4/5 because we waited 30-40min for food, but I think they may have been understaffed. The poor cashier was running back and forth, taking phone calls, handling customers, bagging food, etc. Thankfully, no customers made any negative comments while we there. Perhaps they were all regulars. The food is very tasty, but the portions are a little too small compared to the prices, at least for me. I was at the vet next door and had my other puppy with me... I was super thirsty and looking for a place near by to get a drink. Because I had my puppy with me, I could not go inside so, I called to see if I could order a drink from outside. Jenny came out, grabbed my card for me and brought my drink back out for me! We love King Chef so much. The Kung pao chicken is fresh and the perfect amount of veggie to chicken ratio. I also enjoy the sweet and sour chicken-perfectly breaded and fried with a sweet sauce with bell pepper and pineapple chunks. My husband and I always order a side of crab puffs and honestly could just order like 20 of those for a meal they are so good. The lunch specials are extremely affordable and dinner is decently priced as well. I wish they would open a second location so we wouldn't have to drive 30 mins to enjoy some great quality Chinese! read more

My children and I where discriminated against today from this business. We walked in and ordered food from this restaurant and where not allowed to dine -in. There are no signs anywhere outside or inside , stating there is no dine in options. There was a man inside the restaurant eating at a table. The women at the front packed our food and told us, take out food. We asked her for plates for our order , she refused to provide us with plates. I told her we wanted to dine in and eat our food. She kept saying "to go, to go". She wouldn't even look at me, she pulled her hat down and kept writing on a receipt. I ask her why is the other man allowed to eat inside the restaurant and she was forcing my kids and I , "to go" . No answer, she just stayed quite. And my kids are not little kids, they are well behaved 15 and 16 year olds. This business ruined our evening. Needless to add, We just moved and all our dishes are packed away and have no idea where our plates are at home. Great Chinese food! All of the flavors go amazingly well together. I ordered the house Lo Mein, absolutely amazing. I omitted the shrimp but that's just because I only like shrimp cold. So it was beef and chicken and BBQ pork. They BBQ is the most tender, flavorful BBQ pork I've ever had in my life. It's a small dining room, which honestly I kinda like, they play really good covers of mainstream songs on the radio (presumably for licensing reasons). And it's not even that pricey. This is my go-to lunch place. The guys running the joint are really cool and provide a kick-ass selection. You have to try their crab puffs! While other places make puffs that have less than a 1/2 tsp of filling, these guys go alllll out and stuff the puffs! Seriously, it's an amazing place to eat! We came to this location with high expectations due to the favorable reviews and because we were craving Asian food, which the area seems to lack. I must say this wasn't what we expected. First of all, because of the reviews, we were expecting something more authentic, but this place is quite americanized. Although I like the combo option, the dishes are generic and contains a lot of salt. It seems like not much thought was put into constructing the dishes because the flavors could definitely be better. Some other reviews mentioned that service is fantastic but no one greeted us when we walked in even though the restaurant was not busy. However, they were very nice when they brought us our food. Lastly, the atmosphere is far from ideal. The restaurant had a TV that was playing a baking food competition. There is nothing wrong with that, but due to the silly nature of the show and the exaggerated personality of the hostess, it made the restaurant noisy. Also, I'm not sure how a funny baking competition is relevant to the restaurant's targeted audience who came to enjoy Chinese cuisine. The show's high volume made it a bit hard to communicate. Overall, the other reviews are relevant because everyone has different expectations. But this is by no means a place for authentic Chinese cuisine. In fact, I would say it's more of a takeout place than sit-down restaurant. So keep that in mind before visiting. read more

I am so glad I found this place. Since moving here a decade ago from the Boston area, I haven't found a truly good Chinese restaurant. Well, that search is finally over. This establishment shares the plaza with my local Fry's with which I was doing some shopping (for dinner funny enough). My wife, daughter and I come out and are immediately enticed by the intoxicating aroma. Well, I gave into my hunger and I stopped in to get a take out order. The place was pretty full but the lovely ladies behind the counter were super friendly and welcomed me while handing me a printed menu. I ordered hot and sour soup (I judge a place on this alone. It is so good and so easy to screw up), spring rolls and pork fried rice (a staple) while my wife got their chicken teriyaki combo to split with my daughter. It was a short wait and the order was ready. Holy moly was the bag huge. For $23ish, I was blown away by the value in quantity alone. The wonderful smell wasn't just from the outside alone, my bag was full of wafting odorous delights. Getting home we were met with more food that we even guessed and man o' man was it scrumptious. My wife's teriyaki was a full on grilled chicken breast (skin on) covered in a flavorful teriyaki glaze. None of that goo you get from some places. Our rice and spring rolls (combos get a choice of white, brown or fried rice, spring rolls and a crab puff) were delish. The spring rolls themselves were crisp and piping hot. The rice was full of veggies and BBQ pork. My wife also really enjoyed the crab puff. I hate them in general so I'll take her word on it. As for my main thing, the soup... Wow... Just wow. A little sour tang, a hint of heat. Full of mushrooms, bamboo shoots, tofu, egg. A meal in an of itself. Top it off with wonderful and complex flavor and you have a hit. Can't wait come back. I actually felt pretty bad as it seemed like it was partially my fault... but they were SOOOOO kind about the mistake.
