Its rare for me to end up speechless while eating food, but I was left in awe with how delicious the kimbaps from here are. Make sure you order ahead of time because when I called in right when she opened at 8 AM, she told me it would take 30 minutes. The lady inside is so sweet and you can tell she prides herself in her delicious food. The kimbap is made with love and fresh for each order hence the long wait. I tried the smokey ham, shrimp tempura and tuna mayo. All the kimbaps had delicious radish, green veggies and carrots. The rice to filling ratio was insane! My favorite is the tuna mayo because how creamy and flavorful it is. I am excited for next trip back so I can grab more tuna kimbap from here!
Such a cute little spot for fresh kimbap. Everything is hand-rolled, made to order, and you can really taste the care that goes into it. I ordered the gobo kimbap, smoky ham, and spicy tuna, all were delicious, but the spicy tuna was actually SPICY. And that's coming from someone who can tolerate heat, so just be prepared if you order it! Next time I'll try the regular tuna kimbap. The space is tiny, the parking lot is small and inside can probably only hold about three people waiting at a time, and even that feels tight. The sweet old woman runs the shop by herself, so definitely give her some grace. I recommend calling ahead and picking up your order to avoid a bit of a wait. I've been craving this place since my first visit and plan to come back soon.
I've had this place bookmarked for months after reading Rod's and Daniel's reviews but only realized it's literally on my way to the dog groomers this morning when I was trying to find my way back to pick up Mimi. Neatly tucked into a corner with parking fronting this little shop of wonders. If there's two customers it will be crowded. I was in a hurry so I just took two of the premade shrimp tempura kimbap rolls, If I hadn't already eaten that bahn mi mini baguette and eggs Benedict from F & G I would have bought a musubi and a package of pot stickers. Both looked delicious. The owner who was also the cashier was delightful, I would come back just because of her kindness. She packed my purchase in a bag along with chopsticks and napkins. I'll be back next time I'm making the trip to the groomers. I really want another roll, some potstickers and an açaí bowl. Yummo!
On one federal holiday, I wanted to try a new business for lunch, and I found Kimbap Plus on Yelp. I really love kimbap as it is one of the tastes of my high school years, when one of my closest friends would share her kimbap lunch with me. Another reason why multiculturalism is so important. Kimbap Plus is a small venue and is perhaps astounding in its scale with how much fits in their space, but they do it! (Talk about a hole-in-the-wall!) The woman working here is welcoming and friendly. She took my order right after I walked in and made my kimbap fresh while I waited inside. There are also grab-and-go items in case you're in a rush. Although space is limited here, there is still a place for customers to sit. The kimbap fillings are all good. A single portion was more filling than I anticipated and perhaps enough for a meal. I ordered two portions due to hunger.

This small, hole-in-the-wall spot delivers big on service, value, and flavor! The ajumma was so warm and friendly, and even slipped me a little extra treat. Support this amazing small business -- I'll definitely be back!

She does everything, makes the food, takes the order, and does the payment. In Honolulu where EVERYTHING is overpriced, this place is fair. Hole in the wall vibes is best.
Have been intrigued by their sign while driving by, but never made it in before 3pm until today. Called in ahead to see if I could still get some, and Auntie was so nice and let me phone order 15min before closing. Spicy tuna gimbap was absolutely fire, spicy and packed, with great variety of textures, PLUS made fresh. That fresh gimbap plus drink was $9 Absolutely will be back to get more!
Got introduced to this place through social media thanks to Melissa Chang. KimBap Plus definitely makes one of the best Kimbap on this island, or dare I say the planet??? But it's not the only thing she makes. She also makes amazing smoothies and açai bowls. This place is very tiny. Maybe four people can fit in at once so it's best to call ahead and order before you go down. Also parking can be difficult, but if you're in the mood for some Kimbap, Kimbap Plus is a must try.
I love kimbap. Kimbap Plus is the place to find fresh, well-made kimbap. It is located on Keeaumoku in a parking lot behind Lobster King. You'll find a cute, small box planted in the parking lot operated by one very nice lady who works alone because there isn't room for anyone else! She has been so busy since she started her business in January 2025. She was an office worker who is now following her passion. When I came in all the trays were empty and she was busy filling an order of 15 rolls. If you plan to order a lot, call in your order (give her a break so she doesn't feel so hurried). I ordered three rolls: gobo, shrimp, and smoky ham ($7.99 each). My rolls were made to order. I didn't mind waiting, it wasn't very long. Plus, there's free parking and two chairs. Each roll was just perfect, brushed with sesame oil and sprinkled with sesame seeds. I think my favorites were the shrimp and smokey ham. I was too chicken to try the fire fishcake or fire tuna. Maybe next time.
Wow, Sunny the owner &chef is so super sweet! It was my husband's birthday so we mentioned all the food we ordered was for his celebration. So she added 2 extra mandoo and 3 drinks for free. The bibinbop and kimbop were delicious. This was a delightful hole in the wall that has great take out!
We couldn't decide what to get and ordered almost one of every type of Kimbap. They were all good and we can't wait to go back. It's a hole in the wall type of place so no restrooms and there's a few chairs you can sit on to wait for your food and I wouldn't recommend planning to eat there. There's one person working there so order ahead. She's really nice and is a hard worker but you may be waiting a while if there are orders ahead of you.

