That said it's catered for the local tastebuds and not viet tastebuds when it comes to a bowl of pho. I felt bloated afterwards which tells me there is msg. Not much meats I'm typically accustomed to in Houston. But that's okay. I needed a quick fix and this works Overall, I would recommend coming here for a quick fix if you're craving pho. This place is great. The food is great. The pho broth is excellent. I moved away, and when I came back 7 years later, the broth was still some of the best out there. Any comments about the ambiance is best ignored -- is this a brand new restaurant funded by some big shot in town? No. It is run by people who have put their hearts into this place and likely don't have the overhead to make big changes to the space itself. Would that stop me from bringing my family? We blotted the oil out of them. AND they were not hot. Condiment bottles dirty and not refreshed. Lastly the bathrooms--my 8 year old did not want to use it. I think people who run restaurants need to think more about the experience they provide. If you're going to put authentic on the menu please be authentic. This is false advertising. My husband and I picked up an order of beef and snow peas and an order of chicken and snow peas. The vegetables and rice were very good, but the meat was not very good. The beef was very gristly and the chicken was very chewy and tough. We will find another place to try next time. read more

We love ordering takeout from Pho Tai. My favorite is the #48 (vermicelli noodle salad with pork and egg roll.) It wasn't something I would normally order but based on my hair stylist's recommendation I decided to give it a try. It is now the only thing I order! The pork is seasoned so perfectly and uniquely I can't quite place it, but all I know is that I crave it! I've had Pho Tai to go and dine in. The soup both times have been super flavorful. Price is great! Pho only comes in one size mostly, but I think they have XL for a select few choices. A bit salty if left overnight. I also tried their egg rolls. Instead of typically getting like 4 smaller ones, you get two big ones cut into two. They're super generous with the meat filling and we enjoyed it! The only thing I wasn't a huge fan of was their grilled pork dish. The spring rolls were tasteless and gummy; the sauce was a huge disappointment as it was like no other dipping sauce I've ever had (more like a cold gravy). The won ton soup had one actual won ton; others were broken up into overcooked pasta pieces and little balls of meat. The Pad Thai was dry and had no distinctive taste. Yup the foods and drinks are much cheaper than pho chau, the food (especially pho, the rice noodle that they put in the pho soup absolutely delicious) is more tasty. My favorite always number 26. Well, we thought we had found a great place for Vietnamese style egg rolls, the real way that they are supposed to be served. We started dinning here again , after several bad experiences & were becoming regulars . The last few ti.es the prices kept climbing for a side of pho vegetables, herbs, Thai Basil, cilantro, lettuce leaves & bean sprouts. We understand this industry , as our family started crating new restaurants here in Rochester , back in 1923. We have owned & operated places in multiple states over the last 100 years. The price was very cheap the first couple of times & we were becoming friends with the staff. After a half dozen trips. We were weekly customers and enjoying our new found delicacy. The next trip the side of vegetables went from 4.00 to 12.00? So we didn't say anything , but asked when we returned next time , how much they would be? The waiter went to check , we brought guest along this trip & were excited to share this new found haunt. Next thing you know , " the owner" ? Came to our table , obviously upset with us? She expressed extreme frustration? With us , for ? She explained prices changed & that the new menus were not out , but we were going to " have to get used to it? Hmm, well ok , not really as we are the customers & WE will support whoever we choose to support. She was extremely rude & obviously extremely frustrated with the fact she's unable to keep stable staff or customer base? We were charged 4.00 for each ingredient , five leaves of lettuce a few sprigs of Basil, a handful of sprouts . 16.00? The egg rolls are cheap at 5.00 an order, so it was really reasonable , til she decided to to charge for a dinner for a side of pho vegetables? Hands down the best Pho restaurant in town! The broth in the Pho is better than most other places even in Minneapolis. The broth is a good balance of salt and savory. The egg rolls and fish sauce dip is also a good pairing with the pho. The value is pretty good for a big bowl for about $8.50.
