Walked in for a soak off today for my dip nails. The lady used a nail tip extension to pry off my nail polish, was very painful. I'm taking a break from getting my nails done because my hands are having a bad eczema breakout. If I wanted to rip to just rip them off, I could've done that myself. Then she cut my nails and filed them when I said I would just do it at home. I just want the polish soaked off. I left with one bloody finger. Then I went to pay and the lady at the front desk said a soak off was $25!!! I said 25$ for a soakoff and she smirked and said yes. Highway robbery. And way too expensive for the service provided. This review is for the dip manicure I got on July 3rd. I just moved to Annapolis and was searching for my new regular nail salon, having lived in Baltimore for the last 8 years. I really liked Jenna, who did my nails. However, two days after getting them done, three nails chipped at the top! By day five, four more chipped. They were also really thick (too many layers of dip?). As soon as I got back from my trip, I called to touch up my nails that were really bad. The girl who fixed them was really nice and I am happy with the touch up nails. However, the day after, the rest of my original nails chopped. They all chipped from the top, so I'm guessing they weren't sealed correctly. I am really disappointed and wish I didn't pay $70 total for this mess ($50 for the manicure + $10 tip + $10 tip for the girl who fixed some of my nails). Two stars for a good polish selection and for them taking my temperature upon arrival and everyone wearing masks. I wish this worked out better as I live less than 5 minutes away. read more

Update. I went back to get my nails done again, and this time got matching colors. Great. Got them done Wednesday. She didn't push back my cuticles, so it looked like I needed a fill from the time I left. Friday, one of my nails was lifted and peeled right off. I went in Monday to get it fixed as I had a busy weekend. The owner fixed it - she did a great job as far as I can tell. Today is Wednesday. 1 week. My nails DEFINITELY need a full and half of them are lifted and peeling. I don't have trouble with gel polish and can usually keep polish on for 3 weeks.... I won't be back. :( I came in without an appointment and asked for a pedicure and gel manicure. They kindly obliged on such a busy day. The young lady who did my nails was very sweet... though they haven't even lasted two weeks before chipping. I've been going to VIP by Petsmart and they last nearly 3... I came to Sleek because it was closer and more convenient. I'm the person who wants the matching polish in gel, that is regular polish on my toes... so I specifically asked which of the colors (the giant bowl of faux painted nails) were 'perfect match' or had matching colors. I made sure to choose from those. When I'm all done, they don't match. They're close, but no cigar. I'm bothered because I made it quite clear that I wanted marching... if they didn't have it, or were out - I would rather be told than not have what I wanted or asked for... that's a customer service issue. I'd give them another shot - see if the gel lasts next time... the mismatched colors isn't a deal breaker, accidents happen... but I'll definitely pay closer attention to what bottles they have next time. read more

When I called they treated me cordially. When I arrived my first impression was good and the cleanliness of the spa was really nice. I had full set done by Helen. I just left the nail salon and on the door every from 10 AM to 8 PM however when I walked in they said they close at 6 PM. I walk in to a room full of Asian women with only white women as clients.. I loved this place, I really did. I messaged through Yelp and got a response right away. The salon was clean and nicely designed with tons of polish choices. The techs were kind. My nails looked great. But they're chipping and peeling already (gel) and my pedicure didn't last either, which is so unusual for me. I got a neon color on my toes with white underneath for a 'pop.' The white is showing along the edges. I chose this spot because it was near the mall but I'll probably stick closer to home. The gel lasts longer and the pedicures are indestructible. read more

Crazy experience! So I came here for the first time less then 2 weeks ago (I enjoyed my experience a lot, my nails just didn't last this was the only reason why I came back) returned with 2 broken nails and a few others on their way out as well. So I'm told that I can sit in a chair because Helen is ready to do my nails I try asking her about my nails she has the same terrible attitude I would say even worse! She completely ignores any questions or concerns that I have and so I assume that she just doesn't understand me so I say "do you not understand me" rude lady comes back that's what I call her and says "she understands" well if she can why can't she say it?! So rude lady then says "if your nails broke call me and tell me" forgetting that I literally just told her that after leaving the salon I went out of the country on vacation the last thing that I want to do is call about a broken nail. I was so pissed that it broke while I was away it was embarrassing!! So not one apology or any sense of empathy at all. Helen treated my like crap while she did my nails I tried to ask questions and she ignored me and as I was walking out of the door, after giving her a tip (THAT SHE DIDNT THANK ME FOR) I'm somewhat conflicted because the nails look great and I'm pleased with how they look I feel like they redeemed themselves but I can't help feeling hurt I've never been treated so terribly by people EVER especially at a place of service where I'm paying someone to do a service that's supposed to be relaxing but instead I was upset the entire time. And I know it was just me, because while I was drying she was making conversation with her next client. I would give the place 3 stars just because they do a good job but the way I was treated was poor. Only person that was nice and made me feel welcomed was the receptionist at the front desk kind lady. I've only been here once and the job was very well done. My nails look really good and my technician Tania was a sweetheart. I do however feel like the basic pedi was not worth $30. Other places charge less for the same service and similar products. The salon is under construction so it's not a very relaxing or inviting place. I'm sure it will be once the construction is done though. The floors aren't done, walls are new spackled drywall with some dirty water stains. One of the treatment room doors was open and I could see a rickety table with a beach towel laid over it which seemed really cheap. The walls were bare and it looked like a room you'd store cleaning equipment in, not a room to make people feel pampered. Definitely not a place i'd want to get waxed. They apparently have the construction being done at night but in my opinion they should shut down and work on the remodel and then do a new grand opening. I'm not 100% sure I'll be back before the construction is over. I want a place I'm gonna spend an hour and a half in to be calming and not a construction site. I shop at the giant next door so ill check periodically. The service and work was great though. Suggestion to new owners: close, have contractors work around the clock to not have your employees out for too long, pay the nail techs to even help clean or something and then reopen after the work is done. First impression was not the best which is important in the spa industry in order to wow new clients and retain your established ones. read more
