We came to the city with the idea to bar hop. We were excited to try here as the instagram photos were lit! There did appear to be valet signs, but we didn't mind street parking and a walk. As we got to the entrance, we were so excited until we were asked if we had a reservation. We checked thoroughly online, and nothing said a reservation was necessary, especially considering there wasn't any food being served. They asked us to pay $20 per person. We were hesitant as we had no idea what it looked like inside or how the vibe was. After some consideration, we decided to give it a try. We tried to pay via cashapp and venmo, but an error kept coming up. They tried to assist, but it didn't work for them. We moved to the side to continue trying. I noticed that a bunch of people were being excused and welcomed in spite of not having a reservation. I was annoyed, but I'm not pressed, so I kept trying until it finally went through. It was hot and muggy to get to the elevator. The gentleman that works the elevator was very nice and had a great sense of humor. He helped me ease out of my frustration. When we reached the rooftop, the cool air and good music graced our presence, lol. The music was nice even though 2 of my friends wanted more rap/rb. There was more of a soca vibe, and I can dig it. Everything was very pretty. The bartenders were a little too serious. We were looking for a specific drink and hpw to see a menu, but they didn't care to figure it out. The drinks we selected we were great, so we kept getting the same thing, lol. The servers and security we asked questions to were really nice. The security guard and I kicked it for a while about me writing reviews and how the establishment is on a certain night. The outside is small but pleasant. There's two sides, one smaller than the other. I'm sure sunset is a pretty awesome view. Security played no games. There were a few gentlemen who were drunk and disrespectful. Once they noticed or were told, they got them right out. The bathroom situation was interesting. Males and females form a line, and i believe there are 4 bathrooms. Needless to say, there was definitely some monkeg business going on, but yhats their business. The line still moved smoothly in spite of. Overall, I loved the vibe and the ambiance. The place was cool, literally. I don't think I've ever been in a club and you could feel the central air. While I want to be petty for having to pay and so many others don't, I want to take away a 2nd star. I loved it and I would definitely come again. read more

So I took my friend here for her birthday. It was a Friday night and they charge a $20 cover fee after 9pm and $50 minimum spend per person. This venue is located on the rooftop of the Sheraton hotel in downtown BK off Fulton st. It offers indoor seating as well as balcony seating outdoor. The setting is somewhat like a club/restaurant mix. There's a live DJ, hookah, and bottle service available. We were seated right across from the bar which was cool. Our server was friendly. The menu options have many appetizers and cocktails but not many main dishes to choose from. Food: overall the food here is like a 2.5-3/5. There is nothing special or particularly delicious about it but it's good for soaking up the drinks. Pupu platter: this was alright. Not bad. The volcano roll: I highly recommend against ordering this if you eat and like real sushi. This was offensive. They have five pieces of deep fried roll which was probably fried too long because everything inside was hot, the lobster on top and inside was not giving what it was supposed to give, there was no other type of fish that I could appreciate inside. Just pass on this one ok. Garlic fried rice: this was iight, relatively tasty initially and tastier after a couple of tropical mules. Also a very large portion. Drinks: The Tropical mule was hitting. It's good, a bit sweet but can sneak up on you. We got a pitcher after having tried one and it serves about 4 drinks. Forbidden fruit: my friend seemed to enjoy it. Price range: about $200-300 for two (including tip and $40 cover). I feel like the food and the vibe could've been a little better for the price point. Maybe it was just not the right night. Me and my friends had a table with one big bottle of Don Julio and two hookahs. I was covering the table to make sure that the table was secured when my friends went to dance. I wanted to use the bathroom and went to step away to look for my friends to tell her to look after the table. I come back to find the table cleared. We spoke to the owner and she was only able to provide us free shots and 1 free hookah. We asked for our bottle which was half full and she didn't want to because nobody was at the table. I stepped away from the table 2-3 minutes looking for my friend and they weren't able to reimburse us, just give us one round of free shots and one hookah for 10 of us. Wow!!! What a truly terrible experience. I showed up with my boyfriend to his cousins birthday celebration, the entrance is adjacent to garbage disposal for the entire building (vomit). We were searched like it was a strip club, a uniformed NYPD officer met us in the elevator he took us up to rooftop floor. Next we were seated, no one came by to inform us about the menu, apparently Sunday is brunch menu all day, yes til 9pm. So we all looked at dinner menu assuming, the waitress did come by, She grabbed a chair and sat down like she was part of the crew, she seemed annoyed we didn't know the menu was brunch all day. I informed her my boyfriend was vegan and could only get fries from the brunch menu, she shrugged did not care and made no accommodation. We ordered, the drinks arrived, everyone went for a smoke break but me and my boyfriend. The waitress looked at me dead in my face and confirmed my drink, completely ignored my boyfriend and left his drink at the opposite end of the table, when we asked her she was annoyed. It gets better, in the middle of dinner (mind you, my boyfriend's fries did not arrive until dinner was over) a door opens behind us because our seating area blocks off fire exits/elevator doors, please see photo. Next we are informed elevators are down and we are on the 25th floor, no mentioned of the birthday boys special day and was dismissed when expressing worry about elevator access. For reference the birthday boy is a person in a wheelchair, after much advocacy they finally agreed to ask the neighboring hotel for elevator access. Complete disaster DO NOT COME HERE it's a waist of money, your food will be cold and I personally hate eating in the dark. My friends and I reserved a table here