I've had two experiences here, one great and one terrible. I came in for a pedicure a few months ago and honestly had one of the most detailed pedicures ever. The cleaning up of the nail beds and cuticles and the massage were incredibly thorough. So when I needed to have dip powder taken off, I trusted this salon to do it properly. They did not. Despite me asking for my nails to be soaked (because sometimes the drill is a little overzealous) and the technician agreeing to do that, instead she used the drill file. At first I thought she was just roughing up the top layer before doing the soaking, but she kept going and pretty much tore up my finger nails, which are now split and peeling and will have to grow out. That's on me as I should have stopped her. But I trusted her to know what she was doing given my past experience. I will not be returning. read more

They are the absolute best! Trish, her husband and Kim truly do a perfect job. I always get my gel mani and pedi there.

This rating is for the lady who did my regular pedicure. I had to constantly remind her the water was cold, and the massage I got was a waste. She barely touched my feet in regards to massage. My feet are not that bad looking nor are they crusty to get this type of massage. She did take her time to polish and clean up polish . I will not return unless Trish is doing both my nails and feet. Trish is very good with nails. Basic polish and basic designs only here. Her daughter polished my nails well. I went here only because my normal nail technician had emergency. (She is in another review) Parking: Was easy to find on a weekend. Inside Environment: Clean with light music. Two Pedicure Chairs downstairs and three upstairs.Five nail work stations. Small snacks are for sale. Two chairs for anyone waiting . The bathroom downstairs is very small and was clogged. I used upstairs bathroom which was operable and bigger. read more

They are great! Fixed a botched job by another nail salon with fantastic attention to detail. I'm coming back.

I was a walk in and they saw me right away. Standard pedicure was $27. They have two pedicure stations on the ground level, and three upstairs. Each chair is separate from the others and had its own massage control. Parking is easy since it's in a little strip mall. The technician was fantastic. He was meticulous and thoughtful about the whole thing. I could tell that he was paying attention and intent on doing a good job. I'll go back, but I'll bring my own polish next time. This place was FABULOUS! I read a few reviews & went in today! David gave me a mani & pedi & his massages on both legs & arms almost put me in a catatonic state of nirvana. Not only was the massaging awesome, he did a fabulous & thorough job on my finger & tie nails! Kim did my eyebrows which was almost a unibrow (not really but almost! HA!) she did a fabulous thorough job with little or no pain from the waxing! I am HOOKED! This place is WONDERFUL! THEY ALSO DO FACIALS which I am totally on board with! Can't wait to try! Didn't want to leave the edgewater area for my nails so I decided to give J&S a try. I saw their advertisements for new pedicure chairs and I was sold, lol. When I went in I didn't have a wait, but there weren't many people working. Trish did my nails and Kim did my feet. I was actually very impressed with my services and have been trying to go back. When I called back a few times, Trish or Kim were booked and I haven't been back to try anyone else. read more

I just recently moved to the area and am very picky about where I go and who does my nails. This is the first time I have ever taken the time to sit down and write a review - that - is how good this place is. I have gone each time and sat down with Nancy. She is wonderful!! The first time I went in she was so nice, and very accommodating, and she listened intently as I told her the few requirements I had for when I get my nails done. As we sat down she asked me about myself and we laughed as we talked about work and relationships! When she was done my fill in and pedicure I was so impressed! She had done it EXACTLY how I asked. She also went in and changed the nail shape to fix my nail correctly and they were transformed. This is the only place I will ever go to get my nails done, ever, ever again. Period. Along with the amazing service and quality work, they are so reasonably priced it is not even a joke. I almost called her a liar when she said the price for a pink & white fill in. Normally - to anyone reading this who actually gets their nails done often - it costs between 45-70 dollars for a pink and white fill in... here you can get it for under 40!! If you are new to the area or in need of a new salon you must, must, MUST try this place, you will not be sorry! And ask for Nancy! P.S. Gel French color change for only $22! They were open even on Easter and took me in immediately. My nails look great!!

Do NOT go here. I walked in (9 months pregnant) No AC, it smelled, the stations were dirty, and I was the first and only customer of the day. I asked for a gel soak off and a regular manicure. The rude woman didn't even sit down to take care of me, she loomed over me as if I was a distraction. I was sweating bullets. I paid her for soaking off my gel nails ($8) and left. The place was filthy and the customer service was horrible. I still have bits of gel stuck to my nail. I would have said something if I wasn't about to have a heat stroke. Horrible place. Currently en route to Pearl Nails up the street. Same prices and way better service and atmosphere. read more

I love J&S Nail Design. Connie and Steve, the owners, are so nice. I've tried many places in Edgewater and have to stick with J&S. When I get my nails filled, Steve takes the time to clip the edges off so that they won't break off easily, which a lot of other places don't do. They also do a great job at eyebrows, and my mom wants a facial from Connie every xmas and birthday. read more
