask any questions to offer any possible solution or suggestions. He then said "I'll be completely honest with you, we don't work with VW vehicles here".. I asked how, it's a common manufacturer. He then mentioned that they don't work on VW cars or any European car in particular. He then kindly asked me to try out a different shop. I then went to a different shop down the street. Turns out my spark plugs had to be changed (simple as that). Now, I looked up the website of this auto repair shop, and they STATE: that they work on foreign and domestic cars. He did not serve me, a customer in urgent need, and did not bother to even check my vehicle. Horrible customer service and untruthful to their website advertisement/bio. Now, whether it's true or not that they did not know how to repair VW/European vehicles, this is a mechanic shop, thus, this excuse is unacceptable. If so, this lack of mechanical knowledge SHOULD be stated in their website. Which is not. I don't want to assume any particular reason for him not wanting to serve me, but I would advice to those with Volkswagen cars or "European vehicles" as he quoted, do NOT come here for your mechanical needs. One of the local shops down the street from here replaced my spark plugs (4 of them) for a reasonable price and exceptional customer service. I will not return to this mechanic shop nor will recommend it to others. Feel free to ask me any questions as necessary.

Mixed feelings about this place: on a positive side the manager (Mickey) called me personally prior…read moreand day after to make sure everything is Ok and thanked me for the business. On a negative side they told me that the vehicle needs $1500.00 worth of bushings and crap and they would give me a discount should I go ahead and purchase it. I took the car to the dealership today and the dealerships mechanic told me that the car is fine and "drives nice" thank you. The logical conclusion is that while having very nice manager is helpful, lying your way in the business is not. I don't think I will be back.

1 Star -- Very Disappointing and Misleading Pricing…read more I booked an oil change for my 2023 Honda Accord and received a confirmed in-store appointment price of $77.31 after tax, which included a $20 discount. I even had a confirmation email clearly showing the $77.31 total. When I arrived at the shop for my appointment, however, the receptionist told me the price was $97. I showed the confirmation email, but they still would not honor the confirmed price. This was extremely frustrating and disappointing. If a business provides a confirmed appointment price in writing, customers should be able to rely on that price. Changing the price when the customer arrives is not a good way to build trust. I was so disappointed by the experience that I left without getting the oil change. I would not recommend this shop. My experience made me question the reliability of their advertised prices and discounts. If you decide to make an appointment here, I strongly recommend getting the price in writing and being prepared for it not to be honored.

My 2019 started leaking oil, and needed an oil change/diagnosis ASAP. Went to Valvoline 12/26/2021…read more(no apt.) and was met with an immensely courteous, friendly staff. Despite being an "in and out" service, I did NOT feel rushed. I explained to them I had a decent oil leak, but being a 2019 should not be due to wear and tear. They started to investigate and checked the seals. Turns out my oil filter that is exposed to the road via undercarriage, had a small hole in it. The rest of the operation/oil change felt like a military operation (prior service Marine); shouted out what tasks were completed to colleague at the terminal recording results of each stage of oil service. Brandon, Alex, Noah, appreciate you all, thank you for being professional, knowledgeable, and patient with finding the hopeful cause of the leak (update: no leaking since oil change!). FYI: I read a few reviews about Valvoline's pricing. Here's the thing. Yes, it's more expensive than other spots. However, most other places you need to make an appointment, and could wait upwards of 30-90 minutes in a lobby/office for car to be serviced/leave for day. Just understand that accessibility is factored into their pricing. I literally went the day after Christmas with no appointment and was in and out in 15 minutes with peace of mind, and could continue on with the rest of my day without having to make an oil change a whole day ordeal. For me, it was worth it. NO ONE asked me to write this review. To be honest, I am happy to write this. The service was fantastic.

I have a fleet vehicle which is a pain when it comes to service (in this case inspections) because…read moreyou have to use a fleet card. The cards issued say "gas only" but we are told to use them for maintenance service as well. We cant use corporate credit cards because this does not bill the Fleet company, so we are are limited in our options. The first 2 places i went refused to even try to use the card because it said "gas only". So i called the number on the card to ask where I could go and once you input your zip code it spews a list out. I went to 4, FOUR of the approved Fleet maintenance shops and not one did state inspections. I was super frustrated because it was now approaching rush hour, and being close to the city I was not in the mood on a Friday. I had already spent an 2.5 hours at this point and hadn't accomplished anything. I called the fleet company and they couldn't find any approved places (I refused to go anywhere other than a town touching mine at this point). They offered Midas, and I told him to call on my behalf and be sure they would take the fleet card because I had tried for an oil change at another Midas and was rejected because the fleet card said "gas" 2 months prior. The fleet guy called and it turns out I was right, my card would not work there. The fleet guy worked out an arrangement with Ivan (of Midas) to pay via credit card if Midas called him back when i got there. I arrived at Midas and Ivan and Connor took care of things. Granted they had to call the Fleet company a few times because it kept disconnecting them, Connor kept trying. It actually took them more time to gain the approvals and wait on hold then to do the inspections; I was so happy that they were patient because I was anything but at that point!

When I turned my heat on the whole front of the car vibrated and it sounded like a plane landing in the front seat.
