I can't tell you how many hundreds of times I've walked or drove past this place and never knew it…read morewas here. Friends and I have been playing pool more regularly and started branching out to new places for us. This is a great option for any billiards game in Honolulu; they have snooker tables, and pool tables of various regulation sizes. It's located next to Jack in the Box; there's a colorful sign on the door, simply press the buzzer for it to be unlocked to come inside. The main counter is on the second floor, and they have two big rooms filled with lots of tables and plenty of space between them. The clerk was super welcoming, he told us about the place and league nights; there's also a ground level area that's almost exclusively used by leagues. It's comfortable with bright lighting and an old Hawaii vibe to the place. It's also dry; they have a soda/water machine and a snack machine but otherwise no drinks or food. They have lots of cues to choose from, all kept in great shape. Play rates are reasonable about $6/hr per person; for three of us to stay and play a few hours was only $30 total. This is a hidden gem for pool in Honolulu, and you'll see some amazing players here.

Velvet Touch Billiards is the spot if you want a chill, no-frills place to shoot pool. Super…read morerelaxed vibe, with tables spread across 2 floors - love that they split up the crowd like that. The crowd: older, chill, not rowdy. So don't go there acting a fool - this is far from Hawaiian Brian's. Pricing? Shockingly fair. Saturday night, 5 people, about 2.5 hours... $64 total. About $6/person/hour. Hard to beat. Use of their pool sticks and chalk is included. They don't serve food or drinks, but they've got vending machines. If you're like me and like to be prepared, bring a small cooler. They do allow outside food & drinks, NO alcohol tho, so don't get too excited... ;) Now the downfall: THE SMELL. From the moment you walk in, you'll catch that lingering cigarette aroma. Blah! If you're used to Vegas casinos, no big deal. Werewolf like me? I avoid casinos because of that smell, so... that's that. Oh and second downfall is that the tables aren't far enough apart, so you'll have to exercise proper etiquette throughout your entire game. Time does lapse when both tables are occupied beside you, especially if those people lack awareness... so, bring your patience! Parking is a little adventure. There's a tiny lot behind the building, and street parking nearby. We circled the block a few times like lost tourists (Google Maps betrayed us again lol), but once we finally found the driveway, it was worth it.

SERVICE: friendly INTERIOR: modern, chic yet laid back EXTERIOR: on the rooftop at The LAYLOW, good amount of seating WAIT TIME: less than 10 mins to grab a drink at the bar, got seated in the dining area maybe an hour after we arrived (did not have reservations) PARKING: got dropped off OVERALL COMMENTS: always wanted to come here n' finally after how many years made my way on a Saturday night. Entered the elevator n' saw their July music calendar posted, which was great bc I wanted to be in a music setting. They have live music n' a DJ on the weekends. Couldn't decide on a drink so the bartender asked what I liked n' my go-to request is for "fruity, strong, n' sweet." It turned out creamy n' good. The pupus we ordered to snack on were delicious, would definitely order them again. Atmosphere was nice n' casual. Drinks were good, food was great, n' the beats the night I went was my kine of music!

Thank you, Dave & Busters for the amazing deal in honor of National Chicken Wing Day! Yes, we went for a good deal on wings but what made the experience even more amazing was the exemplary customer service we received. Big shout out to manager Alo who checked on us several times. It was a busy and crowded night and Alo thanked us for being patient because there were so many orders and the kitchen was doing their best to send out all orders quickly. We thanked her and let her know we understood that it was a busy and crowded night. Having her check on us so frequently made us really feel special and important :) Thanks Alo! We appreciated your friendly and cheery personality! Our server, Ginger, was also excellent. We ordered the buffalo, lemon and Parmesan and honey bbq wings. All came out hot from the kitchen. Wings were all very meaty and juicy! Onolicious! Ended our evening with the brookie tower - topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, whipped cream and both chocolate and caramel sauce! Also, onolicious! Dave & Busters has a lot of seating, is lit brightly, has friendly workers, onolicious food and just a happy good vibe. Will definitely be back!

This location is at the Ala Moana shopping center but is a bit tricky to find since it's actually down in the parking garage level and is strangely tucked away and not even visible from the mall exterior. The interior is quite large with a separate dining and restaurant area as well as of course the game area. They had many of the same games we're used to back in Vegas along with some unique ones including a new Japanese game that was very popular and always had a line of people waiting. The staff were very friendly and quickly helped us correct an issue with one of the games. The staff in the ticket redemption store were also kind. The store seemed to have basically the same stuff we have seen back home. This is a fun way to pass some time at Ala Moana!
