great prices, good fish, and cute interior. It looks like all of their rolls are continually marked down 50%, which is probably a marketing tactic but the resulting price is totally worth it. I think we paid $28 for the three rolls we got. The salmon lovers was SO good with the little lemon slice, the mango one was a little too overwhelmingly mango as I wasn't expecting the mango piece to be that big. Only issue was that it took a very long time to get the food, but that might be attributed to how popular this spot is getting! (and also it was valentine's day when I went )

It's definitely a HIDDEN GEM! It's not a lot of seating but one you get in you're feel comfortable and welcomed. My server is so polite and knowledgeable about the menu. I ordered spicy salmon, SOS and spicy crunch. Also with miso sou

SUCH a good deal!!! The salmon combo comes with 5 (HUGE pieces of) salmon nigiri, and I opted for the salmon roll (also packed to the brim with salmon!). The salmon quality is spectacular, its juicy and fresh, with no fishy taste- all for an amazing price. My pick-up order was ready in 10-15 minutes, and they were so nice and let us sit at one of the tables during the dinner rush while we waited. The vibes in the restaurant seemed lively, yet cozy and familiar. I definitely am looking forward to coming back and dining at the restaurant, but sushi to-go from here is too good!! I'm drooling looking at my own picture, and I literally Just ate it.

Place is small, I went based on reviews. It was packed had a college kid vibe. We had to wait to be seated but there was no place to wait so we stood outside. Appetizers are small in size. 5 small tempura shrimp pieces. They were good. Could've had more flavor. Musubi was one piece. It was tasty. A lil sweet. Wish it was 2 pieces so it could be shared as an appetizer. Son had beef udon noodles. He enjoyed the dish. Great serving size not too little or too much. BF had the 12 piece sashimi he enjoyed very much. I had the Phoenix rising roll. It was good, little spicy. I will probably try something else next time. Service was not great. Never had our water filled. We felt a little rushed when ordering.

The manager on site today was extra attentive. Stopped by during busy lunch rush hour and king Salmon delivered again. This sushi spot is a go to for anyone in the vicinity. Prices are reasonable and food is always delicious. Vibes are energetic and Asian decor helps complete the experience. Can't wait to be back again.

A quiet spot ideal for a quick lunch. Super fresh raw salmon every single time I've been here. Friendly and efficient service. Super chilled lounge and jazz playing in the background.

Still my go to for sushi to go! Order online for 50% off rolls! Food is often ready before the pick up time.

Cute spot! Nice place to steal away for an out of office lunch with your work BFF. I can also imagine that it's a vibe at night too. It gave funky hole in the wall vibes. I carried out my order. The wait staff was pleasant and hospitable answering all of my first timer questions with patience and a smile. The rolls were delicious neat and well dressed. Even my husband was impressed. My veggie tempura was hot and delicious. I would come back next time I visit AZ.

Love the sushi: texture, taste profile, clean cut, fresh and made to order just how you want it! Quality is kept in tact, whilst beating competition with their pricing! PERFECT spot to visit for ANY occasion! Can't wait for a larger location! DELICIOUS, can't rave enough and the ambience is so relaxed. Can't wait to dine in again and again, I'm a loyal 'regular!' Picture was sub par, sorry- I was too busy devouring my scrumptious role & hot sake bombs!

Came by for dinner on a Monday night. Pretty busy as only a few tables were left. Menu had plenty options to choose from. Decided on a few appetizers, several nigiri, and the Thomas roll. Our orders came out quickly and left me impressed. My favorites were the seared nigiri and the Thomas. If you're looking for a good quick meal and great service, give this place a try.

After an appointment yelped for a sushi restaurant close by and saw the 4.7 rating so had very high hopes. As always, I started off with miso soup which was very flavorful but salty. All the rolls are 50 percent off but for example, regular price for a spicy tuna roll is $12, so 50 percent off of that is more in line especially as the rolls are on the smaller side. Felt like that was a gimmick to get people in. We ordered a combo of 7 pieces of nigiri and California roll $22- substituted with spicy tuna roll. They forgot to substitute so ended up getting an extra spicy tuna roll. The nigiri was fine, but the California roll was very salty and the spicy tuna roll was skimpy. It was just meh. All the specialty rolls are 50 pct off of $19.50. We had a really difficult time deciding as most seemed to be fried and heavily sauced. We chose Volcano Scallop roll- crab topped with spicy scallop, baked with spicy mayo, massago and eel sauce. This roll was incredibly salty and there was way too much mayo. Also ordered Spicy Geisha- spicy tuna, cucumber topped with salmon, jalapeño, massago and hot sauce. It was ok, nothing special. One of the chefs and a server brought us real wasabi on the house which was very nice. Service was fine but the food just was not satisfying. What really stood out was how salty everything was. Unfortunate as I had much higher hopes based on the rating.

Pretty good sushi for one being located at a strip mall. I was visiting from Seattle and wanted to grab a quick bite. I had like 4 other places I wanted to try but settled on King Salmon since it was down the street from my friends place and I wouldnt have to be outside for that long haha. I order the Thomas roll, Pacific roll and 3 pieces of seared salmon. I was so impressed by the seared salmon. It was double the amount of fish to rice. They do pretty well with the rice ratio for the rolls. I didn't find them too heavy. Fish were fresh. I didn't dine in so I cant speak for service but the staff I picked up from was really nice. Will definitely tell my friend to come here to grab food!

