Service is great. Good selection for a small venue. Great price for the buffet. My favorite is Black Pepper Chicken on rice, which is usually on the buffet. Good variety with tender beef and chicken. I didn't personally visit the restaurant, however I hated the food I ordered. Everything was so overly filled with raw onions that's all I could taste for the most part. The Mongolian Beef was just beef stir fry without noodles, I was I was exaggerating (it too was mostly raw onions. I can't say for certain, but later that night I had severe explosive diarrhea and projecting vomiting. I'm giving 2 stars only because I didn't personally visit the restaurant. read more

It's a small place and there are very few signs for you to even find the place but you walk in and it is quite small, not a a lot to see in here just a few booths and tables. The lady running the show is very nice and attentive, and she came and cleared everything up in a timely fashion. The food was loved by others in our group, I'm not as keen on it but maybe that was just me. Either way, nothing wrong with the place and I would be upset if I was back there. read more

Food: This place is a hole in the wall Chinese restaurant with a small buffet that's full of tasty, savory food. It only has about 10 entree choices and 10 appetizers / soups, but that's enough. There's plenty variety in the chicken and beef dishes - my personal favorite is the Pong Pong Chicken. And for $9 for an adult dinner, this place is a STEAL. It's $7 at lunch. Both include a drink. My only dislike of the food is the egg drop soup which feels too thick. Other than that, everything is wonderful. They come out and stir the food and replenish it often. Venue: A tiny hole in the wall that seats about 50. They have plenty parking and the place is very clean despite its very old exterior and interior. This place is family run and full of love. If I could give it a 0/5 stars I would. Absolutely terrible food. Luke warm at best, bland, leaving a LOT to be desired. Buffet is the size of a surfboard. Not many options. Save your money, and your stomach. Go somewhere else for food. read more

We were driving through Cannon Falls and saw that Great China had very positive reviews so we decided to go there. The location looks suspect, but the food is really solid for a great price. I love hole-in-the wall places like Great China Restaurant. It's not dirty, the place just looks really dated. Oddly, the ceiling had some amazing decorations, while the rest of the stuff could use some updates. The seating/booths were comfortable and clean. I had the lunch buffet after I drove up to Greg's for our jerky fix and was very happy with the food. $5.99 for lunch is a great price. I prefer buffets that have a small quantity of food and make sure that it all tastes great. If you're looking for 200 items on a buffet instead of about ten really well prepared items, then avoid this place. Everything was hot, made fresh, contained tons of veggies, and tasted very good. The crab rangoons were made just how I like them; bite-sized, crunchy, hot, and with just the right amount of filing. They had a ton of chicken dishes and I enjoyed all of them. Some of them I'd never seen before on even some of the larger buffets. I really liked the crunchy pepper chicken. Two people worked during lunch and were very professional, worked hard, and had smiles on their faces the entire meal. One employee was hostess, waitress, server, answered the phone, and cashier. My only suggestions/complaints were that there was only one eggroll on the buffet for my first trip and it looked soggy (had been sitting for some time), so I didn't get to try it. They did bring out some fresh ones that I saw on my second trip, but I like to start with the appetizers and then move main course. The soups could maybe use a little more salt. The hot and sour had ton of great veggies and tofu. However, just like the egg drop, they both needed a tad more salt. I noticed that they have take-out during lunch too. It was $5.86 (with tax) for a medium-sized polystyrene container. Overall, if I'm in the area, I will visit again. read more

Hit this spot by accident a year ago and now drive 40 miles from the cities for some of the best buffet food I have ever had. Yes please. Hole in the wall, check. Real Chinese (northern) who have difficulty understanding what you are saying, check. Fresh prepared american Chinese food on order, check. Flexible and let you bring your bottle of wine in from the local winery, check. Not crowded, check. Pretty much as good as it gets for a small american Chinese restaurant. Don't be afraid to ask for off-menu items if you know what you want, for example, the fried tofu substitution we ordered was amazing. Stopped here around 2 pm and was very satisfied with the food quality. The lunch buffet is very small and contains mostly chicken dishes. What I ate was very hot and flavorful though. Good value for the price. Will be back! read more
