Brought my classic Porsche for some bodywork and paint. Bob and his crew did a great job. there was some necessary fabrication and repair that was done perfectly. Just no. Brought my car over to Bob's after finding a dent and some scratches on both passenger side doors. I chose this business since it's two blocks from my home and seemed to have good reviews. Bob gave me a reasonable repair estimate and scheduled the job for about a month later, and told me to call the week before to arrange for a loaner car. When I called, he had no idea who I was and no record of ever having given me an estimate. He said he would look for the estimate and call me back. I drove over there with the printed estimate he had given me after waiting several hours and not getting a call back. Without offering an apology, he made a copy of my estimate and put it on his desk, but then said he didn't think he could stick to the original date and wanted to push it out a week. I said that was fine, but then he couldn't remember whether he had already promised his one loaner car to someone else. Then he said, well maybe he could stick with the original date. He kept going back and forth. Finally he said he would call me later in the week to let me know when to bring the car in. Lo and behold, it's nearly the end of the week and I have no idea when or even if he is ever planning to fix my car because I haven't gotten a call back. I'm not going to go over there a third time and beg him to do the job when there are many other auto body shops in the area. This is the most confused, ridiculous, unprofessional experience I've ever had with any business in my life, so why would I even trust him with my car? Bob has wasted a month of my time and now I'm back to square one. This place may have been great in the past, but perhaps Bob should consider retirement since he's apparently no longer capable of running a functional business that respects its customers. read more

I have taken my cars to Bob's for many years as a loyal customer. But a recent experience makes me think that things have gone downhill. I rear ended another vehicle and needed a new hood and a some related brackets and hardware. When I stopped in I learned that Bob hired one guy, Barry, to field all estimates. He looked at my car and wrote up an estimate that included every last little possible clip and screw, for $2,700. My insurance company had doubts about the accuracy of this estimate. I had the work done by someone else for half the estimated price. It was clear that Barry is there to maximize estimates and profits. I was told that Bob no longer has a set schedule for being in the shop, which means he can't adequately oversee the repairs. I was extremely disheartened by this change. read more

Worked with Bobby on several cars. One was an older Buick with all the bells and whistles and leather uphostery. Things like a missing door handle, missing mirror etc. He hooked me up with all sorts of resources, then painted it Burgundy, the color of the leather and it was a sight to behold. He saved my daughter with an emergency "dent" job to boot, just because he is a nice guy! I can'r say enough good things about the good work that goes in there!! read more

I am so grateful to my Ipswich friends who told me about Bob's. Bob and everyone that works there are experts! My right side mirror was torn off and Bob looked at what was remaining of it and checked the whole right side of the car. He showed me where the scratches were. He repaired the mirror and scratches and painted the whole side of the car. It looks absolutely beautiful, Just like it did when it was a new. If there's a better auto body shop anywhere in the state I'd love to know where. Bob's is the best. Honest, straightforward. Bob and his employees are all terrific at what they do. I had two cars done at Bobs. Great guy. Nice work. Both cars the edges of the hood had chips come off after 3-6 months. Bob said he would fix it. Never happened. Second car, twice he promise to take care of it. He never followed up. Funny thing is that I have to get a repair done on a third car... but not going to return to Bobs. read more

Bob's is the shop everyone shoud use! I don't often write recommendations as I am particular and fussy. Bob has done work on 2 of my cars, Infiniti SUV and Acura and is a perfectionist, is very honest, knowledgeable and fair and will do the best he can to make your work as painless as possible. He worked very well with my insurance company and required little of my time to handle that aspect. Finding someone today that you can trust to do the work right, not pad your bill or add what you don't need and is honest enough to tell you what needs doing and what can wait, is almost impossible to find.
