First time stopping in and I really wanted to have good things to rave about this place, however it just may not be the place for me and that's ok! I will say, their lunch options are extremely affordable for a buffet. It's less than $15/person, but you definitely get what you pay for-- so be aware. The quality of the food was not it for me. A lot of the items that were served were stale (as if it's been sitting out too long) and there were very limited options. Service is great, the staff is wonderful and so so kind. Lunch time is not busy, there's plenty of seating available and it's pretty quiet as well. I hate to admit it, but Star Ocean is the better buffet of the two. Sure it's bit more costly, but you get better options, more options, and better quality. To each their own! read more

We were very disappointed the last time we went to this place. The food was cold, the egg rolls and crab rangoon tasted bad. It was like the fry oil was old. I asked to speak to the manager, to let him know how dissatisfied were. Solid Chinese buffet in Rochester, MN. We got there right at 11 AM, and it was already gathering a decent crowd. Food tasted fresh and service was friendly and speedy. I only give this plane two stars because it was cheap(ish). The bathroom was disgusting. The table was dirty. The soy sauce holder on the table was all rusted out. For real, how do you even allow that to happen as a business owner? Do you have no pride in your business? The food was so so. Everything tasted like it had been out for hours, to the point that I didn't trust the sushi. The fish on the sushi was dried out it had been sitting out so long, which wasn't a good sign. The food was good and the waitresses are nice. The problem is the employee who runs the sushi/hibachi station. He is very rude and acts like he hates his job. Great buffet lunch. Most of lunch was fresh and hot. A couple items were not as crispy as I like them. A couple sauces were very thin and caused breading to get soggy. Decided to treat myself to some Chinese food. Went to Kingdom Buffet. It was friendly, clean, great service, and a wide variety of different foods, including baked Salmon. I went straight to the grill and had chicken and vegetables with fragrent sauce and some chili spice. It came out fabulous. My favorite dish. Food was good. Service was hilarious, our male server wasn't very pleasant though. The highlight of the night was dinner with a show. There was 2 female employees ARGUING EXTREMELY LOUD. The food had a weird taste. When my daughter went up for Jell-O, the plate she got had dried food on it. The little I ate made me sick and I ended up throwing up. Service is not even service the person that came to the table to pick up the plates and bring the drinks never even spoke to us. Good food, nice selection. The food was hot and seemed fresh. I liked the chicken, chicken and broccoli, Mac and cheese, donuts, fried rice. The ice cream was in large containers in a cooler and everyone uses the same scooper and it is "cleaned" in a bowl of water. I wouldn't recommend eating the ice cream if you have food allergies because it's all using the same scooper. Great price! This is hands down the best Chinese buffet in town. It has won a bunch of "Best Chinese Restaurants in the US" competitions. All the food is really good quality, surprisingly good for a buffet. They have sushi (maybe 8/10 in quality), but also a hibachi station with a bunch of proteins and veggies to choose from. I love their chicken skewers: slightly sweet and perfectly cooked, just amazing. They have really good versions of the usual chinese dishes (general tso's, broccoli beef, coconut shrimp, sesame chicken, etc.) It's all really good. They also have a good selection of seafood (salt and pepper shrimp, clams, mussels...). Some days they even have crab legs! I usually go and take a styrofoam box to take it to go instead of going for the buffet: for $8 I have food for two meals. It's a great place, great value. read more

Very nice selection of typical Western Chinese food on the buffet. As a bonus, they have a large and tasty selection of Americanized sushi. If you are in the mood for this type of food (we all get those cravings), Kingdom Buffet will make you very happy. The most notable aspect of the place? The owner/manager that works here. I've never seen such an attentive employee. He ran (I'm not kidding, he literally ran quickly) around the place making sure everyone was happy, that the food met his standards, and that the place was spotless (Kingdom Buffet was one of the cleanest Chinese Buffets I've ever visited). The employees and service definitely get a 5/5 stars. The price includes a soft drink and ranges from $10-15 a person. read more

