The lady inside is so sweet and you can tell she prides herself in her delicious food. The kimbap is made with love and fresh for each order hence the long wait. I tried the smokey ham, shrimp tempura and tuna mayo. All the kimbaps had delicious radish, green veggies and carrots. The rice to filling ratio was insane! Such a cute little spot for fresh kimbap. Everything is hand-rolled, made to order, and you can really taste the care that goes into it. I ordered the gobo kimbap, smoky ham, and spicy tuna, all were delicious, but the spicy tuna was actually SPICY. And that's coming from someone who can tolerate heat, so just be prepared if you order it! Next time I'll try the regular tuna kimbap. The space is tiny, the parking lot is small and inside can probably only hold about three people waiting at a time, and even that feels tight. The sweet old woman runs the shop by herself, so definitely give her some grace. I recommend calling ahead and picking up your order to avoid a bit of a wait. I've had this place bookmarked for months after reading Rod's and Daniel's reviews but only realized it's literally on my way to the dog groomers this morning when I was trying to find my way back to pick up Mimi. Neatly tucked into a corner with parking fronting this little shop of wonders. If there's two customers it will be crowded. I was in a hurry so I just took two of the premade shrimp tempura kimbap rolls, If I hadn't already eaten that bahn mi mini baguette and eggs Benedict from F & G I would have bought a musubi and a package of pot stickers. Both looked delicious. The owner who was also the cashier was delightful, I would come back just because of her kindness. She packed my purchase in a bag along with chopsticks and napkins. I really love kimbap as it is one of the tastes of my high school years, when one of my closest friends would share her kimbap lunch with me. Another reason why multiculturalism is so important. You'll find a cute, small box planted in the parking lot operated by one very nice lady who works alone because there isn't room for anyone else! She has been so busy since she started her business in January 2025. She was an office worker who is now following her passion. When I came in all the trays were empty and she was busy filling an order of 15 rolls. If you plan to order a lot, call in your order (give her a break so she doesn't feel so hurried). I ordered three rolls: gobo, shrimp, and smoky ham ($7.99 each). My rolls were made to order. I didn't mind waiting, it wasn't very long. Plus, there's free parking and two chairs. Each roll was just perfect, brushed with sesame oil and sprinkled with sesame seeds. I think my favorites were the shrimp and smokey ham. I was too chicken to try the fire fishcake or fire tuna. Everything from this place is so good!! Probably one of the better Kimbap places on island! The first time I ordered the tuna mayo and fish cake Kimbap, as well as a bibimbap. The aunty was so nice to add fish cake for my bibimbap since I don't eat beef. Today I ordered the smoked ham and fish cake Kimbap, the 10pc steamed mandoo, and an açaí bowl. I will have to say that the açaí bowl is such a great dessert! The fruits are fresh and aunty packs the bowl too! I will have to say that everything on the menu is going to be delicious! The shop is small, it took over the old Kimbap place that was there. But the Kimbap is just as good as the shop that was there before! The aunty that is there is super nice and friendly! Me and my other half ordered the bibimbap, tuna mayo kimbap, steam gyoza and the super green smoothie. EVERYTHING was so flavorful. The super green smoothie was so smooth and refreshing, not too sweet. Kimbap was stuffed with filling, ugh so good. You know something is really good when hours later you're still thinking about it and be like "Wasn't that SO good?" lol Food was made to order, we sat inside at their little table and talked stories while aunty prepared our foods in her compact kitchen. After reading Rod U's review, I had to come check out Kimbap Plus. I was craving kimbap immediately after liking his photos for this establishment. This cozy restaurant is on the corner of Young St and Keeaumoku St. There is a private lot on site but there is street parking if the lot is full. They have a small table inside if you want to dine in but I would imagine most people getting their order to go. Customer service from the sweet owner was fantastic and she's a gem. I read reviews to call in my order ahead of time so I did and it was ready when I arrived. The first thing I noticed is the kimbap here is unlike other places where it's mostly rice. There is minimum rice so you're getting incredible value as it's only $7.99 per roll. I got the Shrimp and Fishcake. They offer those two options along with Gobo, Tuna Mayo, Fire Fishcake, Fire Tuna and Smoky Ham. Also, they offer sandwiches, mandoo, açaí bowls, drinks and smoothies. I