I visited this king taco and I was given 4ounce of salsa for 12 tamales, I asked the manager (who is a very arrogant person) for more sauce and he yield at me that "they only give one four ounce of salsa for twelve tamales"... lol... seriously!!!! That's the equivalent of Nothing per tamal!!! I don't mind if they would've changed me for more sauce. Never going back here, I work for a tech company near by and we have always ordered from there, but since this incident we are not coming back. The first time I tried this joint was a complete disappointment. I was so excited to welcome them into the neighborhood, especially since they had put up such a professional sign and appetizer posters on the windows. I waited approximately 30 minutes before I could get my tacos, and once I tried them, they were really nothing to write home about. With that said, I let it slide. I thought that most likely they had just opened up and had a few screws that needed tightening. But I tried them again a second time nearly 6 months later and this time, my business partner joined me. We both ordered burritos and he also added an order of tacos. The wait wasn't that bad this time around although I was handed a pinto bean burrito even though I had ordered a carne asada. Again, mistakes happen, but my one star really comes down to the quality of the food. Both of our burritos were liquidy and didn't taste very good. And the meat in my order had a lot of fat around it which I had to spit out and that's just something that I can't handle. Whoever does the marketing and creation of the signs for the business is brilliant because the storefront will get your attention and draw you in, but I think they really need to take a closer look at improving the food quality. read more

After hearing all the hype about King Taco I finally went with a friend because we were absolutely starving! Unfortunately the experience was rather unpleasant. The food was not authentic and cold. Having had some really great Mexican food in LA, I was really disappointed. I ordered the chicken flautas which I've had at other restaurants and my friend ordered the chicken taco.... long story short the next day we both had food poisoning!!!!! It was awful! This is a much nicer location than the others I've been to (where it's located/the inside). It also has a much larger seating area than other locations. Their tacos are some of the best, I think. It's the go-to late night spot for a whole mess of delicious tacos and horchata after a fun night out. My partner is disappointed by any tacos that aren't King Taco. I would actually recommend the "to go" option instead of the "for here" one. The reason is that some of the employees look "too lost" in their little bubble an will take a little while for you to get help or information about the food if you ever need it. Another thing is that since you don't need to ask for a key or a token to use the restrooms the place have become a homeless people paradise so it is becoming almost impossible to use it when they're taking their sweet time doing, who knows what in there. My bad, I actually trusted these guys were competent enough to read and complete a ticket. Every time my order has been incomplete. Waste of money. I've worked as a cook before and last time I checked, you check the to go order make sure it's complete before you hand it to the customer. Horrible customer service. AND when I tried to call back to rectify the problem, no answer until after four tries, and then they proceeded to hang up on me. Called back, suddenly by some miracle the phone line was busy, in an age where there's call waiting. They need to get their shit together. Learn how to read a ticket and learn basic customer service! I LOVE KING TACO however... So as a fan of all things taco - it pains me to give King Taco Glendale only 2 stars. There's just something not right about this place. Yes they have the "usge." Tacos, burritos, sopes, tamales, and flautas. They have aguas: horchata, hibiscus, tamarindo. But, again, something is a miss... First off, it's filthy. The counter where you pick up your order is covered with onions, cilantro, and remnants of the day's previous orders. The table's - the same - DIRTY! The drinks bar is littered with straw paper and used drink lids, also the ice dispenser was empty. The floors also dirty. I didn't go into the restroom but can only imagine. There's an odd smell inside too. It's not a clean smell, just weird and unappetizing. The food, well... I ordered carne asada: 3 tacos and 2 burritos. Tip: If you order tacos, don't get onions and cilantro or you will get close to half an onion on each taco. So much onion that you can't see the meat or tortilla underneath - frankly it's ridiculous. I also ordered a burrito - little meat, it's mostly rice, beans, cilantro, and again ONION! King taco also has to invest in showing the workers in Glendale how to wrap a burrito. All the talk about King Taco... I finally decided to trek all the way to Glendale to give it a try... Here's what I've ordered for the family dinner... Asada Tacos Cabeza Tacos Lengua Tacos Pastor Tacos Asada Sopes Mole Tamale The best one of them all was the Mole Tamale.. although I couldn't really taste the chocolate flavor of the mole, it was actually pretty decent for $1.75 Asada Tacos were the second on the list... the flavor was on par with many other asada tacos out there, but it was not too bad... Pastor tacos wasn't what I was expecting... it wasn't my favorite Cabeza tacos actually had a strange smell but perhaps that was because it was Cabeza... it was