After my experience today I will never go back. I will instead happily drive an extra hour in the opposite direction and pay a higher price to shop at Parkerville because the experience is night and day. I had specifically taken the day off work to visit because ML Condon is only open Mon-Fri. This AM I called to ensure what I needed was available. When I arrived, they in fact did not have it in stock. Allegedly (and what seems like a convenient excuse) someone just came in and purchased the last of it. The manner this news was conveyed was that it was my problem not theirs. Sure, it can happen. Respectfully I asked for them to deliver it to me once it arrived and they said only for a hefty charge. I questioned that given the circumstances and a manager came flying in like a bat out of hell. It was not the fact that they would charge me that was the problem, it was HOW he conveyed the message that sealed why I will never go back. Consider trying some empathy and working with customers to find solutions.

I recently went to M.L Condon lumber as a novice, hobbyist woodworker. I wanted to look at…read moredifferent species of wood and buy some scraps. The lumber yard was huge, very organized and had a massive amount of different types of wood. The guys in the lumber yard were extremely kind and helpful. Pedro was particularly helpful and knowledgeable. He explained the pricing of the wood, and was able to help me pick the best species for my projects. I had a lot of questions, and he patiently answered all of them. He even helped me go through the scrap pile (which was very reasonably priced) to find the best pieces for me. I would definitely recommend going to M.L Condon for all your lumber needs, as they selection is broad and the staff is very helpful, knowledgeable, and patient.

Not only were they about $1,000 less expensive than the other companies we looked at, they were very friendly and accommodating. When our kitchen cabinets and our master bathroom vanity were installed and it was time for the countertops, they were able to come measure, and create the perfect countertops in less than a week! And I say perfect countertops because everything was AMAZING! They were able to cut one piece to fit around the corner!! Everything fit exactly to measurements! And they even matched up the veins in the quartz so that it looks like it flows from the island across to the wall cabinets! But the master vanity is the most incredible of all. We ordered a backsplash with it for the 2 sides with a wall, and they surprised us by matching the backsplash piece to exactly match the countertop in terms of the stone's patterns!!! We have been in the home improvement business for over 40 years and have never seen that kind of perfectly matching stone before! We HIGHLY recommend using Putnam Granite & Stone Fabrication, Inc at 100 Buckshollow Rd in Mahopac, NY!

He…read morecalled them a few days later and they said the engine was toast and it would cost $1500 to replace it!! They recommended scrapping it and they would be happy to scrap it for him for a $100 fee. My son slept on it and today went there with a rented pickup to get the mower back. The workers met him outside and said we thought you wanted us to junk it for you. When my son said no, they ran back into the shop and a manager came out. The manager then quickly said my mechanic worked on it last night and it's almost working now. It'll cost about 600. And it will be good as new. Kind of contradictory to what the staff said when he first got there. From junking to rebuilding it. My son then OK drove down a block and turned around because it just didn't sit right with him, how they changed their mind from junk to gold and told them that he wanted it back. They then gave him a bill for $300 for work he never authorized ( remember the staff told him to junk it) and he saw that a new battery was listed on the bill. He lifted up the seat and saw that it was the same old battery he had on it. Make a long story short this shop reeks of deception I wouldn't spend a dime there. I recommended that he called the Better Business Bureau and that's what he's going to do. To go from we recommend junking it, for a $100 fee, to "oh no don't take it, we can fix it " when he canceled the junk it order and came to pick it up, then billing him for a new battery that they never installed, we'll you don't need to be a detective to see something isn't on the level. The place doesn't even rate 1 star.

My wife goes into the store. She had on a long winter coat. She's always cold. It's a medical condition. There are no inside pockets in that long winter coat that she wore open because then she started getting hot. She was overdressed, which happens to her when she goes into stores they don't have the air-conditioning set to 60. This was literally yesterday. She went out the day before and was freezing to death because of the windchill. She did not feel the need to explain this to the men that worked there. Unbelievable! She bought some batteries and was carrying them around the store. A man whose name we remember, we don't need to mention his name takes them away from her and says why don't you leave them on the counter? She she knew for sure that he thought she was some kind of thief because she was wearing a long winter coat. We all have weather whiplash. This man would not admit that he thought my wife was going to shop lift these batteries. She said she didn't see any sign saying do not carry merchandise around the store. She also did not notice any baskets one can carry the merchandise around it. Then the man continued to argue with my wife about how long the surge protector cord should be, and my wife kept saying what she wanted, and he kept arguing with her manslaining to her that she needed a long cord when she did not need a longer cord and we have very good reasons that we do not need a longer cord! My goodness! Prices are not cheap, they did not tell us the truth over the phone and then this happens. So not so happy;will avoid in future. Then she had to ask for a receipt. We hate that; a receipt should be given automatically.
