They took on a job they were not equipped to do and when after months of waiting on supplies they came in to do job- they basically abandoned the empty stripped down pool bc of structural issues they should have checked out prior - and then, after discovering it, which one might be willing to forgive if they then were able to offer a solution or help to remediate. But they didn't! They just left a gaping hole in someone's backyard. Shameless, especially with elderly people. They are lucky I actually do not post the pictures of what they did. Made promises that they did not honor. Treat you like they are doing you a favor. I had made a contract to open pool 1 month in advance on a Thursday. When the day came they said they could not come due to light rain. They rescheduled for Tuesday. Prior to this I had spoken to amber the manager 3 times thinking pool was having problem she was decent. Next day after not showing they said at 5 pm on Friday they'd be there in a few minutes (in the rain) I explained I wasn't there and she said then reschedule and slammed phone down nastily before I could say anything (she could have rescheduled or explained why I lose Tuesday) . I called next day to find my Tuesday had been canceled. When I called I was kept from speaking with Amber then told my pool wouldn't be serviced after 8th call. Same nasty woman that slammed me on the "they'll be there in few mins" on a Friday at 5pm or we wont be there at all. Then said we don't need customers. My in-laws hired them for a job and some of the work looked ok and some looked bad so I thought there may have been a misunderstanding about the work to be done since they're older and gave them a try anyway since I couldn't find many pool guys in Manchester. When I hired them to open the pool and fix a problem I was having with the filter system for our in ground pool the tech really didn't seem like he knew what he was doing or at least just didn't care. With my VERY limited knowledge of pools I could tell there was a problem with air getting in the intake lines. The tech said he wasn't sure what it was but they could come back and run a pressure test in the lines for $600 which "might" give them an idea what the problem was. After some googling and YouTube videos I replaced some O rings and gaskets for about $25 and the problem was fixed. I would not recommend using them. read more

Awful service. I came to them with a simple issue, a small leak causing 1-2 inches of water loss per day. They did two expensive scuba/sonar leak tests costing over $500 than refused to tell me the results, other than "it may be near the stairs". I called them for weeks and was always assured I'd get a prompt call back and never did. Finally I went to the store in person and they took 30 minutes to even find my file - and then told me the 'manager' wasn't there (manager is never there) and they'd call me back. Of course I never got a call back. Finally, weeks later, I got an email saying they weren't comfortable continuing the job. Absolute trash company with rude liars working the phones and desk. Avoid them at all costs - plenty of honest pool companies actually willing to do work in the area. read more

Not impressed. I received poor advise on a pool inspection. I felt rushed during my interaction with Kinney's Pool Service.

They just finished installing our rebuilt/new in-ground pool. They were very professional and worked hard, Ed the owner gave us a reasonably price compared to other pool places. The only reason I'm not rating them with five stars is because it took a little longer to finish the job than Ed said it would; although, its understandable they were also working on other peoples pools. I used Kinney last year to replace my liner and cover. The crew that worked on my pool was awesome! When I had them re-open my pool this year, they were horrible. I gave them another chance and they closed my pool this year. Everything was fine. Well they took my filter grids to clean them. Within a couple of days I inquired about when they would be bringing them back. The girl on the phone told me within a few weeks. Well 6 weeks have passed so I called and the girl tells me I owe money for them cleaning the grids, basically that's why I haven't gotten them back. I never knew I owed money! I assumed when they dropped them off I would pay them, like I always do whenever they do any service at my house. I was never called and told I have a bill. I was prepared to pay the day they took them, but they did not bill me for that, just the closing. They made such a big deal about getting payment for the grids, after I have spent so much money in the past year getting my pool up to speed. I have never NOT paid for any service they have provided. They tell me they are coming today to drop off the grids, and of course make the payment, and we got no call before hand. I was at work and my husband was sleeping. He did not get to the door in time, so they left a note to reschedule and left. My husband called them and they came back but the girl made sure my husband had the check ready for them! Needless to say, they have horrible customer service. The older guy that does the openings and closings has such an attitude and never speaks to you when he's at your house. The people inside the store have no idea what they are talking about. Every time I went in to test the water, I was given a different story about what to do, and could never resolve my algae issue this summer. I will never be using them again. read more

