My husband and I went to Kim's based on a recommendation of a family member. While my husband's technician was pleasant and performed superior work, mine was the opposite. Despite my efforts to be conversant, he was non-communicative, indicating what I should do only by moving my feet and hands in the desired direction. His service was quick and perfunctory, while paying little attention to the callouses on my feet. This same technician suddenly found his voice when checking us out, however, and informing us what we owed the salon. When I got home and inspected my "manicure", all my cuticles were ragged. I hope you have a better experience if you go. We will not be returning to Kim's. read more

Editing to add: there are never any prices posted so it seems like the text just make up prices depending on what's convenient for them. One time I went and a dip removal and fresh dip powder manicure was $50. Today I went to just get dip removed and manicure my nails and it was $30. He did not even give me a full manicure, just cut and file - no lotion or cuticle oil or anything. read more

People were nice. I have to express my dislike for the polish coming off on the same day. So irritating. I've been to this salon more then once and i am not impressed. The gel is so hard to get off, the nails fall off so easily and the polish never stays. I am mostly speaking for the manicures, i have never gotten a pedicure here and never wish too. Where do I even begin?! I called and made an appointment for 5:15 and they were very adamant that they could fit me in, okay cool! Upon arriving, my nail tech was so pushy. Hardly gave me anytime to pick out the color I wanted, which ladies you know this is a tough decision. She escorted me back to her chair where she proceeded to botch my nails. My nails were so short and crooked that it brought me to tears. To top it off she made me bleed. I ended up taking the nail file out of her hand and doing it myself. I have been going to Kim's for 9 months now. I've only had two good experiences with the owner. Yesterday I went in an had long healthy nails that just needed a fill and a little bit of a cutdown. The woman who did my nails was all over the place dropping things and stopping every minute to change her tool like she didn't know what she was doing. I always get dip and they file it down to look natural, this lady did not file at all she just applied the tip and top coat and it was extremely thick and lumpy. I thought by the end maybe she would fix it but after she told me I was finished I looked at my fingers and told her it was terribly done and I can't leave like this. She got angry and stormed off to another client so my usual nail tech came and apologized and fixed it. It was unacceptable how they wanted me to leave there with my nails like this. read more

I was referred to this place by my mother who visit them regularly. I called 4 hours earlier and made an appointment with a woman for 5:30 pm with Randy. I showed up early for my appointment, picked my color, and waited patiently. When Randy finished up his appointment, at about 5:40 pm, I made no complaint, I only asked if I could also have a pedicure. I was told not at this time because he had another client coming. After beginning my fill-in, Randy informed me that his 6:00 pm client came in and began rushing thru my service and explaining that they shouldn't have booked me during this time. Randy eventually told me that he could not finish my service, despite the crookedly placed acrylic nail, and never shaping or filing my nails. I felt like I was a hindrance to Randy and although I recognize that the scheduling was not of his doing, it was more inconvenienced that my service was only half complete. I was informed that I could wait until someone could see me, but with 3 members and 5 people waiting, I was not willing to remove any chances of getting my nails done satisfactorily. I ended up paying for the service completed but I ended up going down the street. I am sure Randy does good work but my over all treatment was discouraging enough I won't be back. read more

This place was probably one of the best salons I've bet been too. VERY CLEAN environment. Well organized stations. Fair pricing. My manicure was your classic manicure. It was 12 bucks. I also got a classic pedi which was 25 bucks but French tips are 5 bucks extra which is weird being that you're using less nail polish. Overall, the service was great! Such a Friendly staff. I left super relaxed and they didnt hassle me with up sales. I gave this four stars because although I was highly satisfied, I've gotten better French pedicures at a cheaper price elsewhere. read more

