We order from here about once a week. It's the best I have found in Rochester. Their set up for social distancing during the pandemic is very innovative and keeps their staff and customers safe. The Black Pepper Chicken is our favorite - hands down! The sauce on that dish is slightly sweet and the black pepper is not overpowering. It comes with white onion and sliced green bell pepper. We always get at least two egg rolls we like them better than the spring rolls. We have tried the Mongolian Beef, the Szechuan Beef, and the Hunan Beef. None of them really stood out. But tonight we also tried the Kung Pao Chicken and the Beef with Garlic sauce and we're pleased with both. Always fast and always solid food. I like their lunch specials. More-mixed vegetables is brown sauce and Chinese vegetables has white/clear sauce. Sometimes I forget and then which I would have ordered the other ones. Crab Rangoon are too oily for my liking. I like the wonton soup. We tried China1 takeout for the first time last night and were quite happy with our find. The food was fresh and delicious albeit a bit bland, but we didn't request any specific levels of spiciness. The portions were generous and we really appreciated that. The pot stickers and accompanying sauce were some of the best we've ever had, and we eat a lot of Chinese and Asian food! This place is what Chinese restaurants are all about. Looks to be family run, great prices, food and amazing value. I had the Bourbon chicken and she had the garlic chicken. They have dinner specials that come with ran-goons and or egg roll. Everything was just super tasty. We are in town for a short period while getting treatment. Now the hardest thing is planning to see how many times we can stop in before leaving without eating there everyday. At a glance it looks a little run down but don't let this scare you away. Is that like saying that Godfather's is the best Pizza? We were the only customers in place yesterday, during the early stages of Sunday evening. You order at the counter and then they dish you up based on the overhead menu and deliver it to the table. Before that, you need to grab your own utensils, napkins, and fortune cookies. No alcohol is available, so we all went for water. The service was quick and friendly. I ordered my usual - Kung Pao Chicken with white rice, with the fried version also available. My impression was that I got a lot of decent but average Chinese food for the money. That's not a bad thing as I was hungry and I enjoyed the meal with enough leftovers for lunch the next day. And if I happen to be in town again, I would come back here as a comfort food option (and at home with an adult beverage), but not as an "Oh Wow" dining experience. read more

My dad just got out of the hospital so we were on a mission to find hotel takeout. China 1 worked great! We ordered the food online as we walked out the door. Staff was friendly, the portions were huge, and the timing was perfect. They were actually packing it up as we walked inside. Nothing stood out as being extra special but it wasn't subpar either. The 4th star really comes down to the value. There was a HUGE amount of food for the taste & price with the location being walking distance from the Fairfield Inn & Suites. Not to mention, it was still surprisingly good reheated. Pro-Tip: If you have a long stay, order early in the trip. I'm normally not one for an excessive amount of leftovers. This is THEE most nastiest dirtiest Chinese food I have had in my life. I'm from Florida so I guess this is the "good stuff" up here if you go by the reviews. The shrimp in my rice was so unclean it had my whole Large house rice contaminated. The chicken wings were fried in old oil and was not clean before fried. The egg rolls were small and tasted like the conjunction in it was dirty. Ew ew ew!! CLEAN YOUR MEAT CHINA 1, with vinager and clean your seafood with lime!! Y'all know better than that!!! I had high hopes for this placed based on the reviews. Maybe it was because of the volumes of orders they are receiving right now- but I was very underwhelmed with the quality. I ordered chicken broccoli and crab rangoons. The crab rangoons were undercooked leaving the cream cream mixture lumpy and extra runny. I could barely eat one when normally I'd eat the entire order immediately first. I moved onto the chicken broccoli and the order was overwhelmed by broccoli which isn't out of the ordinary for some places. However the carrots and broccoli were undercooked as well and were stiff like they were still mostly raw and unsteamed. The sauce was gooey and tasteless leaving the chicken in a pool of its own oil. I would like to say that I'm a big fan of Chinese food. And I wouldn't taste a difference between the fresh Food and frozen. In China one, I had a great experience it was very delicious and fresh made. The inside of the restaurant looks pretty big and very clean. The restrooms are also very clean. I ordered Pepper chicken with some onions. The food was very delicious I've very enjoyed it it really tasted like it was prepared freshly. The tables stand pretty close to each other, however you can bring your friends and that you will still have enough space for everyone. There are many many parking spaces outside. We actually came there on a semi truck but without a trailer so we even had a space to park there.I would highly suggest you to come there and try their food they have many varieties of different kind of Chinese food. We enjoyed our food and it was served hot except the hot and sour soup was on the cool side. The portions were generous and the wait staff was very friendly. I did not read about the styrofoam and plastic dinnerware or we might have tried elsewhere. The dinning area needs a good cleaning from top to bottom. The dinner options come with an egg or crab Rangoon and you can get rice/fried rice. They have a lot of options for lunch/dinner. In fact my favorite is bourbon chicken which nowadays can be hard to come by. But they have bourbon chicken here and it's delicious! When you do take out you can grab your own utensils, soy sauce, duck sauce, fortune cookies, etc. to the left of the register. We're thinking about trying their catering-sized orders one time, where you can order a lunch/dinner and it comes in a large tray.