Fresh, every ingredient prepped well enough to stand on its own, soooo outrageously delicious. I had the one filled with gobo (amazing) but can't wait to go back to try more. Everything from this place is so good!! Probably one of the better Kimbap places on island! The first time I ordered the tuna mayo and fish cake Kimbap, as well as a bibimbap. The aunty was so nice to add fish cake for my bibimbap since I don't eat beef. Today I ordered the smoked ham and fish cake Kimbap, the 10pc steamed mandoo, and an açaí bowl. I will have to say that the açaí bowl is such a great dessert! The fruits are fresh and aunty packs the bowl too! I will have to say that everything on the menu is going to be delicious! The shop is small, it took over the old Kimbap place that was there. But the Kimbap is just as good as the shop that was there before! The aunty that is there is super nice and friendly! Sometimes there may be 2 aunties there, but I think the main aunty is the one that wears the cute little bandana! She is a one woman show and makes everything there. If you want to make a big order, I will say the call it in. If you want to order in person, just be mindful that there may be a wait to get your food as only one aunty is making everything there. BUT the wait is worth it!! Fresh food and fresh ingredients!! If you want good Kimbap and amazing açaí bowl, then come visit this place!! It's definitely worth the wait. If you're in a rush, then maybe call your order in! :) read more

Me and my other half ordered the bibimbap, tuna mayo kimbap, steam gyoza and the super green smoothie. EVERYTHING was so flavorful. The super green smoothie was so smooth and refreshing, not too sweet. Kimbap was stuffed with filling, ugh so good. You know something is really good when hours later you're still thinking about it and be like "Wasn't that SO good?" lol Food was made to order, we sat inside at their little table and talked stories while aunty prepared our foods in her compact kitchen. Not too much of a wait considering we ordered quite a bit. So happy we spotted it on a random drive and decided to circle around to check it out. We'll be back to try the other kimbaps and the super green smoothie is a MUST! read more
I'm a major kimbap fan, and while I've enjoyed many delicious versions throughout my life, both homemade and commercial, and make my own at home, Kimbap Plus delivers a superlative, mouthwatering, crave-worthy product at a reasonable price point! Don't let this establishment's humble, tiny, mom-and-pop hole-in-the-wall environment (only big enough to comfortably 2 customers, so strictly take-out) deceive you! Kimbap Plus' rolls ($7.99: 8 pieces: basically a full roll) are not only expertly made: tightly rolled, firmly sealed, crammed with ingredients without a lot of rice filler, but they're so flavorful, and made with such tender loving care, that you might swear they were made by your own mother: that great! Not only that, but the service is so cheerful, personable, friendly, and efficient! Kimbap Plus offers several varieties of the Korean rice+filling+seaweed rolls: shrimp tempura, smoky ham, fishcake, gobo, tuna mayo, fire tuna, and fire fishcake, as well as smoothies, açai bowls, mandoo (steamed or fried), sandwiches, bottled drinks, Korean-style (sesame oil-spiked rice) Spam musubi, and bibimbap. I haven't tried the bibimbap yet, but I saw the topping-laden bowl and it looked yummy, so I made a mental note to check it out on a future visit! In the interest of quality control, our family has tried all seven kimbap offerings over multiple visits. Our verdict: all of them are excellent! My favorite is the shrimp tempura, which is bursting with flavor and maintains its crispy exterior even when rolled: a testament to made-to-order freshness and attention to quality. The fire varieties actually pack a little heat, even for this chilihead, so be forewarned if spicy's not your jam. When daughter returned from college back in December for a few weeks, I knew we needed to pay a visit here, knowing she would love the kimbap! The proprietor was super-sweet and gave my daughter an apple juice to accompany the kimbap lunch: both of us were so touched by her act of kindness. Kimbap Plus is located at the corner of Young and Keeaumoku. There is a dedicated small parking lot that's shared by several businesses, but I imagine parking could potentially get a little tight around lunchtime. Here's to Kimbap Plus thriving for many years to come: it's exactly the sort of local business that should become a beloved fixture in our community. After reading Rod U's review, I had to come check out Kimbap Plus. I was craving kimbap immediately after liking his photos for this establishment. This cozy restaurant is on the corner of Young St and Keeaumoku St. There is a private lot on site but there is street parking if the lot is full. They have a small table inside if you want to dine in but I would imagine most people getting their order to go. Customer service from the sweet owner was fantastic and she's a gem. I read reviews to call in my order ahead of time so I did and it was ready when I arrived. The first thing I noticed is the kimbap here is unlike other places where it's mostly rice. There is minimum rice so you're getting incredible value as it's only $7.99 per roll. I got the Shrimp and Fishcake. They offer those two options along with Gobo, Tuna Mayo, Fire Fishcake, Fire Tuna and Smoky Ham. Also, they offer sandwiches, mandoo, açaí bowls, drinks and smoothies. My order totally hit my kimbap craving and Rod U's review is spot on. read more

