Spot the tofu....it's not there lol
    Kristipher L.

Worst experience I've ever had with a Chinese place. When my order arrived, my vegetable and tofu was missing the tofu. I called to let them know I was missing my tofu from my dinner and was more then happy to work with them to resolve the issue. I was yelled at, told that I ordered it wrong and they wanted me to bring them the vegetables back. With COVID running ramped I was curious what they would be doing with food that had been in my house, and if they would send it to the next person or reuse it. No wonder why this place barley has 3 stars. AVOID AT ALL COSTS

Good food. No complaints. Crab rangoons a must. Pass on the fried shrimp. Got the chicken chow mein and was as good as most.

I placed the order online and went to pick it up. The inside looked like the place wasn't even open. No one standing at the counter. If not for the fact that the front door was open and there was a dim light in the back, I might have thought I was getting scammed. The portions were large for the price. Unfortunately, some of the dishes were really underseasoned and dry. I like my pad Thai really dry, but this was so dry it was hard to portion out the noodles when I got home. The massaman curry was full of veggies but a little bit bland. The rice for the fried rice was a good quality rice, though, not the cheaper Western rice and not cooked to mush either. There used to not be too many Thai places around here, so this place might have been notable for the great value if not for the new establishments that offer tastier and higher quality Thai.

I saw the chef in the back prepping chicken while listening to Chinese radio. It was pretty hot today and there were fans and no AC. But after I sat down to eat the lady closed the door and turned on the AC for me. My lunch total was $10.85 with tax came with soup & salad. The salad was iceberg lettuce with spring mix & cucumbers with a miso carrot dressing. I also got 2 spring rolls! Which I thought were crunchy toppings for the soup at first. I wouldn't spend money on ordering the spring rolls as they're frozen, but definitely worth it if they're free. The chicken coconut soup was a bit bland. But the chicken tastes fresh, and the piece of mushroom and fresh cilantro tasted very nice. The noodles had very nice caramelization. I like how there were very generous about the portion of vegetables and protein in the dish. Usually places cheap out by having the dish 90% carbs. And they put like 3 pieces of broccoli in your dish. But this noodle dish was like 60% carbs, and 40% vegetables and protein, felt healthy. My dish was very simple. Wide flat noodles, broccoli, egg, and fried tofu. There was very little sauce so the ingredients could really shine. It was kind of oily, but what are you going to do, it's fried noodles! Mostly a takeout place though. I was the only one eating in the take out place. Despite the fact that they have 6 tables. The place was pretty clean, no flies everywhere, and not super dusty. I can tell they clean daily and do a good job. The lady even came over the picked up my salad container when I was done with it while eating. They have good service with a smile. It might not look like much from the outside, but give this place a try!

A friend invited us to Khamdee and we figured it would be similar to all others we've tried. Well, the food here absolutely blew us out of the water. Everything that came out was unbelievable. The food is absolutely authentic, fresh and delicious. The chef and kitchen staff are creating miracles with every dish. We had chicken satay, spring rolls and some soups for appetizers. All were fabulous but the Tom Yum soup in comparison to any other I've tasted was out of this world. It's chock full of vegetables and packed with flavor. Our table ordered a variety of noodle dishes and everything was amazing. The kitchen takes time to make everything taste great but also look beautiful, they really take pride in their food. Nico our server was sweet and friendly, front of house is a bit loud and abrasive but who cares when the food is that good?! We will return again and again and are so happy to have found this place. If you're looking for real authentic and delicious Thai food, this is your spot.

I don't understand why, when you order a dish like…read moreeggplant with onions and peppers, the only option provided is "vegetables and tofu"--instead of just tofu or adding more of the vegetables that already exist on the plate but it apparently serves as an excuse to dump every cheap filler vegetable under the sun into the container. I ordered the Spicy Eggplant Basil because I wanted eggplant and tofu. I did not want a container overflowing with squash, cabbage, carrots, and bok choy. It's incredibly disappointing to spend $25 only to receive maybe five small pieces of tofu and four small pieces of eggplant. It feels like a blatant attempt to cut costs by padding the meal with "gross" fillers, and I ended up throwing most of it away. If I wanted a generic vegetable medley, I would have ordered one. Get it together. I will never be ordering from here again. There was absolutely no one in the restaurant. Completely overpriced, overrated, and underwhelming.

It is cute enough for lunch or a low key dinner and the staff was attentive and checked on us throughout the meal. They do have happy hour until 4 on Saturdays with $3 off cocktails which is a nice perk. I had the margaritas and they were actually really good and made strong so I will give them that. For food I ordered the whole fried snapper with basil. The fish itself was fresh and fried really well. Texture was great and it was cooked properly. The basil sauce just did not have much flavor for me which was disappointing. The fish deserved a better sauce. We also had the chicken pad see ew. The noodles were soft and cooked nicely but the dish was much sweeter than I am used to for Thai food and very heavy on sodium. It was a little overpowering. Overall the drinks and service were the highlights for me. The food was just not memorable and for Thai I expect more depth of flavor.

Tucked into a row of small local businesses (a rarity these days on LI, the land of huge strip…read moremalls with big box stores), sits Thai Station, a humble little restaurant that offers up a pretty big menu of Thai staples as well as some less easier to find dishes, like my favorite, Tao Hu Hor (bean curd sheet with spinach and mushrooms). What makes it even better? The nicest service that you can imagine. I know they have a huge takeout customer base, judging by the constant dings coming in through the computer and the restaurant was empty when my father and I walked in for a late lunch/early AF dinner (5:30 pm). I always prefer eating at a restaurant to takeout/delivery and although the space is pretty basic, it's well-decorated and comfortable. I didn't expect them to have alcohol, but they do have beer and wine, not a huge list or anything, and I wasn't drinking anyway, but nice to know. My dad got his favorite: massaman beef curry and I got the Tao Hu Hor. It came out quickly, which was good as I was on a time crunch and needed to get back to work. I knew as soon as I laid eyes on my food, it would be good and I was correct. Gorgeous little bundles of veggies smothered in black bean sauce, one of my favorite flavors and in addition to the bean curd skin that wraps around piles of spinach and mushrooms, there's also slices of bean curd, so this is a plant protein powerhouse dish. And absolutely delicious. My father almost lost his mind over how good the sauce is and I think he may consider ordering it in the future (he's a devout meat eater so this is unusual, heh). I'm so glad to have a new LI discovery. We'll be putting this on regular rotation when I'm in town.
