I am a fan of King Taco but not the newer locations. I think I've been to this location about three times. Its been fair. I can't tell if its because of Glendale or the older chains are just clearly better as in taste of food and ambiance. It could be the experiences that doesn't accompany with getting King Taco afterwards. In Pasadena we would get King Taco after visiting a couple of bars. If you want relatively quick and something convenient, it's a reliable spot to go to This location is pretty big since it has an additional dining room on the side, so it's great for big groups. It's also situated in Glendale, so it's a good spot to refuel after a day of shopping in the area I got a quesadilla and sope (both without meat). I have had some so-so reviews of food in the past, but I am not sure I have given a one star to an establishment based purely on food. If you are in the area, you may be better off going to Chipotle... or do it right and go further away from the Americana and hit TRUE local spots like El Tap or El Sauz... or food trucks... or even (and I hate to say it) at the Americana. Prices here have gone up, but even at 50% off, I would not want to put down the ingredients King Taco is using - not sure if all locations source from the same place. Nothing remarkable in a city renowned for Mexican-style cuisine. As an east-LA original for many years, King Taco has expanded to many parts of southern California. Menu items are very consistent. Everything from the Carne Asada to the Carnitas tastes alike from nearly all their locations leading me to believe there is a central factory that pumps out much of their menu. I'm not sure I'll be back as I saw the meat in heat warmers which made me wonder if it was from the day before... the meat was so soggy it made the tortilla soaked and fall apart with every bite. The chicken flautas were decent but they didn't taste like corn masa but more like corn flour. To their credit they're the only ones in the area that has rolled tacos on their menu.