The best kimbap I've had in the US. High quality, properly cooked, unseasoned short grain rice minimally surrounds a plethora of well made beautifully seasoned assortment of veg that play off each other's flavors. A quality, neutral tasting nori holds it all together. It is brushed with fragrant sesame oil and sprinkled with toasted sesame seeds before being cut by the sharpest kinfe into even rounds. Gobo and shrimp tempura versions both phenomenal. Other flavors on offer: - Fishcake -Tuna mayo -Fire fishcake -Fire tuna -Smoky ham Each large, stuffed roll is $7.99. Tip: Call ahead for larger orders else rolls are made when ordered. Four took less than 10 minutes to make. One woman operation. She is incredibly friendly. Outstanding! read more

Lunch in Honolulu, Hawaii... This Hot New Business popped up on my Yelp app: Kimbap Plus I thought: "I could use a snack and maybe mom will want some Korean sushi, too!" I drove over to Keeaumoku Street - close to the corner of Young Street. This cozy shop used to be Paris Café and Bahn Mi... and later, it was Aunty Gigi's Café. There's a free, shared parking lot right in front. Inside, there are 2 chairs and a table. Outside, there are a few seats. The nice lady behind the counter was making more fresh kimbap. Her husband was prepping some veggies on the side table. They're very industrious and pleasant! She even took a photo of Cony and Brown! Yay! After perusing the menu, I decided to get an acai bowl and take the kimbap home. The lady said she ran out of medium sized bowls, so I got a large. It was so beautiful with green grapes, yellow banana slices, red strawberries, and dark-colored blueberries. The bowl was topped with smooth honey and texturized with crunchy granola in the middle. Picture-perfect! The shrimp tempura kimbap was delicious with tangy takuan and firm, plump shrimp! That sesame seed flavor and seaweed make a great combination! I'm looking forward to returning and get a smoothie and more kimbap! read more

I'm glad this shop caught my eye while driving down the street! The Korean auntie is a super super sweet person. From what I know, I think she pretty much runs the shop herself with some family members helping her retrieve the ingredients. I definitely 10000% recommend to call in your orders because she does get busy! It can range from a 10 minute wait to a 30+ minute wait. I was able to talk story with her for a bit as she was working on my second roll. You can tell her passion/love language is cooking and it brings a smile to her face when people enjoy her food. I solely would keep coming back just to see her succeed; but her kimbaps were pretty amazing too! I see why her shop is called Kimbap Plus -- her rolls are pretty giant compared to the normal ones! Funny enough, the two times I ordered from her, I never got to eat the kimbaps fresh (couple hours in between) and they were still gosh darn delicious to eat! I can't imagine how even more yummy they would be if I got to eat them right away. She packs complimentary yakult with your order -- like wow what a throwback to my childhood. She offers a wide selection of kimbaps and other food/drink options. I truly hope word gets out to put her more on the foodie map! read more