I came here for dinner with my husband. Our hotel is just 2 miles away. I was not too hungry so I just ordered some edamame and a salmon and avocado hand roll. My husband ordered some tuna nigiri and salmon nigiri and the SOS roll. Everything was absolutely amazing! So delicious! The prices are great too! The only issue I had was there was a party of 7 kids (in their 20's) sitting next to us who were SO LOUD! The girl sitting next to me would laugh so loud it literally hurt my ear. The acoustics are not good there. We could barely hear one another over the noise of the kids. The only other issue I had was the waitress's/ hostess (she was behind the counter, sat us, and took our order and brought out our food) forgot my edamame. She took our order, said "I'll go grab that edamame for you now" and then came back 15 minutes later with our meals. So I reminded her about the edamame and then she brought it out. They were pretty busy for a Wednesday night. I would definitely return. Hopefully we will have a quieter time than last night.

We arrived a little after 5pm and the restaurant was mostly empty. But in the next 20 minutes it filled up and there was open sitting at the bar only. The mood was initially quiet but quickly turned more up beat as the restaurant filled and pop rock music was playing. We asked our waiter a few questions about a few of their rolls and he was very helpful with guidance and recommendations. We ordered Salmon Lemon, Spicy Tuna, Salmon Avocado Maki and California rolls to share for two. This restaurant uses purple rice rather than traditional white rice. This was the first time we have tried a sushi roll made with purple rice and we both loved it. It added a nutty flavor and hearty texture. Purple rice is similar to wild rice and far nutritionally superior to white rice with more antioxidant and fiber. Shortly after we ordered we were served a potsticker dish. I mentioned that we did not order the item and were informed the appetizer was complementary. We thanked the server and tasted the dish. The potstickers were nicely pan fried and had a great crust and flavorful chicken filling. Delicious! About five minutes later our rolls were delivered. All were fresh tasting and delicious. Our favorite was the Salmon Lemon roll. We loved the pop the lemon added. Honorable mentions to the Spicy Tuna roll, very well done, excellent balance of heat and flavors. We truly enjoyed our dining experience and look forward to returning. Highly recommended for a quality sushi experience!

I was dining solo and had no trouble finding a seat since there's plenty of seating throughout the restaurant. That said, I was surprised by how quickly the place started filling up after opening, which is always a good sign. One of the first things I noticed was the large sushi bar and being able to watch the sushi chefs at work. There were five of them, which I took as a sure sign this place gets busy. I ordered the spider roll, salmon avocado roll, and steamed edamame. Everything was fresh, well-prepared, and exactly what I was hoping for. One unique thing about Kodo is their rice blend. They use a combination of black and white rice, which gives the sushi a distinctive purple color. It's not something you see every day, and it definitely makes their sushi stand out. I also have a food allergy, and the staff handled it carefully and without any issues. They offer fountain drinks, which I always prefer. And I liked their plastic to-go container. It kept my leftovers from getting soggy by next day. Easy five stars.

The tuna and salmon pieces were a little fishy, maybe not the freshest, but it was also quite late (~10pm) so I wasn't expecting too much. The pasta sauce itself lacked flavor and just tasted like blended down tomatoes. If the pasta had a scoop of the rib sauce too, that would be absolutely insane!! For dessert we didn't have a choice and it was just the miso caramel cheesecake. Now that is some of the best cheesecake I've had in an incredibly long time. I don't taste the miso flavor in the caramel besides the salty sweetness of it but that combo was perfect, especially with the homemade candied pecans. I don't know if the cheesecake was left out or purposefully like that but I love how when the cheesecake was served it wasn't cold! Usually cheesecake is served really cold and kind of like a cream cheese brick you have to cut into it with your fork. But this was barely chilled so the cheesecake was not super cold and it just melts in your mouth. It's so smooth, best dish of the night hands down. This place was very nice and great location. Everything is clean and a great ambience. There's a bar you can sit at when you walk in before you go to the tables. I do think that every side smaller table should automatically have the table lamp for light because it was just too dark to see the menu from my perspective. It looks like great lighting in the pictures because the phone took it in night mode and corrected the lighting but... it's a bit dark and I saw that they do have those modern battery table lamps so I think every table against the wall should have it. Now onto why it's only 4 stars. The service was so beyond incredibly slow. I kid you not we waited 35min at least before our first dish was served and it wasn't even the appetizer, it was the entree rib pasta. You could tell just how short staffed they were and you could hear that there's only 1 sushi chef 1 regular chef and that's it for the kitchen. I don't know who is managing the shift schedule, maybe it's because we came on Memorial Day, but this type of service is not acceptable. I don't take this on the employees at all. They were so incredibly nice and apologetic and doing the best they can and even the front of house was now bussing tables to help out!!! Because they're so busy, I had to keep reminding different waiters for small things like ginger for my sushi 3x, refill on my water, and he almost said we're good to go without paying the check but we didn't even receive our cheesecake dessert yet OR paid the bill. In total it took us 2 hours from sitting down, ordering within 5min, and waiting and waiting and waiting to eat... inexcusable on management