drove over to Keeaumoku Street - close to the corner of Young Street. This cozy shop used to be Paris Café and Bahn Mi... and later, it was Aunty Gigi's Café. There's a free, shared parking lot right in front. Inside, there are 2 chairs and a table. Outside, there are a few seats. The nice lady behind the counter was making more fresh kimbap. Her husband was prepping some veggies on the side table. They're very industrious and pleasant! She even took a photo of Cony and Brown! Yay! After perusing the menu, I decided to get an acai bowl and take the kimbap home. The lady said she ran out of medium sized bowls, so I got a large. It was so beautiful with green grapes, yellow banana slices, red strawberries, and dark-colored blueberries. The bowl was topped with smooth honey and texturized with crunchy granola in the middle. Picture-perfect! The shrimp tempura kimbap was delicious with tangy takuan and firm, plump shrimp! That sesame seed flavor and seaweed make a great combination! I'm glad this shop caught my eye while driving down the street! The Korean auntie is a super super sweet person. From what I know, I think she pretty much runs the shop herself with some family members helping her retrieve the ingredients. I definitely 10000% recommend to call in your orders because she does get busy! It can range from a 10 minute wait to a 30+ minute wait. I was able to talk story with her for a bit as she was working on my second roll. You can tell her passion/love language is cooking and it brings a smile to her face when people enjoy her food. I solely would keep coming back just to see her succeed; but her kimbaps were pretty amazing too! I see why her shop is called Kimbap Plus -- her rolls are pretty giant compared to the normal ones! Funny enough, the two times I ordered from her, I never got to eat the kimbaps fresh (couple hours in between) and they were still gosh darn delicious to eat! I didn't mind waiting since it was spur of the moment. I would say it took around 15 minutes for her to make all 4 orders and I can see the benefit of calling in to avoid a lunch line. She was a 1 woman show today. I'm unsure if she has helpers but I was impressed at how nicely rolled all the kimbap were. Lots of veggies and I feel ~healthier~ because it's not as much rice. There's a single chair to sit on while you wait for your order. You will wait, because it's just one lady working there, a Korean grandma. I quickly realized that all other kimbaps that I had eaten in my life were a distant second to the delicious morsels of Korean goodness that are produced everyday by the incredibly talented and kind owner. All of what I have tri d had been so delicious. Tuna Mayo really impressed me the first, second, and third time that I've had it. Spicy Fishcake is not for the faint of heart but burns so good. Their smoked ham is also very tasty as well. Parking can be a bit tricky as the lot is small so keep that in mind. I placed a takeout order around 10:00 AM on a Saturday and was told it would take about 30 minutes since she was already swamped with orders. Having tried a handful of Kimbap offerings over the years being a fan of Korean comfort food, the idea of a place specializing in Kimbap was very intriguing. After looking at photos and reviews of Kimbap Plus we knew this was a must try! With expectations high and mouth's in anticipation we proceeded without hesitation despite some questions about the surrounding area. Easily finding parking in the open parking area, we approached the tiny shop entrance. Although the exterior of the building was not the most welcoming, all things changed upon entering! Even having already been open for 2+hrs by the time we arrived, little aunty was still hard at work crafting her kimbap. Bright, clean, and charming, the space will win your heart and fill your olfactory senses with the unmistakable aroma of homemade goodness. Aunty greeted us so sweetly, reminding me of the welcome we would receive when walking into grandma's house as a kid. With barely enough room for more than the two of us in the shop, aunty's aura made us feel at ease and at home, not a small task in a tight space! We chose the fishcake kimbap, the shrimp tempura kimbap (recommended by aunty), and a fried mandoo set before hurrying home to have lunch. As you would guess, all expectations were exceeded. Each ingredient was seasoned with care, placed in the rolls with precision, sliced and displayed with the customer's visual enjoyment in mind, and packaged lovingly. I have to assume that the mandoo was all handmade given the skillful texture of the filling; seasoning was spot on, and each mandoo piece was expertly wrapped. All this for $24??!! This is one of those places that deserves a much bigger spotlight and the embrace of every food lover! How this one lady has the energy to work 6 days a week and produce at such a high level all on her own is nothing short of inspirational.