After multiple attempts since the middle of December to meet with someone to purchase a pool from this business, all I got were emails and excuses but no appointment from someone named Jessica. So I called someone named Michael who had given me his name on a card from there last summer when we first inquired about the pool. He encouraged me to continue to try with Jessica, which I did, to no avail. He also encouraged me not to Yelp about my experience! Seriously, big mistake. I was at my sister in laws house, house sitting in Lincroft, NJ and she had her pool service by this company while she was away. The guy was in and out of her home less then 1/2 hour. My sister in law returned from vacation, her and her son in law went outside and couldn't believe all the crap that they left on her rocks around the pool. She asked for a deep cleaning of her green pool, she and her son in law go in the back, they take the leaf net and pull up 4 huge bags of decaying leaves since her son in law saw brown shadows all around the pool, that is ridiculous. My sister in law called Kinney pools today, and they cannot believe the guy was there for less then 1/2 after the paperwork said 1 hour. I was there and he was out of the house less then 1/2 and then I looked at the pool and could not believe the decaying leaves were found in the bottom of the pool. I did sign off on the receipt since they said they cleaned the pool. My sister in law is the home owner of the house. I didn't ask questions. When I called they said no one has to be home when we clean the pool. They told me that the pump isn't working, the pump is on a timer. All is my sister in law is asking for is for someone to return and re clean what they didn't clean. She paid $125 cash for this, it's not right.!!!!! read more

I have been using Kinney Pools for years. Last year, I had a huge tear in my liner and decided not to open the pool due to the fairly short season we have here in Jersey. This year, in May, I ordered my pool liner and it was installed and pool was ready by mid June. As we all know who own inground pools, a liner is an expensive investment. I went to the store where I was greeted by friendly staff and was shown several liners in a pool. It made the decision so much easier to see what it would look like in the pool. Ed and Ray were my installers. They were on time, they worked hard and they were very professional. Did I mention there was grass growing in the shallow end of my pool!!?? Ed said no problem, we'll take care of it and they did. The pool looks beautiful, looks brand new. Also, when I call Kinney, the staff is polite, friendly and professional. I was dealing with a local pool company for many years. A few summers ago they took very long to even open my pool, then even longer to clean it and service my vacuum. As the summer was dwindling, I called Kinney Pool, 45 minutes away, and they were there the next day. ( They were servicing my mother's pool in Brick for many years and she recommended them). Within a few days my pool was sparkling clean! I was so happy that I bought a safety cover and a new liner from them, both of which were priced well. i bought my pool june 2017, they came in did not clean up like they said they would , did not patch the sides like they said they would, pool was horrible, i had to put a payment stop . then ed the owner called me right away came in and charged more money to take the liner off again and redo the floor, still was horrible job but better than before. this year i open the pool the whole pool liner came off from the sided, ed came in and wanted to charge $350 to put the liner thinking i forgot about the one year free re tuck, would never recommend them or use them again. been 2 weeks no one came to fix the tuck i am a bout to bring reputable company and take them to court because not wasting all summer waiting for them to come in read more

Anyone looking for a reliable, trust worthy pool company don't use Kinney Pools. I had a pool put in May of 2015. I have had many issues with different things. They used a subcontractor to plum the pool and I've been having lots of issues with it since we opened the pool in May 2016 for the season. I tried to contact the owner several times, with no response. The salesperson Micheal stopped answering my calls, and they are always giving you the run around. We spent over $37,000.00 on the pool and hot tub and had numerous problems. Go with a company that reputable. I thought I could trust them because I am a business owner myself, nut they definitely are not what I thought they were. Horrible company, would not use them- surprised they are still in business. Signed Contract January 4th 2016 couldnt get them on the phone for over a month and a half. The second i signed the contract and gave them the deposit monies they were unreachable. They claim to handle all of the permiting for you- which was just a sales pitch because they do nothing because you cant reach them, we had an issue with our backyard and of course Kinney was no where to be found finally got issue fixed - which only took 2 days to do and permits still were never filed. Dig was supposed to take place March 1st - they didnt even pull permits yet . Requested deposit monies back and still have not received a response or any monies back- will be taking them to court. They do not have the crap together. " Ed" the son of the owner is a schmoozer he doesnt know anything about pools, he always has to get back to you ( in which he never does). And the daughter Melanie is no help at all and very unprofessional. I feel bad for anyone that is in the process with them right now. This company does not have there own inhouse engineer and they advise you to use Robert Burdicks office in which they are just as bad as the pool company, kept telling me my plans would be done and they never were .