Freshly rolled Kimbap!!! I came here today around 10:00 AM and had 1 customer in front who pre-ordered a TON of kimbap. Obviously that got me excited so I ordered: - gobo kimbap - fire tuna kimbap - fishcake kimbap - smoky ham kimbap Aunty let me know that next time I can call it in so I wouldn't have to wait too long. I didn't mind waiting since it was spur of the moment. I would say it took around 15 minutes for her to make all 4 orders and I can see the benefit of calling in to avoid a lunch line. She was a 1 woman show today. I'm unsure if she has helpers but I was impressed at how nicely rolled all the kimbap were. Lots of veggies and I feel ~healthier~ because it's not as much rice. This spot has been open for 1 month and I will certainly be back! They are closed on Sundays as she goes to church :) She takes cash or credit card which is nice. But remember to bring your own bag. This place is to go only. No dining in. read more

Tiny storefront that's been a few things over the years I've worked in the area, but I was excited to notice a new sign this week. Pretty simple menu of kimbap, açaí bowls, smoothies, spam musibi and bibimbap. As you can see, the kimbap is STUFFED and in my opinion, you totally get your money's worth. The friendly Korean lady was busy making kimbap and running the counter. Everything was clean and I'll definitely be back to try other rolls. read more

Sweetest owner and such a quaint "hole in the wall"place with the best kimbap plus other things like bibimbap, sandwiches, smoothies, acai bowl...all ono! You can taste the love that goes into it. Absolutely 5 stars. This little whole in the wall took over another kimbap place. Decided to try it and I'm sure glad I did. You walk in and see a smiling face. The inside of the place is decorated with cute little touches. It's a one lady show here so please be understanding and patient. I highly suggest to call in your order a bit before and please DO NOT BE IMPATIENT. I ordered a hot tuna and a shrimp kimbap and for dessert an açaí bowl. There was a huge order ahead of me and this sweet little lady was rushing behind the counter. As soon as that order was done, she worked on mine and did it so well and quickly. The place is small but there is a small table and two stools but I dont suggest eating it there. As soon as people come in there is little to no room and it won't feel so great to be squeezed into that little place. Came home and enjoyed the kimbap as well as the açaí! Everything was so tasty. The kimbap had a ton of filling and not too much rice. I love that! The açaí was well made. Fresh fruit used, not too sweet, and the ingredients were all fresh! I love small businesses that put so much care and dedication to what they do. The menu isn't extensive, however the three things I ordered were excellent. Someone else after me ordered a bi bim bap so I took a picture of that. He said he had ordered a few items and it's always good! read more

While passing by one day, I decided to drop into this little storefront and I am so thankful that I did! I quickly realized that all other kimbaps that I had eaten in my life were a distant second to the delicious morsels of Korean goodness that are produced everyday by the incredibly talented and kind owner. All of what I have tri d had been so delicious. Tuna Mayo really impressed me the first, second, and third time that I've had it. Spicy Fishcake is not for the faint of heart but burns so good. Their smoked ham is also very tasty as well. Parking can be a bit tricky as the lot is small so keep that in mind. Also, if you are coming down in the weekends or have a large order, it's better to call in so the owner has time to prepare each roll fresh. If you love Korean food + kimbaps in general, I can safely bet that you will not leave disappointed. Could this be the best kimbap on Oahu? It very well could be. Until I taste another that knocks my socks off, Kimbap Plus holds the crown as #1. read more

I drove down Ke'eaumoku and read "KIMBAP" in big letters--so of course, I had to stop in! I placed a takeout order around 10:00 AM on a Saturday and was told it would take about 30 minutes since she was already swamped with orders. When I arrived, I was greeted with a warm welcome and patiently waited inside. (There are only about two small folding chairs inside). Auntie is soooo sweet, and it looks like she's running the shop all on her own! Everything is made fresh on the spot, and they have a cooler stocked with cold soft drinks, fruit cups, and sandwiches to grab on the go. Not only was the food a 10/10, but the service was fantastic. The food reminded me of home and the warmth auntie exuded prompted me to call my mom lol. Her cooking style is authentic and traditional. The kimbap was my favorite and the best I've had in long time. I'll absolutely be back to support this business! If you're in the mood for some authentic kimbap, I recommend you to give this place a try. It is a grab and go as there is not enough room to sit and enjoy. Mom and pop locations, run by a very nice lady. Food tastes fresh and genuine. Lady recommends to call in with order or you may have to wait about 5 minutes for her to make your fresh rolls.
