Consequently last time i did gel manicure it did not last 7 days and my nails broken and is continuously breaking they damaged my nails and I am praying to find another place in Annapolis that they can help me to fix. I've tried my best to give them the benefit of the doubt by going back again after I had a terrible gel manicure done. After I had a poor gel experience (blue nail pic) I decided to give it another try with a dip manicure and with a different nail tech. They leave polish on your skin, shape the nail poorly, and completely miss spots of the nail all together. Unfortunately the dip manicure was even worse. I had nice long nails and simply asked for the nail tech to trim them. Instead they cut, filed, and and drilled the nails down to stubs. Again, polish was just left on my skin with no attempts to fix the issue. She didn't even cut my cuticles or do any type of nail care. I think the photos speak for themselves. Talk about Sunday Scaries! Don't waste your $ here. read more

Just moved here. Made an appointment, they took me on time and completely the gel manicure in 30 mins. This place is no frills. If you want to be in and out but also a very nice job come here. It is quicker than most with the massage but they had people back to back so it seems as though they won't spend extra time. I typically love this nail salon and have an only good experiences until this most recent visit. My nail shape isn't what I requested some nails are almond some are oval, one hand is significantly longer than the other. The polish design I requested was solid colors but the technician said She couldn't do it or seemed uninterested in doing it because it was 5 different colors (one per nail). I asked for a different design that she has done before and it just looked sloppy. Luckily I have all of the tools at home to reshape and remove my polish so I can have exactly what I want, it's just frustrating to make requests and them not be executed the way you'd like. I'm not sure who I saw today but I'll only be scheduling with Ivy now, she is literally the best! read more

I came here on a whim after reading a ton of positive reviews - I even made an appointment well in advance. The man who I was put with barely spoke to me, aside from asking "what shape" and "what color". I am not much of a talker anyway - so it's not a huge deal. However - my nails are super thick, and do not follow the natural curve of my nail.. they're kind of bumpy and odd.. the underside is jagged and seems almost unfiled.. he just didn't take enough care to file them enough. I had tips put on on June 1, by June 4 the gel polish was already peeling... Friday (the 15)th I am about to go for a fill and I literally cannot wait another second. My polish has almost completely peeled off some of my nails, and some are incredibly thick. Do not go to Lux nail bar and waste your money, I am sure there are better places, such as nail candy shop in Columbia where nail techs actually know what they're doing, and you'll get a quality service for your money. read more

The nail tech did not file my nails how i asked her to multiple times and the gel was so incredibly thick as she continued to just blob it on my nails sloppily...i ended up going somewhere else - spending more money to get them fixed because i was getting them done for vacation. The gel also started chipping off all my nails (zoom into my thumb nail). Next time i'll stick with the nail salon i've been going to for over 5 years. Ladies, look no further.....This is the one you have been looking for. I am very clear and focused when it comes to how I would like my nails done. However, the norm in most salons is I bring a picture of my nails manicured the way I like (I highly recommend this to everyone) however the manicurist proceeds to shape them the way she/he prefers or is comfortable with. Tiffany has broken through this seemingly impossible barrier! I can honestly report this claim, as I have been to 10-20, possibly 30 different salons in the past 14 years (Eastern shore and Annapolis/ Washington DC area). Thank you is not enough. I saw this salon did SNS and had decent reviews and thought I would give it a shot! I have gotten SNS numerous times from a salon in downtown Annapolis. I have also watched videos and know how SNS should be applied. Lux is advertising on their website and brochure in the salon that they use SNS. If you are advertising SNS and charging $45 then customers should get SNS. Lux is using a knock off brand called Nugensis which you can buy online for $14. SNS can only be purchased by professionals with a license. I asked for SNS and got Nugensis. I had my nails done on Thursday evening and by Monday one had already popped off. I returned Monday and had that nail redone. Tuesday I had another one pop off and 4 other nails were lifting at the cuticle. I returned Wednesday to have 3 more done again. On my third return today, I asked why they were using Nugensis and not SNS. She lied and said it was SNS when she had the container in her hand. She also cut my cuticle on 3 fingers, you shouldn't leave a nail salon bleeding. She said I had thin skin. Nice excuse for not knowing what you are doing. I want a refund. I was scammed and paid $45 for SNS and did not get SNS. They wasted a lot of my time too! If I wanted nails that would pop off in 4 days I would have gone to Walmart. Buyer beware, I would go somewhere else. Also, if you return for a repair don't expect them to be nice to you. If you scam me, why are you giving ME attitude. read more

I was a walk in on a Monday afternoon and they were able to accommodate me within a few minutes. I knew I wanted to treat myself to a special pedi so I elected to do the Hotstone massage pedicure and a gel manicure. The pedicure was nice and relaxing and they automatically give you a complimentary bottle of water. I did see a wine bar section but not sure when they offer that. My tech was a young guy who was very gentle which was nice since I've had experiences where techs can be really aggressive while they are cleaning and digging into your cuticles. He was just as gentle on my hands even though my cuticles were falling apart and sensitive already. A different tech finished off with my gel mani and she was pretty nice. I absolutely LOVE how the colors came out! She did not miss a spot! Pricing was definitely reasonable and I will be a repeat customer. read more

I always get the dip powder because it lasts so long, but not everyone does a good job with it since the process is so specific and tedious. DEVOTED CUSTOMER TURNS INTO DISAPPOINTED CUSTOMER! Let me start off by saying that I don't like to post negative reviews. As a matter of fact, I've been coming here for almost a year and had a review of 5 stars ready to be posted for quite some time. Sophia, Tiffani and Ivy have been incredible. I thought they did such a wonderful job that I actually drove from Silver Spring out to Annapolis to have them do my nails! Mind you, my son lives out there but there were times my sole purpose for driving for an hour each way was to get my nails done here. I'm not sure what happened but several months ago they started acting like they were too busy for me, stopped doing my nails and began handing me off to other techs in the salon that have less experience or, well, to be honest, aren't as good. Some were very rough and some seemed to be in a big rush. I've tried very hard to be understanding and patient and always ALWAYS give at least a 20% tip but my last visit two weeks ago was my last visit to Lux Nails. I went in and asked for my usual pedicure and SNS nails and told them it was for a special occasion because my son was getting married. I had to get them done two weeks prior to the wedding because I was traveling for my job and wasn't going to have any addition time. They handed me off to a tech that I had never worked with before and, while she was sweet, her work was terrible. So much so that she couldn't even get my nails to dry correctly and they had to be corrected by someone else! Well within the first seven days, the nails started lifting! I barely had time to fix a couple of them before the wedding and had to deal with almost all of them lifting within two weeks! In the past, I've had SNS nails last upwards of three weeks or more, so imagine my extreme frustration and disappointment!! Needless to say, I will no longer be darkening their door and recommend the same for you. There are plenty of salons in Annapolis and I look forward to finding my new favorite! read more

Honestly they do great with manicures and pedicures! However staff is beyond rude and makes you feel like you're a huge inconvenience. Don't bother getting your eyebrows waxed here! They always rush and butcher the brows. Every time I leave here I still have loads of wax on my skin while getting rushed to leave. Even though they ruined my eyebrows, and made me feel unwelcome they still performed a service for me so of course I am going to tip, but it's super discouraging because they roll their eyes when you add the tip to a card versus cash. read more