I have been a loyal customer of Kim's Nails and Andy for years. I attempted to make an appointment and was told that Andy was on "vacation". I told them that I could wait until he returned. At that point, I was told that they didn't know when he would be back. So, I scheduled an appointment with Randy, because he is great too. When I arrived, it was very clear that Andy was gone. All of his family photos that hung on the walls are gone and 2 new people sit in the front 2 seats. The new people tried to give me the "bait and switch" by telling me that Randy was too busy to do my nails. They strongly insisted that I try one of them. I refused several times and they continued to insist that I should try them. I finally told them that I wanted to reschedule my appointment with Randy for some other time. They then said that they would take over Randy's current customer and that he would be available in 10 minutes if I would wait. 35 minutes later (over an hour past my original appointment time).....I finally got my nails done by Randy. Why were all of the lies necessary??? I like Randy's work...but I don't trust an organization that is soooo willing to lie to its customers just for an immediate buck. So sad! I suspect that many of the regular employees are gone. I only recognized a few faces. No one seemed happy. read more

I used to go to this salon to see Van every other week. She was phenomenal as a nail technician. I heard they moved so I decided to go in anyway. The salon has a new management. My nail technician (whom I had never met before) was horrible and I had to ask her to fix nails here and there. She seemed very lazy and had zero interest in doing a good job. I wanted French for my toes and she insisted on regular polish (I guess French was too much work). All my nails are uneven on feet and hands and cuticles were not properly trimmed, thanks to her. Came here on a whim and while my nails look amazing (just needed a fill and two repairs), I have to deduct 2 stars for them not using a sterilizing oven to properly clean their tools. Luckily I didn't have to have any used on me but it's unsanitary to not do so. That's how people get fungus and infections. I won't be going back just because of that. Barbicide is not enough to clean tools. Especially if you don't change it out often. read more

My fault for not asking but $30.00 extra for gel $20.00 for your pedi and $10.00 . My personal opinion is that it's overpriced but we shall see how long it last to see if it was worth the extra money. read more

Each time that I have been there she goes out of her way to make sure that everyone is happy with their experience there. I visited this place because it's close to my house. They greeted me at the door and made me wash my hands, then asked me to pick out a color. I was a little reluctant on still getting a pedicure because all the nail polish bottles looked like they were less than half way filled, dirty and no organization what's so ever. The variety of colors were bland lots of nudes. I was looking for a blue but they only had two that were no where near what I wanted so I chose a purple instead. The lady who did my toes was rough and rushing, never used her words just aggressively grabbed my foot or tapped on it to hurry. Every time the door opened all the techs would look at the door and sigh/ roll their eyes. I understand it was a Saturday but why not require appointments instead of quick jobs. This is now my go-to nail salon. I typically come in for a gel manicure and a pedicure every other week. The pedicures alone are worth five stars. They give a fantastic foot massage - not one of those crappy, terrible ones where you can tell they are just going through the motions. It's only $35 with the callus removal and is truly relaxing. They also do a really, great through job with the gel manicures. I often have problems with peeling (see other reviews) but my manicures really last as long as I'd like them to from there. They do a very good job trimming my crazy cuticles. The only area I'm not 100% on them for is that I've seen better polish selections out there. But their's is not at all *bad*, I've just seen better. read more

Place is clean, they get a new set of tools for every customer, spa chairs are very comfortable, ambiance is great. Roomy with high ceilings, you don't feel the smell of the chemicals. The two times I've gone to this place (spaced by almost a year) I got a lady who was very rough when cutting my nails, and I would express I was in pain and she would not care to be more gentle. Pedicures are supposed to be enjoyable. First time I went there I had this experience, the second time I went there I happened to be close by and decided to give them another chance, not sure if it was the same lady or not, but I felt the same way. Not gentle, not personable, not even one smile and she was way too rough. I was in pain and terrified. My nails look good but it was not the relaxing experience I was hoping to get. Same lady did my eyebrows, not great. The eyebrows were shaped well but not cleaned well. I think if you were to get someone else you may have a different experience but it's too much of a coincidence I got the same experience almost one year apart. Price was average. read more