and online it says that your table reservation includes free entry for your party. So when we arrive and tell them we have a reservation they tell us there is a $20 door fee and I'm standing there confused because that's not what it says on their website. The guy over there talking about the promoter has the door from a certain time frame....scam why isn't that written somewhere on the website, for all that I wouldn't have gotten a table. Finally we made it upstairs and to the host stand and there was no one there for a good ten minutes and workers just kept walking by us, um okay then. Eventually we had to wave someone down to let them know we have a reservation and they told someone else. That person then walked us through the rooftop and showed us this section all the way in the back in the corner and then one in the middle of the rooftop and of course there was a price difference between the two sections even though we already reserved for a table. We picked the section that was in the middle which was more money and required bottle service. We go get seated in our section but the couch could only fit 3 people and then they pulled over 2 chairs but there was a total of 6 of us. So we asked for an additional chair and didn't get that chair until after our bottles came out which was like 30+ minutes later....just a mess. Also the kitchen was already closed so just drinks no food and it was only midnight. Eventually later in the night they had a twerking contest. The girl on the mic was just dragging it out it was getting annoying. She was taking forever to pick a winner and was slurring on the mic. I was upset because a bunch of people were just standing around without any music and the girl on the mic was yelling about a bunch of nothing. The views are amazing, it's a rooftop garden in Brooklyn so you get the really nice city views outside and inside is gorgeous with lots of greenery, flowers, and vibrant colors. The vibe was on point, the music was really good! The mimosas were delicious- my favorite being their lychee mimosa. The food was ok, the volcano roll appetizer was honestly pretty good but the entrees weren't as good as I'd hoped. It's worth the money when you get the boozy brunch package ($55/person for bottomless mimosas and one entree), then there's a $10 charge at the door. That part didn't make any sense to me since we had already paid 55, so the 3 stars is due to the entree and extra cover at the door. The drinks and vibes alone are worth the 4 or more! read more

I really wanted to like this place but Kimoto just ain't it. I came here on a Friday night with a friend and in typical lame NYC lounge/club fashion, they kept people standing outside in line for legit no reason because when we got upstairs, the place was empty and it was pretty well after midnight. Because we didn't have a "reservation", we had to pay $20 to get in - they do accept cash app or Venmo if you don't have $20 cash on you. When we walked in I was so confused. The layout is very bizarre and poorly designed. There are two very large rooms, a small outdoor deck, and another smaller room where you are pretty isolated from everyone else. It seemed like they had two DJs playing two different kinds of music (soca, afrobeats, dancehall, some hip hop etc) in each room, although I will say the music in both rooms it was great. The vibe was whack AF..I could not believe that legit no one was dancing. Everyone was standing around and it was just weird. Also, there were people sitting down at tables eating which was weird as well... It seems like the kitchen is open very late. The lights in the one room with the bar were extremely bright and it just kind of felt like you were at a house party where everyone was standing around drinking. Bartenders automatically add gratuity to drinks no matter how many you order. Security didn't seem to have a problem with everyone smoking weed which doesn't bother me, but if you don't want to be around a lot of people who smoke, this definitely is not the place for you. I was considering planning a birthday here and I am so glad that I didn't. Their bottle package prices are ridiculous and they try to limit the amount of people that you can have in your section to try to squeeze more money out of you. This place was just overall super lame. Another spot that tries to be exclusive and pick and choose who to allow inside based on their "dress code" but I saw a whole lot of Ross and Rainbow in there. Came here for Valentine's day again. And again they had awesome music ranging from hip hop to smooth R&B to Frank Sinatra. My only suggestion for the music is to not play all the same type of song in a row but to mix it up. Like put the Frank Sinatra in between the R&B songs. We sat down at 615 and didn't get our food until 715. Waitress apologized and gave us free shots of tequila. But I don't do shots so I didn't drink it. A price off the bill would have been better... So deducting a star for the long wait plus the increase in prices!! Most things increased from 1 to 3 dollars since last year. The harujuku roll was 14 dollars last year and this year 17. And it didn't taste as good. It was super spicy which wasn't how it used to be. It has a spicy mayo on it in addition to the spicy tuna which is not what it specifies on the menu. Also they removed the Ice Water cocktail which I loved. We got the happy endings cocktail which was okay. They used cheap barefoot champagne in it. We had the bbq chicken sliders again which again were very good with not much meat on each. And we tried the caribbean roll which i liked best! Loved the shrimp tempura in it. Also we didn't get to sit in the cool "lounge" area with the couches. I guess they just renamed that area the lounge. When my boyfriend went to reserve dinner he had an option for dinner or lounge. So of course he chose dinner. So bad word choice on the website. You can still get dinner in the lounge. And I suggest you book that. Its much more of a cool chill space. And has more greenery as well. The dinner section was right by the elevators and has cramped 12 tables In a 10 by 10 area. Another reason this is losing a star is because we tried to come here with a group for dinner on a Sunday night and they were charging a 10 dollar cover and blasting club music! Its a Sunday night! I wanted a nice dinner with 6 people who we work with who were in town and so we went somewhere else. We couldn't even hear ourselves think. We expected that environment on a friday or Saturday but not a Sunday. They lost our business that night. I think we will come back here next year for Valentine's though.