soft though... Lengua tacos had very little flavor, but it was extremely tender The asada sops was ok... the shells were really hard though.... but I do enjoy the lettuce and the cheese topping... Early warning on the salsa! They were actually quite spicy! (Red) Green is less spicy but does have a kick as well... Parking is really tough at this corner of Broadway and Maryland... a tip would be to drive directly across the street and park in the parking structure for a FREE 90 minutes parking.. (Next to L&L BBQ) You will however need to walk about a block or so to get to King Taco though... Final Verdict... It really wasn't what I was expecting and the portion was small according to many King Taco fans... I ordered the all-meat carne asada burrito. On the menu it said it came with meat, onion, cilantro and salsa. I got the burrito and was going to grab some extra salsa by the counter but they didn't have any out, so I thought to myself, I'll just eat the salsa that's already in the burrito. When I got home I was so disappointed to find that they did not put any salsa on the burrito. I was too far away to go back. I guess you have to specify you want salsa even though it says it comes with it on the menu. I would think the person taking your order would confirm that with you. She DID ask if I wanted onion and cilantro but no salsa. This burrito tasted very strange and I don't think any amount of salsa could have helped. The tortilla was very stale. Who knows how old it was. The carne asada tasted like a big lime and the texture was very strange. Not sure how they prepare it, but it was so dry and not "grilled" tasting. King taco in Glendale is two faced. Allow me to explain, the morning crew seems to understand what customer service is all about, your order is completed on time, the staff seems to be receptive to the customer's needs. The morning crew is always, and willing to abide by the customer's request. Now for the other ugly side of King Taco of Glendale...the staff cannot be more inadequate, if they were paid to try. Evening shift does not care for the customer. They are more involved with their personal life than the job they are paid to do. Multiple times, my staff has decided to dine at their restaurant and every single time the wait time has been over 20 minutes for a small order. The staff decides to call your number in Spanish, gets angry for not you not understanding the language. If you dare ask for an additional salsa...it will cost you $0.50, worst of all it will take an additional 10 minutes to be thrown to you. At night, the only staff that out shines the rest... They ask if asks if your order was to your content and/or need require an additional item (napkins, salsa, the order was done to your specifications is a young lady named Yesenia, which "manager" has her busting tables and cleaning the receptacles, along with Dolores Kuhn working the register. Management has to seriously think, and a find away to change this chaos. If they are to continue to do business in this city. P.S. Don't bother to call customer service as the wait time is over 45 minutes. read more

My cousin was having her birthday at 103 Lounge and we got hungry. It was literally a few stores down and is open until 2am. You can NEVER go wrong with King Taco. Woohoo!!! A King Taco next to home!! This location doesn't have chimichangas like Pasadena but they do have guac and crema. Free 90 min parking next door and although lines are long, food comes out pretty quickly. I thought the service would be a bit better than the LA locations but... nope. They were still shiesty with their sauces and onions. There's really nothing more to say about it. If you've been to one, you've seen em all. I ate here last night and got sick off the burrito. They gave me very little meat, and was jerks about the sauce. Soda machine was "broken." Had to wait in line to get a refill which I never did. Employees are ass stupid and rude. I asked if it was my order on the counter with my number 124. Jerk said I don't know is it???? I as like dude you yelled out 3 f*^%£ numbers just be polite and do your job. The food was a 2. Burrito sucked and I was the only one that ate it from my family so I know I'm sick off of that... The pork tamale was actually decent. I'm still pissed about them not having at least a water pitcher out or some liquids available to customers. Okay, I love King Taco, but this location is a little wack. Ordering and pickup are often chaotic and inefficient. I can put up with that when the food is great. However... The one thing that's really bothering me right now is their strange aversion to putting salsa in their burritos. I noticed this on earlier visits, so when I went in for dinner today, I made sure the cashier understood I wanted the salsa roja inside my burrito. She looked at me like I was crazy and kept asking if that's really what I wanted. I'm so confused. Is it really that strange to want salsa inside my burrito? Finally she rang it up, and I went over to wait at the pickup counter. When I got my burrito, sure enough, no salsa inside. So bizarre. Luckily I grabbed some extra salsa on the side, but I'd really prefer the salsa was already inside. I know some people like to add salsa to their burrito as they go, but I don't like doing that. Can't go wrong with the tacos, though, so maybe I'll just stick to those from now on. Carnitas is my go-to meat. It's always fatty, juicy and delicious. I've found several of their other meats too dry for my taste. I live around the corner from here, so I'll keep coming back even with its issues.
