This grocery store was located across the street from the Hilton Garden Inn Union Station, so it was very convenient. Part of the Kroger family, this store had all the basic departments, including produce, prepared foods like sushi and fried chicken, rice, soups, snacks, dairy, etc. They had some self checkout lanes as well as some with cashiers ready to help. The prices were fair and they also ran many specials.

The parking here is super tight, one level garage. There was a considerable (at least 15 min) wait at the deli. There was only one employee actively assisting deli customers while 2 other employees appeared to be preparing food. Despite the parking and deli wait, it's a decent location. The store was pretty clean and well-stocked for Superbowl Sunday with average prices. The cashier and bagger were friendly at checkout. I'm not from the area so the extra cost for bags was unexpected but what can ya do? ‍

Small store but mighty on all that's on the shelf! And, the recently expanded vegetable section is awesome! Check out the Memorial Day beer display! My favorite King Soopers!

Spacious supermarket that seems to have just about anything and everything anyone can ever need at very reasonable prices even when items aren't on sale! Wandering around local supermarkets of places I go to when I'm on vacation is a hobby of mine, and king soopers didn't disappoint- kind of makes me want to ditch nyc and move to Denver.

Deli is always understaffed with no order. Normally 3-5 people in the background not helping customers. Avoid during lunch at all cost.

We came here for brunch on a Sunday morning, before heading to Coors Field to see an afternoon Rockies game. The market mainly consists of an indoor food court, with indoor and outdoor seating options. The crowd is mostly local. The vibe is casual. For our first visit, we were impressed with the food we got from Izzio Bakery, and the coffee we got from Crema Bodega. I have reviewed these separately.

There are a bunch of different places to check out inside, so everyone can grab exactly what they want and still sit together. Today, I specifically visited Call Your Mother, a Jewish deli, and Izzio Bakery. Atmosphere: Since I went right around the time they opened, the atmosphere was exactly what I needed. It was super laid-back and chill, making it the perfect place to get out of the house for a calm morning. As it gets later into the day and through the weekends, I know it gets very busy, but there is plenty of random seating throughout the hall and even some outdoor spots if you prefer. Parking: Parking is going to be street parking. Make sure you read the signs, but it is usually free. Even when the market is busy, I usually don't have to walk more than a block to get inside. So it is a very convenient location for the RiNo area. Service: The customer service throughout the market is great. At Call Your Mother, the cashier was very sweet, and they even text you when your food is ready. Over at Izzio Bakery, everyone is super kind and helpful while you're looking at their amazing pastry display. Even with a line, you're usually only waiting about 10 to 12 minutes for your items. Food: The food variety here is incredible. I tried the Sun City breakfast bagel sandwich from Call Your Mother and the hot honey was the perfect balance of sweet and spice on a toasted bagel. For a sweet treat, I went to Izzio Bakery for the Dulce de Leche Queen. The pastry case there looks like something out of a movie. The pastry itself was perfectly crisp on the outside with a delicious yellow vanilla cream and cinnamon on the inside. Overall Experience: Overall, I really enjoy coming here and trying new places. It is a fantastic destination for groups or just a solo morning out. Whether you want a savory breakfast bagel sandwich or a beautiful pastry, The Denver Central Market always hits the spot. I'll definitely be back to explore more.

There were a lot of people in line when the cashier stopped helping her customer and stood screaming at everyone that the line starts here and made everyone move over closer to her. As she was screaming people laughed at her several people left. about 3 people ahead of me a women put her 2 item on the counter and the cashier again screamed at her that she couldn't reach them. The customer moved her items closer she screamed at again that she couldn't reach them. Again she moved her water and cheese stick closer to her again, literally with 6-8 inches away from the cashier and handed her money. The cashier tossed her money back at her and said "I have a bad back, I work 8 hours a day I don't have to put up with your shit" This is where the rest of the people that were in line walked out. I am still laughing at the cashier.

I always find this location of NG clean. The employees are courteous and friendly. The parking has never been an issue as the lot has ample room for cars. With that said, it's a bit surprising to see the 3.5 star rating as of mid August of 2024. Today I found a delicious and delightful sparkling water. Zero calories, no added sugar but is so refreshing and flavorful. The 12oz cans were $1.98 (each). Not bad. I mostly get produce when I go to NG just like any other day, They always have the freshest veggies and fruits. The quality is something I can always count on. I also get water (refill.) Per gallon price for members (doesn't cost to become one) is $0.29 which is the lowest out of all the other grocery chains. Thanks for being around to provide us with our daily necessities.

(One day I waited for over 40 minutes just to check out.) Admittedly, most of my friends already made it clear I was crazy for continuing to frequent this store, but I feel pretty damn strongly about supporting the only grocery store in this neighborhood, so I persisted. Nevertheless, it became clear that the Safeway corporation was not respecting these employees by appropriately staffing the store, and I decided I would stop going entirely. Fast forward a few months, and the Safeway employees went on strike. I was pretty encouraged, supported the effort, and hoped for the best. After things were resolved, I decided to give the store a shot again, and pretty quickly it became clear that staffing the registers was still not a priority. Admittedly, I really don't understand how Safeway thinks this is a profitable maneuver--in order to spend money, consumers need to be able to check out. And guess what, if you're buying more than a few items, a self-checkout is not workable. But apparently this is the corporate game. I do want to give a shoutout to the stalwart employees who have persisted despite these tribulations. I'm always happy when I see Terri at the register or Bryan at the meat counter. Employees like them make all the difference here. I just wish they had better support.