Tried this place for the first time tonight. The staff are very polite, and the pricing is fair. They have a massive selection of Chinese, Japanese, and American fare, as well as a Mongolian grill and modest sushi bar. I tried a variety of dishes and all were great to excellent, in my opinion. I really enjoyed their interpretation of coconut shrimp-it's definitely not what comes to mind when you think of coconut shrimp, but it had a great flavor! My issue with this place isn't the food at all; it's the dining area. My mom and I were seated in the dining room right off of the check-in area, and the carpeting in said dining room needs to go, stat. The entire carpet has a very distinct, noticeable stink of manure emanating from it. This would be a problem in any business, but you can understand why it's a major issue in a restaurant. I haven't been in the other dining rooms, so I'm not sure if this problem is throughout the restaurant, but it's pretty disgusting in the main seating area. I would love to give this place a higher rating in the future, but that smell just doesn't sit well with me. Great staff and food, though! read more

This used to be really good but not anymore. The lettuce on salad bar was stale.Open bottles of walmart dressing. THe iced shrimp is not deveined and taking it out on your plate is kind of gross. So is eating it. The egg roll I tried tasted off. The "crab" rangoons have zero crab and barely any cream cheese.Meat was tasteless and chewy.the only fresh thing was rice noodles. They were good. This is one of the very good Chinese restaurants in town. What i really like about it are a few things. First, it is pretty close to downtown. Location is very convenient and it has a huge parking just next to it. This makes finding parking a breeze. Another really nice thing about it is that it is a buffet. A relatively big and wide variety of foods are available. They keep them filled up, fresh and hot all the time until they close. So you don't have to worry about arriving late evening and not finding enough food for the group. It is great for family or friends. Great for big groups too. Their food is delicious. They have a nice desert corner with several options. I love their cookies and ice cream. All in all, a great soot for groups for an all-u-can-eat place. read more

Kingdom Buffet is your typical low-quality and high-quantity Chinese buffet. There are vats of fried everything. About 60 percent are obviously Chinese food: pot stickers or sweet and sour chicken. About 40 percent have unknown items in them or items that were labeled as "coconut shrimp" which were obviously nothing of the sort. I put one item entitled a "crab fritter" on my plate that definitely didn't look like a crab, contained no crab, and no imitation crab inside of it. The desserts and non-Chinese options such as cookies looked prepackaged from the grocery store. Not exactly high quality food and if I could do it over, I probably would have gone somewhere down the street for lunch instead. I will give Kingdom credit, that there servers are polite, the food was full and looked freshly cooked. The prices were also pretty reasonable for a lunch buffet at $8.95. Just not my kind of place. The Buffett is huge. $8.95 for lunch. $11.95 M- Thursday for evening buffet and $12.95 for Friday and Saturday evening. The Mongolian Grill did not have a ton of different choices, but it was the best food there. The sushi was basic and it was super Americanized. All of the seafood from the coconut shrimp, to the salmon, to the sushi, was pretty ho-hum. For non-Chinese eaters there were quite a few options available: pizza, criss-cross fries and meatloaf are a few I remember. The service was fast and timely. They did have plenty of baked sweets and 8 kinds of ice cream that I didn't have the stomach space to try. All 4 of us at the table found plenty of food we liked to eat, would go back if we come back to Rochester just because it has such a broad selection. read more

One of the freshest buffets I have been to, no matter what the time. They also have a mongolian grill and a small sushi bar, but don't get too excited. The sushi bar primarily has small rolls with immitation crab and a lot of rice. But it's something, and it's never been bad. They also have an ice cream bar (that includes green tea ice cream), dessert bar, fresh fruits and veggies, and a variety of Asian and American dishes. Great for hangovers! read more

Best buffet we've had ever!! We are in Rochester at the Mayo Clinic and have dined at Chinese Buffets all over the U.S., and this was so tasty! We arrived at around 11:45 am and it was busy, so everything was fresh and being replaced quickly. The egg rolls were definitely the very best I've had, plus the crab Rangoon and pot stickers were awesome! My husband had the Mongolian grill, said it was excellent. They have a nice salad bar, plus non Chinese dishes such as roast pork, corn on the cob, lots of hard ice cream choices, desserts, fresh fruit, a great value for $9.15 per person, not including drink. Service was very attentive, overall, wonderful, will definitely be back on our next trip to Rochester! read more
