This place is so good. It is located inside the galleria. They have daily specials, make sure you check them out. They serves Chinese/Vietnamese/Cambodian dishes. Make sure to check out their menu. My favorite item is their grilled pork and chicken dish. Delicious. I can't wait to come back and try other dishes.

We were in Rochester MN for 2 days. I looked at Yelp's Top Ten and noticed First Meeting Noodle…read more Right up our alley. Watching your noodles being pulled and boiled is a true treat. We ordered Sichuan Wontons in Chili Oil and Scallion Pancakes for a first course. The wonton noodle was the best I've ever been served. We had Green Beans and Curry Chicken Noodle for mains. We brought lunch ingredients to make sandwiches at our conference. Instead, we returned for more wontons and pancakes. Our companion was interested in calamari (spent ~45" too long in the fryer) and a bowl of chicken noodle soup that was too big to finish. I thought the broth was good, but I'm partial to a saltier ramen style broth. Shops with hand pulled noodles should offer small scissors. You could pull on a single noodle in your bowl like forever!

We had already eaten at the Kernel and Pizza Ranch, and everything that we viewed on Yelp had ratings of 1.8 or below. I found the First Meeting Noodle in Rochester, Minnesota, 38 minutes away, so yeah, road trip! When we arrived, we found hotels all around; the area looked newly built or well maintained, and parking was easy. We entered the restaurant, were quickly seated, and were given menus. I ordered soup, and my trustworthy technician ordered noodles with vegetables. We agreed that it was worth the drive, and we couldn't stop talking about the cook tossing massive noodles in the air. He was our hero for the evening, and he definitely had mad skills. The restaurant was well maintained, with clean restrooms, and they always had someone clearing and cleaning tables.

Great Wall is a great pick if you are looking for takeout Chinese food in the Rochester area. I…read moreordered a variety of dishes and ended up enjoying all of them. The dumplings were really good both steamed and fried, and the beef and broccoli was also solid. Everything tasted fresh and satisfying. I got the food to go, so I cannot really comment on the inside of the restaurant, but the food stayed hot all the way back to my hotel, which I appreciated. I would definitely recommend giving this place a try if you are in the area.

Tonight was the first time with the new owner. I asked the wife to recommend a VERY flavorful dish. She recommended the garlic beef ( I wanted beef). It was outstanding and the BEST in Rochester. The seasoning was a 4.5 - - excellent blending of different spices creating a WONDERFULLY delicious light brown sauce, subtle garlic flavor, with Plenty of zucchini, broccoli, little green pepper, onions, mushrooms, bamboo shoots and I opted out of carrots/received more broccoli. Also rare in Chinese restaurants - - the dish was prepared with lots of sauce thus giving the dish even more flavor. Everything was very nicely chopped up in bite size pieces - - super piping hot! If the meat had first been deeply cooked in the brown sauce, and if the pork fried rice had a bit more soy sauce and flavor, I would have given them a Rochester "5". Over the years (25) I have tried a few other chinese restaurants here, and always come back to Great Wall. ( Grew up north of NYC and always ate in Chinatown.) The vegetables are always plentiful, varied fresh delicious. Portion of beef was also very good. EXCELLENT value and quality of ingredients. Restaurant has always been extremely well maintained and clean. It is worth driving over to get it so amazingly hot! Enjoy!!

The staff is wonderful, even when they're slammed. The service is excellent. The restaurant is clean, the food is always so fresh. Seriously a gem in Rochester.

The Internet shows they close at 7:45 pm, but the store sign shows they close at 8:00 am. There is parking in the front and also in the back. The back parking looked like residential parking with the nearby homes, but the staff assured me it's their parking lot. My party of three got seated right away towards the window facing the front parking lot. We received laminated menus. The menu can be confusing because it doesn't show the full pricing for the pho options. I had to ask the waitress for clarification since there were pricing next to the meat options and pho options. I ordered the oxtail and rib beef pho which was a total of $26 plus taxes. The broth was flavorful, but cloudy with residue from the meat. The noodle was soft, but firm. The oxtail was soft and fall off the bone good. The rib was soft but tough. It was disappointing because I thought it would be soft and tender, like fall off the bone good. Also they forgot to include it in the pho soup and when I asked about it, they brought it out right away. Pho rating - I rate it 3/5. My friend order the cream cheese wonton. It was good, 3/5 good. Staff members were friendly. Just be aware that a staff member may tell you they will be closing soon. That happened to us this time. Overall the place was small, but sizable for a dinner outing with a small group of friends. I would go there again, but wouldn't go out of my way to order it.
