I bought this Jeep new and it never leaked ... until I made the terrible mistake of having Certified Automotive Disasters (Upham Street, Melrose) do a substantial amount of mechanical and body work (see my Google and Yelp reviews for details of that monumental debacle). I was almost ready to give up on the water leaks when I called a *real* body shop, Stephen's, to see if they would be willing to at least look at it. I wouldn't have blamed them if they declined to try to fix Certified Automotive Disasters' mess, but, luckily for me, they didn't, and I was able to quickly schedule a time to bring it over for them to assess. Enter Shawn Bolger ... although he rightfully made no promises, he said they would try to adjust the door to stop the leaks. I dropped off my Jeep the following week, and, to my absolute elation, their adjustments seem to have solved the dreaded leak problem. Although it didn't rain a lot this summer, we had several heavy downpours and occasional lighter rainfall, and every time, without exception, my Jeep stayed bone dry (including, most recently, the all-day heavy rain on Sun 09.13). To say I'm thrilled is an understatement ... until you've had a car that has water leaks, you don't know how life changing it is to again have one that doesn't. So thank you to Shawn and the techs who were not only willing to try to help a complete stranger with an unconventional request, but who also had the skill and experience to fix the problem. I can't recommend Stephen's enough based on this brief but outstanding experience ... thank you again.

Then his mmanager tried to tell me that the rpm's are within normal range after a 4 minute warmup it is still running at 1200. I spent a great deal of money on Ubers going back and forth! On my final visit with them they tried to sell me a battery!!!! Can you believe it? I got out of there as quickly as possible. Because I'm elderly, they tried to convince me that this car I've had for 12 years, repairing all its needs on time, is fine. Its still not fine and now I have to find a reputable mechanic to fix it.

They were able to schedule me for an oil change the same day, which I thought was great! When I first arrived, I was a little confused about where to go because there were so many cars around and their garage is located in the back. I ended up calling them, and they let me know I was in the right place and told me to go into their office. After that, everything was easy! They have a waiting area where you can sit while they work on your car. The family pictures on the wall honestly made me feel safe and like I was in a very homey place LOL. And $40 for an oil change (I brought my own oil and filter) is not bad at all in this economy! I had a good experience and will definitely continue bringing my car here.

With the fall season approaching it is time for new tires to be ready for the snow. Rick was one…read morestep ahead he had already given me an estimate to have the have the new tires on my last oil change. This is a big expense for me and because I like cars and have some time on my hands I did a little research into tires on the market. I didn't realize how many different features are available studs, disposal, rating, brand, stocking fee, balancing fee, and if it includes insurance/rotations. I started to settle on the continental tire as a good mud and snow as I didn't need studs. I decided to visit places in person because online quotes were very similar and I needed to ask a few questions about some of the subtle differences to make sure we were talking about the same thing. My quote from bjs seemed like a better price option (attached) but the thing that turned me off to that was I waited there to be seen by the cashier at least 20 minutes with no acknowledgement when I came in. Also he wouldn't let me see what he was typing in the computer I just got a handwritten estimate. He then had to help out other customers with propane and non car related questions that were being discussed. I have no problem with younger people working but I just got the feeling this was someone with inexperience trying to do to many things - the last thing he mentioned was he wasn't sure when the tires could arrive not really giving me a lot of hope or confidence and really the enjoyment for the work and passion for customers just wasn't there. I brought the estimate to Rick who was ready to do business right when I got in no wait and no distractions. He was honest about his price explaining how the difference was because the bigger companies can get away without labor costs. Rick had the tires ready the next day I got a phone call when it was done he even left the keys in the drop box as I couldn't be there at 530 closing. When it came time to pay the bill rick had taken off about 10 dollars (see attached) and I ended up getting the touring tires that I found at Hogan and town fair tire that were more expensive than Rick. This final price included free rotations and I also got a recommendation to have the exterior looked at something I needed to be reminded about. It is a busy season for tires and I am not the only person on the market but getting great customer service really puts me in a thankful spirit and excited about Christmas too.
